What is FirstView?
FirstView® is a mobile application designed for parents to keep track of their student's school bus journey. It provides real-time information about the location of the bus, estimated arrival times, and notifications about delays. The app is a partnership between First Student and the school districts they serve, providing increased transparency and communication for families.
Features
- Live Tracking: The app shows the live location and direction of the student's bus, along with timestamps for school arrivals and departures.
- Predictive Stop Arrival Times: The app uses real-time GPS data to estimate the arrival time of the bus at the student's stop.
- Custom Alerts and Messages: Parents can set up push or email notifications for when the bus is a certain distance or number of minutes away from the stop. They can also receive push messages about delays and the estimated time of arrival.
- Multi-Stop View: Parents can track buses for all their students using individual colors for each student, making it easy to differentiate between stops.
- Additional User Notifications: The main user of the app can connect up to three additional email accounts to receive email alerts.
- Secure and Easy Access: The app requires a password-protected account and the student's ID for set-up, ensuring only authorized users can view the information. Parents can register and log in from their smartphone, tablet, or desktop.
- Dedicated Customer Support: Parents can contact FirstView® customer support by phone, email, or in-app messaging for assistance.

Every day. this app® is your resource for knowing the location of your student’s bus, estimated arrival times at your student’s stop and when your student’s bus arrives or departs their school. this app® is a partnership between First Student and the school districts we serve, bringing increased transparency and communication about the school bus for students and their families. Currently, this app® is only available to a small number of school districts but we are working hard to offer it to as many districts as possible! Please contact your school district or our this app® support team if you would like to know if this app® is available for you. Dedicated Customer Support • Contact this app® Monday – Friday by: - Calling the toll-free phone number 888-889-8920 from 7:00 a.m. EST to 5:00 p.m. EST; - Emailing Customer Support at [email protected]; or - Using the in-app messaging to provide feedback. Live Tracking • The this app® map screen shows you the live location and direction of your student’s bus, your student's stop schedule for the current day and timestamps for school arrivals and departures. Predictive Stop Arrival Times • Analyzing route and real-time GPS data, we determine an estimated time of arrival to your stop provided on the this app® map. Custom Alerts and Messages • Set up push or email notifications alerting you when your student's bus is a chosen distance or number of minutes away from your stop. • Receive push messages about why your student’s bus is late and an estimation of how long it will be delayed. Multi-Stop View • Buses for all your students can be tracked with this app®. Using individual colors for each student, every selected stop appears on the map simultaneously for easy viewing and differentiation. Additional User Notifications • The main user of the this app® app can connect three additional email accounts to receive email alerts. Wonderful problem fix
I was having issues with the time of my daughters drop off ranging 20+ minutes late, emailed feedback with my concerns and they were fantastic to answer and resolve all of the issue! I spoke with Stephen, and he kept me up to date with updates and reasonings. It put me at ease and made me feel more comfortable fo my 4 year olds transportation!

My child’s student number can’t be do me for reason. It’s a great app but I can’t seem to get it to work this year round

When it works it great! Syracuse weather can be extreme so during cold weather or rain it’s great to have this app to gauge when the bus will be arriving to reduce the time we are waiting outside. However when the app isn’t working waiting in the frigid cold is no fun, even when you are properly layered Or missing the bus because the app tells you you have 10 minutes just for it to refresh and show that the bus has already passed.
