Was so excited to watch my fav poker shows like High Stakes and Poker After Dark. You can’t actually watch anything without a paid subscription, but I knew that going in and didn’t have an issue paying for quality content. But the apps for iPhone, iPad, and AppleTV are so poorly done they are basically unusable.

None of the apps mark your progress, so you are left guessing which episodes you’ve seen. There’s also no way to let it auto advance to the next episode, you have to go back to the series page and take another guess at what’s next. On AppleTV, entire series won’t even load.

But the last straw was when the apps stopped recognizing my App Store purchase. There’s no “restore my purchase” option at all on AppleTV, and while there’s an option for it on the iPad and iPhone apps, it no longer works. I both canceled my subscription and asked for a refund of my current month, since there’s no way to use it.

App is buggy to the point it is unusable. Video feed freezes frequently despite the audio continuing on. The next video automatically playing is all buggily coded, so I just get jumped from episode to episode if I try to watch something I’ve opened or watched before. The audio gets further off sync from video as you watch. This is honestly the worst streaming service I’ve ever had. It’s too bad, every year or so I try to give this app another chance because I want the poker content, but it is continuously just unusable buggy and bad, to the point the best quality content in the world can’t make up for dealing with the interface. I wish it was better on desktop…

So many issues with PokerGO . Don’t know what I’ve already watched and don’t know where I am in continuing an episode. Not to mention all the bugs where an episode will black out video or cut out audio randomly. Videos randomly skip to minutes ahead of where I was. You would’ve thought they would’ve fixed these issues in time for the high stakes duels and whatnot... on top of that the subscription price is a bit hefty... don’t know why these things haven’t been fixed for years. Get on it guys. No one wants to pay for a broken product. And while it is great content, none of that matters if I can’t watch it properly.

Even if you are on wi fi, watching on your phone, the episodes constantly freeze or lag out to where you cant even see the screen. The commentary starts overlapping and this happens every time you try to watch on your phone. I have the latest apple smartphone so, they need to fix these bugs asap. Terrible. Can’t even make it through an episode without closing PokerGO and reloading it 20 times smh. Very frustrating for someone who lives to watch poker, especially the classic wsop main events

This is a great app to use for all the great poker content, I’ve used it for a long time now. My only complaint, and it’s a big one, is that it’s the worse streaming video app out there. It always freezes, doesn’t load, plays noise with just a blank video. Is there something you guys can do to reinvest a little of the money to make the streaming quality better for everyone? I know I’m not alone, there are so many reviews and people experiencing the same issues and you guys don’t seem to want to resolve it. Thanks!

I think many of the this app streaming community and myself would love to see some improvements soon.

Although the visual aspects of PokerGO are pleasing (as is the this app studio), there needs to be a fix with PokerGO . Scrubbing and no auto-save for sometimes an 8hr clip is extremely annoying. I wish I could stream these events on Twitch instead to have a chat room, but of course if this app would not be able to provide this live, rather in 8hr clips that do not save where you left off...

Anyways, I had some problems with PokerGO last year, happily I subscribed for the last 11 months but unfortunately re subscribing to watch this seasons poker events. Would LOVE for a software update!! See your other customers reviews as well!!!

Content is excellent, and on your TV it works great. However, I’ve never used a worse streaming app on my phone/iPad ever. It freezes constantly, goes black while audio still plays, you can’t scrub through and it is virtually unusable. It’s unfortunate. This is my second year with Poker Go and I will not be renewing if this doesn’t improve. Hopefully someone is paying attention to these reviews, there’s obviously a way to improve an app as hundreds of others have it down correct. Business will be lost if this doesn’t improve.

I love the content on PokerGO , but PokerGO had some very frustrating bugs from time to time. Twice now I’ve tried to subscribe through PokerGO , only to have my payment go through but fail to actually subscribe me. The money will be charged on my end, but I’ve had to go and request refunds from Apple due to not actually being subscribed.

There are also many times when the images and titles of certain content don’t match where you’re taken when selected. For example, when I select to watch what I think is High Stakes Poker, occasionally I’ll be taken to something completely different.

Again, great content, but app can use some serious improvements.

I love the content that Poker Go offers however PokerGO is absolutely horrendous. It has tons of glitches however the issue that I have the most is that once you start an episode (being as some of the cash games of seasons past are hours long) there is not an option to “continue watching” or pick up where you left off on certain episodes. So I am basically having to make notes of which season, which episodes I am currently watching and furthermore, the time stamp of where I am at in a specific episode to be able to fast forward to that spot. If this issue alone would be addressed, it would be a 5 star rating from me.

The content is great but PokerGO makes it impossible for you to finish watching videos. If you go to another app and come back to it, the video restarts. Or you’ll be watching and a message will pop up saying you have logged in on another device and the video shuts off and you have to restart. For an app you have to pay for, this sub par quality. Especially at $10 a month. I will not pay for this. Maybe if it was a one time fee of $2.99 it would be worth all of the headaches but not for $120 a year. I’ll keep checking back to see if they correct this nonsense.

Lots of poker to watch and enjoy, but if I stop in the middle of watching something PokerGO doesn’t remember where I was so I can “resume” my viewing when I return. So I have to write down what I was watching and the time I stopped so I can shuttle to where I had been. I add things to my favorite file but even there it won’t remember where I was. I’m trying this for a month and if I can’t get this issue resolved I’ll find another way to watch poker.

Love the this app app. Worthy of five stars. Great picture quality. Great assembly of commentators for live events. Great library of both old time favorites like reruns of High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark and more. Lots more. Plus, new original FIRST RUN episodes of those great series.
Additional original content is plentiful and well produced like the quality is the same of the major networks. Absolutely stunning! WHY THREE STARS? Because it doesn’t identify which programs you’ve already have seen. Episodes of poker shows look similar, but I don’t know if I’ve seen it already. You Tube identifies programs you’ve seen in full, or the red line indicates you’ve seen some. Fix that, should be easy and I’ll voluntarily adjust my rating to THE MAXIMUM FIVE STARS. Every time I go from landscape to portrait mode the video stops. Oddly enough it doesn’t do that when going from portrait to landscape mode, not that I want that to happen. It gets really annoying when I’m trying to watch something while laying down because when I accidentally turn my phone to much my video stops. Can you guys just make it so video playback isn’t stopped when switching from landscape to vertical mode. That’s my personal gripe with PokerGO right now.

With the 2022 WSOP events all completed and streaming, I’ve been trying to go back and watch the ones I missed live. Quality is great, but if I don’t watch the entire 6hr+ stream at once, I start to have play back issues. The screen goes black, then the audio goes back to the beginning and I can’t continue the stream from where I last paused it, even if I close app and restart. Usually the worst and happens the most in the last hour of stream, which is really annoying since I can’t watch how the match ends after putting so much time into it. This has happens almost every time. Disappointing since I bought the year long membership and I can’t finish one episode with out problems. I mainly watch on my phone, and my phone is also brand new and using WIFi, maybe this isn’t a problem on the computer but shouldn’t be a problem on my phone as well. Hopefully they can fix this. If this wasn’t a problem I keep running into I would have rated it 5 stars.

The content is world class and constantly being added to. Great WSOP coverage, and new shows being added all the time.

Let’s assume the content is what every poker player would want and more…

Guys - you’ve got to get some better app developers on the staff. If you menu scroll too fast (firestick issue not iOS) it bugs out. You can’t see where you left off from iOS device to iOS device. There’s now, with new version of PokerGO, an annoying red banner across the content - on occasion - that says Poor internet connection (fake news!). Just basic streaming video app QA stuff.

I purchased this app to watch the content which I greatly enjoy. I bought on my AppleTV. It shows up in my purchases in my App Store subscriptions, however it won’t let me restore purchases successfully from my iPad, so I can’t watch on other devices. It also doesn’t allow me to figure out my password or reset it from my iPad. Since I’m now away from my Apple TV for a while, this subscription is useless to me. Will ask for a refund unless someone can help address this issue with me.

Great content is there, but it’s such a pain to use, I’ll just find other poker content elsewhere.

UPDATE - this app contacted me and I was able to resolve the issue. The AppleTV signup didn’t require a password and I needed to reset the password to play on the iPad. PokerGO still is not perfect (hard to surf), but the content is excellent and they honestly tried to help. Give it a try.

First of all, the content is objectively the best available. PGT tournament series, High Stakes Poker, No Gamble No Future, the list goes on. Best commentators in the business (i.e., Schulman, Nejad, Hanks, Platt). Would love to see some Triton in there, but I imagine that’s more of a content rights issue than anything else.

However, PokerGO itself is…lacking.

Top 3 issues that, if corrected, would make a HUGE difference in the user experience (in my opinion):
1. When you start a live stream that started more than say 30 minutes ago, don’t start the stream Live. Start it from the beginning and give the user the option to go to the Live point. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve started a Final Table stream only to have an immediate spoiler when half the players are already eliminated.

2. If you attempt to watch a live stream and you want to go back to the beginning (which you shouldn’t have to do…see no. 1), it often gets pixelated to the point where you can’t see the chip and card graphics. This is kind of unacceptable for this specific content.

3. When the stream ends while you are watching from the beginning and you are not caught up to Live, the stream will freeze and PokerGO must be restarted and fast forwarded to where you left off.

this app, please, please, please consider taking a look at these issues. It would really go a long way.

If LIVE for Poker and are passionate about the game, this is PokerGO for you. The monthly cost seems minimal for all of the content you have access to. I enjoy watching the different cash games and keeping up with the World Series of Poker events.

The ability to put PokerGO on my smart phone, iPad and smart television, so I can watch Poker Go where I am and how I want to makes it even easier and convenient.

I have not even mentioned that I have rewatched High Stakes Poker from the early 2000’s from the 1st season to the last twice.

The summer of 2017 I became a this app subscriber. I watched hundreds (maybe thousands) of hours in live streams and on-demand replays. As a customer, I witnessed this app’s commitment: to solve the streaming challenges in the beginning, to create exclusive content with some of poker’s best players, to ensure live streaming is available on a regular basis. I can certify that this app works great on my mobile devices both on WiFi and cell data. This application is a must-have for all poker fans!

First my title should remove anyone’s fears about bad reviews (just look at their dates and if they are 2017/early 2018 ignore them). this app is an AMAZING platform for the casual fan and especially a poker fiend and player like me! I too had ONE huge issue when I first subscribed and that was the casting engine in particular. Quite frankly it just didn’t work well and sometimes not at all! I voiced my complaints and PG have gone above and beyond what a normal company usually would do. Not only did I receive credit for a month of service because of not being able to stream but they TRULY listened to my issues, relayed them to their tech support team and now a month away from my one year of being a subscriber have fixed EVERYTHING!! Next is the content. Sure in it’s infancy the ORIGINAL content was a little lacking. Not anymore. It’s great. Poker After Dark is back!! 100+ days of live stream (events you would NEVER see) if not for PG in full HD are great!! No commercials and unedited commentary (love it). I believe they are even giving a month free trial during the WSOP summer! After that 10 clams a month! I will be a subscriber for as long as I am a poker fan and player!! Simply great app hands down!
