What a shame. I was really excited for the music feature, that’s the whole reason I bought them. The music does not work at all. It’s supposed to work with Apple Music but it claims there’s a copyright issue so it won’t play your music. The one song it did come with “Jingle bells” crashes MagicStrip when I try to play it.
Aside from the music issue, I also have 3 individual lights that change opposite colors from the wrest of the lights. So if I have it set on white, those three will be yellow. And for the blue cycle those lights black out.
Definitely a waste of time and money. I’m definitely disappointed with this product.

Soooo the lights are awesome. Connecting to MagicStrip was very easy as well. Basically make sure your Bluetooth and WiFi is on for it to connect go to left bars and connect to the first name on there. My big issue is having my Apple Music connect to it. It says my Apple Music Can connect but only one song shows up and then 2 songs that is already on MagicStrip , if we can really get this fixed please I mostly bought this because it could connect to my music id give you guys a 2 but because of how easy it was to connect everything else it’s a 3 star

I loose things very often and when I lost the remote to the LED lights I was a little mad and frustrated but that’s my fault for loosing the remote I was a little more calm cause I knew there was MagicStrip so I didn’t need the remote and I tried using MagicStrip I clicked on all the buttons it said connection success but even though it said that it didn’t work it would be a five-star if you didn’t need the remote to turn on but you need it to turn on

The main reason I bought their product was because I wanted to play my music and have the lights sync to it. I downloaded MagicStrip and I had troubles connecting to the lights but that was simply solved. Although I would recommend better and more helpful instruction in the package. Everything else on MagicStrip works great. However, the music part might need to be reviewed over by the developers. My iTunes music is there but, every time I try to play a song MagicStrip crashes. The music that comes with MagicStrip does work. I imagine it can be something to easily fix. Overall, it doesn’t alter my opinion on the product. The lights work great and the color options along with the dimming works good. Hopefully in the future MagicStrip can be worked on a bit more to enjoy the full effect.

So, the lights themselves are easy to work, and once you play around, they work wonderfully. However, I cannot listen to any of my own music on MagicStrip because of “copyright reasons”... which is an issue, considering a huge reason I bought these particular lights were so I could jam out with them. Another thing is MagicStrip crashes when I go to play the music already there. It says it was fixed, but it was not. If these two issues are fixed, MagicStrip is easily 5 stars, as are the lights.

I just bought these lights and I was instantly wanting to make my own custom colors and I made 2 or 3 but you can’t see the color that you are making which makes everything really difficult. I made quite a few because I kept messing the color up and was sorely disappointed to find out that you can not delete previous custom colors, so now I am stuck with 4 different colors I don’t like and won’t use. I wish there was an option to delete or go back and edit certain colors.

I don’t use Apple Music or keep music in my library, so I can’t speak for the music function. The mic function kinda works for music, though. It’s a little on the sensitive side, so my lights flicker even when it’s nearly silent, which is a little disorienting. I’ll have to play around with it some more to see if I can rectify that. As of right now, I just REALLY want an option to make my own color palettes. It’d be awesome if you could add your own color palettes to the modes, as well. A scheduling functionality would be incredible, too. But I won’t get my hopes up.

I received these lights for Christmas a year ago and they have worked fine for the most part. Some of the bulbs don’t work or don’t display certain colors but it isn’t that big of an issue. I bought two light strips so it would go along the entirety of my wall. The remotes stopped working after a few months but it wasn’t an issue because I downloaded MagicStrip . One of my sensors fried and stopped working so we had to get a replacement. The replacement sensor box does not connect with the new app. I am currently redownloading MagicStrip to see if refreshing it will help. It isn’t a problem with the sensor considering both my sisters and my brothers remote works for it so it must be something with MagicStrip or the bluetooth. Keep this in mind if/when you get a replacement. Bummer that only one side works now :(

The lights are great. Remote works. App connects just fine and the features there are nice. It feels like there is more flexibility with MagicStrip than the remote.
That being said, the music feature is disappointing. The expectation was that the lights would go along with the beat of the song that is currently playing. What you get is a preprogrammed light show with select songs. Most of my library doesn’t show in MagicStrip . You have to play music from MagicStrip for it to work and even then it only works with the two songs that are already there.

I love them BUT there’s two problems. One, if you want these for the music sync, don’t bother. The lights just flags like crazy, meaning they don’t go with any skid you play. You use musi for music? Ha. MagicStrip doesn’t do that— it only plays from Apple Music and I think that’s it. Second, THIS WILL RUIN YOUR WALLS. So fair warning, if you have painted walls, when you decide to take them down for whatever reason, the paint is coming with it. The tape is very sticky. So, he completely sure where you want to place them. I made a mistake in putting them up. They look kind of stupid since I didn’t start and end in the same spot. Just know once you peal the tape and stick it on the wall, it ain’t coming off easy. Other than that, the lights are decent.

I love MagicStrip always connects to my lights with no issues, and I love that they added custom colors. My only issue is that you can’t preview the color on your lights before you add it to your ‘library’ so I never know if the color is right or not, and it never is. If that’s becomes an option MagicStrip will definitely be 5 stars from me. Also a lot of people are saying they can’t play music because of copyright, and I have this issue with lots of apps that require iTunes music so it’s understandable. Also all of my twenty one pilots songs are not copyrighted and work just fine.

When I got these, I was playing around with them for about 10 minutes when I figured out they were unresponsive. I tried everything, from unplugging it all to changing EVERY setting on MagicStrip and my WiFi/Bluetooth etc. what worked for me is you need your WiFi and Bluetooth on on your phone, you go to MagicStrip , press the left column where it has the color wheel, and you press the three lines in the top left and next to the device name, you click the x in the circle. It crashed my app twice but once it worked it finally said connected and I could use my lights again

Figuring out how to set up the strips took a couple minutes but once you get it it’s easy to do from there on out.
My only request for future updates would be better support for multiple strips. For example, maybe allow naming of connections, custom modes, or a better way to have multiple strips at different settings rather than connecting, adjusting, and then disconnecting one at a time.

I enjoy MagicStrip however I feel it can be improved, we all know about the connectivity issue how it will sometimes not find devices or not connect with them, I can see past that. However it would be really nice if you could add a timer feature, for the lights to turn off/on at certain times or a sleep timer mode, that would complete MagicStrip in my opinion.

MagicStrip is okay and it does the trick. I think they should add a feature where you select the time of day you want the lights on and when they should turn off automatically.
I lost my remote and I was so glad that there was an app or else I would have had to buy new lights. MagicStrip allows you to make your own color of lights and there’s a wide range on the color wheel. The music feature isn’t good because I don’t think it allows you to pick your own songs.

Hello Magic Strip.
I love your led lights they are all hung around my room, they’re absolutely amazing. They all stick together, so last night the remote app didn’t work for the strip, there was no connection. I’m not sure why, i unplugged both strips then plugged them in. Nothing, so this morning there is still no connection but the led strips are still on. I’m not sure if it’s because i recently updated to iOS 11. Something, please help.

So I got these lights because of tik tok, and I’ve had them for almost six months now. I LOVE THEM. MagicStrip is so easy to use, when I want to go to bed I can just use my phone which I’m already one. I really only use MagicStrip to change the color. I have not tried the music or sports mode yet, and I have no interest. Side note, the lights and adhesive do not stay up long at least for me; I have them at the top of my wall. MagicStrip sometimes is a bit funky at times, but other than that, the lights connect immediately with MagicStrip , and the color changes as soon as I choose which color I want on MagicStrip . Very recommended.

I’m a huge nerd for lighting and I bought one of these LED strips for under my DJ decks. MagicStrip works flawlessly! Most of the low star reviews are people who don’t understand how to connect, or that think the music syncing option is going to be perfect. If you want to use MagicStrip for basic light control, it is FLAWLESS and works over WiFi so you can control it from anywhere in the house, it’s also extremely low latency at least for me. Absolutely fantastic one of the best I’ve used. Also there are some extra modes in MagicStrip that aren’t on the remote.

iOS 11.2.5 - I’m tech savvy so getting this to work wasn’t to difficult. It did take me about 30mins to mess around with it until i fully understood how MagicStrip works. Connecting it was the hard part and you have to go to the menu and click the device “Htzm” and wait for it to respond back that is connected. From there you have full control. MagicStrip is a little buggy but I learned my way around it by switching the default colors to reset it. Good luck!
PS only reason why there is so many negative stars is because the users didn’t know how to connect. Make sure your WiFi is on! I’m not sure if Bluetooth is needed but I had it on!

Being honest here the LEDs are amazing and MagicStrip works wonderfully... that said I have been wanting to be a able to make fade, jump, and strobe presets with my own color. The preset colors for the fade two colors are good but I don’t have the freedom to actually change the fade to fit my mood for the day. It would be much appreciated if this function were to be added to MagicStrip , that said it’s never had problems with me. And that wraps up this review...
Have a nice day

These lights are amazing and easy to work once connected, but the reason why I bought these LED lights was to play my own music while having the lights pair to it. At first MagicStrip didn’t even have a “select your own music option” so I had to wait till an update. And even with the update and having the ability to play my own music there’s a copyright notification that keeps popping up interfering with me playing music :(

I love the lights and MagicStrip , everything is easy and intuitive. My only concern is that with this latest update the ability to name the device has been taken away. As a household with at least 2 of these relatively close together it makes it difficult to differentiate. Other than that it works for what I want and need. I wish the custom colors were a little easier to get where you wanted but that’s not a biggie
How can I make the lights turn red, white, blue repeat. It only lights pre programmed colors. Can you customize?
