DO NOT USE

If you are forgetful in even the slightest bit (most humans are) do not use PangoParking.

For a $6 charge, I was charged $85 because I did not hit the stop button. In this day and age GPS can track any movement whatsoever.

They bank off of this and they leverage it - that is why the paid feature will cancel your parking if you leave the location.

Horrible app that rarely works

I’ve tried to pay for parking with PangoParking 5 times and only succeeded twice. PangoParking becomes unresponsive at any one of the multiple steps required to pay for parking. Be sure you carry extra quarters in your car because you will need them

Current version is an improvement

I improved my rating of PangoParking since the last time I commented (terrible upgrade implementation -- see below), however I agree with a lot of other users that it could be easier. Many things are not intuitive -- and could remember your last spot, etc. They do seem to be making it better though. And it is a lot better than the alternative of carrying a sack of quarters.

My one complaint is that We have two cars and two drivers. We would like to both be able to park at the same time and also be able to take each other's cars. we cannot do that on the current implementation. They say we can, and I've been in contact with them, but the functionality doesn't seem to be there on my app. And the dial-in alternative, while better than nothing, has the same text recognition issue every time I use it (always works on the third entry of the exact same responses).

Comment on prior version implementation (one star):

Makes me mad. I expect I'll get a ticket before yesterday's version downloads.

And why not build in an auto downloader if it's a required update. ?

SCAM, THEY WORK WITH TOWING COMPANIES!!!!!!

Worst parking areas, I paid for my parking spot and I got towed and they couldn’t do anything about it, so if you’re ready to PAY THE TOWING COMPANY good luck The rep didn’t help or nothing. Highly would recommend you to park somewhere else And yes I was in the zone

Garbage

Recently on a trip to Westchester County New York for work, I was prompted “suggested” by signs posted in a public/private parking lot in Bronxville NY to download the Pango app. First problem... PangoParking itself requires attachment to funds to be used (which makes it NOT a free app). Next, after being advised by an employee of the county that I was not allowed to park in the lot (until after 3:00 pm), I moved my car... (No where does the sign for PangoParking say hours of necessary paid parking or even if there are hours of allowed paid parking). This is a scam... thirdly I contacted customer service requesting refund of deposited funds, where I was told, “ funds will be refunded in 20 business days (which seems incredibly long for electronically deposited funds), minus a “$0.75 transaction fee”. For what? I would like to make this aware to anyone considering PangoParking before download. I will update if/when funds are actually returned to my “Chase Bank card”. I will consider lodging a complaint to “Apple Pay “, which I used for this transaction, and “chase bank”, and “VISA”, which are involved due to way my electronic payment is setup.

First time use and it works great

I tried to pay with a card on the kiosk and yet again network is down. I have no cash and I decide it's time to try PangoParking . I download PangoParking which only took 3 minutes and I only had two bars on my phone. Once downloaded I signed up and was offered the monthly charges for notifications when parking and blah blah blah. Didn't want it so I turned it off. That took all of four clicks. Top left corner hit the three lines. Went into settings->pango save-> turned it off. Don't know why other reviews are so bad. PangoParking is awesome.
It also gives you your money back if you leave your spot early. I paid 3.75 when I first parked and when I stopped parking it knew I over paid and only charged me 1.25. Never using the Kiosks again.

Exceptionally Nonfunctional

-I park at 6:40 PM.
-The meters are running until 7:00 PM.
-Realize I have no change, and reluctantly try to use Pango.
-Pango cannot be used because it will not let me select an amount of time.
-Spend several minutes trying to reach a customer service rep, and when I do, he tells me select an amount of time because meters are ending soon.
-Said rep does not respond when I point out that there is a 20 minute window in which I risk a ticket because I cannot pay for my spot, and that I’ve gotten a ticket in the past when attempting to use Pango in the same town in a similar situation.
-The chat automatically ends because I “have not been active” despite waiting for the rep to respond.

People parking shortly before a meter stops running for the day still obviously need to pay for the time before the meter stops, and it is absolutely wild that a parking app is unable to account for that, and renders itself unusable.

I’m also concerned that PangoParking is generating false reviews. If you view reviews by “most recent”, you will see a sporadic amount of generally one star reviews spanning several days or weeks. Then, every few weeks or month, multiple five star reviews all posted within a day or two of each other will appear, even though PangoParking regularly goes days without a singular review.

Worked well in the past, but doesn't work well anymore

In the past, it has worked well, but the past month or so, it has required me to enter my credit card number every time I need to park, which is more frustrating than it is worth. I'm not sure why it can't remember my credit card number, but you might as well pass on using PangoParking.

Update Aug. 1st: PangoParking has gone through another transformation, and won't respond. Horrible app, not worth the trouble

Update 15FEB18: gave it another try because the developer said they had made improvements, it worked better for a time, but it grew increasingly unresponsive. It seems like it is a scam to get users to pay monthly “Park save” memberships because it tries to ask you every login to “enroll in Park save” - which has an associated monthly fee. Just use the parking terminals, it isn’t worth getting scammed, charged for every session, and forgetting to turn it off.

Worst customer service

I had to use this due to an apartment using their services for guest parking. In order for me to use this service they had the auto so my guest would not be towed. I have since moved to this location. I requested a refund for unused wallet account. It took three months to get a refund. I contacted over the holidays and just receiving a credit. They did not refund the balance but a portion. Then PangoParking charged me again. Now the clock ticks for another three months. Their practices and customer service is really awful and after contacting Pango several times they have since not responded. I had to dispute the charge through my bank which takes more time out of my day for something that can be fix rather quickly. If you can do not download PangoParking or watch them carefully. They will drain your account if your not watching. Very awful customer service. 1 Star is too much.

Be warned - Check your statements for accurate charges

I have used Pango for years with great success, however the most recent version defaults to adding you to "Pango Save", which cost you a few dollars a month to send you alerts about your parking sessions expiring. I don't believe local municipalities will allow that for long because many people will not notice.

Updating - taking away one star for lost usability and added difficulty when the he new version. I wish my city had another option.

Update #2-now they are sending solicitation emails with no unsubscribe option. I want to root for them but they are making it really hard.

Update #3 -Pango seems to have challenges this year with billing and reporting, where quite a few transactions were charged without appearing in my parking history, and some parking entries were never charged. A 30% mis-match rate suggests some back-end payment and reporting issues. Lost a star.

Update #4 - I had called Pango support about the billing inconsistencies and they had me email details to a help address. I quickly got a response, and their support says all inquiries will be answered in 48 hours. 3 business days (5 full days) and no response, other than an automated response to Update #3 asking to send them details and if I wanted to revise my review.

Nobody to help if the site has an error after hours

I have been using PangoParking for months and usually it works fine, but tonight PangoParking let me go through all the regular steps and right when I hit confirm it gave an error message saying there was no endpoint listening that could accept this message - clearly a network error. I called the customer service number and was put on hold by a machine and kept on hold for several minutes without being given a wait time or option to get a call back. I finally hung up and tried to use the chat option but it said no agents are available to chat, with an option to leave a message so I did that. Unfortunately this neighborhood tows so I’m left without a resolution for the night. I pay Pango so much in parking fees monthly but here I am with not a single person that I can contact?

Convenient but could improve

PangoParking works for me, but it needs one kinda obvious improvement. Once in a while I forget to STOP paying when I’m done parking. Even though PangoParking uses GPS (so, presumably it knows when I drive away), it keeps charging me for parking. Would be better if it automatically stopped paying when I drive away.

Overcharged due to “weak signal”

My complex forces us to have visitors use Pango to come see us, not thrilled with that but it’s whatever. Been using it with no issues, until today. Had a friend visit, stay for a few hours and I deactivated the session when she left. Apparently, even though I got the pop up notification that the session confirmed stop, it didn’t actually stop. So I get a text letting me know about a low balance which is confusing because I just topped off. Go to check and the reservation was STILL GOING. When I stopped it and contacted support, they said they can’t do anything but it happens due to weak signal or something and that’s why they send out email confirms. I’ve only been using this system for three weeks now, utilizing it about 5 times so far.
Beyond that, PangoParking isn’t the most user friendly to navigate.

Incorrectly charges

My parking was $2 but when I checked my statement the next day, I was charged the max amount for parking. Nowhere on my account does it say I was charged incorrectly as it shows my charge was “$2...” but when I look at my statement, it shows $13. Be warned, check your statements. PangoParking definitely needs to be audited. Everyone else that parked with me also was charged the MAX parking fee as well. It also forces you to enter your cc info and address for some reason. Any other method forces you to have a continuous balance once your balance gets “low”. Everyone that used PangoParking at the location we were got charged incorrectly. This is not ok especially for the location we parked at, I can only imagine the people who are not aware of what is happening or can’t help themselves remedy the issue.

Ugh.

Seriously. I had no problems getting set up or even buying the first amount of parking time. Now, conveniently, when I open PangoParking to extend my parking, all of a sudden the same credit card I purchased time with isn't a valid number and I have to run to my car to put quarters in the meter (and yes, the numbers are correct and there's money in the account). Of course there's a ticket on the windshield by the time I get there. Time stamped exactly one minute after my meter ran up (while I was as busy hurtling down the stairs of my building to pay the meter bc this friggin terrible app doesn't work). Not worth the time. Not worth the headache. I'd suggest you let your greedy city parking people know there are better apps for metered parking.

PangoParking got 1 star bc I can't tell you how terrible it is with 0 stars

AWFUL

I downloaded PangoParking out of convenience and used it only two times. Now, I'm constantly charged for "using" this parking service but I haven't actually used PangoParking in months. My question is, do they take your credit card information and charge you randomly or do they give it out for others to use, because the amounts charged are odd. Like, $4.62 and $3.27. Either way, it would be a phenomenal service if they didn't hit my card every now and then but since they do, I'm reporting them for fraudulent activity and contacting customer service to be refunded all of my missing dollars since I have the bank statements to prove it. My advice is stay FAR away from PangoParking and it's creators. Hopefully you won't need to learn the hard way like myself (and apparently many others).

Pango App Is Okay, Update Is a Scam

While I enjoy the convenience of parking with Pango, I was unable to use the old version while being pestered with several messages to download the new one. In other words, I was coerced into upgrading.
4.0 was very difficult to download, and, once opened, got me to automatically buy an extra feature I didn't want, Pango Save, which directs the user to parking lots and sends parking-term alerts for an extra 3.99 a month.
I only use Pango for on-street parking, and I didn't want this. I had to spend an hour on the phone with Pango for them to talk me through how to dis-enroll. If Pango wants people to pay more for PangoParking , they should include the extra in the price, not snrakily charge extra fees every month. Pango needs to clean up its act. I hope App Store people are reading this!

TRASH

There should be a ZERO star option for trash apps like this. I got an $80 ticket due to PangoParking not informing me I can only renew my space twice in a row. I was unable to get to my car fast enough due to PANGO not warning I can only renew my parking space up to two times, and got a ticket within 5 minutes of the meter expiring. PangoParking should at least inform its customers of this in the video as they seem to feel it's not necessary to provide any written instructions (and only a video). PangoParking is total trash and ended up costing me an $80 ticket.

Addition: There was no time limit posted to the meter. I took photos and brought it to court. My ticket was dismissed after I was told by the court about all the problems with the Pango app. So you are actually incorrect.

Zero stars

Significant change!

The old app was mediocre.

This one is awful!

It literally caused me to cancel my account. Just a terrible app, terrible customer service, but at least it was rolled out horribly.

Frankly PangoParking feels like a scam - and I am not convinced it isn't. Upgrading to this one wiped out my payment information. When I called to try and park the automated system wouldn't let me so I was connected to a live person who was asking questions about my credit card.

This does not seem like the type of operation in which you should entrust your credit card.

And finally, on the customer service front, I emailed customer service - which is one of the options. It bounced back as undeliverable.

Update: they are now spam texting me. I used to like Pango. Now I loathe pango. Terrible management of this.

New update. February 16, 2017. Logged out of app. Asking again for payment info. Website doesn't exist/work. Phone automated help system is even crappier than PangoParking ...and that takes work.

Horrible customer service and policies

Avoid PangoParking ! Find a different way to park! Terribly designed user experience, and the ridiculous service policies are not in the favor of the customer. It’s like they don’t want to stay in business.

I used PangoParking to park for 15 minutes at a university campus. I funded PangoParking wallet $15 because PangoParking wouldn’t let me pay otherwise. I no longer need PangoParking and contacted customer service for a refund and to close the account. They want to keep 5%, and refuse to waive the fee. They give some excuse about having to do the transaction manually as if that justifies the fee, and also say there are other payment options that don’t require funding the wallet - which was not clear at all in PangoParking . They’ve refused to budge and have had my money for over a month. Absurd, just waive the fee!

They also said I couldn’t reopen an account if I close mine - such an anachronistic technology limitation only means they permanently lose customers (or just an unwise business practice).

UPDATE: after informing Pango that I was disputing the charge with the credit card company, they gave me a call and waived the fee. It was far too difficult to get them to return my property, and it should never have been a big deal in the first place.

Exactly what I need right now

Find an available place to park by checking through PangoParking . Park your car, open PangoParking again, select your vehicle if you have more than one registered , start your parking session, go doing your work , return back to the car and close the parking session, pay with your credit card or Apple Pay and drive away . That's all

Pango Shakes You Down

PangoParking did not work. I was ordered to pay for a full day of parking when I was only going to be in the spot for 40 minutes. There was no timer anywhere on my screen, no ‘stop parking’ button, it just looked to me like I ‘had’ to buy the whole 7 hours.

When I contacted support they said there was no way they could give me my money back not because it was impossible but because ‘there’s no way to prove I wasn’t there the whole time’ the problem wasn’t that I was ‘there’ the problem was that their app literally didn’t work and I couldn’t turn it off, how is that my fault?

Customer service really is a joke. The ‘US Support Team’ spoke in such bad broken English I had to enlist help to decipher their email.

PangoParking feels cheap and scammy, and since you guys got about $10 out of me when it should have been closer to $2 I’d say you’ve succeeded. Congrats! From now on I’ll be avoiding those street spots just so I don’t have to deal with this garbage app.

Love this app

PangoParking works great! I am able to conveniently park without worrying about having cash on hand, or even a credit card. We went to a baseball game and were starting to worry about where to park. We found a lot with a Pango meter. My husband started reaching for his wallet. I told him that I had PangoParking. He moved aside, I tapped in the zone, and we were quickly on our way!

Perfect when you do not have change in your pocket

In this day Pango offers convenience instead of getting change together for the meter and you can always add time on the meter when needed where you are at instead of being frustrated with the fear of a parking ticket. Truly frustrating for the Meter Maid

Be aware hard to cancel monthly auto pay

Be aware it’s ever hard to cancel monthly auto pay. There are better service than this one that’s why Phoenix switch all its meters.

I’ve been try to cancel the auto pay for months and still get charged

In response to your response this is not true I have emails from your company that say that You cannot cancel over the phone and only over PangoParking which if you don’t have an iPhone you can’t do it online or over the phone or through email And when request for a text to verify the account it does not ever come through

By

No GPS, no parking

This always happens. If you don’t have a gps PangoParking won’t let you add the parking zone number. Another example, another person is parking my car. I want to pay remotely because it’s my car. The system won’t let you because the gps doesn’t locate you in that zone. For me is useless. ParkMobile is by far way better. I can pay for my car to be parked in DC while I’m in Virginia. Why I want it that way? Because my mom borrows my car sometimes and her phone is a basic flip phone. So she tells me the zone and I pay for it. With with PangoParking you can’t do that.

Awesomely Convenient Way to Park

Paying for parking has never been easier and more convenient. I would highly recommend downloading the Pango app and experiencing it time-saving features, including space reservation, pay on-the-go without searching for change or credit cards, and extending park time

Eurenice HOUNDJAHOUE   1 year ago

On April 10th, 2023 I downloaded the app and tried to pay for parking but the app required that I make a deposit in the in-app wallet to make sure that I have money in case my parking runs out. I purchased a permit for 3 days which I paid for with my bank card. So I never used the funds from the in-app wallet. I requested a refund for the funds in the in-app wallet on the same day. I was told that it was their policy to process refunds within 20 days. I reached out again 2 weeks later to check on the refund and was told I had to count 20 business days. Last Friday, May 5th made the 20th business day. I reached out on Saturday and was asked for the account number as if I was not replying in the same message thread. I sent out the details they requested on Monday and asked for an update later that day, but nothing. Now I am being ignored. I really think this business has unappealing practices; as if they are counting on me to forget about the money I deposited. I don't know of anyone who needs 20 days to refund your money, especially when you have not needed it. I just want my money back. I am not even interested in using the app again. Just my money back.
