Wish I could message

I can’t send a normal text to the watch. The watch does not receive texts. It only accepts WeChats that are made through the SE tracker app. And the watch can only respond to the WeChat with a voice text which makes it pointless to even text anything when my kid can just call. If I send a WeChat, there’s no notification on the watch to show a chat came through. They’d have to hear the chime (useless in loud areas) or randomly check the WeChats. Lots of weird options that I don’t understand, not user friendly, and the instructions don’t explain, like the my friends option or the pedometer. I can’t seem to get the sound guardian to work through SeTracker . It worked once, and now I’m not sure how to activate it.

Pretty user friendly

SeTracker functionality largely depends on the quality of the watch you purchase. There is a stark contrast between a 2G watch and a 3 or 4G watch. SeTracker works pretty smooth with 3G or higher but lots of bumps and connection issues with the 2G watch. Example: GPS is super accurate on my daughters 3G watch and not even remotely close (30+miles) on my son’s 2G. I also can only make changes to, text or set alarms etc on my son’s 2G watch when it’s in just the right spot to get service (maybe 30% of the time because 2G is being phased out). However, I can make updates via SeTracker about 95% of the time with the 3G watch due to much better service as well as wifi capability. All in all, SeTracker works great considering it’s a free app.

Smart Watch

I bought this watch for my 9 year old son. There are some items that can be improved.. the first is the GPS, it’s not accurate at all most of the time. That is a concern especially if my son left the house and didn’t get to school. The date and time are hard to teach to him. Maybe put date like Aug 31 instead of 31/08. Also changing the time to 12hr instead of 24hr. It’s hard to teach my son 24hr time. Chat messages are cut short , maybe a little longer time like 1 min. Overall he likes the watch and enjoys chatting with me at school. He likes sending chat messages on what he is doing. I’d also like a way to adjust the volume of his alerts like incoming calls to the watch. It’s really loud and draws a lot of attention.

Good starter option

Voice clarity and ease in use of functions are great! However it only offers military time which does no good for a child who is just learning how to tell time. In fact it causes more confusion than anything for them. Also the date cannot be updated to an American English format which also causes confusion and therefore is a feature that my child ignores. Lastly the accuracy of GPS is spotty but usually within a few block. Giving three stars because the concept is awesome! However the limited functionality of the date and time given that it specifically connects to a watch is really about a one and a half star.

The ideal is good!

I have two school aged children. The signal on this watches drops often. The GPS feature that us parents are buying this for is off by a few blocks but I guess something is better than nothing. There has been a few times that I have tired to send messages to my kids and the watch was offline with no reason known. I do like the calling and the remote camera features. The camera quality isn’t that good but I was able to identify the neighbors house that my children walk pass on the way home so I knew they should be walking through the door at any second. My kids love the watches. They feel like Spy kids or something. They like playing the math game and they are more aware of time. My 8 year old feels a little more independent with his watch on also so there are a few extra perks.

Fine as a little tech toy, crap as a functioning app and device

Cool ‘high tech’ TOY but would not recommend if you really wanted to track you kid or have a reliable emergency device. I had very high expectations but was sorely disappointed. One must accept that this is a nice toy that has cool features: GPS (with geo fencing), camera, voice messaging, phone calling capability, phone directory, math game and time tracking.

Set up: Plan to spend 2-3 hours. Horrible instructions that comes in multiple forms (on paper, in SeTracker , on the website, on the watch). None of it really makes sense even though it is written using English words. Need the watch charged, app downloaded on parent phone and account created, SIM card activated on a website and paid for with a credit card...then maybe you can do the set up....maybe...you have to figure out how to install the SIM card without screwing it up.

Time after set up before watch starts working: Somewhere in the mess it says 48 hours.

Does it actually work? Yes.

SeTracker : Analogous to the device itself. In order for the toy to work you need an equivalent app. Don’t expect a 5 star app...you have to pay for those.

App issues

Every since I purchased SeTracker what’s annoying is when you first go into SeTracker and throws you advertisement which is annoying when you are trying to locate you love one.

Also when my daughter is at home for whatever reason it’s got my house 2 1/2 to 3 miles from where we live on a totally different street and regardless to what we do it’s still won’t move us to our present location.

If your behind a VPN recently you have to turn off the VPN to even access the tracking information. Which is really a pain. A big improvement will be if I bought the tracking device why am I still looking at ads? And lastly they need to fix the location of the individual down to within the meter of two as advertise.

Not that good

GPS is poor at best. Tracker is not in real time...I’d hate to think how this would perform for a lost child in a theme park or shopping mall etc.
GPS often places my child in arbitrary places that he’s never been. Takes its sweet time to update location, and you actually never see subject move (like how you do on an iPhone).
When you pull up the gps history, it only shows point A, B, and C etc as direct lines the way that the crow flies...so you can’t tell what route was taken.
Not what I was expecting tracking to be.
Not sure if the problem is with SeTracker , the watch, or the SIM card company here...but there’s an obnoxious echo every time I call the watch so conversation is nigh on impossible.
Watch setup instructions are in poor English and not comprehensive. App instructions are not comprehensive either. In addition, SeTracker had adverts that you have to navigate around to use every time you open SeTracker , or you have to pay to remove them.
Overall, I’m not happy with this watch at all, and will be returning it and looking into a different model as the concept of these watches instead of smartphones for kids is phenomenal!

Inaccurate GPS, faulty group chat, no FAQ or user tips

Just got the smart watch and I’m assuming they’re all similar for the price range, I don’t need bells and whistles...but I need at the LEAST an accurate GPS reading, and it’s at least 3 blocks to half a mile OFF. The group chat isn’t a group chat, it says “group chat” but each kid has their own thread and they can’t intermingle (I have two of these watches for two of my school age kids). The only reason it has 2 stars instead of one is because the phone calling at least works. I will test internationally (bought these for international use) to see if it’s any better. Don’t hold your breath. Splurge on the smart watches offered by your phone companies, otherwise this is just a glorified Walkie Talkie.

You get what you pay for

So I bought this watch for my seven year old son. He is obsessed with watches and phones. I wasn’t too thrilled to get him a phone just yet, considering he’s seven, so I got him the watch. The GPS is outdated by far. Pretty much the first GPS that was ever released, so it just gives you the area the watch is in. The device is offline more often than not, so I really don’t see it being useful as an emergency situation. The voice message thing is cute. He can send me cute messages through out the day when he has service. It’s only $5 a month and the watch was under $45, so you can’t really complain too much.

Good so far.

My daughter loves the watch. The GPS is way off so it hard to keep a boundary setting on it. It’s usually within a half mile range, but that’s not good enough when it comes to a child’s location. Sound gardian calls and texting seem to work good.
I DO NOT LIKE that the square is available her watch for others to download SeTracker . Not sure how to turn that off on the watch or if it even can come off. But I don’t like the fact of thinking that others can down load her app and track and listen to her.
Other than those flaws, it works good as a phone.

Great product but low price equals some big cons

This is a great product, especially for the price but there are some big downfalls that could leave people frustrated and ultimately just using this product as a quick cheap starter phone for kids until a newer better functioning on becomes a possibility for the user. SeTracker is clunky and many features don’t work properly and/or come with no (clear)instructions. GPS isn’t accurate and voice messaging doesn’t always work properly. Voice clarity is stellar and menus are simple and easy to navigate on watch.

Needs an update

We had SeTracker years ago and were concerned when we saw it was connected with the watch we bought. Nothing has changed. The gps is still wrong, which mean the tracker, geo net, find device, and history can not be used. That leaves chat, message, alarm clock, and settings. The sound on calls is ok, but that’s about it for SeTracker. There are also now ads in SeTracker . You can pay a monthly fee to remove them. Would love to see an update. Might be more inclined to pay for no ads if SeTracker worked. The watch is ok. Make sure you don’t misplace the changer as other charging cords don’t stay connect to charge the watch. Also if with the SIM card half the time it says the device is not connected.

Kids Smart Watch with GPS

As previously stated the GPS is very inaccurate. The most upsetting part to me is how the watch will only show 24hr format. That is the dumbest idea any company could have for a child’s watch. My 7 year old is just baffled at the whole military time thing. After 12:00pm in the day he can be asked what time it is and he doesn’t know, even with a smart watch on his arm. It’s ridiculous. The talk and text does work well with speedtalk service in my area. I do like the ability to set pics as the screensaver from SeTracker .

It’s Ok

The concept it good but there are glitches. I have gotten notices that my child took off their tracker and left the house but they were right there with me. Because I have 2 children, I have 2 profiles and sometimes one of the profiles completely disappears and they will both have the same name. Good thing I added their pictures so I could tell them apart. The kids, however love the idea of being able to contact family and friends from their lists. For that reason I give SeTracker 3 stars. But there are some bug fixes needed to really make it great.

Some minor usability concerns, but overall a very nice app

Most of SeTracker features are straightforward. But it would be nice to have a help function that describes the current feature in simple English.

I personally found it challenging to change the time on the watch to the correct local time. The time zone feature doesn’t seem to change the time programmed in the smart watch. I get frequent errors stating the watch is offline. Yet, I was able to call the watch without any problems.

By

The app needs work

The whole app needs to be redesigned. The adds are constant and in the way unless you pay to remove them. And then there is still a scrolling banner at the top with pictures that make no sense. Figuring out what time zone you live in is a guessing game. The message feature is confusing. And you have to go into settings to change between each child’s watch. Finding the watch is actually paging the watch. And heck if I can figure out how to send my sons a message without bothering them when they are at school. It’s confusing. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because we like the watch.

It’s nice

The watch is great for what I expected and paid. It’s perfect for an elementary student. Our daughter is able to call us and it’s been nice being able to reach her at times too. The GPS is never accurate for us. That was a huge disappointment. It was the main reason I chose this. The phone calls to and from the watch don’t always work. I would say about 90% of the time. The remote picture function works half the time. You have to speak slow and clear though in order to hear each other.

Inaccurate GPS

I think 100% of users depend on this watch for GPS and that is off by a mile. I don't understand why the feature they claim for kids watch cannot be accurate? And seems I am not the only one with this issue from the reviews. But there are some good things too like sound guardian (hear on other side without alert them) text and Sos.

Pros: price, remote picture, text, call, sound guardian, responsive touch for the price, and appealing design

Cons : inaccurate gps, ad in App evertime you open

By

The application is the problem.

Just a for instance... from the watch you select Video Chat, the next screen says Group Chat or “ the name you entered as administrator “. You select Group, thinking that you will be able to chat with the administrator and any other family members connected to the account. Nope just the administrator. There is a language barrier in the written directions that come with the watch and getting help setting up the device is impossible.

Thought it was ok 3 years ago but now it shows location in 3 different places. I guess 2 other people have a device and is mixing our locations. This makes it potentially a dangerous tracking device. Will buy from another source and definitely do not recommend this product.

The ad's are annoying, Ive had no other issues with this App besides the GPS is completely inaccurate, for example my 6 year old is at school which is 5 min away, the gps will indicate she is in another town. The GPS is something that will need to be reassessed as you cannot have a tracking watch for your little ones that cannot give the correct location, it serves no purpose. for this reason I would give it 2 stars.
