Avira Password Manager Reviews

I’ve been using Avira app for about a year and it is very convenient especially when using different devices. I did not like that I had to create two different passwords when setting up which created such confusion and a lot of time wasted. Actually needed a more techy friend to help sort it out. Once that was done it went pretty smooth. I love the fact that I don’t have to remember all those passwords especially since each website has different criteria for setting up a password. However, lately on my iPhone I could not access a frequently used website as it kept prompting for the correct password. I was able to gain access to this same website on my laptop with no issues. On my cell, it should’ve worked but it didn’t so since I couldn’t see the password (only see the ....) when signing in, I went ahead and changed the password to the one that worked and which I was using on the laptop. After changing it to the same old password now I actually think that the password is being generated from my cell and not Avira. I’ll have to consult my friend again soon to address this. Then today I set up a different website and password on my laptop and I was able to see it on my cell with no issues. Weird!

I had encephalitis a few years ago, which has caused memory issues an other challenges. I use three devices so the ability to sync between the three is an absolute necessity.
I am confident that I am using AviraPasswordManager correctly, however, the syncing seems to be inconsistent. This leads to me having to change passwords multiple times to get it worked out.
The Password and Master Password are also an issue for people like me with memory issues.
When I first got AviraPasswordManager, I loved it. I’m not certain what has changed lately, but I hope we can get it figured out.

Has been a great tool, easy to use across both pc and mobile.

One suggestion in the future is allow users a way to share passwords for specific accounts. For example, husband and wife each have their own password vault, but certain accounts (I.e. electric utility) may be shared between the two. A way to allow changes in one password vault to a common account would be awesome.

I’m writing a review hoping someone can fix my issue. I love AviraPasswordManager so I purchased the pro version. However, when I go to AviraPasswordManager it still says I need to purchase the pro version to access the features. Apple acknowledges my payments monthly and I see them in my account, but I can’t access any of the features I paid for over a month ago. Can someone help? Thanks!

When I change a password with the web browser extension it doesn’t update the passwords on my phone app, I have to do it manually. Makes it seems useless with old passwords not updating. I have the backup and sync setting turned on as well. I only noticed when none of my passwords worked through my phone and I saw it was all the old passwords. If I’m doing something wrong or it’s a glitch that can be fixed, let me know. Thanks

I’ve had my Avira account for over 2 years now, but for some reason AviraPasswordManager just won’t let me sign in. I sign in using my gmail. It works on desktop and it works on safari on my phone. AviraPasswordManager gives me an error message every time i try to sign in. I’ve been having this problem for months, please fix it!!

I had Avira password manager and it worked well until I switched cell phones. When I tried to transfer AviraPasswordManager with all my passwords to my new device it would ask for a master password which I entered several times. It said I’d have to reset my account and lose all my passwords. I had to get rid of it.

This works as a password vault, but beware because every time they update, it kicks you out and erases all your data. I have had to start fresh 5 times now. Not sure how much longer I’ll be using if this continues to be an issue. The older version worked perfect. Not sure why they keep trying to fix what isn’t broken.

I listened to someone that this was a highly rated application instead of checking for myself. This is the worst application I have ever tried to install and tech support is non-existent till after the weekend. First thing Monday I will be requesting a full refund if I get through to someone. Looks like tech support maybe in Germany?? Learned an expensive lesson….

Very good app and it is so useful

I have a iphone 7 with 250 passwords and AviraPasswordManager is unusably slow and it doesn’t allow you to move your passwords sure you can export to csv but no other password manager supports the format so you can’t import it anywhere else.

It’s a great PWM. However, while Face ID is available on my iPhone, I only get offered Touch ID on my iPad Pro 11. This issue needs to be resolved. Until then, I will need to keep using 1Password.

I’m writing the review to inform you on a problem I’ve been having with AviraPasswordManager.When I was setting up my passwords recently I forgot my masters passcode, so then I proceed to reset it.everything worked like usually but then I typed my masters incorrectly again and now I’m stuck on a screen that says “enter masters password” can you help me?
