I did set everything up on my laptop first because there are questions that you have to answer. You also have to download a file and allow the camera and microphone access. Set up took me about 30 minutes only because I forgot my password and had to call in for tech support and have it reset. Once I logged in and the tech support walked me through it, it was very easy. You do have to put a type of payment in before you see the doctor. I also downloaded UPMCAnywhereCare on my iPhone and it took less than 2 minutes to see the doctor. She called in the scripts right away and they were ready for pick up in a half an hour at the pharmacy.
I love UPMCAnywhereCare!!!

I got rejected 3 times upon trying to be seen for my menorrhagia. I missed work and I was originally going to go to the urgent care near my house but my pain wasn’t subsiding enough for me to feel comfortable enough driving to it. I tried this instead. I waited an hour and was rejected 3 different times with menorrhagia as my reason for being seen. I then had to force myself to go to urgent care where I sat buckled over in pain until I was called. Recommended ibuprofen and given a doctors note. $80 for that. Which is why I tried UPMCAnywhereCare . I figured I’d save a few bucks as I’ve dealt with this since I got a menstrual period and knew all I would get was OTC pain meds and “hope you feel better soon.” I’m used to that by now, but I’m really disappointed that not one doctor took me. Makes it seem like upmc doesn’t care about women’s health. It’s a shame.

I have UPMC insurance which really pushes you to go to urgent care which for me has mixed results... usually I have seen people that are not sure how diagnose or have misdiagnosed. Also, I always feel like when I leave I probably contracted something worse then what I had when I went in. This allows me to sit on my couch and quickly see someone that has always seemed more knowledgeable then the urgent care people I have interacted with. The only thing I would also mention is that usually I have an idea what’s wrong with me when I call which may assist with things. Overall it’s the best option for minor issues.

I had a dental issue on Thanksgiving Day and other than going to the ER my options were limited. I was worried because it was dental related and not a normal medical procedure but I figured what the heck it can’t hurt to try and I’m glad I did. I did my virtual visit from my IPad, it took some time to connect with a person so just be patient. The Physician Assistant was extremely nice, listened to everything I had going on was and addressed my problem so I could celebrate Turkey-day instead of sitting in an ER or not addressing the problem and it getting worse.

Honestly, this truly might be the greatest app to ever be created. It was seriously so easy that it was almost too good to be true. I was able to be seen my a doctor, have my symptoms evaluated, and pick up prescriptions all in less than an hour. And all of this took place right on my phone. Not to mention—on a SUNDAY afternoon! No trip to the ER that would take up my entire day. No dragging my kids with me to see a doctor. Quick and easy and I’m already on my way to feeling better. Thank you UPMC!

So right now this Write a Review box requires me to use the virtual keyboard on my iPad rather than the Bluetooth keyboard. Also when setting up the virtual appointment the text entry box with the switch signifying that I read and understood the privacy agreement was obscured by the green continue button. Also, my appointment would have been delayed by 30 minutes if I even tried to quickly scan the legal document that is the privacy agreement. I’m dropping the 3 stars for the green continue button obscuring the switch for privacy agreement- if I hadn’t managed to switch it to yes I wouldn’t have been able to use my iPad for the visit.
The lack of Bluetooth keyboard support here may not be your fault.

There are certain doctors on UPMCAnywhereCare who won’t even let you speak. You’re told to use UPMCAnywhereCare instead of wasting a trip to urgent care and it’s cheaper for your insurance. Brittany bohem on here is just rude and crude any time I’ve gotten her. She told me tonight they don’t treat my condition when just a few weeks ago they did. Instead she’s left me with a visit for nothing, even more frustrated, and going to urgent care in person. All I need is an antibiotic. She is truly unprofessional. They need to have more than one doctor on call over night so we have a choice. She is AWFUL AND ALWAYS ON. They have no option for on app comments or concerns so I suppose it goes here. I woke up with a swollen cheek this morning from an abscessed tooth. I was dreading taking my two toddlers to an urgent care center. I downloaded the UPMC AnywhereCare app, signed up, and saw a provider within 20 minutes. The RPN I spoke with was very kind and patient, especially when my kids were poking their faces in the screen and asking a billion questions. Lol
She sent my prescription to my pharmacy immediately after the visit ended.

Considering how technology can make life easier, I found the setup of UPMCAnywhereCare disconnected and error prone.
After providing my UPMC insurance information to this UPMC Anywhere Care app, I was troubled that I had to manually enter every last character of my insured dependent children’s information into UPMCAnywhereCare. UPMCAnywhereCare DID take the time to connect with my insurance to notify me that I had made an error, but didn’t provide the opportunity to simply import my dependent children’s insurance information correctly and in one step.

I have not yet had the need to use UPMCAnywhereCare for its primary purpose, so I cannot comment on it’s performance otherwise.

We had Samantha Ohl she was an absolute dynamite physician! Our two year old needed care for a history of health issues in her eye. Sami was so knowledgeable and extremely kind and sweet to our toddler. Our little girl was smiling at Sami on the virtual screen. We received the care we needed in the comfort of our home and we’re grateful for UPMC virtual child care and Sami. Thank you!!

UPMCAnywhereCare may have saved my life and others, by allowing a doc to video chat with me and assess my situation, which meant I didn’t have to go and possibly expose other patients. I’m in an emergency situation and would have gone to the ER, except I had the smarts to call first. Upon hearing my story, the nurse referred me to UPMCAnywhereCare. I downloaded it quickly, it was easy to use, and it ran me 60 bucks. I highly recommend this for anyone trying to screen or test for COVID-19.

I’m a couple hours from home. I was nervous about getting in the car, going to the nearest ER, sitting for hours, and maybe getting a massive bill if I didn’t find the right provider in my network.

I got connected with a Dr very quickly (couple minutes!), she was very helpful, and I saved all that anxiety about where to go and what the bill would look like.

I was very impressed with the ease and timely ness off our visit. The doctor was able to view my daughter’s information and discuss what treatment was best for her. This was definitely a better option then taking her anywhere and having the possibility of her catching something additional. I will recommend this to everyone I speak to in need of a visit. Also the doctor was great to talk to - made us feel at ease going forward.

UPMCAnywhereCare is an absolute godsend. Less than two hours from the time I first noticed UTI symptoms to having a filled prescription in hand (at 11:30pm)! Nurse practitioner was friendly and knowledgeable, and while she was quick, I also feel like she took adequate time to explain options and medications. I don’t want to think about what shape I’d be in if I’d had to wait for urgent care or my doctor’s office to open the next morning.

Setting up UPMCAnywhereCare is very easy. I just had to input a few personal details (address, phone number, insurance), and I was ready to go.

When requesting an appointment with the doctor, all you have to do is type why you’re requesting an appointment, your pharmacy, and if there are any medical issues they should know. I also opted to add pictures of the problem.

I didn’t wait more than 5 minutes before the doctor reviewed my complaint and got back to me. We talked for a minute or two, and that was it. Very simple and to the point.

Altogether, the process didn’t take more than 10 minutes (including account set-up), and my prescription was sent to the pharmacy I chose.

I’m very pleased and will be using it again!

This is living in the 21st century! I have little kids, which means I’m always busy and get more than my fair share of colds and sinus infections. Instead of an hour round trip to the nearest urgent care, I got a courteous provider who listened to my symptoms and prescribed me a path out of my sinus infection in under five minutes. No waiting in line, no gross waiting room, no hauling my kids around, no problem.

I used the virtual urgent care for the first time this evening. It was quick, easy, and very efficient. The provider was knowledgeable and helped me with a treatment plan from the comfort of my home - no waiting in a crowded waiting room full of other sick patients. I will definitely use this service again. Thank you!

I have a miserable head cold/sinus infection so of course my doctor’s office is closed this week. Instead of having to drag myself to the urgent care center all I had to do was fill out my info and talk to the Doctor over my iPhone camera. It was so fast and easy. SO much easier than going to an appointment. And I don’t have to spread my germs around. My prescription is already ready! I love UPMCAnywhereCare!

I filled out a few questions and was connected with an ER physician (Dr. Null) within minutes. She listened to me symptoms and was able to get me an antibiotic the next morning. From sign up to finish was maybe 5 minutes. This is a great option for working parents or anyone else who cant easily make it to an office or urgent care. I will most definitely use again!!!

I just had pink eye which I got from my little one. I decided to try out the online doctor because it is cheaper than urgent care and I would not have to leave the house. It was quick and easy. No wait time and the doctor was able to answer my questions. I definitely would try it again!

UPMCAnywhereCare is extremely helpful when I am feeling miserable and do not want to leave my house to see a doctor. I am very thankful to have this option 24/7 with UPMC providers who always take care of me and prescribe me what I need to feel better — whether it is a prescription medication or simply home remedies that will knock out what I have going on, quickly.

I am across country and visiting my fiancé at the moment and am unable to visit my normal health care provider. Ended up getting a UTI and with a few minutes speaking to a provider through UPMCAnywhereCare I was prescribed antibiotics that I will receive in the morning. I would have had to go wait in the Emergency room for hours over a UTI. Very professional medical team and I am so grateful.

After you download UPMCAnywhereCare and fill in the information (the birthdate was the only funky part; I had to change the year first before the month or date could be altered) quit UPMCAnywhereCare and open it up again. A few more steps and bang, I had my first video appointment at a fraction of the cost of urgicare! Soooo much faster, too!

Answered a few questions and was connected to Dr Yealy. She listened to my issues and was able to provide recommendations and prescriptions immediately. So much better than having to get in my car and drive to urgent care center for treatment. Would highly recommend UPMCAnywhereCare. Very user friendly and Doctor was very nice and helpful.

A coworker used this service and mentioned it to me - so glad she did! Everything was seamless. I was connected with a doctor within a few minutes of setting up my account, and he was able to help with my concern. Would highly recommend and definitely use again!

I love UPMCAnywhereCare. I’ve used it several times now for various minor ailments, avoided trips to more expensive and germ-filled Urgent Care centers, and had great doctors every time who are compassionate and responsive. Wait time has never been more than five minutes. UPMCAnywhereCare is my favorite thing about having UPMC insurance. It’s great!!
