I was so happy to open a this app account, unfortunately that didn’t last long. I’m not one for writing negative reviews but I felt people need to know, especially when it involves something as important as money. Monese wouldn’t let me send money to my dad’s UK bank account, I emailed and got NO response for over a week, even longer, that’s never been resolved and I still owe my dad £50 for buying my mum a birthday present on my behalf, whatever I tried to get over it and adapt, I needed a bank account right? Then a few months later Monese wouldn’t let me sign in, I had upgraded my phone to the new iPhone, still wouldn’t allow access to my microphone etc, I contacted them, they actually get back to me this time and say they can’t do anything and the phone is the problem. I’m like this is unacceptable, help me out, I’m your customer. They then CLOSE DOWN MY this app ACCOUNT with NO warning, can’t even sign in online: I type in my email address and it says no account with that email. I can’t believe this. I’m completely left without an account and they said they’re going to ‘send the remaining balance’ to a different account. I haven’t received my money yet. Monese is awful! I could never get help from them when I needed it, terrible customer service and above all else; they close my account down and take my money?!?! What?!?! Beware!

Monese will wait until you save up money in your account and they will close the account and take your money. Be very careful everyone. Once you have reasonable amount in the account they will close the account and take your money. I don’t think is regulated by any body. You can’t call them or send them messages to get response. Avoid Monese for your own good

I was encouraged to use this app to access my blocked account from expatrio to study in Germany. I have not been able to access ANY of my funds with this app, and despite contacting them 4 times I have gotten NO response. This service seems like a scam. If you want to study in Germany with a blocked account do NOT use this app.

Absolutely incredible, they stole the money I need to live, it is 2 weeks that I try to get in touch with someone to solve this unbelievable problem ! I tried to call, mail and chat on your app, no answer at all!!! After 16 days I think an explanation is mandatory. Do not download Monese, they will steal your money too!!! Absolutely unacceptable!

Is Monese for real? A joke?
Chat and emails to support about missing bank transfer, account closure went unanswered! Even though they were opened and the first one was acknowledged. Now silence! My bank transfer never came through! IBAN number is different for transfers from another country. Monese and the people behind don’t work. Stay away!

I have created my account with all the requirements that they need then I shocked because they blocked my account after I created the account immediately!!! Then I contact them at the same time on 13 November and they responded me today which is 19 nov with no reason of why do the did that , however I read their mentions on Twitter page and I know how bad they are.

The worst service of a bank I ever had, after transferring money from a verified account trough TransferWise I’ve got my account and money blocked.. It’s been a full week that I answered their questions and after so many phone calls and emails I’ve got no answer at all.. I’m overseas without any money leaving of friends help now coz of this and they don’t seem to care at all to solve this problem... never again

I do not recommend this app, there are often hobbies, I made a transfer from my account to my wife's account, I sent all the documents on the same day, the money is still on panding (for three weeks already) and has not been transferred, the support service does not help if you want so that your payments freeze and you can't do anything about it, then you need this app

Monese will put you in DEBT instantly, if you create a new, free account and then choose to upgrade. It will upgrade you instantly, even if you have no money on card and put you in debt. The. you immediately try to downgrade back to free but it says you need to pay first.

Also it has only 300 EUR top-up limit and max 2 top-ups and support is very slow to respond.

When they introduced the referral program I was really hyped. You could get 70€ for each friend that joined and completed the tasks which is amazing. The scammy part is that they make you wait 2-3 weeks for friends cards and in the meantime they dropped the reward to 25€, which is a big difference. The only way to get the bonus is to wait for the physical card but I the meantime like I said they just keep dropping your possible earnings 👎🏻

I had £217 disappear from my account. when I disputed it, they didnt even investigate it but told me it must have been me as they sent a text to confirm, they didnt send anything to me, yet when i asked where they sent it they go quiet and they cant confirm anything !! it was an airline ticket, i called the airline they cant give me any details as i cant confirm the travellets name and email/ phone i cant confirm , this app is not recommended , the service is very poor and unlike most banks they refuse to help and prefer to blame the victim.... stay away guys!!

Monese looks fine. But once you try using it to transfer money to your this app account, the service fails to actually receive your money. After weeks of fighting with a support that was reluctant at best and ignorant towards the underlying problem, I had to give up and closed the account.

After this nightmare I wanted to have my account closed and my data deleted. After all they demand an ID photo for identification. It turns out they don’t follow European law and actually delete your data after you leave.

If you are a USA traveler don’t even bother with this company. No support, unable to login to anything but their mobile App, unresponsive to multiple emails inquiries, no one picks up their support line, sent card to the wrong address. Only accepts deposits from the USA in EUR even if you are seeking to deposit GBP. Lack of Reference number field from US bank transfer account. After not hearing a single thing back over 9 days in general inquires there is no way I am routing money to this company upon the good faith that it will be transferred into my account. Not worth your time or stress. Terrible support.

this app is extremely inflexible in the ways it lets you validate your identity. Passports are apparently not sufficient. They rely on a phone number which is not gonna work as you travel abroad locking you out of your account with no way of getting back in. They are never available through the phone. I’m in Germany 3 months already with no way of activating my account. Terrible customer service!

Please fix the apple pay. There’s two points of this story. First of all. Please fix apple pay top ups. Because when i going to the page with top ups there’s no apple pay at all. Some buggy image loading less than a second and thats all. I will appreciate if you fix this. And the second broken thing is that I can’t add the eur card to the apple pay wallet. After i put all credentials inside apple wallet i see message - call the bank to verify the card. And on the line support don’t know nothing and forwarding back to apple. That thing is only with the eur card. With gbp it is ok.

They either don’t respond at all or respond too late to emails or contact forms with less helpful information.

this app is amazing. Opened my account while on Germany to get my deposits from my blocked account. Easy to track the spent money, friendly when it comes to wire transfers. Overall a great experience using this app!

For over a year I use this app and still very happy! It works flawlessly in Holland and for a while in the Caribbean too!

Very reliable when using these services

This bank saved my life when I moved to the UK because it gave me an instant account that I could use while I was setting up (UK banks are not the best when you need a new account quickly!). It’s worked well, and the virtual verification process they have created is pretty cool. Definitely recommend!

Im trying to set up my account and its already taking 2 days to verify. I wrote them message through Monese and via email but no response at all... I wanted to try this app, i am already using Revolut and it has a way better customer service and much faster verification process.

It takes ages to get money from another UK Bank , only to be told as we are not really a bank we are not in control of the time it will take for you to receive your money . There has also been some sort of change which makes it harder to make payments .

Best mobile bank app I’ve used so far! Highly recommend as it’s been with me side by side for over 3 years as I’ve been abroad.

It’s very nice idea, bank without going to the bank, just the limit if it could be increased it will more convince
