INSTACARTERS STAY AWAY THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!

My first time using car advise, I set up an appointment for a headlight bulb swap. Upon pulling up to the mechanic, he quoted me what this app quoted me. When they went to charge me they charged me almost double the agreed rate. When I asked the car advise agent about this, she was rude and said it was obviously for the price of parts, but the mechanic and I were confused about the additional charges. The mechanic ended up not being able to fix it. I called back and somehow got the same agent. She was still rude and told me i would be refunded in 3-5 days. I left with my broken car with a dent in my wallet. 5 days later after no refund I decided to contact car advise. Justin informed me almost 30 minutes after contacting that they never initially issued a refund. I asked for a supervisor, but he kept posting screenshots from his billing platform ignoring my cries for someone to actually assist me. I still have yet to get my refund almost a few weeks later. I will be using a chargeback.

I could leave highly negative story but I’ll try to keep it short. this app partnered with another company which did not share my location to the provider that should be helping me but they contacted me asking to share my location with them via text message… this is the providers job!! And doing this highly unsafe anything could happen so I just gave my location to a absolute stranger when they called me, I could hear background, the guys alarm say “Garage door opened” so this unknown person is not at a job site, nor has not left to come help me. I’m in an unsafe situation that “this app” put me in.

When you find that your price is wrong, the customer service team of this app will find all kinds of reasons to explain why the price is wrong, and then make a big change to the price, allocating the price of one item to other items. Anyway, what he said is right. I don’t know if I added too much gas or how to calculate the labor cost. I only know how to look at the bill.

I do Uber and that’s why I signed up. I recently changed out my brakes but didn’t have the tools to flush the system so I downloaded CarAdvise . For a brake flush from Firestone in CarAdvise was $97 and the claim I got a $26 discount. But I called Firestone and asked them for pricing to find out that it was only $80. I got CarAdvise for the discounts. Now if someone doesn’t do their own research on pricing they will be out of money. Just call stores yourself. I was almost out a extra $17

They’re terrible. I have been paying to keep my membership active. The one time I need to use urgently for a “lock out”, I was just told that my account isn’t showing as active. They just charged me 2 weeks ago and I have an active payment method on CarAdvise !

I was told to pay the full price and *maybe* they can reimburse me. Horrible service from Car advise since they’re phone support closes at 6pm EST and I’m in in PST so 3pm. It’s a good thing in theory but awful in reality.

It’s of NO use.

CarAdvise is the biggest waste of time and saves you nothing. If anything, you end up paying more. For instance, they quoted me $88 with a supposed discount, yet when i called the shop directly same service was $64. Contacted CarAdvise people thinking maybe for $88 i got something different in terms of service through them since the price was higher, they were completely useless and gave me nonsense answers like our prices are at least 5 percent below advertised. Um no they are not. Shops dont seem to know anything about them and basically you dont know what in the world you are getting in terms of service or how much it is going to cost you. And then they send you these worthless text messages about your appt, yet the shop has no knowledge of any of this. Waste of time. Ended up scheduling service for a lesser price outside of CarAdvise with a lot less headache.

CarAdvise has a lot of work to do. One day, perhaps it may be good. But that day is not today. Since the Firestone I went to on N. Main St. in Manteca California is not on CarAdvise , I have to pay out-of-pocket full with no discounts from them or DoorDash who promised there would be a dinky $10 off discount with this app. But the girl in the support chat was wonderful. Just that what she said didn't work.

AND, came back to make it one star less because the oil change COSTS MORE with this than without, AND the DoorDash discount NO WHERE TO BE SEEN. VERY BAD.

If the answer to the question above is ‘yes’. Then I would highly recommend CarAdvise. If you said ‘no’ then avoid using CarAdvise at all costs. Their warranty is a joke and not honored costing me over $500 in additional brake work at the dealer on top of what I spent thru this app just to have a safe driving car again; and because they are essentially the middle man you can’t do a chargeback via your credit card company because this app indicates the work is completed. Additionally for most services they offer they don’t have the lowest price as they claim. Used them twice and never will again and continue to inform rideshare drivers to stay far far away.

Do NOT fall for this scam of an app, I’ve tried calling costumer service three days in a row. Only for the phone to ring, until an automatic answering machine says no one is available right now. I left a call back number and when I finally got the callback, I answered and they immediately hung up on me!???

This company needs to be reported immediately to the Better Business Bureau, and shut down. The amount of frustration trying to get a human to answer back, isn’t worth the discount. You’ll get a headache just trying to schedule an appointment, only for it to not go through.

The live chat is fake, the button doesn’t work at all. How did they ever come into business is beyond me?

this app states that their pricing is lower than in store pricing. This is absolutely FALSE! I got an invoice from the store which was about $100 less than this app!! Here was their response:

The price you see on the receipt from the shop is the price that this app pays the shop. The price you pay is pretty much always slightly higher. The difference is the margin that this app keeps. That said, the margin is a little high on this so one of my supervisors will be adjusting the price and sending a refund of $xx back to you. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

How can they claim that it’s lower than in store pricing!?? Mind you it was only a partial refund of the difference they only refunded about half so still paid $50 over…therefore not being lower than in store pricing.

First CarAdvise sends me to a shop that is a joke, took twice as long as they stated when I brought the car in and were going to skip ordered service until I caught them. Then was treated quite rudely by the customer service rep at this app, was double talked and they didn’t seem bothered at all about these issues. Unacceptable and I suggest people don’t trust this company as they didn’t help at all.

I’ve used CarAdvise 3 times now, and each appointment has me waiting at least 45 min to 1 hour before devices starts. This proves the scheduling is not effective as each location is unaware of appointments from this app versus their own scheduling system. If you have the time, it works, but I’m tired of wasting my time just because CarAdvise tells you the appointment is confirmed when in actuality, it is not. You are simply squeezed in.

I have just begun to use CarAdvise and I was liking it. Randomly one day I go to make another appointment and every shop in the country has disappeared from the map and no search results are coming up except for three shops hundreds of miles away from me. I don’t know what happened but CarAdvise is unusable

The first time I used car buys I didn’t have a problem with that. My appointment was made as it was to be made. The prices are great.

The second I use this app they scheduled me an appointment for 5 PM when their call center or this app itself closes at 5 PM. Therefore the shop could not do service for me because they cannot run it through this app first. So then I reschedule my appointment for 9 AM two days later. this app me the same day of my appointment, prior to my appointment time, telling me that the 9 AM slot is unavailable, and that I can go in at 11 AM. I told her advised that the service writer at the shop told me to come in at 9 AM.

Another instance was just recently, I made an appointment for 11 AM. this app confirm the appointment with me for 11 AM. I show up to the shop 15 mins prior to my appointment time to find out this app made the appointment for 3 PM. I rescheduled for Saturday, March 11. It’s Thursday and this app has not made my appointment with the shop or confirmed with me.

My advice for anyone who wants to use this app, CALL THE SHOP AND BOOK YOUR OWN APPOINTMENT. THE EMPLOYEES WON’T GET ANYTHING DONE RIGHT OR ON TIME. Their price is great but that’s all they’re good for.

I’ve used this app for years and recommend it to anyone that likes saving time and money. Super easy to book an appointment, I know the price I’m going to pay before I even show up to the shop and their support team is great. I don’t know how they do it, but they’ve helped save me hundreds if not thousands over the years. 6 stars!

These guys are awesome. If you can’t or don’t know how to do something your self, they will make sure it gets take care of. I used the chat feature and they were super knowledgeable about their product and what needed to be done to solve my issue. I had to call in because the shop was having issues sending the bill and they got it straightened out very efficiently. I will not be going in for maintenance without this app because that would be archaic at this point. Save money AND get excellent service. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The whole process is pretty seamless. Right from CarAdvise you just book your appt, show your membership card to the shop, and then approve & pay for the work. You do everything in CarAdvise which makes it much easier. They have discounts on services too! It’s great.

Hands down the best customer service of any business I have dealt with it years! If any company big or small followed the lead of this app they would be set for success! I am amazed at the quality of service as well as the speed and genuine concern for seeing to customers needs and concerns! Thank you

I took a car I had just bought in for an inspection as I knew there were some things that needed attention. Got my car fixed with no major issues with this app or the Shop.

This makes it so easy to get car maintenance and repair. Before, I had to call lots of shops to get quotes. Now with this app it literally is one click- it’s like Expedia and Open Table combined but for car care. Digital approvals made it easy- I didn’t know what I should approve, and CarAdvise gave me great guidance. Oh, and I saved a lot of money vs being a retail customer. I’d use it without the savings, but the savings is a bonus! I love that I can use it for all the vehicles in my household- particularly with my kid in college- I do the approvals (and paid for him of course).
