Their hoagies are great and get them regularly. Since they bombarded me with texts over the new app, I thought I’d take advantage of PrimoHoagies only special. I can’t believe an app like this was built in 2024! It wouldn’t pick up my password, it wouldn’t pick up my phone number, it required my address which it also wouldn’t pick up. All of this information is easily accessible on my iPhone. When it wouldn’t pick up my stored credit cards, I gave up. No way I’m trusting an app this poorly built with credit card info. Abandoned the order and got lunch elsewhere.
Primo is a hoagie company, not a tech company. I fully understand, but holy can they really not afford to hire a real developer for their app? Straight up does not work, you’re better off trying to offer in browser from your phone.
Was excited to see there was FINALLY a new app for primo. They always had awesome subs and horrible ordering on the phone and app. Well. The new and improved app moves from zero stars to 1 star. Can’t update favorite stores. Can’t click order here. Can’t even log in half the time without it freezing. When I do get in I can see it LOOKS BETTER. And love that maybe I will eventually be able to see rewards etc. But still…. It’s unusable. The real shame here is franchise owners are paying for this and their HQ just isn’t delivering. For today I guess I will hit up another lunch joint as I just wasted 30 mins trying to order a sub and now I don’t want one.
Horrendous from the start. It’s like some guy is sending the account validation emails by hand. It’s 2020, that should be instant. Once you are able to validate your new acct, you can't login. Forget about linking your rewards account. Why are they 2 different things anyway? Primo really needs to scrap PrimoHoagies and start over with a different dev. Good thing we also have Jersey Mike’s in my town. Their app works just fine.
App lets you initially login, but when you go to order it asks you to login again in the ordering section. This always errors out and leave you in a cycle of fail.
Don’t think of trying to create another account either - that also fails. It just tells you your session is expired and you need to login again - even though you’re trying to create a new account.
I tried for half an hour to order on PrimoHoagies . It needs a ”cart” button. It doesn’t take ApplePay. I couldn’t get it to go to where you put in the card. I finally used their website and was able to place an order. I wasn’t able to use my rewards, however. Every other food app I have works much better!
I tried for 10 minutes and simply couldn’t figure out how to pay. When you check out it says you need to enter payment details, but there’s nowhere in PrimoHoagies to do so! So you literally cannot use PrimoHoagies to buy a sandwich. Seems like an important detail folks! Hopefully primo didn’t pay the invoice to app developers.
Love their hoagies… has to be the worst app ever… don’t even bother using it. As a business, I would be embarrassed to have something this bad out there trying to promote business/sales. Get it fixed, updated, OVERHAULED!! Go thru putting together an order for six hoagies… and app crashes every time during the payment process… and no way to get around it… frustrating to say the least. I could go on and on…
PrimoHoagies is completely useless. You literally cannot submit an order through it because the buttons disappear once you customize a sandwich and you can’t add it to cart. I tried for 15 minutes and then Google suggested Uber eats and Uber eats was $5 more for a sandwich. It’s already $30 for a sandwich as is. You have to use the website or just not place an order at all.
PrimoHoagies is very difficult to even fill in. The areas that ask for your information are labeled in red on a red background. Couldn’t even fill it out. The state manager helped however when it came time to submit. The primo server couldn’t take the application!! Even in the primo store. Seems someone is trying to sabotage the store from within. You need another app altogether.
I love Primos but PrimoHoagies is not allowing payment processing. I can’t use my gift card balance, can’t choose to use ApplePay and when I enter my debit card details I cannot see the button to move forward and actually pay. The website is fine, PrimoHoagies is the problem. Please fix this because I can’t access these rewards on the website
This isn't an app, it's just a worse way to access their already awful website. It asks for lots of information over and over again and still somehow never remembers it. Spent 10 minutes wrestling with the menu to put a large order together and it crashed as I was trying to put in my credit card information. Uninstalled it and ordered from the website.
PrimoHoagies is horrible. I ordered a cheesesteak and PrimoHoagies would not switch back to hoagies for my wife’s order. It asked me to log in multiple times even though I was already logged in. I put my credit card info in and there was no enter button for it to be accepted. Two times now we had everything queued up and PrimoHoagies didn’t work. We had to order at the restaurant and wait for our food. Please fix this horrible app!
Unbelievable that a food service app is this backwards. Every order requires input of basic info...name, full address, email address, telephone number, credit card info....everything. PrimoHoagies doesn’t automatically populate anything. Primo would be smart to try to imitate the automation in the Domino’s Pizza app....everything is automatic....can’t imagine how many times I got fed up with the Primo app, said ef it and ordered from Domino’s. No doubt Primo makes a nice hoagie, they’re losing out on orders though....perhaps they are stuck in the 1990’s.
Here’s another purveyor guilty of frequent app updates that consistently reduce the user experience. Seems like each update erases my user data and I’m forced through the rigmarole for a password reset - which then takes multiple attempts after repeatedly freezing.
Even more annoying is that Primo has a separate rewards number from the email id, which is maybe meant to sync with a preferred/local franchise? I can’t tell, but it’s definitely an extra complication when PrimoHoagies is meant to simplify.
Took 30 minutes to place an order and when I finally got to put in my card information it kept telling, “Credit Card Number Required” even though my full card information was in there and correct. Just in case, I deleted my information and reentered it all again - only to receive the same message. I tried this 3 more times and then I got an error message saying “Error: Too Many Attempts.” After that, it wouldn’t let me put in any other card information - it just looked me out. I deleted PrimoHoagies - it’s terrible, don’t waste your time order online from somewhere else.
Unable to login. I enter my phone number and nothing. I go to create a new account, and nothing.
Since the latest update, most of the stores are using a new checkout system. PrimoHoagies already wasn’t great but the latest version is just unusable. Page sections are constantly breaking, icons are hidden, and if you manage to reach the check out section, you can’t confirm your credit card information because the button is out of view and un-clickable.
My family, friends, and I all love Primo’s, but PrimoHoagies does the place a great disservice. For those worried about keeping your rewards points, thankfully you can still use the website. (Though I’d recommend ordering on a computer vs your phone). Hoping PrimoHoagies finally gets some attention and fixes because the current shape it’s in is rough!

So difficult to place an order, and impossible to set up an account. I have deleted and reinstalled PrimoHoagies , still messed up
A lot of unnecessary manual data entry here: 1) App requires manual credit card entry on each order. It can’t take iOS saved payment data. 2) While ordering, PrimoHoagies requests login details for the Perks, and I’ve already been logged into PrimoHoagies . 3) Saved address in user profile doesn’t carry over to address fields in ordering process.
Ordering using PrimoHoagies is ok. The problem is when it’s time to pay. No matter how many different ways you try it, PrimoHoagies will not save your credit card info. Every time you order, you have to re-enter your credit card info, which is an annoying waste of time!
Where to begin….
-Special instruction text box does not allow enough characters
-dead links to continue ordering
-credit card entry page bounced me back a page
-needs options for Apple Pay, etc
-make your own sandwich page needs prices for extra cost items
-points should be automatically earned and applied when an order is placed and payment made
Hire a proper app developer, Lord knows I’ve purchased enough sandwiches to pay for it.
I agree with the other reviewer. The Primo hoagies app doesn’t keep my address, phone number, or credit card number even though it asks for permission to do so. Every time I want to place an order, it’s as if I haven’t been there before. This problem is undoubtedly causing Primo hoagies a terrific loss of business. I am amazed they haven’t figured this out and fixed it. Gary Webb
Love the store, hate PrimoHoagies . Besides agreeing with other reviews about the failure to maintain your information, and the user having to enter all of it every time they order, I also think that PrimoHoagies is not “menu” user friendly. For example, I wanted a sandwich with Swiss cheese instead of the American that it came with. There’s no option to do that. And the “special instructions” section is a joke. Not only does it tell you “not for substituting ingredients,” but it only allows you about 20-25 characters to type. What are we supposed to do with that??
The checkout process does not remember my billing address even though I have it saved. you have to put your credit card info every time. There is no option for Apple Pay.
The new app is much more user friendly. I love that it has a clear view of my rewards and local store specials on the landing page. Huge improvement 🎉
People are giving a bad review because of an app!!! Pick up the phone and call. You’re not going to find a better hoagie than Primo. The bread is out of this world and is really what makes a Primo stand above the rest and the best hoagie you will ever have! If you complain that the bread is “hard” you don’t know what a hoagie is…stick to WaWa. If you want an authentic hoagie Primo is the best.
