Used to love this app but not anymore

This used to be an amazing app. I was saving so much money on gas and the process was flawless. However, they implemented the “check in” process whereby you skip taking a picture of your receipt and the cash back is supposed to be verified based on the credit card you have on file being used at the pump once you hit check in. Nope!!! It has never worked for me. EVERY single time I have to email the company because I don’t get the gas credit. This is also happening to my referrals. Which means I’m not getting my referral credits. Upside needs to eliminate the “check in” process and go back to taking a picture of the receipt for verification. There was NEVER an issue with that method. I’m seriously considering deleting Upside because I'm buying gas at stations which have higher prices, but will be lower with the credit, however if I’m not getting the credit then I’m better off getting my gas at stations with cheaper gas prices, no app needed!!!! Horrible customer service too! When I emailed them it took me a month of emailing back and forth to get the credit from just once transaction.

Cheap and slow

They charge you a whole dollar to cash out to PayPal unless you are cashing out $15 or more or getting a gift card. Then when you do cash out they give to a notification that states it will take 24-48 hours to transfer your money to PayPal. First of all I know it doesn’t cost them a dollar to cash out small amounts. They say they’re passing SOME of that cost on to us, so they would have us believe that it costs them more than a dollar to transfer funds. Second, if they’re going to charge a whole dollar to transfer to PayPal then they could at least do it quicker than 24-48 hours after you cash out. PayPal only takes 2% and they transfer immediately (30 minutes tops). Lastly, Upside is full of bugs. The first time I claimed an offer Upside told me I had 4 hours to upload a receipt from the gas station I selected. Once I got to the gas station and pumped my gas Upside suddenly crashed and logged me out. I’ve had Upside for months before I actually used it and it had never logged me out before. When I tried to log back in it told me my info was incorrect. So now I had to play the log in game. Once I finally got logged back on I uploaded my receipt and Upside told me I should see what my cash back would be in 24-48 hours. Then it told me 3 different discount amounts that I would be getting. Upside needs A LOT of work.

Used to be good til it stopped working! Updated

Just like the title says. It was good at first but hasn’t worked since October of last year. They keep doing updates but failing to fix the issue of their instant check in. There is no other way to upload a receipt so since November Upside has failed to work. Wish they would at least allow us to upload a receipt manually since the instant check in doesn’t work. So it’s a pointless app now. Waste of space on my phone. Too bad.
—-updated—-
Okay so they updated FINALLY and digital purchases are able to print a receipt and upload - only took them 8 months - but they refused to honor the credit card statements I sent them - at the request of their customer service - from Oct 2020 to May 2021. I was initially told that even the old receipts would be honored if I sent the credit card statements but then when I did send them they said it’s too late - those were old purchases. Which was EXACTLY why I sent them (& was told to send them). Clearly their customer service people aren’t communicating properly to public OR within their own org.

So their customer service is less than poor but when the automated app works as it should - at least it works as it should.

I REALLY wanted to like this app.

I commute 700 mile per week. So believe me when I say that I really wanted to like Upside. I just tried my third attempt at using Upside ....1/3 attempts worked great but I have learned a little so I thought share a review.I gave it two stars because the concept and the ease-of-use for Upside is really exceptional. Upside is not too bulky and very straight forward. I love that you don’t have to give them all this personal info just to use Upside . However, that’s pretty much where the benefit stops. With a little home work you can find out which gas stations will offer some savings. Not all the one listed will actually save you money. The problem is that so many of the gas stations that I see listed on Upside are seriously depleted businesses. I’m not talking about cleanliness. I mean the pumps are broken, printers don’t work, gas is awful and causes your car to run rough... Today (for example) the only station that would offer me an actual savings only had 2 out of the 12 pumps that were operating. And they both had people parked at them while they stood inside talking and doing whatever. Not worth the $1.00 total savings to try to convince them to let me pump my gas.
In the end.....they have plenty of credit cards that earn points that will convert into gift cards. Get one of those, be responsible with it, and get your gas wherever you feel like.

Falsely advertising a Product that isn’t being Honored - FRAUD ALERT

I have been a long time GetUpside customer but just recently I have been getting really short changed on Cashback after the transaction- Just recently I had a Cashback offer of .46 cents off per gallon for 29 gallons but only received .14 cents off a gallon— Then the next day since I was traveling I had a offer for .16 cents off a gallon but only received .9 cents off a gallon so you can see a trend I plan my trips out to get the best Cashback offer also I travel a lot so I’m getting Cashback daily. So after around 4 transactions I was short changed quite a lot I started taking screenshots right before the purchase so the times match my receipts since this deceptive practices recently I have forwarded all my receipts and screenshots to my local state attorney general office which will be conducting an investigation on gas fraud and falsely advertising a product that isn’t being offered I encourage everyone to do this as well so maybe they will get a hint when they try to save 6-7 dollars here and there maybe some fines will stop them — On top of that I have forwarded all my pictures and receipts to the Federal trade commission since they are falsely advertising something that isn’t being honored please please if this happens to you or anyone you know do exactly this every time and this will stop!
A loyal customer with over 10+ referrals

Amazing app!

Awesome app! It really works, no bull. You get cash back on gas, food, and groceries (groceries isn’t available in my area - Houston) you just get on Upside and it acts like a google maps, you find gas stations on the map that participate, mainly I’ve seen shells and Exxon’s. You click the location you want and depending on location it tells you how much money you get back,
Some places 1cent per gallon, more are 6-12 cents per gallon, and I’ve even seen 50-60 cents per gallon back. You just claim, then you have four hours from that moment to pay with card, pump (full price), and then get a receipt and upload and you receive your money 24-48 hours later but I usually receive the next day. That money can be cashed out through PayPal, by check but I think you need at least $15 and they charge $1 fee or through many select gift cards. (Chili’s, iTunes, amc, you name it and they got it for the most part. They have like 20-30 different ones. It’s also cool because I have a company gas card so that means I don’t pay for gas and I fill up always the company truck and am making money off them lol

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND YOU’RE BEING DECEIVED

This company I thought was good until you go to places like where you have to upload a receipt for your cash back. All the ones that are like that when uploading the receipt in 1-4 days you’re to receive cash back. I’ve uploaded all the receipts right then. I normally throw the receipt away after it says successfully uploaded but days go by & it’s still processing for days I reached out to them several times about this issue because the last one I had I kept the receipt okay I contacted them through email informing them that I still have the receipt on hand if I need to upload again even tho it was uploaded already successfully. I still as of yet to get a response back from them but they clearer declined it saying it’s too many days when I’ve reached out to them several times before this was sent. I believe they get the ratings from themselves, friends, & family because this is such bull crap when it comes down to uploading a receipt & cs doesn’t get back to you at plus there’s no way you can contact them periodt sad bad customer service I’m so disappointed with the customer service side they have none I guess because you hit help it gives you FAQ why have away to message if you are going to have the FAQ continue to come up You can’t chat with no live person & it’s sad as sad can be

When it works!?! 2.5 Stars

When it works it’s great and easy to use, but that’s only about 1 in 5 purchases (I’ve only used it a gas stations so far). The rest of the time I get emails saying my cash back couldn’t be processed because they can’t find record of the transaction. I missed out on a handful of cash backs, before I learned to print and keep a receipt for each transaction so I can respond to the rejection email with a picture of the receipt. I get gas 2-3 times a week so it’s a bit of a hassle and waste of paper. They will usually process the cash back once I send them a copy of the receipt (not sure why they don’t just let you upload it from the start to save time)…but even then it’s done outside Upside history so it’s hard to tell if they really do it and it’s usually after you’ve already waited about 3 weeks. I’ve also had one transaction that I’ve emailed them about 6 different times over the last 2 weeks and have yet to get any response to any of the emails.

I’d like to give this more stars because the cash back is great, but there is too much extra work done on my part just to make each transaction process when Upside has the ability to make it easy if it worked properly.

Only a Couple Problems, Otherwise Amazing

I would give this five stars but there are a couple things that are annoying that I just wanted to bring to the attention of the developers. As of a few months ago, my Google login seems to only be good for a few days before I am required to sign in again to Upside . So basically, every time I want to fill my car up about once every 4 to 7 days, I have to sign in with my Google credentials. It used to not be like this and it’s annoying that I have to do that now.

The only other thing that bugs me a bit is that (just before filling up the tank) the list of previously used credit cards are extremely small and it is easy to accidentally click on the wrong credit card. I have my work card and I have a few personal cards that I use. If I accidentally clicked on the wrong card, then I have to use that card or forfeit the claim. For that matter, I also wish that I could edit the list of cards and or just assign names to them such as work, Capitals One, or Chase, etc. The list currently just shows numbers and whether it is Visa or Mastercard and it is sometimes hard to figure out among all my Visas.

😡😡 Updated*** 😡😡

My mom recommended Upside to me, so I thought I’d download it and check it out. Unfortunately it does not work at all in the state I live in, not a big deal. I wanted to delete the account, because I had only downloaded it, never once used it. I have had to jump through a million hoops to gets this account deleted. There is a part that says delete account, it doesn’t delete the account it makes you send them an email. Ok no big deal until it turned into 4, emails I finally get reply. The reply now has me emailing them again, because they need it confirmed. One would think the 4 previous emails would have pretty much confirmed I indeed want this account deleted. I have never had to do all of this just to delete an account it’s ridiculous.

***You can’t make up the nonsense that I have had to go through to delete this account. It was finally deleted, I hope, I refuse to re-download it to see. After all of hoops I jumped through, they still keep emailing me!! I made very sure to make sure I would not receive any emails, I made sure to unsubscribe from them, yet they still keep showing up. Then they sent me a survey email, ok fair enough. However if this small start up trying to get off the ground, actually cared, or read emails, they would know all the answers with out still pestering me, even after I took the blasted survey. Seriously leave me alone please.

Good app but chance to be great

Upside has been fantastic and I had given it 5 stars in the past but ever since the update a few months ago where Upside allowed location check in via GPS at a station and no upload of receipt and they search for your card number in a transaction with that station it hasn’t worked in those instances and no money back is earned and have to weeks later submit the receipt to the support team. It still works flawlessly and quickly if you do it the old way of uploading a receipt. Only issue is when you check in at a station that does it that way you have to do it that way and no option to upload receipt is ever given. So for now I try to avoid stations that use the check in option but point is I shouldn’t have to avoid those and unfortunately those stations tend to be the higher cash back amounts. If the team fixes this issue or at least allow the user to choose the way they would like to do it (either check in or upload receipt) regardless if the station is a check in station, Upside would be back to 5 stars. Otherwise stick with the non check in stations and you will be ok and Upside will work good for you.

Wording error

So Upside is pretty much straight forward and fairly easy to use. The first time I used it I didn’t have any trouble but today, my second attempt, I got an email saying that my offer didn’t go through and started looking closer. Okay, so on Upside it clearly says “tap check in once you make your purchase”; this direction would imply you to “check in” once the transaction has been completed…since now you’ve made your purchase. However, the email states ,in its troubleshoot list, that you must “claim your offer before you pay.” Since that is the case, that particular phrasing needs to be used in Upside to give better understanding to the apps users. My first use I didn’t really understand and accidentally checked in twice once before and after my purchase which explains why it went through.

Slightly annoyed but I’ll know better in the future. So with that the only other complaint is the limited gas stations listed for offers. I haven’t tried to claim any of the cash back; hopefully that’s a smooth process. I liked that you don’t have to give a bunch of info to get started though which is a plus. Gave three stars, hopefully things improve in the next update.

It’s ok.

I’ve made quite a bit of money back with Upside because I claim my work truck, my personal, and my boyfriends work truck. Unfortunately Upside is very deceptive. Not only is it incredibly slow, but when I show a certain amount back, my boyfriend will show more back at the same station on his app under his account. What’s the deal? I purposely go out of my way for good money back and THOSE are the ones that give me issues. I ALWAYS upload a receipt for proof so they can’t tell me they don’t have transaction history. I don’t like how they changed it to the “you are here now” button which forces me to chose a card. I just wait until I’m a couple miles away and then upload my receipt. One time there was .25 back so I went all the way out of my way to get gas and then comes back with “no transaction found”. They then had to manually credit me which they did not credit me the .25 a gallon. It came out to be .15 which was that days offer. And I believe the amount of time to get your money is based on the gas station. I had this one station I went to twice and it took 2 weeks to get any money back from my purchase. Upside is absolute junk and if I wasn’t making so much back on it I’d delete it and tell everyone to do the same.

Be careful they switch offers after you claimed one

Update: still reaching out to customer service and will update what I hear back. My hunch is now that the one offer is gone off the site completely and it was taken off between when I claimed and submitted receipts so my offer defaulted to a nearby place. Just a guess.

I had been doing well and getting cash back for gas and restaurant purchases. However, I went to get a restaurant purchase cash back and claimed the offer at spot A. I submit receipts for the same spot, A. The next day they say I went to the wrong spot and now my history has a restaurant listed that I have never heard of or claimed. They switched the restaurant in my history. Trust me I searched for the spot I wanted and selected it and submitted receipts all for spot A with no question. When I requested help, they reference a gas station and give me 3 cents back but this was a restaurant deal for 7 dollars back. They did not read my request. Previously I received 0.67 back for a restaurant that was supposed to be 21% with a max of 7 dollars. You really need to watch them to be sure it is correct. I think lots of people don’t pay attention and get ripped off. It also seems like a bait and switch that may need to be investigated. Good luck.

Not Applying Correctly

Upside has several issues. I’ll claim an offer for 17 cents for example and then once it’s done processing a few days later it says the cash back wasn’t the same as the day I got gas. So if it was 17 cents that day, when it finally processes it only gives me 2 or 3 cents back instead of what it originally said and there is no way to file a dispute. ALSO, I work through doordash which is why I even downloaded this at all bc they gave us a promo that should give us an extra 20 cents off on top of whatever Upside already gives off and it’s not applying. I got gas yesterday for 17 cents off, 7.74 gallons of gas. With the promo that’s 37 cents off so I should’ve gotten $2.86 back but it didn’t apply the promo and I only got back the 17 cents for $1.32. There is no customer service just a bot that can’t answer these kinds of questions. I use Upside EVERY time I get gas and it’s honestly not worth it if it’s not going to give me my correct cash back. $1 here and there isn’t worth it. I signed up BECAUSE of the doordash promo and it’s not even applying. Until they fix these bugs, I wouldn’t recommend Upside. You have to go out of your way to get the discounts and they don’t even correctly discount so it’s not worth the effort.

If Only Prices We’re Correct

Thought I’d give this a shot after seeing an ad. First 3 stations I tried all had prices dramatically higher than those posted on the GetUpside App ($.25 to $.29), which combined with the rebates made them more expensive than the station closest to my house.

I noticed the disclaimer that prices may not be correct “due to limitations in data reporting.” At the third station (RaceTrac), the GetUpside price was listed as $2.71, so I used the “update” feature to enter the current price ($3.00). Upside price then changed to $2.90 (why?). So I updated it again to $3.00 - still advertised at $2.90. After filling up at my regular station (no rebate, but still cheaper), I noticed that the RaceTrac I just updated was then advertised at $2.75. Writing this review about 30 min. later it now says $2.71. Just checked Google maps, which accurately puts it at $3.

Safe to say the prices in GetUpside are unreliable, to put it generously, which means it’s useless for me. I would have paid more had I used the rebate offers. May try again in case today is an aberration, but gas in DFW hasn’t been below $2.80 in over a month, so I kinda doubt it. Cool idea if they can get beyond their “limitations in data reporting”… perhaps by using the Internet?

We discovered the catch to this app

Their advertisements claim that there’s no ‘catch’ to Upside but we Quickly discovered what the ‘catch’ is… We work on the road so we buy a lot of fuel in a lot of different towns and cities of all different sizes all over the country running three trucks. What we noticed almost immediately was even in a large city it will only show one single station which is almost always priced .40 tto .65 cents a gallon more than the other stations in the area. Of course Upside can afford to give you .25 a gallon back when the stations in their network are charging an average of .50 a gallon more to begin with. That means you actually end up .25 a gallon in the hole, and since you’re paying full price upfront only getting your money back from them later means they actually have that money where they can make interest off of it instead of you having it had you simply gone to a cheaper station in the first place. Plus often seem to be in an out of the way part of town, many are small rundown looking stations in bad areas. If you want to save money on gas there are much better apps for that such as Gas Buddy, etc. Where they simply show you which stations in the area have the cheapest gas to begin with so you get real savings instantly.

“Not a real receipt” issue

Been using Upside for almost a year now. I can tell you that the cents really start to add up over time. Haven’t had any issues until a few months ago when every now and then I wouldn’t receive cash back because of the receipts I’ve submitted not being processed because they deemed it wasn’t a real recipient although all the receipts I’ve submitted were printed at the gas pump and would show the name and address of the gas station I claim, the time, proof of purchase with a debit card, amounts purchased, price per gallon and so on. I keep all of my gas receipts until cash back credit is given in case I have to resubmit it. Not all gas pumps print receipts in the same format but I shouldn’t have to lose out for something beyond my control. Yeahs it’s only a few cents but why participate if you can’t enjoy the perks advertised? I’ve even resubmitted receipts on numerous occasions just to keep getting denied for the same, “It’s not a real receipt” issue and where I live and travel, I don’t see the point of driving 10/15 miles out of my way just to use the “Check In” feature that a select number of gas station have. This should be a feature used all over to prevent this ongoing receipt issue.

It really works!!!

I’ve been using Upside for a little over a month now and I wish I would have found it sooner! You literally open Upside , search for participating gas stations around you, claim an offer, pump gas, and then upload your receipt. Usually within a few hours after you’ll begin to earn cash back! The most I’ve personally seen offered is 19¢ per gallon cash back which is really nice! There are two negatives I have about Upside though which is there have been several instances where the system misread my receipt and I received the wrong amount of cash back. Every time this happened however, I contacted the customer service team and I was issued the correct amount back hassle free! (I always attach my receipt when reaching out just to verify) Also that the only gas stations i seem to see having offers are BP and Circle K. It would definitely be nice to see more of a variety! Although in my area (OH) I’m not able to redeem offers on restaurants, groceries, etc I do recommend Upside for anyone who enjoys getting a little cash back here and there! Patience is key!

Not so great

Downloaded Upside because my co-worker recommended since we drive the company vehicles. First time they give you an extra 15 cents so my cash back was 30 cents. After that it go back to the regular like from 1 cent to 15 cents, and the gas price at the gas stations are never the same as advertised on Upside . No problems since we drive the company vehicles. Then the problem was they ask you to enter the first 6 and last 4 of your credit card on Upside and then you don’t have to submit the receipt and when I checked in at the gas station it didn’t give me the option to scan in the receipt. So 10 days later ( the maximum time to process your claim) they emailed me said they can’t give me the cash back because they can’t find the transaction.

After using Upside for 6 months now. Wish Upside would just let people upload their receipts instead because almost every gas station so far except for Marathon, would process 10 days and email you they can’t find the record. So you would have to email them the receipt. Make sure keep a record of your receipt.

Worst program ever

First let me say the customer service is absolutely herendous. I think the representative that contacted me via email was for a foreign country based on the spelling of her name. When I signed up for my very first gas discount the website said the price of gas is currently $2.60 when I got to the pump five minutes later it was $2.79. Shell gas stations are typically more money to begin with so when I got to the pump the pump shut off at 15 gallons when I re-initiated the pump I wasn’t Happy to see the price of regular unleaded gas $.19 higher then get this app quoted. After pumping gas one would assume that there get up site discount had been applied but when a day later my discount was a total of two dollars, and I pumped 100 gallons, I realized this was not the case. Abigeil, notice the spelling, said she would have to have a supervisor contact me but did understand my point of view. A supervisor never called although was supposed to within seven business days. I recontacted Abigeil and another seven days have since gone by with no supervisor responding. I got 100 gallons of gas so to pay all that extra money because their website misrepresented the current price of gas at that station and for them to be so rude to not bother to contact me after two replies back to them, I would never use this program again so if anyone has any problem with the system be prepared that no one’s going to respond. They could care less.

This delivery driver gives it two thumbs up!

I’m a delivery driver, so you can imagine I go through quite a lot of gas, sometimes filling my tank from empty a couple times a week. With gas being so expensive, it’s awesome that I can earn a few bucks back here and there. Perfect for drivers who spend a lot on gas for high commutes and delivery drivers who don’t want to spend all their hard earned money on gas. I heard a commercial for Upside on the radio one day while on a delivery and I downloaded and used it for every fill up after that. I ran into an issue where there was another gas station added on top of the gas station I was already frequently using and couldn’t figure out why it was rejecting my receipt, their customer service was top notch and they even gave me the money I had missed out on. I would love to continue to use their services but I’m moving to an area where the gas stations have not yet joined the GetUpside action, but when they do, I will be sure to use their services as loyalty as I have in the past.

Wanted to love it

Theoretically this is a great app but I’m disappointed in That the gas prices listed within Upside while looking for a gas station is never the same when I get to the actual gas station. The prices at the actual gas station are higher, sometimes much, then what Upside says. And when the cashback is only $.01-$.03 it doesn’t even make sense to go to that gas station because I can go to a different one and get gas for a cheaper price without the cash back. To me that defeats the purpose. I’m not trying to spend more on gas just to get a gift card with my “savings” when it’s actually not a savings if I can go across the street and get a better price without using the cash back.

For instance today the gas price listed in Upside was 2.41 with .04 cash back because of the July bump. So it would originally just be one cent. But when I arrived at the gas station, the gas was actually 2.60. So with the cash back it goes down to 2.56. The gas station next-door was 2.43. So I still would’ve been better off going to the gas station next-door.

Also please ask van the list of gas stations included. A lot of times I have to go out of my way to get to a participating gas station.

Awesome app and fantastic service

Looks like these guys are just getting started, and already they’ve been able to save me a ton. Other gas discounts I’ve been able to get are 3-5 cents per gallon, but with this, I’ve been able to get as much as 13 cents per gallon - stations are limited, but there’s enough to make it pretty easy to find one.

The only restaurant I’ve seen is Popeyes, so hopefully there will be more coming - but they give as much as 25% back, so that’s an extra meal when you’re feeding a family. All for taking a few seconds to upload your receipt.

But what puts this over the top is the fantastic customer service. I had some issues with the receipts on a few purchases, and the customer service at this app quickly and easily helped me get through them, helping me to claim money that I was certain I wasn’t going to be able to get. They seem to truly care about the customer experience.

Issues as of late

I’ve been using Upside for awhile and a lot more as of late. I always try and find the gas station with the most cash back and fill up there. Two times in a row now I’ve used a gas station right by my job that says $0.16 cash back per gallon. When I finally get the cash back it tells me I only claimed $0.01 cash back per gallon. I contacted Get this app and the we’re very polite, except it took them several days to get back to me. I even had to message them back to see if it was in fact $0.01 cash back and not $0.16 like I thought. They finally replied and assured me it was $0.01 and not $0.16. I figured I read it wrong and when I claimed it and continued with my day. When I claimed it again at the same gas station for around $0.16, the same thing happened and I only received $0.01 cash back. I’ve opened another help ticket but have not heard anything back in 4 days.

I really like Upside and enjoy getting cash back but when I know I claimed a certain amount and I’m told it was only $0.01 cash back, it’s pretty frustrating. It seems like whoever was helping me was busy and didn’t really look into my claim.

Wastes your time & no support

Upside itself seems to work (doesn’t crash, good response time, etc). Unfortunately, the process doesn’t work and wastes your time. I tried to use Upside three times. The first time, the nearest fast station was 4-5 miles away from me and in the wrong direction. Not their fault, per se, but I didn’t want to drive that far for the amount of savings in return. The second time, Upside directed me to a Shell station and was about 2 miles off the route I was using. When I reached the destination, it was an Italian restaurant and no gas stations in the area. Third time, the gas station wouldn’t accept chip credit cards at the pump. That snowballed into a 20+ minute fuel stop with multiple trips inside the store. The gas station provided a receipt that was not accepted by GetUpside. So... this was a giant failed experiment and wastes quite a bit of my time and didn’t produce one penny in discounts. Finally, left a comment with the GetUpside support group and 3 days went by without any indication they were interested in helping fix it (or even that they received the post). They don’t care. So this is a great app as long as you don’t expect any refunds, have ample time to waste and want to be ignored by the GetUpside folks.

Works but only with certain phones

Giving Upside two stars because although it is legit and works, it only seems to work with certain phones. I first downloaded Upside awhile back with my iPhone 7, and it worked perfectly fine. Finally decided to upgrade from a 7 to the new 11 and now I’ve downloaded Upside and it literally will NOT let me log in. I even chose the “forgot password” option so that maybe it would let me reset my password and then it would let me log in, but every time I enter my email it says there is an error and to try again. I deleted Upside thinking there might be a glitch and re-downloaded it. Still cannot log in and cannot even submit my email for the “forgot password” option. I know it has to be that it’s not compatible with this version of the iPhone because I still have my iPhone 7 so I turned it back on and using my WiFi I logged into Upside from the 7. Disappointed that it doesn’t seem to be compatible with certain phones. Guess I will have to discontinue using Upside . If the issue is resolved I will for sure use Upside again because otherwise it’s great.

Worst Customer Service - Junk App

The idea Upside promotes is good but it horribly fails in it’s delivery. I always purchase premium gas for my car. The when I summit my receipt for proof of purchase Upside ALWAYS seems to change the cashback grade to regular. By Upside changing the grade to regular I now result in no cashback since since I also use my fuel rewards card at my local Shell station. If Upside would have processed the offer correctly to begin with my cashback per gallon would have been reduced by 3.5 cents per gallon as per their rules. Even with the cents per gallon reduction I would have still gotten about 8 cents per gallon back. Now because it didn’t process correctly I have to open a support ticket each time with customer support to try and get it fixed. Most of the time they say they are “resubmitting” my receipt for processing and a day later I get an email saying I didn’t earn anything because it processed as regular again. Upside is a WASTE OF TIME!!! You will spend all your time trying to get a CSR to fix your submission with it not actually getting fixed. It seems like “Peggy” is in a foreign country and doesn’t actually understand what it is she is looking at on the receipts.

Great Feedback Story

This is a a great app and it really works every gas purchase offers cash back for your coins to add up. Remember Christmas is around the corner. Anywho... I used Upside recently to find a near by gas station, not realizing I went to the wrong shell gas station which was only 1.0 mile from the one on Upside . The addresses looked similar. Long story short, I got gas at the one that was not on Upside by mistake. Since I noticed I never got paid out, I submitted a ticket for review. The agent Jofrance who replied back took her time to explain that I didn’t go to the gas station from Upside . She even showed the attachment of my receipt showing the adresses in Upside was different than the one I submitted. She also gave me tips on how to carefully make sure the gas station address much the address on Upside . I’m glad that she took her time to throughly explain to me so that I would not be confused. I appreciate the feed back!

This app has so many bugs

I’ve repeatedly had problems with Upside stating one price on the claim but paying out a much less price. When you try to contact anyone there your comment will “fail to send”. If you ever do get a complaint through it is answered by a automatic reply saying someone will get back to you. That is pretty much where it ends. IF you get a reply from there it will just tell you that the person is “escalating it to a further team member” or something to that effect. This is when you will NEVER hear from them again.
I recently claimed an offer on time and it was completely rejected as not being submitted at all or not on time or some excuse which was not the case. I complained not through Upside , because it failed to send, but directly to the service email from a few times before. It’s literally impossible to get feedback on issues through Upside . No one there seems to know or care what’s up at what’s app. Good luck trying to receive your true reward. It’s very frustrating and a bit of a scam. Or perhaps it’s just poorly run and Upside needs updating? I don’t know but it’s not working as they sell it to us!!!
