Minor Fixes NEEDED

Firstly, I’d like to start this off by saying thank you for bringing this app to mobile devices! Mobile production is slowly becoming more popular so I’m happy to see we’re getting proper recognition. Thought there are a few minor issues. Ever since I’ve had Splice , it’s performed very well. The ability to download samples directly to your device is extremely convenient. Although when trying to view your Likes and All Downloads, you are met with either a blank screen or samples that you’ve never touched upon before. I’d give Splice a solid 5 if these issues were fixed. I was extremely disappointed to find that samples and packs I’d come across were completely lost unless I loaded up this app in my computer. The searches within Splice also seem to be somewhat broken. There have been several occasions where I typed in the publisher or exact pack names and had completely irrelevant results pop up. I believe if you were to optimize Splice, mobile production will have another solid base to put it on the same level as PC production. I think this is a business that’s worthy to invest in!!

Make it better!!

I don’t know when Splice was launched but I’m really excited that this app made it to Splice Store. As an app developer myself I know the work of doing a cross platform app specially to keep all the data base on the cloud the most stable and accurate possible. So thanks again for making Splice. I also think Splice needs a lot of improve and features that could hopefully part of the new upcoming updates. But first things first. I think so far the only real objective that Splice has now is for the user of this app to use it with their mobile device and search for new samples to download and sync with this app so.... WE NEED FILTERS !!!! Without filters is an exhausting search of clips. For me at least If I need to do a fast music production I will take something that I like and them use filter to match clips in the same tempo or tune!! Or what ever I’m really looking for. I can’t spend hours looking for what I want you guys now!! Good luck in this journey and thanks again!! Keep the good work going!! Lmk if you guys ever need help with Splice team!!

This app can potentially change the game..

So first things first, it’s a great app. It’s a very clean interface and now that they have a filtering feature, it brings Splice to a whole other level. The developers also seem to be receptive to the comments so far, which I appreciate. So all in all, everything seems to be smooth but there’s one thing I’d like to recommend. Maybe having the ability to be able to download the sounds directly to the mobile device itself, so that we could import them onto a mobile app. For example, once I download a sample or sound from this app; instead of waiting to get on a desktop to sync the sounds, I can just import the sounds into the GarageBand App or Fl studio mobile app.. I tried looking up if there was a way but there isn’t. If you could do that, that’d be a game changer.. for me at least.. but regardless, Splice is still great.

Browse sounds on the go and get to them later?

NO THIS IS BROKEN. So they let you browse and add samples to your library on your phone while you're out and about, So far so great. Then, you would think that those sounds would get added to your library for when you get back to your workspace. That is where you are mistaken. So just to recap, l found two packs from a producer that l look up to. Decided to just buy both of them, using about 300 or so of my credits. I get home so excited to make something! Only to see that the credits were gone of course but my sounds were not there either :) typed in the names of the packs on my my computer and guess what!? It didn't even register that l had used my credits on a single one of them 😂 great job this app. And they're customer service tteam couldn't help at all. "We don't have the bandwidth to support the mobile app unfortunately. Sorry for the inconvenience" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍🏾
"Did you try typing in the names of the sounds in your search bar in the library?" I don't recommend this crap to anyone.

When downloading samples

When I download samples to my device files app sometimes the audio will only download partially or only a snippet will actually be available for example a 14 second sample or sound that I add to files from the this app app will only upload 3 or 4 seconds of it before it’s abruptly cut short. I wind up having to try to add to device multiple times(which also uses up my credits)so that I can get the full length sample or sound on some occasions but that’s only if it even allows me to. Other times I can’t get full sound or sample no matter how many times I add it again it will add two or three seconds but never the full length. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does it’s so untimely. Otherwise, Splice has been really helpful and I enjoy the variety and hope that the issue can possibly get resolved in the near future

Was really excited

Was really excited when first saw that they finally made an app for this. But was really disappointed with how many features aren’t available. You can’t filter anything. Everything you search shows the same results. Make it so you can sort things like the desktop website and make search a lot easier. Also, a “Are you sure?” you want to download button would be helpful since whenever you’re scrolling, you are bound to accidentally download a sound you didn’t want or even hear before downloading

Big disappointment, get it together guys

Thumbs down

Was pretty excited to try Splice and service out. Now im having a laundry list of issues.

Search bar always defaults and constantly reverts back to “popular” when I want to search “relevant” which would make more sense “popular” seems to be mostly the same samples from the starting browse menu shuffled ever so slightly. No option to default to relevant.

Scrolling down the samples it repeatedly jumps back to the top and I lose my place. I search the literal name of things I found and it doesn't show up. How?

BIGGEST ISSUE : Now it has straight up stoped downloading sounds(I have plenty credits)
In the worst way possible as well because no error message or anything so I just browsed thru countless samples only for them to not show up in my downloads.

Same goes for “likes” they have not showed up at all since starting to use Splice . So many sounds I stumbled across i’ll never find again no connection errors message or anything.

I understand creating an app isnt easy but with the growing community of ios producers its worth the time and energy to curate an app that functions smooth and intuitively. Hopefully they make the effort.

My mac desktop is to old for Splice to work on it so if this is what I have to deal with I dont see continuing with the service any further. Very disappointed. Hoping for drastic revamping.

Great but could be Greater

I love Splice no doubt, but I’ve been having problems syncing my samples from Splice to my laptop library. There’s a more than 18 sounds I know I downloaded that never uploaded to my laptop once I synced. It’d also be dope to have a place to see all download sounds on Splice just in case they won’t sync and have as reference to download later because I was really looking forward to getting a work flow going. WE NEED THEM SOUNDS GUYS. The main reason I download Splice was because it’s easy on the go and I could be anywhere listening and curating. Won’t do us much good if those sounds don’t get back to the main platform you need them for. Thanks guys, keep working. I’m hoping to see all those missed sounds soon, still have those ideas bugging in my head.

It’s great to have a library at my finger tips

I’m sure I’m not the only one but being able to download the sounds using credits/or sync my already paid for sounds to phone or tablets file system would be great. I use iPhone and almost everything you’d need to do be able to do that is right there. If you’re looking into great, if you’re not maybe start

Now a days there are more and more producers working on devices they all have phones and tablets it would open a new branch of currency for this app and help to revolutionize mobile production.

I more than occasionally use GarageBand, FL mobile or beat maker 3 to create small snippets or full songs then transfer the projects to MacBook for further editing. So think about it.

Keep an eye on your credits

I’m quite certain I’m being debited more than once for the same samples. Either when switching from iOS to Mac or when Splice lags behind and I’m downloading multiple samples back to back. I’m also not confident that when we purchase samples from a pack, then end up buying the entire pack later on, that this accounting is happening properly (many times I’m pretty sure I was debited for the entire pack and not just the samples I don’t already own). Not trying to nitpick - I spend a lot of money with this app and I’m not nickel and dime’ing over a credit here or there. The integrity of the credit system must be reliable and sync up properly. Now instead of enjoying the browsing, I’m constantly checking my credits - please address.

Has potential but currently not very useful

If the point of Splice is to simply be able to browse the this app catalog and spend credits on a mobile phone it serves its purpose. But I think it can and should be way more than that.

One missing feature that I think is crucial is to be able to actually navigate samples in your library in a user friendly way. Yeah I have access to my library on the go, but it’s just a huge list over 900 samples with no way to filter, view by back, genre, etc. I’m better off using this app on desktop to find the backs I want and then airdropping them to my device and then using AudioShare to browse them.

For folks who like to start ideas on iOS or even produce whole songs this app isn’t very useful.

Search bar??

I’m giving this four starts, for starters this is dope that it even exists and i love this app, the only problem i have with Splice is i can’t search for anything? A couple producers i follow just dropped some sample packs and they won’t pop up on the this app app feed which would be fine but i don’t have a search bar to look up these specific artists so it makes everything counter intuitive. I feel like a search bar should’ve been a given from the start and i see previous reviews also saying there needs to be a search bar. Please fix this and y’all will get your five stars.

Much Improved!

Splice has improved substantially, and has brought the ease and joy of browsing through this app sounds to the mobile platform which I absolutely love.

My only wish is that there was a seamless way to import sounds from this app into music production apps in IOS. I prefer using my iPad to create music, and since becoming a this app user the platform has become an integral part of my workflow. However there is still no streamlined way of using sounds from my this app library, and for iPad producers this addition would (in my opinion) serve as a killer feature.

MAJOR FIX

I recently downloaded Splice after seeing many tutorials saying it’s easy to download music from Splice to garage band but when I go to click the 3 dots, click save to library then proceed to click add to file it doesn’t add it loads forever I left it on for a few minutes just to see if it would but nope nothing. It’s a great app with lots of music but I have no way of getting them to garage band without saving them please fix! :/

I love splice but...

I enjoy the user friend setup and the convenience of having sample laid out in a easily filterable listing. What I’m unclear on is the new plan system. I like having the 1000 credits a month and don’t want to downgrade to get access to their new first party apps. I can seem to find anything online with an answer to my question so I’m bringing it here. Do I have to change my plan or will it still be honored within the new plans system?

Help

So I went onto to this app this morning and the beat maker made the sounds of the samples like crackly. Also my this app folder on my phone is just gone I have no idea where it went. It was there yesterday if someone could help me figure this out and how to fix the audio. I tried it with my headphones and it still sounded weird I tried cleaning my phone speakers and it still sounded bad. I loaded some other samples into fL on my phone and they didn’t sound bad the ones I had saved.

Wow. Big update w v2

Ok... so I think the only way to make this new version perfect is to allow some search functionality. That way I can use my iPhone/iPad to DL beats or samples wherever I am.

But beyond that... guys... this is a HUGE upgrade from V1. I love the functionality of the desktop version... but this is much much better. Specifically the ability to sync up w my laptop version so I can jump into my DAW when I get home from my 9 to 5.

Thank you! For everyone out there: get this ASAP!

OMG FINALLY!!

I've literally been checking on a weekly basis for news on an update for Splice. I was out of my mind excited when I saw the icon changed on my phone!!! This is LONG overdue.

Now in terms of functionality - this is a huge improvement. Being able to use my credits on the go makes it so much easier once I finally get back to my computer. It also looks like they rebuilt this from the ground up- everything is hi res and smooth. No broken buttons (my biggest pet peeves on the last version).

However, this could be MUCH better still. The features I want most are 1) ability to like and repack 2) ability to loop playback 3) ability to import samples into Garageband on iOS (how cool would it be to literally start a project on the go and pickup in Logic at home?!).

Overall very pleased with this update and can't wait to see what's next!!

Everything I needed

I got Splice not expecting much from the reviews and I got so much more. I needed to make music for my band and this is the perfect app. It has all the genres I could’ve asked for, so many beats, you can like things to save them in your profile and the best part is... you don’t have to buy anything. I highly recommend this app if you are in a band that usually uses electronic music.

Nice

So much better than it was a year ago when I first started a subscription with this app. Now that I have decided to come back it is nice to see that Splice has greatly improved. Before I couldn’t even find all the samples I had purchased but now they are all here plus my previous likes as well as all new data. You’ve made me glad I came back.

Filtering and advanced search difficult

Cool app. I don’t like how you cannot filter individual packs by one shots or loops, let alone instruments, to aid downloading single samples. It is also not intuitive to get from an individual sample to its parent pack from a top level search. It also feels like Every screen and button is optimized to get me to push download to burn up my credits as fast as possible rather than help me find the best sample. Other than that Splice is fast and clean.

By

Now it’s good

Until a few days ago Splice could listen to the samples but was pretty useless otherwise. You couldn’t even look to see which samples you had liked or downloaded so to actually work on a project was out of the question.
Now it’s great for searching for sounds on-the-go or at work and it syncs so when I get back home o can open my laptop and work on my music. Love it!

Awesome with 1 flaw

I’m so glad this came out, even though I’m a little late to the party. I love being able to listen to samples on an app instead of having to goto their website, which used to be pretty annoying. I’ve been using the presets ability lately, after I got Serum, and I wish you could also listen to presets instead of just samples. Other than that, I’m loving Splice!

Where are the advanced filter settings??

I love this app, it’s def taken my production to another level but I’m seriously disappointed in the lack of options in the filers tab. It’s crucial that we should be able to search for a melody/sample in a specific key on the fly like the desktop version, kinda kills the momentum when you’re otg and get that random spurt of inspiration. I do like where the Splice is heading, but functionally needs some work
