My functionality dream

The IOS15 updates are great. My life would be a disaster without task lists and this app to keep track of things for me. So every improvement made to Reminders is appreciated. As a native app, I still expect more integration with other natives apps (calendar). No doubt this has been suggested or requested before, but it would be very helpful to have the option to schedule a reminder as a task to be completed at a certain time and have it show up on the calendar. Perhaps even drag-and-drop from the this app app to the Calendar app. Right now I’m using the split-screen option to view both this app and Calendar simultaneously so that I can schedule the things I need to do for the next day or week. It’s a bit clunky, but it works. Any chance there will be future development to make that smoother? Another functionality dream would be to be able to link to or embed a this app list in the notes of a Calendar scheduled event. Thanks for your work past and future.

They fixed it!-15.3

I’ll leave my old review here for context, they added the ability to complete tasks from notification screen again and it’s much better. Swiping from the left still only allows for muting options which I still don’t care about, but if you hold down on the task it gives you the option to complete. Maybe I just missed this function earlier idk. They no longer say time sensitive which is great. Clicking on the reminder still takes me to the list it comes from, rather than my today list. Would love a settings option to change this. I am honestly avoiding updating my phone now though from looking at other reviews —-Old review: Currently trying to uninstall IOS 15. I think that anything in this app should automatically be time sensitive. I have ADHD and Reminders is one of the major ways I manage daily tasks. I used to be able to complete tasks from notifications screen by swiping to the left. Now it’s just managing muting (not useful for me) and time sensitivity (useless in general). Also now they all say time sensitive on them which is super overwhelming. Also when I click on the reminder it takes me to the specific list it comes from rather than to my today page. My phone just updated last night and this is the first time I’ve regretted and IOS update.

App Ruined with iOS 15 - Bring Back Snooze!

This used to be a great app. However, the latest update took away all the features that made it functional and easy to use. I am completely baffled why I would have to specifically request to receive Time Sensitive notifications. If I set it for a time, I want to see it then. I get some this app at the correct time and others come in a huge line at once. You can’t just type the time in anymore, you have to scroll. Also, the notification doesn’t stay on the Lock Screen unless you clear it like it used to. The most aggravating thing at all is getting rid the option to snooze and mark a task complete from the Lock Screen!! I heavily rely on Reminders and the snooze feature and now I’m missing things like important medication routines and other important this app. Bring back the old app that worked great!

EDIT: I discovered today you can snooze an alert if it pops up while you’re on your phone, but you still can’t snooze from the Lock Screen which is very important. I also keep missing alerts only to discover my notifications have been turned off without me doing it.

Almost perfect

I love this app except one thing that really detracts from its usefulness. I want this app to continually remind me. Not remind me, then just sit as a red number in the corner of my app icon afterwards. I want things that have a timeline-deadline to remind me until it’s done. Either by staying on the locked screen (not the notifications center) and or popping back up at a chosen interval period until it’s completed. This is particularly true for repeating tasks- like a yearly reminder for a birthday. For example-I’d like the birthday reminder to pop up every 3 hours until I’ve completed the task and then repeat the following year the exact same way. Any fixes on this would make Reminders the most useful app around for productivity and tasks. Until then, I’ll have to keep searching.

Just need help!

I tried to find a way to contact privately, but I could not. I use the this app app religiously! I love it. However, as of this week, Reminders is totally blank. I have no custom lists that I made and no this app that should have been in those lists. I also cannot create a new reminder from Reminders itself. The push “button” to create is faded out in the bottom left hand corner and cannot be used. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Reminders multiple times. I have offloaded Reminders completely and then tried to reinstall, also with no luck. I signed out of icloud and back in. That did not help. I do have everything saved to icloud. Other than creating it all again, is there a way to get my this app app functioning as before? Update..it also wont let me schedule this app. It used to the show the time that the note would “remind”. It no longer does that. Also, no longer works with fantastical calendar. What happened?! Gonna have to find a new app. :(

Apple, please, make an option to “unmark all”

I love Reminders! It is not a perfect app but it does all the things I need it to do. I am a person who needs to use the same reminder list every day and then send a copy to myself to verify that I did it and in case my job needs proof of what I have done, I have it. I tried Google Tasks which can create a list and mark and unmark but you can’t share (i.e. email) it with yourself or anyone like Apple this app can. Thank you so much for that😃

The only thing I thought was in the update but was not, and I mistakenly used was the new “clear” option. I don’t need it to be on the page with the this app. That is too accessible to be hit accidentally and delete all the this app I will need for tomorrow. I thought, it was to clear the marked by unmarking them. Not, completely deleting them. Thx 😊

Terrible first experience with Apple

While I love my new 13 promax, my first ever apple device since the very first iPhone came out, Reminders is complete garbage. I have YET to receive a SINGLE audible reminder. None of them. No notifications for any reminder whatsoever. The only reason I know I wrote down a reminder is because I put a widget on my Home Screen big enough to see ALL my this app. What good is that? I could just get a sticky note app. I have ADHD and REQUIRE the use of an audible, repeating reminder app in order to live daily life without mishap. Relying on Reminders caused me to miss several appointments, medication, and essential tasks within a couple of weeks. No thanks. Why did Apple choose THIS out of all the apps out there to put on its phones?!?! I’d rather have Microsoft todo, which syncs with my computer at least so I have them on all devices. APPLE- you’re not doing a very good job of convincing me the switch is worth it!

Good updates but still missing…

I’m overall very happy with the updates lately!

They’ve been so useful and make me happier to use this versus other reminder apps out there. I enjoy that the notifications aren’t invasive like some other apps tend to be!

One thing I’d really like though is an easier way to change the date for past/ expired this app. And sort better for those.

With the new smart list format I’m better able to say organized, which I love! But I’d also like a way to add additional date filters. For example, I would like to see this app that have expired within a time frame instead of seeing all that have occurred in that amount of time (currently I have a smart list to show all in the past year as well as one that just shows next week— I’d love to have the upcoming this app filtered out for the year one —so “in the past year / not this week”, or “in the past year, before ‘today’”—

Thanks for always improving and keeping Reminders simple and intuitive!!

Bugs creating issues

I use Reminders all the time, I have several daily this app and multiple weekly and longer term this app. Ever since the update to ios15 I’ve been encountering bugs that deeply impact the usefulness of Reminders . First and foremost is the borking of notifications. I have constant issues with notifications displaying this app for the wrong day. Furthermore the incorrect notifications won’t clear unless I select complete, which then defeats the purpose of setting the reminder. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially when it happens with daily this app as I will accidentally clear the next day’s reminder instead of todays. I usually just manage these kinds of minor inconveniences in stride but it’s becoming so pervasive (it’s happened four times this week) that Reminders is losing its usefulness.

I don’t know what’s worse

Honestly I really like a lot of what apple has for convenient user friendly apps. This one on the other hand even being a native app has far too many downsides. I have adhd and short term memory loss. Those hand in hand make it impossible to remember things. I never get notifications from Reminders even with notifications on. They take forever to clear off the task screen and honestly could be a bit more user friendly especially with the notifications. I haven’t received any since iOS 15 dropped. Between that and the lack of 4g/lte swappability in the cellular data section anymore I just don’t know anymore. Kinda renders the idea of me having a phone useless besides Snapchat and phone calls haha. But I digress. Not a fan of it. Honestly the notifications are a killer because I can’t remember anything so that’s what Reminders is for.

Terrible new update

I have absolutely loved Reminders for all of my this app. However, the new update really messed up the function of Reminders. Previously, I was able to change a Reminder’s time frame from one hour to a week in my lock screen. Since the update, that feature only lasts for the first five seconds I am notified. After that, I must open my phone, go to Reminders , and the specific reminder to change dates and times. If I only had one reminder to change, that wouldn’t be a big deal. But I have upwards of 20 this app throughout my day for certain tasks at a specific times and it is repeated. What took me less than one second for the previous reminder app now takes me about three minutes to go in and change all of the this app dates and times. Until this is fixed, I will be using a different reminder app.

iOS15 = great updates!! (4.5 🌟)

I'm a hard-core To Do List person, maintaining a digital one for over 20 years. So, I love high-functionality, but I also love simplicity of use. Apple has moved closer to both in their iOS15 iteration of this app.

For all those who think they lost functionality, long-press on the notification. Mark as completed, and remind me later... are still options.

iOS15 brings TAGGING! Which completely revolutionizes the functionality of Reminders. Along with smart lists & easy conversions, plus (as before) shared tasks, location-based this app, siri integration, also integrations with other productivity apps, it truly (finally) makes iOS this app a major player in the field. 4-stars only because there's still a bit of work to be done on advanced features to rank it up there with the strongest of the bunch, but Reminders is now truly functional for the majority of folks needing a handy todo list.

If you found this review helpful, please tap and hold to mark helpful, so others can see it, as well. Thanks!

STOP MESSING WITH THE TIME SETTINGS!!!

I love Reminders. Been using it for years but please STOP MESSING WITH THE TIME SETTINGS!!! When I first started using Reminders you could set your time of day in 5 minute intervals. When you did an update it changed to one minute intervals. That was great. Then you changed back to 5 minute again (Sucked) Another update and you could put in what time you wanted by 1 minute again. Works great for me. I just did the new update on my phone and now it’s back to 5 minute intervals.

Please change it back to where I can plug in the time I want in 1 minute intervals. As of right now I have 160 this app that come up every day. Obviously I can’t get 160 things done a day but this helps me keep track of what still needs to be done.

Very buggy

I just had to delete Reminders as I have done many times since I upgraded my iPhone from a 6S. I hadn’t had the memory for updates then, so I had the old version of this app which was awesome. As soon as I hit the “new and improved” updated version I started having issues. For instance completed this app from 6, 7 years ago they were long deleted suddenly popping back up all at once, current this app disappearing. Very slow response time. When I click the circle to mark a reminder completed, it takes 10-15 seconds to process it and mark it complete. As a lifelong Apple user I couldn’t believe they would use an app this buggy. It’s a shame because the old version was great.

Slow, buggy and crashes constantly

I like most of Apple’s apps, but Reminders by far is the worst one, which is unfortunate for how important of an app it is. It looks nice, but has never in any of its iterations functioned well. It’s unbelievably slow to start Reminders , most of the time Reminders crashes on first, and sometimes the second attempt at opening Reminders . It is also incredibly slow when making a new reminder and when checking off this app. Often attempting to do any of these simple tasks will crash Reminders as well. Please just make a this app app the I don’t dread having to open to create or check off this app. Often times I will end up never checking things off or forego creating this app due to the poor functionality of Reminders.

Need this Please!!!

First off, always gonna love Reminders! Super helpful and very, very useful in most situations. Setting this app are a key part in my life but I like to be pretty precise. Organization is at the top of my list. A small but very helpful tool would be to allow us to have all of the basic tools for typing. Like Bold lettering or italic writing and all of our other little setting available while writing this app. Another very helpful tool would be to allow native apps to work together and move information easier through each app. Id really like to use my notes, calendar and this app all together somehow.

Bells and whistles - but no sound

Lots of great things to do, lots of bells and whistles but it lacks some of the most basic functionality.
1. Copy lists/items from list to other lists. Not move to other list. Copy

2. Clear all check marked. Clear checkmarks not only delete them. Mark current selected as completed/incomplete - without having to go to “select” reselecting everything you’ve already marked complete then choose mark complete/incomplete etc…

3. Select all option

Desired functionality
1. Bring back the ability to assign someone to a task
2. Set date/time/location for an entire list
3. Auto Reset list option daily, weekly, monthly etc
4. Another Layer of sublist

Some issues I found
1. While selecting items it says 1..2..3 selected but the bubble doesn’t show its selected. So you can’t see which ones you’ve chosen.
2. Dragging an item to drop it under a heading(to indent it) seems to be wonky, it zooms out and doesn’t show where you’re dropping it.

Allow More Icons for List Groups

First I will say, Reminders has been very amazing to use for me, it has really helped streamline my schedule and schedule making process, so thank you.

I will say though just for extra differentiation, Emoji icons should be displayed in tandem with the list group icon already displayed in Reminders

Although you can name them differently, the icons are all the same. So unless I am mistaken and this feature is already implemented, I think it would be a very intuitive user experience if group names were displayed graphically and verbally rather than just verbally.

never works for me

i don’t know what i’m doing wrong. i keep the notifications on for Reminders , i go and set the time manually for time sensitive this app, i even set their priorities as high as possible.

but IT NEVER ACTUALLY REMINDS ME. the only reminder it will give me is putting the red notification dot and number of how many at the top right of Reminders icon. it never shows up on my lock screen or gives a sound cue. i’ve tried everything i could think of and it never works. i’m tired of missing time sensitive this app just because i didn’t go in Reminders every day and look at the date and time i need it. if i wanted to just do that, i would just use the calendar.

it’s a reminding app that never reminds you.

Stupid, but really good

I could write zero stars on Reminders if I could because it keeps on saying that I need to upgrade my this app iCloud so I can add photos, just how stupid is that? An upgrade just to add a freaking photos, what is six sickness is in Reminders, don’t download it if you want to be safe from the bugs, but it’s overall making me keep track of things, but stupid teeny weenie problem. I set my reminder for 6:35 AM and I didn’t wake me up so I woke up late and I missed everything and now I was late for school, thanks for the yucky bugs in Reminders

iOS 15 Ruined Reminders!

Ok, I’ll admit, the Apple this app app wasn’t that spectacular, but I used it. I liked that you could tap on a reminder notification, and have it remind again in an hour, later that evening, the next morning, or mark it completed. iOS 15 took all that away! Why?! Now, all you have as options are to clear it or remove it. Makes absolutely no sense why they’d remove those other features!! Now I have to seek out and learn another reminder app. Ridiculous. I hope this was just an oversight and they’ll restore the options on the next update. Ugh.

By

So bad

It is amazing how bad Reminders is. Syncing between devices takes hours or days, if it ever happens at all. Tasks reappear on a device after being marked as completed. Opening it results in a freeze of Reminders . I can’t believe Apple has done nothing to fix it.

By

Very poor update for iOS 15

Before iOS 15, I was able to complete my this app from the Lock Screen. Now I have to unlock my phone and open this app to complete tasks. Absolutely moronic. I’m getting a new reminder app and never using this one again

Basic App

Reminders needs MORE. It’s been the same exact thing for years. I’ve been with Apple since iPhone 4. Waiting for them to AT LEAST add a morning routine or something. It’s just not as good as Microsoft’s. Apple please do better. I can’t keep vouching for you.

By

Not changing

It’s okay, but I’ve noticed that my color options and icon options haven’t changed or been added.

By

Previous options are gone

Don't like the options after upgrading to IOS 15.

Used to LOVE this app…

After updating my iPhone to the new iOS 15, my this app app (literally my most used Apple app) just started crashing, taking forever to display my this app and now it just shows that it’s empty. No this app. Nothing. Yet my newly updated iPad and Apple Watch shows my this app no problem. Maybe it’s just a greater iOS problem, but that’s frustrating too. I should have learned my lesson and just stopped updating my phone to new iOS’s. Guess it’s time to find another reminder app, or another phone brand. 👎
