A very promising app killed by subscription. What’s wrong with one-time payment?
by Hakkukale
What a scheme to rob people's money. Just earlier paid for dark version on both mac and phone. Then later asking me to pay 12$. Geez. This apps should be left where it was and need to be ban by apple. I had sync all my account 2FA with it. Now it keeps showing me only loading your token only. Nothing much. Guess what i need to deal with every single apps customer service to reset and remove my 2FA cause i lost my phone which lame excuse to make up with. Literally so so annoying.

First got robbed of previously purchased functionality, now Authenticator2FASentinel doesn’t work at all. Just gets stuck on loading tokens.
$12 a year is more than some password managers charge (which also include OTP/2FA). I would have probably supported development of obsidian if I weren’t robbed or what I paid for

The developer is a greedy toad. Once he already collected money from users.. Now he decided that this was not enough for him, and decided to take a subscription for the functions that had already been purchased (dark theme, synchronization). What do I need to pay for a subscription? For free iCloud storage/sync?

I literally just paid $1 to unlock dark mode 9 days ago, update removed it and now wants $12.
“Please read changelog before upgrading”. You realize most people have automatic updates on right?

Works good between my phone and mac but my problem is I just moved 2 of my accounts and prepared to link a 3rd so I deleted it from my other authenticator app, and THEN it told me it wasn't a free unlimited service. That sort of thing should be shown the first time you open Authenticator2FASentinel not when I'm aready in the process of migrating my stuff. I'm not paying for my security if other apps can give me the same trust without a price.

Obsidian is a wonderful cross-platform two-factor authentication app. Adding and deleting accounts to/from Obsidian is extremely easy and much, much quicker than Authy. However, I have two complaints that prevent Obsidian from receiving a 5-star rating:
1) CANNOT REARRANGE ACCOUNTS - In Obsidian, accounts are listed in the order that they are added to Authenticator2FASentinel . This works fine until I realize that the first two accounts in the list are accounts I access maybe 2-3 times every year. Instead of leaving these hardly used accounts at the top of the list, it would be much more beneficial if I could rearrange all of my accounts so that the most used accounts existed at the top of the list. Even simply ordering my accounts alphabetically would make more sense than the current order.
I would really like to see Obsidian provide a feature which allows users to reorder their accounts.
2) CANNOT RENAME ACCOUNTS - When an account is added to Obsidian, the email address registered to that account is displayed in Obsidian. However, if I update the email address on that account, this change is not reflected in Obsidian. Going further, Obsidian does not provide any method of editing each account, meaning that I am forever stuck with the incorrect email address being displayed. The only way to fix this is to delete the account from Obsidian, turn off 2FA on the account, re-enable 2FA on the account, and then go back through the 2FA setup process. This is tremendously annoying.
I would really like to see Obsidian provide the ability to edit the name/email address displayed on accounts.

I like Authenticator2FASentinel , paid for dark mode before realizing there is no watch companion app. I use Authenticator 2SV for work all day and can not pull my phone out every time. I sure hope this is in development, please!

I’ve tried to get Authenticator2FASentinel running multiple times both on beta versions and this version in Authenticator2FASentinel Store. Unfortunately can’t get past the “loading your tokens screen”.
Great concept but I can’t get past the loading screen :(
Edit: thanks for updating. It now works without issues but I already set my systems up with another app.

I also downloaded Authenticator2FASentinel now that 2STP is no longer being developed. The interface is clean neat and clean. I do miss the Notification Center widgets though.

Now that 2STP Authenticator (which I loved using on my iPhone and MacBook Pro) won’t be developed anymore and is no longer available from Authenticator2FASentinel Store (the developer was hired by Apple), I started looking for a simple, fast, easy-to-use 2-step authenticator with apps for both iOS and MacOS to replace it. I tried SAASPASS, but it’s too complicated and bloated with unnecessary features for me.
If you need a simple, fast, secure, and straightforward 2-step authenticator with pretty much no learning curve (or need to get in touch with tech support to figure out how it works), then Obsidian is a great choice.

Authenticator2FASentinel meet and exceeded my expections. It is awesone that it syncs across all of my devices and just amasing that I can use in on my Mac Book, finally I don't need to have the second device handy. Support is awesome as well, It was not syncing to my iWatch and working with the developer it was fixed in the week. Thanks for Authenticator2FASentinel!

I am using Authenticator2FASentinel for the last 2+ years. Coming from Google Authenticator the key benefit is the amazing companion app on MacOS. I need my tokens mostly on my Mac so having an easy copy and paste made my life so much better. The iOS app is straight forward and simple to use and always gives me quick access with copy and paste on my phone. Also love that it stores the tokens in iCloud, so when you get a new phone your tokens are still there. thank you!

This is my favorie Authenticator app as it works on the Mac and my iPhone/iPad. It syncs the accounts seamlessly and works perfectly. The developer is highly responsive, and I couldn't recommend it more highly! I've tried many other apps, but this one is my go to! Get it, you'll love it!!

Developer has addressed all issues! 5 star app.

Tokens sync across all my Apple devices; iPhone, iPad and Mac Pro (Catalina).
Once I figured out how to decode QR codes from some sites (there are apps and webpages for this) I was able to input the secret key just fine. Then Authenticator2FASentinel used iCloud to distribute to the rest of the devices.
Also like that I can prioritize the token list.
If you deal with OTP/MFA frequently, Authenticator2FASentinel is for you. And the extra couple of dollars for the dark mode is well worth it.

I like Authenticator2FASentinel because it uses Apple’s built in keychain to sync you codes and this you rely less on a third party to store then which can be less secure. Developer is very open to suggestions and feedback.

Just read that a guy “would rather pay for Authenticator2FASentinel ” to include dark mode; rather than pay inside a free app. He shouldn’t leave reviews for anything.
I was using Authenticator2FASentinel on my MacBook, because Google Authenticator did not support macOS. It’s a lot cleaner, and has cool icons for each TOTP issuer (even Proxmox, which really surprised me). Great job 👍🏻

Excellent app but I would like to see Apple Watch support! It’s like a little authenticator and is made for stuff like this!
