One of the worst apps…

I don’t usually do this, but my experience with TokyoJoesOrdering has been so atrocious, I felt compelled to provide feedback. First of all, the actual UI is just plain bad. From redundant selections of needing to add items, then add them again, when all I’m trying to do is select some veggies, to none of the fields allowing autofilled values, the user experience is just cumbersome and irritating. Don’t even get me started on it not being compatible with Apple Pay or any of the other countless ways you can autofill credit card info. I could almost let that slide, however, assuming they wanted me to create an account. So, I go to try to create an account. Put in all my information and go to create. It says my number is already registered and I need to sign in. So, I put my email in and any number of passwords I normally use. Nope. Okay, then I click on Forgot Password. Put in my email. Error message. There is literally no way for me to log in, reset the login credentials, or create a new account without changing my phone number. This is insane. It’s 2024. Get. Your. Act. Together!

Horrible first experience! And last experience! App deleted.

Literally this took me 20 minutes to the the opposite location to get my food for the very first time ordering from TokyoJoesOrdering. I get to the location my food nor my order is here. I'm annoyed especially since this was already out of my location AND the first time I ordered from TokyoJoesOrdering . If I was reviewing the customer service and the food that would be a whole other story. I have only ate here once before this order and it was great. Wow TokyoJoesOrdering? Thought it would be easy nope. I'll never ever trust this again and they should refund my gas that took me 25 minutes to get here and another 25 minutes back. Great food but if it's not offered on Postmates a company I trust I'm not doing it.

Yellow letters on a white background? Worst designed app ever.

I ordered my wife to download TokyoJoesOrdering and sign into my account so she can place the order for me because I’m driving TokyoJoesOrdering wouldn’t even launch or work at all on her phone so I have to try and place the order at stoplights but because of the YELLOW LETTERING ON WHITE BACKGROUND I couldn’t even see what I was doing. When I finally got it together, I exited TokyoJoesOrdering to check a text from my wife to make sure I got the order correct and it erased my entire order and I had to start all over again. Working on the second order notification came up, but I accidentally clicked on and I had to start over AGAIN!!!! i’ve never had a more frustrating experience with an app. Seriously need to do better.

Auto saves credit card

When trying to check out on TokyoJoesOrdering , it sets your credit card information to be automatically saved. If you don’t notice this before check out, it is a nightmare to go back in and have your credit card information deleted from their system. I don’t know who Trader Joe’s thinks they are, but I certainly don’t trust them to keep my credit card information safe from hackers, so I don’t understand why they think it is OK to have the box automatically checked to save my credit card info on their site.

App Glitches All The Time & Now You Can Choose Only 1-5 Veggies

Horrible app. It glitches all the time when trying to check out and try adding a card to pay. Even when you have Apple Wallet connected and choose this method to pay, it makes you try adding a card to the wallet when you already have it set up. And now, to make TokyoJoesOrdering even worse, you can only choose between 1-5 veggies to add if you don’t choose the “Top 5 Veggie Mix.” It’s a shame, because Tokyo Joe’s food is delicious. The poor quality of TokyoJoesOrdering will serve as a deterrent for people who wanted to order here.

Couldn’t put an order, app too glitchy

I tried to put an order in yesterday and it kept glitching when I was creating a bowl - it kept telling me to choose 0-2 items when I had chosen 4, I tried re-applying the items but the error message persisted. It also would not let me add scallions. When I finally got through that issue, I went to pay and it said my card was declined. Several other people I was with also tried to put the order on their device and it said their cards were declined as well! There was nothing wrong with any of our cards (they worked at the register!), so TokyoJoesOrdering payment system is completely broken. We had to drive to the location to order and pay, which is what we were trying to avoid, but we had no choice because TokyoJoesOrdering is useless for ordering-purposes. Next time we won’t even bother trying, we can easily order from other businesses! Fix TokyoJoesOrdering if you don’t want to loose customers.

Cannot use addict card when ordering through the app

I typically really enjoy Tokyo Joes. Today was the first time I ordered using TokyoJoesOrdering and discovered you cannot apply the purchase to your addicted card. They also cannot add your card to the order to receive credit once you arrive at the store. Additionally my order was not correct. One of our meals had chicken instead of steak. We ordered 4 meals and only received 3 sauces. Missing a spicy yaki. I doubt I will use TokyoJoesOrdering again to place an order.

Take Out Repeatedly Disappoints

I used to be a big fan of TJ’s but the last three times we’ve ordered takeout it was very disappointing. Every time the order was incorrect. The second time I called the store and the manager said they would send a freebie to make up for it - never came. We decided to try one more time and am sorry we did. Again the order was wrong, the white chicken meat was flavorless, veggies were undercooked, and edamame tasted like fish. Not even sure how that happens. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Payment errors

I haven’t been able to order through TokyoJoesOrdering for over a week now. Every time I get to the payment screen, I get errors when trying to pay with a card. When I do Apple Pay, I get an error stating that I need a valid card to use, which I can’t add because of the errors. It had deleted the card I was using. I deleted TokyoJoesOrdering and logged in again and it didn’t help.

Poor online/pickup system

Last night, I drove to my local Tokyo Joe’s, submitted an online order from my car in the parking lot (for a 4-piece sushi) and was told by TokyoJoesOrdering that it would be ready in 15 minutes. At the appointed time, I walked into the restaurant and there were no less than 25 people standing around waiting for their orders. I waited another 15 minutes and then left because I hear them telling customers it was an hour wait and I had to get to a meeting. Luckily, I’ll only be disputing a $5 order. There was no communication with the mass of people waiting and no
workable system in place to handle the distribution of completed orders. Unbelievable!

Room for improvement

I love Tokyo Joe’s but their app is kind of bad.

First, I already had a Tokyo Joe’s account but I had to sign in to link my iPhone account. This makes no sense. My iPhone has already authenticated who I am. If my iPhone says I have my email address, then why does TokyoJoesOrdering need to verify that I’m the owner of the email address? This extra layer of signing in to link my accounts should not be necessary.

The colors and the design of TokyoJoesOrdering make it very difficult to read. Who thought yellow text against a cream background was a good idea? I first year design student would know that is no bueno.

Why make an iPhone app, for making online purchases, and not use Apple Pay? I shouldn’t need to give you my debit card info, my phone already knows how to charge me? This is a 2010 solution in 2020. If I change my debit card, I don’t want to tell every single app what my new debit card is, I just want to tell my phone and then have my phone handle the payment with the apps.

Get with the times, Tokyo Joe’s. Don’t let boomers design your app.

Curb Side Delivery

I made a curbside order via TokyoJoesOrdering because I was hungry and needed to be on a meeting. I called them to let them know I was there and they said yes they had it and would bring it out so I joined my meeting. 18 minutes after that I finally put my meeting on hold and went into the store to pick up my order. I was not happy, my order had been sitting in the counter getting cold. I love this restaurant just very disappointed that the employee at the front counter completely failed. They were not busy, when I entered the store she was cleaning floors and I had to wait until she finished her current swath before she’s even acknowledged that I was there.

Great food, terrible app

With so many great developers in Denver, I would have thought TokyoJoesOrdering would have gotten a major makeover by now. The yellow type against a light background makes TokyoJoesOrdering terribly inaccessible for anyone with visual disabilities (or aging eyes!). As others noted, the ordering system is clunky, making you add things multiple times just to get it in the basket. It’s always a toss up whether it remembers my last order or not. And then sometimes won’t even let me change the location midway through adding things to my basket…completely emptying everything making me start over from scratch. Friends, we have been loyal to Tokyo Joe’s since the early 2000’s… TokyoJoesOrdering should reflect the quality of the company and its values instead of whatever this mess turned out to be. Invest in a refresh…it’s beyond time!

App stalled at checkout, doesn’t prompt to use rewards

Tonight’s order stopped at checkout with “Error Processing Order”. Tried selectively removing items to see if one wasn’t valid or was unavailable. Had to delete entire order and redo, which worked.
At checkout, app should automatically prompt to apply any available rewards.

Meal Prep

I have to start by saying I really enjoy this restaurant at all locations! I’m not here to complain but to inform the company and their employees!
I gave 3 stars because I used the meal prep ordering option and the portions were off.
In a Ms. Sara there is supposed to be a 1/2 cup of brown rice, 1 cup of broccoli and 4 oz or chicken. The chicken portion was just about spot on, the rice had double the amount and the broccoli had half of the amount it should’ve.
I just want to make everyone aware!:) thank you for the great food!

4.5 stars

I’ve ordered from TokyoJoesOrdering about 6-7 times and I haven’t had an negative experience yet. TokyoJoesOrdering is kind of boring and not pleasing to look at compared to other chains, but given the size of the Tokyo Joe’s chain TokyoJoesOrdering isn’t that bad. It functions properly and has everything that you would expect in a fast food app: i.e. reward system, refer a friend etc. If you’re getting food to go I would definitely recommend using TokyoJoesOrdering . It beats standing in line and they always have the food ready in roughly 15 minutes after placing an order. The only reason why I’m not giving it a 5 star rating is because TokyoJoesOrdering can feel a bit overwhelming/ confusing at first especially when compared to bigger chains.

Love the convenience, app has some quirks

I love being able to order in TokyoJoesOrdering , but I wish it was possible to adjust pickup time later in the checkout process. It told me the time I picked was too close, and then I had to reenter all that info because I had to go back like 4 steps to change the time.

Just placed my first order

I'm waiting on my first order to get here as I type this and just have to say.....I LOVE TokyoJoesOrdering. It runs smoothly, and is very easy to order through it. This will be my first time having Tokyo Joes, so I'm really excited. I'm hoping to place many more in the future.

And I just got a text saying my order is heading out (with an estimated delivery time)...what a nice surprise.

Great app

Great app! The only slightly annoying thing about it is every word in any comment you write are always automatically capitalized. It took a bit longer to write my comments because I had to tap shift before typing every word. Other than that, TokyoJoesOrdering steps through all the menu choices well, and reviews the order in a neat way before you purchase. I also love the "Favorites" order list. It'll be an awesome and quick way to reorder meals without having to go through the entire order again. Well done TJ!

Awesome app

I’m not gonna lie, I eat a lot of Tokyo joes so TokyoJoesOrdering is super nifty! The only things I would change is the yellow font on the white background but I might just be blind so idk if that’s just a me issue¯\_(ツ)_/¯ also if you edit your item it does delete all the options but otherwise I really can’t be mad!
