Creepy App

I was sent an email when I signed up for a class that made me believe I need to download and install FitGrid, and I had to register and connect my MindBody account. The Yoga studio didn’t need FitGrid, and this email is more or less phishing in my opinion. It now has access to my MindBody account and when I go to any class anywhere it scrapes the data and collects who else was in the class with me, without their consent. It encourages me to send them invitations to join this creepy data aggregator, which doesn’t do anything useful other than showing you information about people who were with you in the class. The creeps will enjoy that, but if someone wants to make friendships from fitness classes please just just walk up to the people and talk to them.

Privacy Protection Issues

I couldn’t get past the opening questions on FitGrid because it doesn’t allow you to opt out of any of them or choose “other” and type in your own response. For example I have more then 3 injuries and some of mine are not listed but FitGrid only lets you choose 3 from a very short list. I also don’t want to share what I do for a living, nor should I have to in the scope of FitGrid, plus I have 2 careers and there’s again not an option for selecting multiple or typing in your own response. I don’t see how their “AI”
System will be able to help anyone with such limited choices. Poorly designed and trying to put everyone in a box.

Pointless! Plus, there is way to delete personal info/deactivate account!!

Offers nothing useful that I can tell. Doesn’t actually allow sign-up for classes, does a poor job with class tracking compared to other platforms; basically wants to be a f*ceb**k for fitness classes, which isn’t at all interesting or useful, IMO. There is no way to delete or inactivate your profile, or remove your personal information, which is really problematic. Don’t waste your time, there’s no “value added,” by using FitGrid on top of whatever you’re already using. The creators should have stuck to behind the scenes management for studios.

Avoid if you can!!

I foolishly signed up because our gym was testing it out and absolutely regret it (And our gym quickly abandoned it when they had bad customer service interactions). They ask for way too much personal information. And then if you want to delete your account/information, they claim it can take 10-45 days; but even after that, I never got confirmation about them deleting it. Absolutely horrible and can only hope they’re not out there selling users’ private information.

App Settings Non-existent

The casual, over-familiar, social attitude of FitGrid bleeds directly into the core user experience, and is worse for it. Notifications are barely modifiable for any function other than friends reserving classes (??), cannot disable goals tracking, the only account setting is…deleting the account, and the feedback option is a thumbs up/down button that doesn’t redirect to App Store (or any quantifiable feedback channel).

Additionally, the search function is busted. I can search for a specific gym and find it in the search suggestion list, but selecting that gym does not take me to the gym’s page, and the gym will then not populate in the search results. So, core functionality: also not great.

Willing to avoid gyms that prefer FitGrid for scheduling 👎

A little pushy and invasive

It might be good for people who want a fitness social media app - as for a simple way to schedule fitness classes, I found it way too invasive, too much personal info requested, too many emails, too many reminders of inviting friends to class with you, etc. You also have to “request” to delete your account rather than being able to simply delete it. It’s been several days since I asked to delete my account and they still haven’t approved it.

Beware of multiple late cancellation policies to go to one class!

My studio has a 2 hour cancellation policy meaning I can cancel up to 2 hours before class without being charged. I booked a class for my studio on this app and cancelled more than 2 hours before class and was still charged for the entire class because this app has a 12 hour cancellation policy. Customer service was nice but did not credit me due to their policy and not my studio’s. I learned my lesson and will stick with my studio app to buy and book classes from now on.

Asks for too much information

I can’t use FitGrid at all. I am saying this because there developer response says they hope I’ll continue to enjoy. I can’t. FitGrid is easy to use but asks for way too much personal information. It would be great if there was an option to opt out of giving your birthday, gender, location, fitness goals, etc etc. I expected it to ask for my SSN next. No thank you.

Good in theory, nice UX, hidden bait and switch fees, and terrible customer service

I want to like FitGrid. But it’s ridiculous they charge to book a class that’s free on other apps, and there’s no mention of a fee up front.

What’s worse is the class I wanted was advertised as a “free class” and didn’t accept my reservation. So I was charged $1.99 for nothing. I raised the issue with this app, and their customer service person “Christina” wouldn’t refund my money and was super condescending and slow to respond.

Read the fine print (if you can find it) and just book your class through MINDBODY. The jury is out on if I can connect with any classmates or not.

Upon initial download it’s a huge disappointment.

Cool app!

I like being able to see if others are signed up for classes! One thing I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t always refresh or update the class roster accurately.

Easy to use and great for connecting with friends

I love using this app to see what classes my friends are taking so we can coordinate and schedule together. Really easy to book and love the reminders when classes are upcoming!!!

Fit Grid Rocks

Love Fit Grid. It motivates me by reminding me of classes that are coming up and keep track of all I have done. I can co-ordinate with my friends through FitGrid . It is easy to book and cancel classes!!!

Love how I get to keep up with my friends classes

With fit grid I get to see which classes my friends would be attending and it’s so lovely cause we can all book the same classes and see how many people would also be there. It’s such a fun little app and I love it

Instructor

I love using FitGridPro as an instructor! It reminds me after class to send my follow up email to my clients. I have a set personalized email for each person and it is great for starting that first conversation after class.
As a dancer I love the this app app. I can book my classes for the week and get a notification when one of my friend books as well.

Community and more

Love the community aspect of FitGrid . It’s a great tool for newbies and can help with building friendships. The access to all studios around the world is the best part. I can find a class during the off hours not offered in my time zone if needed. There’s options to connect with your teacher too. This is so great ever more during this pandemic

Love This App

It is user friendly and helps me stay accountable to myself and my fitness goals. I use it to book all my classes and I love how it shows me how many other people are in my class. Fun feature is the ability to invite friends to join you in class - FitGrid makes it easy. Also makes it easy to cancel a class when your schedule shifts on a dime. Highly recommend to studios and clients!

Workout, make connections, earn rewards!

FitGrid is great for booking classes and connecting with coaches and other members. As more studios start using it, it will be even more helpful! I really like the aspect of earning rewards just for signing up for classes! I was able to try out a class at a new yoga studio for free! You can also customize your goals so FitGrid can help keep you motivated

Great for connecting

this app has been great for signing up for classes, both virtually and in-person, and for connecting with other people who are part of my fitness studio. I especially love that I can see who else will be in class that day and my friends’ classes as well. They have lots of offers too, like free classes after signing up for so many classes, etc. so you can try out different classes at other studios, OR gift a class to a friend. Because working out is better with friends! It’s easy to use which is also a plus.

Def 5 Star app, just needs time

At some point a *lot* of single people are going to benefit from FitGrid. It seems like a pretty solid interface for scheduling normal classes, just a few bugs to work out here and there which shouldn’t be a big deal. As long as people keep using this and gradually start adding their info, it will turn into a solid *option* for singles and if they can do that while making it easy for me to sign up for classes and get a deal here or there then sure why not.

Great Fitness App!

Big fan of FitGrid! It provides seamless and easy access to fitness studios and I love the live streaming feature. Plus you can connect with friends’ accounts. Can’t recommend this app enough!
