What a piece of junk GSHOCKConnected is. First, to clarify, I am not reviewing the watch. The watch is fine. It’s GSHOCKConnected that is garbage. Step count consistently wrong. Other functions make no sense. Casio says you have to have location services on for it to work properly. Why? I have no GPS on this watch! Oh and by the way, it still doesn’t work after turning on location services anyway! I didn’t purchase the watch with any expectations for GSHOCKConnected , but if I had known GSHOCKConnected was this poor, I absolutely would have purchased another watch.

Just got a new G-SHOCK watch, the gba 800 1a. Connected the watch to GSHOCKConnected , everything was working fine. I close GSHOCKConnected and then immediately reopen it and I can’t access any settings under the “watch” tab in the settings screen. I also can’t add or adjust alarms, or adjust any of the world time settings. These settings are completely grayed out and cannot be selected. In order to adjust the previously stated settings, I have to completely disconnect and reconnect the watch to my phone. Extremely disappointed in the state of GSHOCKConnected. Please fix.

Seriously. I’ve bought this for over $900 in late 2018. It’s 2021. It’s still completely, utterly, hopelessly broken. Offline map downloads, doesn’t work. Bring in external GPX data on iOS, still broken. Set points of interest (point memo) without physically being in that spot with the watch, still broken. Integration with offline map support when creating a route, still broken. Goofy low quality maps, basically useless for detailed trail and map routing in the wilderness. Still a thing. Casio, I own 5 G-SHOCK. Please for god sake fix this. My 14 year old could do a better job.

Not sure what is happening. I installed this after purchasing my GG-B100. It worked for the first afternoon but the next morning I went to check if my step count updated. No it didn’t. I tried to delete the watch profile and reconnect but it wouldn’t after several attempts I decided to delete GSHOCKConnected and reinstall it! I have have an IPhone XS with the latest OS (currently 13.1.3) but it won’t uninstall from my Phone! I delete GSHOCKConnected and confirm it. It shows that it is deleted. When I reboot the phone GSHOCKConnected reappears. Only it says G shock and the icon is white. GSHOCKConnected won’t open or do anything! I repeat the process and same result! I can’t get this damm app off of my phone!!! I do not recommend GSHOCKConnected! Watch is great app is horrible!!!!

Several reviews have already stated this: the activity appears on the wrong day on the calendar and the data isn't even correct. App crashes when trying to see "all activity." Step height displays nothing. My phone, the home screen of GSHOCKConnected , and the watch all display the correct day, but on the "today activity" it always displays today's activity on the previous day. It's stupid and apparently has been a problem for a while, why hasn't it been fixed? I bought the thing to use it with its Bluetooth features, I'm disappointed now that it's just a watch with a phone finder. Someone else stated that it is not intuitive: I absolutely concur

When I go to open it, it pops up briefly and then disappears. I don’t think it is my phone because I just switched from the iPhone 11 Pro to the 12 Pro Max and GSHOCKConnected does the same thing on each. Looks like it needs another bug fix. I didn’t have any concerns with GSHOCKConnected when it was working.
**Update**
I just found out Casio scrapped GSHOCKConnected and has created a different one, under a different app name, so GSHOCKConnected is no longer supported. Supposedly the GBA-400+ utilities app is what you can use to take the place of GSHOCKConnected. Haven’t tried it yet...

When I set up GSHOCKConnected it asks about the location whether you want it never always ask or only when the apps open. I put only when the apps open but when I close out GSHOCKConnected it doesn’t shut the location services down I got the blue active draining battery at the top even when I lock the phone and lock screen open it back up close it open or close it it will not release the location services even though I said only one I’m using GSHOCKConnected . If I shut the phone off and turn it back on it stops the issue.I had to put ask in the settings for location services ask for permission in order for it not to do this and I didn’t wanna have to do that but I had to so somebody needs to fix it that should not be happening it’s a glitch a bug

Find my phone does not work when GSHOCKConnected needs to update and it does not automatically update, so when it needs an update and you can't find your phone... you're outta luck because it will not find your phone. I know every app needs an update once a while, but maybe GSHOCKConnected should only uodate once a year, instead of currently once a month.. which is just too much updating during which you will not be able to find your phone through your watches!!

Dear developers of the application, a big request is to make support for old GB 5600b models. I'll explain why now. These watches are almost eternal, and when people buy them, they plan to use them for a very long time, but unfortunately those applications that were created for them now do not work. Thus, the trust in your company is undermined, since this state of affairs shows your disrespect for your users and the trust that they have shown by choosing your brand. A lot of people are waiting for your update where support for old models will be added. Thank you very much and we will hope that they will hear us.

I like the overall aesthetic and group of features that GSHOCKConnected offers. However, when I try to set the world timers on my GW-B5600, something weird happens.

GSHOCKConnected seems to have no problem setting setting the cities I choose and they all show up on my watch. The problem arises when I disconnect from my phone. When I reconnect and start up GSHOCKConnected , it randomly duplicates the cities, which of course also erases a couple of cities. The only way I was able to get these to stick was to set the cities, unpair the watch from GSHOCKConnected completely, then re-pair the watch with GSHOCKConnected .

Overall, I do like this watch. I have not at all tested it to extreme conditions, although it has been in salt water and been dropped a few times. I primarily wear it in rotation with an even MORE basic G-Shock (23 years+). The biggest ‘con’ for me, is that it will stop entirely if out of bright light for not even 48 hours, when it is SUPPOSED to run for a month with no charging. As long as I wear it exposed - or set it on a window (@ 4 hours+) every couple of days, it continues to work well. The smartphone app is definitely a, “2nd kind of cool” to quote Nuttin’ Fancy, and could be useful if you do a fair amount of flight travel.

Overall it’s a clean design and has a good idea. I love the watch, but have only been able to sync the watch and app together maybe 3 times because GSHOCKConnected crashes and takes days to let you back in without force closing. Once it works it’s great. However, even with language set, the calendar still shows a different language and I haven no idea what that part of GSHOCKConnected says but it looks interesting. Sent in a request multiple times and get the same response to call a number no one answers. Needs cloud backup and health kit accessibility.

Love the watch (mtg-b2000). GSHOCKConnected is slick and does a good job setting up the watch. One of the main reasons for buying this non-gps watch for me is the fact that it has excellent battery management. I would really like to see improved functions for reading state and change to battery. The small indicator on GSHOCKConnected is the only way to know the state of the battery and it could be enhanced to show a larger icon with more information and somehow show changes (daily/weekly) as it would help me understand how I can maintain the battery level needed.
Some of the language in GSHOCKConnected is confusing in English “watch is normal” etc, and the Log could be enhanced with more details as to what was corrected “adjusted 3 seconds”. The analog animations of time changes are cool both on the watch and in GSHOCKConnected . I would love to see GSHOCKConnected record and reflect on changes when the watch is not connected to GSHOCKConnected (connections to radio band when/where/how much adjustment).

I have found GSHOCKConnected generally works well but I have not been able to set location for tide and moon graph for my new Rangeman. I imagine this might be a problem with GSHOCKConnected on iPhone X but not sure. I can type in a location and see on map, but there is no finalize selection button.

The problem seems to be that because I don’t live near the ocean there is not an available set point. I zoomed out to see the Pacific Coast and found I could select a location and set there (although I think moon and tide should be just at set locations on the coast of an ocean...)

I have the metal g shock square and I love GSHOCKConnected because a lot of the functionality of the watch can be controlled and configured using GSHOCKConnected instead of fumbling with the buttons.
With that said, since unlike the other tough solar gshock squares which have the battery indicator on the watch itself, it would be great if the battery indicator on the phone was better. More specifically it would be appreciated if the icon was bigger and easier to read, if percentages of charge could be displayed that would also be fantastic!

Unfortunately for a few days my GMW-B500 all metal g syncs great for a few days, and then it stop syncing for time correction. I have an iPhones 10S, and is fully compatible with the GShock app. Unfortunately I cannot get it to reliably synch for more than a few weeks. Casio needs to update to fix this connectivity issue!! Sorely disappointed

I coach soccer for a living and naturally, I find myself using my watch for timed exercises. My Apple Watch would always randomly stop my timer and it was super annoying. I liked the fitness/step tracking ability of the Apple Watch, but I grew up loving g-Shock. When my wife got me this watch and I saw all the tracking and Bluetooth features, i was stoked! So far it is great. Worth more than its msrp!

1 Star because GSHOCKConnected does migrate steps from the watch to GSHOCKConnected . But the dates the steps were taken are off and this has been an issue for awhile. Very disappointing this hasn’t been fixed yet. If I want to look at steps for Saturday I have to look at the Friday before. On calendar mode it also doesn’t display the correct day on my app. I don’t know what the map function is supposed to do. Seems stuck all the time. This is a great idea for an app. I wish it would get fixed. Otherwise it’s a pretty useless, awful app

Casio rangeman is everything an outdoors man or explorer could want. GPS, route setting, sunrise, sunset data, high tide. I love the maps on the phone app that shows the route walked on, complete with elevation changes. This watch is very versatile. I especially like the “find my phone” option. If I can’t find my phone, I click the button, and bam.....I hear my phone going off to some cool rock song I selected. I had my Casio pathfinder for ten year and only replaced the band twice. Let’s see what the rangeman can do.

I got this watch about a week ago and I love it! I was having some of my other watches worked on Eddie friend of mine‘s jewelry shop. He showed me this G-Shock and it is a great watch! After playing with it for about half an hour I bought it immediately. I have been wearing it now for about a week and getting more familiar with it.I love the way it looks and wears. It keeps beautiful time and syncs with GSHOCKConnected perfectly. I hope to enjoy this watch for a number of years the main part of my connect and to keep it in my rotation of the watches I wear most often. Highly recommended.

I really like the sturdiness tough look & I love the bulky look it has , it’s a good. luxury jewelry watch that has it’s toughness with the tough solar is a plus . Wearing this watch makes me feel happy on a bad day , All I have to do is look down at my watch and the feeling of joy it brings the way it shines in the light like white gold . And it’s easy to clean to keep the high maintenance . Plus it’s affordable it’s not like you have to pay a grand for something to look super good . Rolexes are too much and you can crack the Crystal , unlike at a G steel G shock it’s meant to take a beating and keeps its toughness . Thanks 😊 I enjoy everyday of it brings me .

This is one of the best apps I've seen for the iPhone. Not only does it add unique and very useful functionality to G-Shock watches like my GPR-B1000, but it does so with a great user interface that is simultaneously functional and cool. It's a great example of G-Shock style! It is perfectly in sync with the design principles of these great watches which I've been collecting for decades.

Lately it has been sending messages that support will be ending and trying to get me to migrate to the Casio Watches app as a replacement. I already have that app installed to sync the time on my Oceanus watch. By comparison to G-Shock Connected, Casio Watches is just a soulless
advertising tool with a bad user interface.

Here's a suggestion from a dedicated Casio watch fan who doesn't need to see aggressive ads to buy your excellent products (I've purchased 10+ already). Instead of deprecating G-Shock Connected, put the team who developed it in charge of redesigning and rewriting the Casio Watches app so it reflects your company values and serves as a great extension of your fine watches.

Thanks so much for making these watches blue tooth compatible with an app and everything ya’ll. I’ve always been a g-shock guy (my dad gave me my first 5600 in the 80’s) and I plan to one day get a Mr. G. Really a big fan of the “Hana Basara” and the MRGB2000b-1A4. The fact that you have a digital interface, with all the options to update and monitor the time, combined with proper Japanese engineering, quality and style is exactly what will put you over the top of the entire market. Thanks for keeping me honest and being the best watch company on the face of the planet. My friend who owns several high-end Swiss watches turned green with envy when I set my watch with my phone. 😂 Keep doing it! And if you need a good mascot to advertise let me know. 😁
