Functionality Update

I setup the device with my son yesterday and I’ve been test running all the functionalities. I noticed some of the features disappear from the tray and I can’t seem to find them. Eg, the first time I logged in, there was a feature named “health”. It tracked calories, sleep cycle and steps per day for the child. Now it disappeared and I’ve spent the last 10 hours looking for it to no avail.

Also, please update the date settings to have a 12hour option rather than the 24hour option because kids can only read the 12hour clock for now.
Apart from these constraints, this is a wonderful device and a very good investment for any child that is between the early to primary years age range.
I love the remote camera function, as well as the 15 contact restriction in the phone book. Most importantly, I love the voice note feature shared across the device and SeTracker2 together with the location update schedule.

The original app was much easier to use

I’m just getting used to this new app. I previously had the older version of this watch and therefore uses the original app. When I upgraded the watch (which also doesn’t work as well as the original as far as intuitive use and swiping sensitivity) I had to upgrade SeTracker2 too. The home screen is just a list, basically, instead of icons, and the ads at the top are distracting. The option to remove the ads isn’t a one time payment, instead it’s a subscription. I will NOT lock myself into a subscription to remove ads. If it were a one time payment of $5 I’d probably do it, but as is, I’ll just deal with it. I give it three stars because it seems to work for what I need, even if the translated language is slightly off and it’s not as aesthetically pleasing as the other.

Tracking is useless.

I signed up for the $5/cellular plan they suggested. The calls work well, the messaging is so so. It’s voice only and doesn’t distinguish which voice messages are being sent and which are received. Also, you can only send and receive from SeTracker2 . So text messaging is not an option.
Tracking: while the watch was sitting next to me the location was reported as being at several locations across the city, and even in the middle of the freeway over 10 miles away. I’m not sure if this is an issue with SeTracker2 or the watch or the cell service but none of them provide clear instructions or customer support to help find the solution. I’ll keep trying or cancel everything and call the watch a huge waste.

Awful and rarely works

SeTracker2, and the watches paired with it are awful. Most of the time none of the features work. The tracking feature rarely works, and when it does locate it, it’s in the completely wrong location at least 10 miles off. You also cannot make any small updates without there being service, but you rarely get the service either. Even when it says you have service, it won’t update anything. So even so much as adding a phone number or do not disturb hours can’t be done without service. I am a single mom and wanted a cheap way to track my child and call when needed. But I messed up because you get what you paid for. And what you pay for is a watch and service that doesn’t work. And the excitement your child did have about it will be gone in less than a week due to it not working. So it’ll be a giant waste of money and will end up collecting dust. I have to fight my child just to put it on every morning before school.

Hijacked by Ads

I’ve been using SeTracker2 to connect with my daughter via her smart watch. We’ve been using SeTracker2 for almost 2 years and it’s only gotten worse rather than better. Instead of adding features or improving speed and functionality SeTracker2 has turned into an advertising nightmare.

When I first downloaded SeTracker2 it had a tiny space for advertising. These ads didn’t block functionality or inhibit the use of SeTracker2 . But now I get bombarded by ads when I try to call or message my daughter and told I have to pay money to get rid of the ads. This feels like extortion and makes me want to delete SeTracker2 , throw the smart watch away and find another option that doesn’t get between myself and my daughter when I need to speak with her.

Note to developer: Please remove the ads!! You made your money with the smart watch (somehow) so stop trying to squeeze more money out of your original customers!

Watch for 10 y/o Daughter

Love this watch! Everything seems to work very well. Took it straight out of box to AT&T and got a micro SIM for it. Had a little trouble understanding a few things at first, probably because some names of items are what they are called in other countries, but not a big deal overall. I love that it has geofencing. Gives me a peace of mind when I send her out to play. The best feature of all though would be the ability to control her ability to not make calls during a set time, especially during school.

Daughter loves it. She is very excited about it counting her steps and how it has different faces like my Apple Watch.

Definitely would recommend to any parent!

Had high hopes

After reading all the reviews, studying the different watches for kids with GPS function, call or text minimally, and would be water resistant at least, I thought I found the perfect watch for my 8yr old son to be able to know where he is in the neighborhood or call and check on him when I’m at work and he’s at Mimi’s. Well, first the watch isn’t even water resistant, water behind the screen just after washing his hands! He’s very tech savvy but could not get the touch screen to work for him, I have to be very precise and touch firmly for the watch to recognize my touch. The camera is terrible and he can barely here me when we do get connected on the phone. The battery does not last long, so the watch ends up hardly being on his wrist! The “game” is a math “think quick” with subtraction and addition, boring after about 30 seconds...all in all I had high hopes but this watch is going back.. not sure what’s next...

Many things inaccurate and wonky!

GPS location is at least 3 miles away! The marker also doesn’t move when my child moves. He walked home from the park and the location never changed at all.
Please change the military time, you can’t expect the younger kids just learning to tell time to read military time!
Day is inaccurate. It was Tuesday when I set mine up and it says it’s Wednesday!
Messages come in as voice recorded and are sometimes not clear. Much rather use the call instead.
5 second delay to wait for an AD to finish before you can check anything on SeTracker2 ! This is every time you open SeTracker2 ! So much for urgency to check your child! That was a big surprise to me but I guess nothing is free!
This one is minor however the kids appreciate it, and that is to have different watch faces. There is a standard jelly fish cartoon and not all age of kids like that.
All of this considered I’m rating this a 2 out of 5.
The gps is the reason I bought this watch and now I understand the inexpensive price point compared to to a $100 child’s tracking watch!! You get what you pay for.
The calls DO work great however! I think that is due to the great SIM card that is separate from the watch. Knowing this now, I might just get a watch that only makes calls.

Pretty bad really

SeTracker2 is used to “control “ tracker watches. You have about a 50/50 chance of it working when you go to use it. Signal has nothing to do with it either, I’m at home on WiFi and still is very inconsistent. It is a great idea, and that’s the only reason I gave it 2 stars. The look it pretty bad for something that an adult is supposed to use. The gps is far from being accurate. I use SeTracker2 to turn the watches off remotely every day, and even that is annoying because half the time it says “device offline “ and I know it is not. Calling and voice or text messaging are the best, most reliable functions available. I suppose it can be 2 and a half stars because of that but seriously. Please totally redo SeTracker2 because it is really pretty bad. Unfortunately there are not many options out there that can do the basics of what SeTracker2 does so for now, I’m just kinda stuck with it.

Pretty good overall

Pretty good tracking overall and I love the fact that there is a replay feature to show where the child walked on the watch, location by location in order.
One improvement I’d like to see is that when I hit the Tracking button, I get an error message that says the watch can’t be found or located, and then it gives me the updated location.... so it seems this error message comes up every time by accident, like a software bug.

It causes a little panic because if you get a message that your child’s watch is offline when it’s not or they can’t be tracked when they can be, it makes you feel worried until you see that the watch location does actually update itself.

Recommendations for updates

SeTracker2 allows me to stay in contact with my children when they are away from home. They are 7 and 9 and we’re not ready for them to have a cell phone. This is a good compromise. However, there are several features I’d recommend for future updates:

1) Allow the parents/users to change the face/icon on the watch. My daughter is big on creating avatars and she was really bummed that she had no control over the images on the watch. Perhaps allow parents to upload/customize the watch with photos of their choosing.

2) Update the gps tracking feature. It’s never accurate and is usually off by over a mile. This is not helpful when I’m attempting to locate my child and was the one of the primary reason we purchased the watch.

3) Allow users to adjust and personalize the volume and the sounds of ringtones (as well as the volume of the speakers). As stated previously, both my children have the watch, it would be nice for them to recognize their watch alarms from one another’s.

The watch and app have a lot of potential. I’m hopeful there will be modifications based on my recommendations.

Great idea but so buggy

This watch is a great idea and a good price... if it worked. Unfortunately it’s very buggy still, even after SeTracker2 was updated. I have tried many times to get three of these to work well, for my three kids. The phone book feature is buggy, and so are most of the others. The GPS is totally misleading. The audio message works pretty well, but that’s probably not enough to continue. I wish the phone books would update right, because then the watches might be worth keeping and paying for the monthly plan. Kids won’t dial the numbers so the phone book needs to update right from the parent’s app, but that’s too buggy now. June 7, 2020

Signal is horrible.

I purchased two suggested SpeedTalk nano SIM cards for the 9Tong GPS watches for my kids. The seller attempted to help me trouble shoot. But nothing was fixed. GPS info on SeTracker2 is not even accurate. My home is listed as a different address. The GPS is not current and not in real time. Signal is so bad if you’re lucky you’ll be able to call or track accurately after 5-10 tries. App has functions that doesn’t even make sense. The track feature never works. The setting is confusing, time zone must structured in foreign language. And you have to pay extra to remove ads off SeTracker2 . But then, after you purchased the ad removal, the top of SeTracker2 after signing in still looks like ads. Just do your due diligence and shop around for options. Read reviews and just accept what you went with...the best one is yet to be invented I guess...

Great app and product

The watch does what it says and SeTracker2 is very user friendly. The one option I wish it had is to set the time from military time to regular AM and PM. SeTracker2 doesn’t give you the option to do that which I didn’t like. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars. SeTracker2 keeps track of the user, tells you when the battery is low, when it’s taken off, and voice messaging is great. My son really likes it and makes him feel like a super hero just because he can make calls to mom and dad. Very useful tool to keep an eye on your kid. Am not sure if the feature is there but if I can listen to what is going on around him without him knowing would be great too.

Tracking Always a Problem

The tracking situation seems to be a theme here. I went to see where my child was and it said she was on the HIGHWAY!!!! My husband and I completely freaked out!! I had to turn SeTracker2 off then go back in to see where she was. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!! This watch is to give parents piece of mind, not give them a heart attack! Not sure where the phone number comes from either but it’s literally from another state. As another reviewer has said: you can only text through SeTracker2 , however, the call is pretty clear. Setting up the phone is extremely frustrating!! The instructions are not very clear. It took a very long time to figure everything out! Please fix your product!!

Not very user friendly

I gave it 2 stars because it does technically work… somewhat. The layout of SeTracker2 is terrible and is not user friendly on the watch or on SeTracker2 on my phone. We have two watches that use SeTracker2 and the other reviews I’ve read about the location accuracy issues are spot on. It doesn’t matter if they’re connected to our WiFi or using satellite, I can’t tell where they are. One watch works great to call and message, the other I can only message. We used SIM cards recommended by the company that sells Lil Trackers and checked the website for coverage area. We should not have any issues.

Spent a lot of money on this set up but would definitely not recommend the Lil Tracker watches or SeTracker2 to anyone.

Not great, but good enough...I guess

I have three watches that use SeTracker2 . I can switch between all three of my children but cannot view all of them at once. The location is always off by about 3 blocks!!! You can’t text back and forth, only voice chat so I’m not sure if that uses my kids minutes or text messages. 🤷🏼‍♀️ SeTracker2 doesn’t use proper English but it’s good enough to understand. The adds are annoying and you have to pay to turn them off which is frustrating seeing as I had to buy the watches already. It’s annoying getting the watches set up. If you don’t do it right it says that it’s offline. Overall, it works for the most part. Not great but I guess it could be worse.

Lots of features

Very reliable. It’s not a beautiful layout but SeTracker2 offers a lot of amazing features that make the “watch phone” more robust for a parent. Here are a few that work well: taking remote photos, video calls, temperature checks, and tracking. There were other options like playing sound alerts, scheduling, alarm clocks, etc., but I would have liked to see a feature like mapping to show traveling/ tracking history. This could then open up options for hikers, runners or world travelers to set way points.

Great possibilities, but the app needs some work.

I love these watches & the functionality they provide for the price. They allow the kids a little more freedom & we still have the ability to track & check in on them. They can also call if they need help. SeTracker2 is hard to use though. It’s not intuitive, & the ads that pop up each time you open it are very annoying. However, when I’ve had questions about functionality in SeTracker2 , customer service has been very quick to respond & helpful.

I would recommend, just know SeTracker2 isn’t as user friendly as it could be.

Lack of support, gps inaccurate, ads

First all lack of support is main reason for the bad review otherwise I may have found solutions. Not to mention I paid for the product why do I have to pay for an ad free version, it’s a Ripoff.

The GPS accuracy is way off. Not sure if it is the watch, SIM card or app issue. If there was support I might be able to figure it out. So if you want this to track your kid this isn’t the product for you. We wanted it for the time, text and calls so I might be able to live with bad gps.

Settings are limited. There is no way to set time and date to typical US. 24 time and day/month format only and no way to change.

SeTracker2 itself looks like it’s made for a 3 year old. I got it it’s for tracking your kid but it isn’t used by kids. Make it more adult oriented.

No description of what some things are like home base station toggle switch. What is it? What does it do? A help page or support page would probably answer it if I could find one.

I haven’t even used it for text or phone calls because it’s a xMas gift so it hasn’t been fully used yet. so another review, good bad or indifferent coming. If these features are bad as well I’ll be returning.

It’s better than the watch.

Kids can only send voice message to SeTracker2 , and parents have to share the same account, so there is no option for them to send to just one of us. They can send voice messages to each other in the “friends” category since they both have a watch. One day the school mode did not work and the next day it did. There is no option to choose which days school mode is set for. Then, I had a hard time turning off school mode because it said there was no internet connection, except there was internet connection. It worked a few minutes later while I was standing in the same spot. Several times a day, I have to close SeTracker2 and go back in for it to work.

HORRIBLE!

My daughters first watch through here the speaker stopped working so she couldn’t hear, and the gps was totally off! It was alerting me saying she was leaving school and moving further and further away but when I called to listen in she was in class..
2nd watch ordered: I was sent a refurbished watch 😱 with someone else’s info attached to the watch. I tried to log in and attach the watch and it sent it to whoever had the watch before... and it allowed me no access. However the parent had access to call her watch and listen in, access to view the camera, and even see her on the gps!!!!!!!! Watch itself can only turn off through SeTracker2 . So literally we were tracked and listened to until the battery died.
Nothing but bad after bad things with these watches and apps.

Many issues

So I bought this watch for my asthmatic daughter. She’s 6 years old so I thought this would be a great way to keep track of her location and heart rate and for her to call me if she needs too. However it doesn’t work at all and SeTracker2 doesn’t have the option to see her steps , her heart rate , or do anything it’s suppose to. It doesn’t alarm you she she takes it off like it says . The location is never right . It will say she’s on the high way every single day in the exact same spot . When shes right next to me . When she leaves the house it doesn’t work at all. She can’t call me or anything without WiFi even though I paid for the $5 plan .

A bit disappointed

The tracking on SeTracker2 and the zone mode is useless. The watch will be on my child who is next to and messages me to say that he is in the highway way down the road. Also, it constantly loses connection and the signal is always weak. I would like to see a better way to communicate with the watches. I’ll try to message them through SeTracker2 and most of them never go through. When I click locate in SeTracker2 it usually says offline. Overall I am very disappointed because the main reason I brought the watches were for GPS for my autistic son and it is never accurate. Which is very scary to get a message he’s like 5 miles away, when instead he’s at home in his room.

App works, but needs upgrades

There needs to be a way to change to American way of showing the date and 12 hour time, not military or 24 hour time. The location setting is about one mile wrong, which makes the fence inoperable since I would never allow my daughter to be where SeTracker2 shows she is, when she is really at home. The numbers don’t show on the places to enter a phone number or a time, which makes me just hope I entered them correctly, but doesn’t allow me to check on SeTracker2 . A few tweaks, and it could be really good. Please fix those few, but important, issues and it could be awesome.

Terible and dangerous app. If you want the location you have to struggle trough a lot of advertisements before you know.

Hi I'm try to put the pin number off the chip into the watch can anyone please let me know how to do it as numbers appear on the watch ??? Cheers

Coogandree Sookdiyal   3 years ago

Please advise why the speaker does not work on the watch. is there a setting that needs to be changed.

Benjamin Mathieson   3 years ago

The tracker is just not accurate. It says my daughter is in places she obviously isn't. I can see her across the road and it tell me she is in the next village. Can I reset and start again? Sometimes it is on GPS sometimes it is on local network. What do you recommend?
