Out of all the many, many, many apps I have on my phone, the Food Lion app is the absolute worst app to use. It’s extremely frustrating to have to sign in to FoodLion each time I open it. When I use FoodLion , all I really want to be able to do is open it, and get to the weekly add specials and coupons. FoodLion won’t do that without logging in. Would be nice to AT LEAST have the option for FoodLion to “remember me”. What would be even better is if FoodLion would use Face ID. Get with the times Food Lion app developers, please.

Why can’t FoodLion use facial recognition of fingerprint like every other app. You previously did not have to sign in every time. Can this be fixed?
Every time you close FoodLion you have to sign in again. Previous versions allowed FoodLion to stay signed in after FoodLion was closed. The recent update did not fix this problem. FoodLion has been broken for for 3 months. What’s the point of Save and Earn if you can’t access FoodLion at check out easily. Can this be fixed?

Rarely do my coupons register that I add. Shop and earn do not show.
Now it’s telling me to use my MVP card to update FoodLion . I’ve restarted my phone, tried to update from FoodLion Store, and nothing. Since they no longer issue physical cards to get my savings, I had to punch in my phone number.
Again, coupon was not used that I downloaded.
Plus I have to sign in constantly even after getting the barcode on the phone before even entering the store, I still have to re-enter at the register despite leaving FoodLion open.

I downloaded both the food Lion app AND the food Lion to go app. I registered for the mvp card and received my mvp number. I was ready to shop. I signed in, entered a to go order, went to cart, entered payment info, and hit place order. To my surprise a message “Error: account deactivated “ showed up at the top of a separate page. I tried the process again with the same failed results. I received an email that my order was canceled which is odd since I never even got to place it. My credit card was charged and then refunded as well. What is wrong with your app developers? High school kids in their parents basement could do better web development. Food Lion just lost a customer.

I don’t shop here because it’s too far, but once in a while they have something specific that the other stores don’t carry. SO on FoodLion, i did a Search for items.. It Doesnt Show You the Price?? And, You Can’t Click the Item for Any Details to make sure it’s the item you’re looking for?? You cant make the picture bigger.. All you can do is “Add to List.” Such Basic Functions that are missing!! The best you can do is Download the Food Lion TO GO App - which is also ridiculous that they couldn’t combine the two functions like other stores’s apps... However, checking the prices this way will only work if your store has Pickup capability, which mine Does Not! So yea, a waste of time for me.

I have been trying for almost 2 years to get my account set up with FoodLion. I get the error that the Email/Password combination is incorrect. I go directly to the website and log in seamlessly. The developer rarely responds anymore. If they do, it is a phone number. Not helpful at all. I have changed my password multiple times. CS confirmed I am using the correct email. I have deleted and reinstalled FoodLion multiple times. There a many complaints for this same topic. I won’t be shopping at Food Lion until app has been fixed. Walmart does a great job with their app which I have used for years. Kroger app is cluttered and clunky but at least I can sign into it. Don’t waste your time until this problem is corrected.

I started FoodLion today to add something to my shopping list. After logging in, I get a screen that says they have updated FoodLion and I must update to the new version to use it. I tap the “Update Now” button, and the AppStore opens to the Food Lion app. There odd no option to Update, the only choice is “Open”. So when I tap “Open”, I get the splash screen and login again, followed by the notice that I must update FoodLion to use it.
FoodLion was marginally useful before, but this update has made it completely useless.
Development team: Please check out the Lowes Foods, Harris Teeter, or Publix apps. They all work MUCH better than this dog!

I downloaded FoodLion to score on the awesome shop and earn Food Lion has to offer, but it seems more times than not it does not load to my app so it does not load to my card either. I spent $153 on July 4th with tons of shop and earn items. Not one loaded to my app. I thought maybe my app was not up to date, but it is. I’m extremely disappointed.
Update, FoodLion is still crap and will not work on any of my devices. It just shows a blank screen. If FoodLion doesn’t work on older model phones and tablets they should say so. I guess poor folks who can’t afford fancy phones can’t partake in the savings they need. Zero stars- do not recommend.

FoodLion could be so much better. When you open it sometimes it closes back out before you even sign in. It constantly freezes and loads slowly. When FoodLion was first introduced you didn’t have to log in every time you used it. It is a hindrance to log in while trying to check in while shopping when you used to touch it and it opened automatically. The last several updates have been crappy and only makes it frustrating to use. Fix it!!!!

Food Lion really needs to get their act together with FoodLion. Use Kroger’s as a model. It’s ridiculous to have to switch between website & ToGo app to see sales ads & get coupons.
ToGo app needs work too. Who orders fruit & vegs by pound? Why can’t I order by unit: 2 tomatoes, 6 bananas, etc... How do I know the weight of what I want? Additionally, there is no way to include comments to further describe what’s wanted, ex: 6 to 8 bananas in a bunch slightly green.
There is also no easy process to use paper coupons when picking up an order such as a hand held scanner to reimburse/give credit. One has to go into the store & deal with customer service which defeats the purpose of pick up orders. I had even been told I couldn’t use coupons with pick up orders - seriously?!
These are all features offered by Kroger. I want to shop Food Lion because of the close proximity to my house, the quality of products & great people. But, frankly, FoodLion deters it as my shopping store of choice.

Search for a product. You may not be familiar with this product. I can promise you, FoodLion will in no way assure you that you have found the correct product. A blank box to the left as a photo. A name on the right and nothing clickable. You may add to list. Go to list and see the exact same mysterious few lines of non-Info.
In this time, or any time, it’s nice to know if the place you plan to go pick up your regular items has something new in stock. Who has time or virus immunity to travel all over town? Certainly not me.

I have enjoyed using FoodLion , especially the coupons and earning $s off. However, it is very frustrating having to manually sign it to use it. I cannot understand why any developer would create an app of this nature and equip it with the ability to retain the user's email address, and log on using facial recognition. All the other grocery store apps have this feature, not sure why this one doesn't. Please add this ASAP.

It would be really great if your company worked on this application for those of us who are blind, it's very difficult to navigate the application when you're blind, I signed up to get a card mailed to me, because the image I cannot see and it won't tell me what my number is. In my opinion I think all applications should be ADA compliant as well as store when I can get to a Food Lion store the ADA says they have to have somebody help me do my grocery shopping. I will give it a try going to the store to do my grocery shopping, if I find they are not ADA compliant, I will have no choice but to call the ADA. Those of us who are disabled have the same rights as people who are not.

I’ve been using FoodLion for a long while. I’m noticing that my earnings for the Shop & Earn feature are not loading. I’ve called customer service and they of course they see my purchases on my account. They are putting a request to have a specific department go over my account and add what I’ve earned in manually. I spend a lot of money with Food Lion so not being able to use my points that I’ve earned is unacceptable. I also noticed FoodLion hasn’t had any updates in over a month. I sure hope it’s not due to lack of updates of FoodLion and why my Earnings haven’t shown up!

Please update FoodLion so one's customer barcode can be accessed without requiring internet access. Too often, when in a store, I’m unable to log into FoodLion inside the store, due to the building’s metal shielding. FoodLion requires one to login to the Food Lion account before the customer account card barcode can be presented to the cashier. All to often, this is not possible inside the store. Frustrating!
Also consider adding the ability to add the customer card’s to the Apple Wallet which will eliminate having to access Internet.

As a loyal Food Lion shopper over many years I find the shop and earn program a little less than stellar. I think my loyalty should be rewarded by automatically enrolling my card each month so I do not miss out on my EARNED rewards. Especially now with the added burdens of trying to shop quickly and obey store rules and loss of income - to come out after spending much money to realize I am not enrolled because it’s a new month is frustrating and hurtful to a very loyal customer. This should be fixed!

All in all it’s a good app But this morning it keeps prompting me to update and it has been. I restarted my phone that didn’t work and I deleted FoodLion and re downloaded it and it still says update. So I downloaded it on the other phone and same thing happened. So basically I’m just letting someone know it’s not working and I didn’t know how else to do it lol. I just wanted to see the weekly add .

I now have two food lions near me and I love them both. Fantastic customer support, lots of good deals every day, high quality. The only knock I have is that there isn’t as much organic stuff as some competitors. As my wife has had some pre cancer scares and cancer runs in both sides of our families, we strive to buy organic foods whenever possible. Also we make it a habit to find foods that don’t have any soy products in them.

The remodeled Smithville Food Lion is even better than before! We moved here 4 years ago, and I’d go out of my way to avoid FL stores in Nashville. Seemed they worked hard at being so-so. From dim lighting to moldy, wilted produce & dusty shelves, I’d go right on by. But not this store! It’s clean, bright, well stocked & fun to shop! I enjoy the expanded product list, but miss a few familiar faces.

Excellent customer service in all aspects! Store always clean and they are always stocking! The only downfall is you the corporation need to take over the take out grocery portion, I do not like paying when I drive over to pick up my groceries when Walmart less then 1/2 mile with NO charge. Because of the fee I do not use this with Food Lion.

FoodLion will NOT let me login to my mvp account. I’ve tried resetting my password, restarting FoodLion , and even re downloading it but nothing’s working. I know it’s not a me problem because i can login perfectly fine through the food lion website. Please fix this ASAP.

I downloaded FoodLion to my iPhone 8, signed up, could not get my phone number to verify...would freeze FoodLion . Restarted phone and opened FoodLion , offers will not show. Clicked on MVP and app locks up and does nothing.

Good luck reading full item names in list view. They are all cut off. No option for landscape view. Can’t add items to my shopping list if I can’t see the item name! And how about adding a “clip all” button to the MVP coupon section? Ridiculous waste of time to click on each one individually. I like how you can sort results by price. Thanks for that.

These have never worked for me. They just hang up FoodLion when trying to create one. As another mentioned, earned rewards are not redeemable. FoodLion is basically only good for viewing weekly flyer and carrying your MVP.

I was so excited to see that there was a good lion app and it had features like grocery list and coupons etc. I have had FoodLion for two days and have tried to create an account numerous times, at first I thought it was on my end because it said the MVP number was not right so I thought I was typing it in wrong, but now it keeps saying an unexpected problem occurred. For two days?? I even went to Food Lion for groceries so I could get the right MVP number, and it still won’t let me. I guess I’ll delete FoodLion to save storage on my phone.

According to my account, we spent 10$ on pet food, and were supposed to get a 2$ coupon. I went to Food Lion using the same card, and nothing came up at the register or on the kiosk machine. It is shown on my wallet that I have earned 2$ to spend. It didn’t come out as a coupon today when I went shopping either. Why have FoodLion if it doesn’t work, and you can’t redeem your rewards. Seems like a rip off to me or the software isn’t updated right away. I shouldn’t have to prove my rewards by pulling out my cell phone to get the information...it should be loaded onto my savings card.

FoodLion is good and honestly has come a LONG way the past few years. I use it it track my rewards, weekly ads and coupons. It seems that when I add items to my list it takes a long time and the pop up saying that it’s adding to your list lingers so I have to force FoodLion to shut down to clear it. I also wish that you can load your monthly rewards directly in FoodLion instead of it jumping to the webpage. Other than that I really do like it.

Love FoodLion. Helps me find items while in the store by displaying aisle # and I can save my shopping list prior to arriving at this app. You earn reward dollars as you shop.
The only downside is you can’t view full item name in the list view, which I hope is fixed eventually.
Food Lion's app is practically useless, especially coupled with their "so what?" store personnel. Load their coupons to their feckless app, and when you get to the store, the shorthand description of the coupon in the app won't give a clue as to what the item is on which you're supposed to be able to save money. If you're able to decipher the shorthand and buy the item, about 1/3 of the time (no exaggeration), the coupon savings won't be taken off at the cash register. Bottom line is that the coupon "offerings" are just a gimmick to get you into their lair, where you will be fleeced. :-)
I have been shopping at the same foodlion for years and spend at least $250 each week and for months and months my shop and earn has not loaded on my account or my card and they tell me at the store to contact customer service even the cashier said hers never load so it’s a huge problem I spend thousands of dollars there every month and I deserve to have all my rewards they need to correct this issue before I end up being someone else’s loyal customer who does have a rewards program that works or where they work hard to correct if need be. Please foodlion fix this problem ASAP PLEASE
I went to Food Lion in Cramonton got accused of stealing. They lied and said I put steaks in my pocket book and said they had it on camera which was a lie I didn't even have steaks in my hand my husband had picked up 2 but he had put them back because I dont like ribeyes they totally embarrassed myself and my husband and I do believe they were profiling us because we are a mixed couple and I will be contracting my lawyer Monday morning
When I open the app it says needs an update. I hit update. It takes me to app store. Then when I open my app, it repeats. Can’t get past it. Several people in line all said the same thing happened to them. Ive lost my reward points. Very dissatisfied in food lion.

I’m not getting credit for the Groceries I buy from foodlion I have shopped 6-7 times the bar is not moving my rewards were activated since October 1 2021 I have called several times still nothing resolved very dissatisfied with FOODLION NOT HONORING THE REWARDS PROGRAM POINTS. I’m keep calling until I am given the credit for my purchases I have made under program maybe it’s a glitch in the system that needs to be addressed.
The app worked good for a minute, now it keeps shutting down when I click on the mobile app. And I can't get my digital coupons now. Guys what's going on with this app? Shop and Earn rewards were never counted for May and some didn't for June. I have a family of 6 and we spend atleast 200-250 a week at the grocery. I know I bought enough produce, drinks, meats, and frozen foods to cover the shop and earn but the last 2 months nothing has shown up. I contacted customer service but the problem has not been corrected, even after 3 weeks.. Will be calling again tomorrow... Very disappointing especially for large families like mine who count on earning those few dollars to save a little money.
The items on my receipt that qualified for Shop and Earn categories were not added to my May wallet totals. Also, two FL coupons that hadn't expired on that same receipt did not discount the items. Have called customer service multiple times and there is no resolution to correct these multi errors. (Purchases made May, 2021)
