The new version of bartaco is such a huge improvement over the last app. It looks amazing and functions much better than the last version. I love the menu images, the digital waitlist, Sign In with Apple and Apple Pay and the ability to easily add modifications to my order. I hope they’ll keep adding new features like favorite items and order history/reorder! Right now the hardest thing to do is finding the right location.

bartaco leads you to believe that you can Sign In with Apple but when you try, it gives a little error at the bottom saying “incomplete user information from Sign In with Apple” and doesn’t let you do anything about it, no idea what “information” it’s missing nor an option to provide it.

Pushing along to the order process, trying to pay with Apple Pay yields a feedback-less error of “declined” no matter what card you choose in Apple Pay, until it decides to ban you. Then you can’t place an order anymore for an undetermined amount of time. Guess no food from this app.

bartaco has no reason to exist. It purports to create a spot “in line” for you to make a reservation, but what it’s really doing is putting you in a virtual line, which runs completely parallel to the actual “line” of reservations at the restaurant, yet never actually arrives at said restaurant (case in point, I secured a “spot in line” about 30 minutes prior to arrival via bartaco , only to find out there was a 45 minute wait upon arriving at the restaurant). Therefore, it has no purpose to exist, since your “spot” is only valid for an imaginary version of the restaurant, not the one you’re physically standing in right now impotently reading this review.

The this app app was recently updated and wow! I am loving the improvements. It’s so easy to order and check out, the photos are great and the functionality is much improved. Love this app and love their new app! 👏

I tried so hard try to place the order using bartaco . The mobile app is so poorly written and full of bugs. I just can’t pass the payment section. Go back to the drawing board and rewrite the whole app. this app has lost so much potential business due to this poorly written mobile app. 0 star.

App is very buggy and simply doesn’t work. We entered in all the payment fields and checked it over several times, but bartaco didn’t process payment after many attempts. Apps should be simple, but this isn’t and doesn’t work.

Downloaded bartaco , added my name to the waitlist, only to be told by the hostess the wait would be 30-40 minutes. The guy in front of me did not use bartaco and was told 35 minutes. Pointless

Terrible update. No longer shows how long until pick up was ready and automatically adds an 18% tip even if after I added a customized tip.

It crashes and then after re-entering everything it won’t accept any valid cards or Apple Pay. I’m going somewhere easier to eat.

Don’t bother. I joined the waitlist from the parking lot and after 30 mins I called to inquire. I was told you join the waitlist just to walk inside to join the actual waitlist.

Not mad. Just disappointed. Delivery charge is also way too high!

I wouldn’t recommend joining the waitlist for the Hartford location. It doesn’t help at all.

If bartaco creators maybe placed a couple of orders using bartaco they’d know how bad bartaco is :)

You check-in via app, still have to stand in line at restaurant to check-in. What a great idea!

It assumes you’re already at the restaurant.

Before you could tell average wait time for a table. Now, with the update, there is no indication of length of time until a table is ready. The in-app messaging is also very confusing and at odds with how the Mosaic location runs their system. Take today: I added my name to the waitlist. An onscreen graphic says “you’re on the list! We’ll keep in touch via text.” I didn’t receive a confirmation via text, so ten minutes later I called the restaurant and asked what is the average wait time tonight. She replied and said that when you use bartaco I was supposed to check in at the restaurant in person once I was in the area before they would consider me ready to be given a table. That I had to do this before I got a text from bartaco . She checked me in over the phone (very nice) and told me I would then get the actual table is ready text to approach the counter. At that point, what’s the point of bartaco ?

I love Bar Taco in Port Chester. But bartaco is very frustrating. First time I used it to order delivery, it kept telling me to come back in 15min cause they were busy. One hour later I gave up and ordered somewhere else, just to be surprised with the order from there anyway. No response when I complained — cause then I had too much food. Then today I tried again. Same problem with the “come back in 15min.” This time I called to confirm. They hadn’t received my order and said they do not deliver which woulda very fishy. Was the person on the phone unaware of the delivery on bartaco or this a Doordash app or something, just disguised as Bar Taco? This is important cause when I order from local places I want the money to go to them, not a large company. Anyway, frustrations everywhere. One star.

Very confusing, I got on the waitlist before leaving my house. Wait time 45-60, arrived at this app 30 minutes later, checked to see how much longer my wait would be I was told 45 minutes. I was never told I had to check in, I simply did so out of curiosity and then still had a 45 minute wait. Not sure the point of bartaco to get on the waitlist that clearly doesn’t exist except at the restaurant. Don’t offer the option if you’re not going to honor the system through bartaco .

Like plenty of others have said, bartaco is useless. I checked several times prior to meeting a friend for lunch and each time it said “tables available, come on down.” I got there only to be told it’s a 30 minute wait. When I asked what the point of bartaco is if it’s not right, I got a super snotty hostess telling me bartaco doesn’t update in accordance with their actual way time. Soooooo then what’s the point of this? Seems like a data grab to me.

Just downloaded bartaco . Had to register info multiple times and didn’t recognize info I had entered. Tried to order and wouldn’t bring up the menu. When I tried to click on other areas to launch the menu app crashed...twice. Time for a new release. I’ll order more if bartaco works. Easy value prop to improve it.

Used bartaco to put my name on the wait list. Seems like a great idea, except discovered the secondary waiting list once we arrived. Host gave some BS story about how it reserved our place in line. Whatever! 😖 App said 15-20 minute wait, and after a 20 minute drive we checked in to another 30 minute wait. Say what! Not what we expected. Seems like a ploy to get my contact info. Don’t bother.

So they removed the only useful feature, knowing the estimated wait time was amazing and it made sure that people like myself with anxiety would know bad times to go. Now you can still get added to the list but it won't tell you ahead of time the wait time, very disappointed

In what way does bartaco help the customer? The answer is it does not. I recommend to pull bartaco off bartaco Store and start from scratch. Either have the customer go to the restaurant and have them commit to waiting on an old fashion list or don’t. bartaco does not solve any problems for a resturant patron, at least this one.

Constantly asks for a valid phone number even after I have entered one.

Every time I try to place for delivery it kicks me to pick up after I check out leaving me with the task of calling to cancel food-less, or driving to pick-up unplanned.

The interface is actually great, it just doesn’t work.

The wait time is a lie essentially rendering bartaco pointless. Ridiculous for a restaurant to not have reservations AND to create false expectations for their customers who have better things to do than to wait for 2 hours for a supposed “reservation” will not be coming back to this app because the hassle is too much

I honestly think they developed bartaco to farm unsuspecting customers information. You fill in all the information it asks for but then, there’s zero functionality. No ability to book your place in line. Can’t order take out. I would like to thank the developers of bartaco for wasting my time.

There is no point to the waitlist function because it doesn’t actually put you in a line or help your wait at all. The purpose was to get in line virtually but when you get at the restaurant you start your wait then eliminating the whole point of the virtual line. Bar Taco, do something to fix this.

What is the point of having a reservation/wait in line app, if the time that we’ve reserved and waited doesn’t apply when you actually arrive. Literally bartaco had no reason to exist if it doesn’t serve its function. The restaurant itself is great but bartaco is horrible.

Really quite annoying as a consumer. And why would you want to create another hurdle for potential customers to interact with you? Lots of better and more accepted forms of doing this (opentable, Grubhub, caviar, etc). Don’t reinvent the wheel and annoy people. Bad use of resources.

Why offer an app to “get in line” if that feature doesn’t work? We used bartaco for the first time to get in line for Westport, and when we got to the restaurant, our name wasn’t on the list. We had to wait as if we’d just walked in the door. Super annoying app and treatment.

Used to be helpful, but now it gives wildly inaccurate guidance. I just drove 20 mins with my family as bartaco said tables were immediately available. When I got there they had 1.5 hour wait!! Hostess confirmed app issues.

Evidently means “30 minute wait, our app doesn’t work”
☝🏼actually said by the hostess. So yeah. Don’t waste your...it’s free...but don’t waste even a finger tap. Move along and find the phone number.
