WebCast TV for Chromecast Reviews

Of all the apps I’ve downloaded (Castio, AllCast, VideoCast, etc.), WebCast is by far the most superior! All of the basic features you need are there from the get go. The interface is clean with the ability to conveniently cast the media file with just a tap on the convenient Play Now pop up. No need for the ‘detect media file’ nonsense from other apps. WebCastTV’s browser also allows multiple tabs, bookmarks and favorites on the Home Screen which is really hard to find in other Casting apps available on iOS.

The only things I hope the devs improve upon is the website AdBlocker and to add the ability to cast the media’s subtitles or allow us to load subtitles from our local files or from a URL. If they add those features in the future, WebCast will no doubt be the greatest Casting App on WebCastTV Store.

I’ve tried aaaall the web casting apps and this is the ONLY one that functions properly, without pop ups and without crazy banners floating around. Doesn’t take a million clicks just to cast one video. Works on every streaming site I’ve been on so far. And you can leave WebCastTV without interrupting the cast. It’s clean, simple, and easy to use. You can keep looking but I promise you nothing will compare to this one.

I used Castio for over a year but it did not detect videos very successfully and videos took a long time to load.

Recently, I was switching to Cast TV | Chromecast and, while its performance was better, it required a lot of in-app purchases to extend beyond very basic functionality. This is typically not a problem for me, but I did not like that the design and interface was mediocre at best.

WebCastTV is not only magnificently functional, but it comes with every feature unlocked. I don’t mind some reasonable publicity or paying a reasonable price for an ad-free version.

In addition, WebCastTV offers great playback controls, bookmarks, tabs, short video loading times, and has a pleasant design.

So far, I highly recommend it.

It’s not even close. Has every feature offered by all the others, and Webcast is free not freemium like the rest.

Webcast gets a small, small ding for its inferior ad blocker, which needs more frequent filter updates, or at least an ability to piggyback on filters downloaded from ad block apps and employed via iPhone’s Safari content blocker settings.

WebCastTV is the only iOS chrome cast app that doesn’t spam you every time you click something with ads! There’s only one ad when you actually cast something and that’s it!

P.s. if the devs are reading this I sometimes click through the ads cause I love WebCastTV so much ;)

Love WebCastTV! Just what I was looking for. The only issue that I don’t like is that it doesn’t allow you to sign in into your dailymotion account, it always shows the message: something went wrong, so you can’t access to your playlists... other than that everything great!

Seriously! I tried literally over 10 different Cast apps including paid ones such as the TV CAST package of multiple cast apps for $9.99, iWebTV, Tubio, TV Assist, among other but not one like this one. I’m using iPhone 6 and the Roku Ultra and so far so good. Maybe there is something better than this but certainly not to my knowledge.

Ever since the update to version 1.3.2, when attempting to connect to Roku WebCastTV crashes instantly. I updated to iOS 14, went to settings > Webcast > Local Network “on” but that did not provide a fix. Everything works a before with Chromecast. I have looked everywhere on WebCastTV Store and the developer’s website but there is no email/method to contact app support. Please help!

Its good but could use a better pop up blocker. Im sure it works on plenty of sites but its only worked on a few i actually want WebCastTV for. Back to the blocker not sure if it was the site but i couldnt hit the back arrow fast enough to get back to the site. The couple times i closed app and or tab it almost immediately popped back up worse. Also i can only see 3 thing queue list.

Best app out of all the 7 or 8 apps I downloaded ⭐️ this was by far the best. I'm not sure if there is ads but if it has any they’re by far the least intrusive and distracting out of all the apps I tried. Video was casting and fastest loaded time. Good job

I was searching for a web cast app! Found few, but they were not easy as WebCastTV in terms of use.
No adds (which is great plus). Also, few media functions while you cast videos.

I just loved it when I go on a bunch of movie sites through WebCastTV and usually a lot them sites online would like pop ups, I mean like crazy pop ups. But with WebCastTV there is no absolutely pop ups whatsoever. I am digging WebCastTV 150%

One of the best Apps for ChromeCast, it’s simple and easy!! One problem is can not cast when the websites have 1080 films. For example it has 360P, 720P & 1080P WebCastTV doesn’t let you pick the format it just stop loading. Also can not cast HLS format.

I never leave reviews for these app, but I had to with this one. Years, I mean years I have been looking for the best streaming up. And I finally found it in this one!

Just wanted to let you know WebCastTV does not work to cast the video from iphone to chromecast after i upgraded my IOS 13 software on my phone.

A free app that does exactly what it supposed to do without asking for a pro version. Works very well with my Roku.
The developer deservers a 5 star rating for doing it right. I wouldn't mind adding a donation section for the developer.

I’ve tried so many apps and they didn’t even meet the bare minimum of what I needed from a phone screen casting app, but when saw webcast they offered more than what I was even looking for! I love it!

Sometimes it decides it doesn’t like the format of a video, one that it had played several times before.

Sometimes it will skip 5, 10, 15 videos, for no reason that I can discern.

10+ years ago, this would have been an amazing piece of software. In 2019, it’s the best of the mediocre apps in its space.

The worst thing it does is constantly, incessantly push the “actions” pop-up, making page scrolling ridiculous, slower than necessary, and super annoying.

Best app out there. It has all the features you'll need. Don't pay for any other, I used iWebTV and it asks you to pay for every feature and even has annoying banners and ads.

WebCastTV rocks!! I tried other apps but ran into problems with them. Until I tried WebCastTV and have had no problems with it so far. Thanks guys!!!!

I love WebCastTV a lot, and have been using it to watch movies online and they’ve been very useful since I don’t have cable. 2 years have I been using it and nothing seemed to have gone wrong until a couple of weeks ago when I played a movie and it was scratchy throughout the entire film. It would barely do that in the past but now it’s continuing to do so. If there is a setting I need to fix, or something I can do to stop it being so scratchy, please let me know.

The reason for 3 stars is because there’s no way to enable captions on a video then begin streaming. Clicking anything before “stream now” prompt removes the prompt altogether. Also, doesn’t allow for usage of device while still casting, unlike apps like Video Cast.
