I love it, but....

I absolute love this game. It is one of the only games I play and I could play for quite a while. Because I love this game I am willing to criticize it a bit. This is going to sound a little like a rant, but just hear me out. I think this game is pay to win. I am RQ 500 and I have never gotten a second legendary from any pack. The only reason I have a second legendary is because I got the VW Syncro when it was epic. All these events where people have these legendary Porsches and Jaguars, and I still have a Mclaren 12c. Don’t get me wrong the car is great, but I can only use it to mirror other 12c’s so I don’t lose 200 points! I don’t even get enough epics to upgrade my legendaries! Every epic I get is a celebration! I have opened ceramic after ceramic and gotten constant crap. I see al these YouTubers getting legendaries fr m ceramics every other month! I would open carbon fibers, but it takes me for ever to save up the gold to buy one. I love this game, I really do. I actually have a recommendation for the game. Why don’t you add a daily market, where there are certain cars available for sale, with a chance of legendaries being sold that day. You know, like the market in Clash Royal. I want this game to succeed. Thanks for reading.

Almost perfect for me

I’ve been looking for a game like this for so long. I love cars, but sometimes I don’t think I always have to “drive” a car. This game is so satisfying for me because I can collect, and see many different models. That’s also one thing I like about Forza Horizon, you can see some cars from your daily lives. And I can still enjoy modification and upgrading in this game.
There are only two things I hope to improve. 1. Maybe a slight more accurate modeling, maybe not for all cars, but for some rare ones. I think adding details to all of them is not necessary.
2. If the first one is too hard, I feel this one is more realistic: add different sound for different cars. Right now I feel like they all sound the same. Again, not saying literally all of them, but maybe different types of car have different sound, like coupe sounds different from suv, etc. and maybe add some effect to indicate road noise. Because road type is also one of the major challenge in this game. Maybe sand sounds different from snow.
Anyway, it’s my first time writing a review for any kind of app. It’s not complaining, I love this game! Great work

Fun and creative

I see a lot of 5 star reviews just because it’s a very nice concept and the game play is simple but well thought out and fun. BUT ITS PAY TO WIN!! It feels like the longer I play the farther behind I get and I’ve already gave in and spent way more then I feel comfortable with for a mobile game. I have bills and responsibilities and the price they ask for I think is extremely unreasonable especially for the crap that you end up getting. Do I have to put my rent on hold to get somewhere with this or would that even be enough? It’s like the team considered nothing except lining their pockets off suckers like me or am I crazy and missed the part where this game is strictly for youtubers who are payed to play games like this? There are so many disappointments in life, things that bring you down and make you feel like crap and this game has become one of them. I was very excited when I first started playing because as I’m getting older it’s getting harder to find games that actually stimulate my interest. So it was great to finally land on this what at the time I believed was a gem and to end up here now not much later where my only option to keep playing is to spend money I can’t to probably not even get anything worth it. How sad that the game felt like you could go for a while before getting bored but unfortunately the mr crabs mentality is too strong with this one.

Roadblock

This game is really fun. It is an interesting and new spin on racing games, and for the most part, the card system works well. The problem is that I don’t have time to grind out and get all of the rewards from every level, and I don’t think I’m alone when it comes to that issue. Another thing is that the final boss in Monaco, a race I would expect to be difficult, is impossible with the cars I have been given. Since it is all about luck in what cars you get, my garage contains 1 epic car, and four ultra rares, as my best five cars, four of which I believe are from previous campaign areas. There either needs to be another advanced game mode where you can get better cars withot spending stupid amounts of money, because I get mostly destroyed in PvP, and I am absolutely stumped by the final level. Great game, but now I’ve hit a point where I can no longer progress, giving me little to no reason to keep playing this game. I really hope you guys (Hutch) have a big update planned, because I am very close to giving up.

Update: Put of sheer frustration, I sold all of my cars, spent the money on ceramic packs (around 10 total) got 0 ultra rares and proceeded to get rid of all of my cars and all of my money. This game is evil and 100% pay to win. I spent no real money and I am very glad that I didn’t. Screw this game, and I will never play it again unless for some stupid reason Hutch decides to reach out to me. Good day, and do not download this game

Great game and great idea! But there is some problems

Honestly this game is just such good idea, but there is some problems. First of all you gave so much traction to people that have been playing since the start, so much free packs and deals. Now it is harder to come by those if you just start playing. I am an OG but the game is so much rougher now on the beginners. Also there are many problems in the tagging of the cars, Hutch seems to have left the game and is not fixing even the minor problems. For example a 1 seater Bentley is tagged as a 5 seater. There is many problems like this, please fix them. Also I think there should be more opportunities to get cash and gold in the game, and a race against your friends option. So in summary: don’t give up on the game, Make it easier for starters, More deals in packs, and more cash and gold quicker. ( The playing with friends was just a cool idea for a update.) Thanks for reading and hopefully the developers will read this. Bye

Great game but User Interface is still terrible

I have raised my review from 1 to 3 stars because the developers are finally making UI changes but it is still a chore to play. They need to add lockable cars so you can’t accidentally fuse your cars. Another filter that is really needed is in the My Cars screen, where it takes ages to find cars to upgrade if you have a medium to large library - adding a filter to hide fully upgraded cars would be a huge help. This same filter would be a huge help in the fusion screen which is currently a nightmare to use. Another great filter here would be cars with zero upgrades, which are normally the ones to be used to upgrade, so fusion could be quick and not take hours. Another painful mechanic is the screen to pick the cars for your matchups. You have to do them in order for some reason. It would be much better if u could drag cars in any order and have a button to start because you normally know where 1 or 2 cars go immediately, then have to keep in your head the others. It would also be nice to be able to see the race times in the results screen, so you can see how to improve.

The game is a lot of fun, but at the moment it feels like a second job. I think these improvements would make the game one of the best out there.

Flawed excellence

I love this game, as a serious car nerd it pushes all my buttons and is an excellent and engaging game. HOWEVER, there are some problems. Like many mobile games it is P2W, and the F2P content is laughably limited. Each week there are events you can compete in against other players (fun!) that require you to have specific types of cars with certain attributes in order to be competitive, and the best cars in the game are only available by winning these sorts of events. Over the course of the past month I spent $700 or more on card packs in an attempt to get a competitive lineup and win one of these prize cars and I frankly am nowhere near the top ten slots who will get the prize car. That’s not a sustainable model in my humble opinion. I will continue to play but i am not wasting anymore money on it, I wish I’d spent that on a PS5, which would bring much more lasting enjoyment. I get that developers like Hutch need to make money but this is out of control. Since I won’t be buying anymore packs I suspect that my ability to compete will wane, as will my interest in the game. If Hutch cares about their player community they would make more single player content that doesn’t require massive spending to enjoy.

Playing and paying for 6 months

Well I have put in over $2,000 into the game and even after being rewarded 800k gold(Literally $8,000 worth of game credits!!!!), the game is not worth the money. The issues I have had with lost cars and even before hutch gave me 800k gold, has made bring the rating down to 1 star from 5. After about 8 months of playing Top Drives, it has come to simply being a game that is played over years and aimed at grabbing cash from players. Even with thousands of dollars and years of playing(I have played the game since it first game to the market on other devices/files), it is a game designed without an end. The game itself is good but not worth the money as it takes literally thousands of dollars and or years of playing to have the better or best cars. With this being said, it is only a cash grab. Players will not have anything beyond the short story mode. Anyone like me who has spent over $1,000 let alone several hundred will not be competitive online against developers who add any car into their game files or rich people. With everything I have it would still take years to collect and upgrade more than half the cars in my current garage with out money. The game is excellent, the game play, collection of cars, servers but the game is meaningless to play without money. Completely meaningless.

PAY TO WIN

This is a cool game and all but boy if you don’t plan on spending money, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME. I had 2 epic performance and 3 ultra rares from at least a year of playing. I get bored one day and I have a little cash in the game so I buy a ceramic pack ($5.00) if you don’t have in game currency and I can’t even get an ultra rare, but yay a super rare which sells for 2,500 credits. By the way you can’t even buy a plastic (lowest cars) set of cards for that. Then I got frustrated by the game, sold all my cars including an Aston Martin V12 vantage, and Bentley continental gt and the rest of my cars in return for about 8 ceramic packs. Not one ultra or super rare from any of these 8 packs. To be honest I’ve probably got the worst cars I’ve ever pulled, basically what I’m saying is THIS GAME IS A RIP OFF AND ITS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. You’ll feel like your getting there at the start then boom. To complete this race your gonna need to spend $15 if you wanna get anything over a super rare then ya buy it and get complete trash. Developers are wayyy to money hungry and I hope they see this so they can at least put into consideration about how money hungry and how pay to win there game is. It doesent matter if they give me all the cars in the game, I will never and I repeat never redownload or play this game again.

Needs more

So I only gave the game four stars I love this game but I just wish I had more diversity with more cars and I feel like it’s pretty hard to get S class cars which I guess that’s kind of the point but I hate always never getting as class cars because they’re pretty hard to get and I feel like instead of having carbon fibers they should add another pack for like 40,000 that gives you S class anyways that’s just my opinion so yeah I also would like to see more cars like Ferrari and Tesla and all that stuff but yeah I know they have to get the licenses for that but I feel like that would be cool or maybe add bike bikes in the game where they’re like pretty good 0 to 60 pretty good handling but like they don’t have too high of a top feeding them like dirt bikes and then you can have motorcycles with the dirt bikes and stuff like the top speed for some of them will be only like 110 so they’re not really good for dragracing but they’ll be good for like off-road and stuff I feel like that would be pretty cool motorcycles would be pretty sick I it’s just my opinion everybody has their own opinion so yeah

Fuse and UPGRADE. Do not sell.

First of all, fabulous game. The gameplay is great, and it’s NOT a pay-to-win. I participate in the events daily and I like how no matter how good or bad you score, you always get prizes, and that makes the events fun, no matter what.

The main thing I want to point out- when you get cars in campaign mode, if you don’t want them, still keep them around for fusing, because fusing cars will allow you to upgrade them until they’re maxed out, and trust me, a maxed out car can be up to twice as fast, and twice as maneuverable. I always recommend fusing and fully upgrading your cars, because the out-of-the-box cars aren’t really that good unless they’re upgraded.
A great example of how effective fully upgrading and fusing your car is- I have this little Renault electric f1 kart, and it could beat class C cars on certain tracks. Now, after fully upgrading it, it can now beat even class A cars.

Note- THIS IS ALSO HOW YOU BEAT THE FINAL BOSS-YOU CAN USE THE CARS YOU WIN IN DAILY REWARDS AND CAMPAIGNS TO DO SO. I have made a list of the 5 you need to win.

- The Suzuki Swift Rally Spec from daily rewards. Upgraded to one star.

- The Lotus Elise you win from UAE. Upgraded and fused once.

- the corvette from Italy, fully upgraded.

- the Subaru from the second Japan boss- upgraded and fused once.

- the Camaro from the final US boss- fully upgraded, but don’t worry about fusing that one.

Very expensive game

It's a very fun game when you start out, trying to beat the cars in the individual scenarios and get rewards and more cars and such. It's challenging and fun. But the events are something else. To keep up with the "best" players you need to get the better faster cars and that requires card packs and real $$$. Even then, each card pack gives you mostly not such great cars and then one better one "rare," "super rare, " or better depending on the pack. But rare, super rare, etc doesn't always mean faster and better. It is very hard to get the top cars even when you spend $$$$$. And then you end up racing against cars with higher top speeds and lower, much lower 0-60 numbers and you don't win. And if you don't win matches, you don't win the better reward packs, and you get farther behind the people who somehow managed to get two, three or four cars with 0-60 less than 4, and less than 3, and top speeds of 190, 200 or more, and then you can't win. And what's the fun in losing so much? I spent way too much money on card packs, and still never got the really great cars, and now I'm not loving the game any more and kicking myself for getting fooled into buying packs hoping to get good cars.

Great game with little flaws

Overally very enjoyable game:
A. Idea of mixing car race with card game was genius. Especially for guys like me who played card games with cool cars on them (I dont remeber the name of the game) when we were kids, it is like a dream come true
B. Other factors besides measurable figures such as horse power seems to affect the result, which makes the game more complicated, but fun. If it was just about numbers you see, - speed, handling etc. - the game would have been a mere "card-pick-luck" game to draw money out of your pocket.

But what I cannot really understand are these
C. Nothing to enjoy after playing the campaign. Of course there is the multiplayer which is crazyly lacking of balance without any matching system applied, but you don't expect us to enjoy this right?
D. Even though the growth of the unpaid player may be severely slow compared to the ones who paid, there should be some kind of way to enjoy the game. I have 100% cleared the campaign and received the Mclaren prize a long time ago, but no way to upgrade the vehicle unless buying some cash. Normally there should be a way to receive something even though it takes time and effort, but this one doesn't. (Dont tell me there is daily events which pays me merely a thousand if you are really lucky selling all the vehicles received)

So much more to say, but have to get back to work

It’s a great game and all...

So, I’ve played top drives for a few months and love to play it. There are a few problems I’d like to address though, it’s almost impossible to get a legendary vehicle in the game. Now I understand that legendary vehicles are supposed to be hard to get but there should be a better way to obtain them. I’d say there should be a secondary campaign that’s twice as hard as the first but has way better prizes, like carbon fiber packs or ultra rare, epic, and legendary vehicles. There is one more thing I’d like to mention. I’ve completed the campaign and have mad a few mistakes so I’ve wanted to restart the game for a few weeks now. So I think it would be awesome if there was a save file system where you get three save files that you can delete and save when you want. That might just be something only I want but it still would
Be cool to have a feature like that. Over all it’s a fun game and I’ve recommended it to all of my friends.

Really good but....

You guys really need to bring back daily events, because a lot of the time the filters in the events I cannot play and I could actually play something in the daily events, the new club thing just doesn’t cut it because they also have filters like x5 Renault and I’m like okay that’s good for people who pay but I’m not trying to spend $100 on a game I might not play in 10 years, and also for the weekly challenge I think the AI cars should abide from the filters because for all rainy maps the filter is that I had to have at max 4 performance tires so I was okay but the AI gets to choose as many standard tires as much as they want and I can’t even get through the first faze of the challenge, I get it has to be difficult but if you played this game standard gets like 10 more grip in rain then performance tires, also the Acura NSX is classified as an American vehicle which I know Acura is marked at North America but I think the cars should be from its origins, like Ford is labeled as British which it is actually American.

Love it, but...

The game is great, overall. It’s different than most racing games, well-designed for representing a wide variety of cars in a slew of tracks, but there are a few programming errors that drive me nuts:

- since the last update or so, videos will rarely load. The sound will cut as if a video will play, and then nothing happens. I fall further and further behind from the lack of gold available in this manner.
- On a related note, gold is too expensive to purchase. If it had 1/2 off specials or something, I would probably spring for it on occasion, but definitely not at these rates. It’s far too much.
- You can’t lock a lot of vehicles when they first come out, so I have accidentally consumed them or sold them, only to not find them again. Please ensure that they can be locked as soon as you receive them. It’s heartbreaking to lose a car you put a lot of work into.

Problems , BIG PROBLEMS

So I have a lot of problems with this game and I’m first going to start out with the prize cars and how you can’t win them again. I was thinking that you can get the prize car again and again but it won’t give you any money by sellingit and you could only have 1 prize car at a time for each campaign chapter. If you sell that one you can get it a second time but it won’t cost anything. Because I have 94 RQ and my best car is a focus RS and the competition that I’m versing has S A and B class cars and I can’t seem to beat them and I lost all my b class cars and can’t seem to get them back from card packs. And I’m also stuck on the UAE because on the second to last level it tells me that I need a car that can GO 170 AND I DO BUT THE TWO I HAVE BOTH DNF AT 145 MPH AND I HAVE NO HOPE AND I AM STUCK AND CANT MOVE ON. All I need is a S CLASS 2 A CLASS AND 6 B CLASS CARS. and don’t make having to DNF mean that your opponents get a whopping 250 points. Thank you and Hutch. I would have another chance and not delete this game. Thank you.

P2W

I’ll be the first to say that I’ve dropped a decent amount of money on this game and I’m still way behind the competition. The system promotes P2W and if you’re playing events or challenges paying is the only way to reach the top. Once you claim everything from the Single Player campaign the source of money income is laughable. In order to complete some events you need a random F Tier car that you never thought you would need and in order to make space in your garage you discarded said car, short story is that I believe garage slots are a big problem and there needs to be an alternative. I will continue to play this game but I will try to keep my credit card away from it. I love the idea of cars racing each other in events but its just way too much of a gambling game. Also side note if you do decide to start playing join the Blue club they almost always win the events and I’m red.

Takahashi

They basically force you to be ryosuke takahashi in this game, a lot of car knowledge and condition knowledge and a lot of money, also they should offer better cars in there packs no matter how small it is, I’ve spent 279 coins for off-road pack and none of the cars was what I needed to compete and neither was super rare car, u gotta buy it twice for a good car which is a huge waste in coins and completely stingy. Also I hate that the fact that when you play online events you don’t know the type of road condition or kinda “race” it’ll be (I’m sure everyone does) so you can’t be fully confident about the cars you choose going into a match and then you get killed and then get killed even more when your not in the game, this is the only game that plays for you when your not on it!! Unless you pay to play

Fun! Suggestions!

The game is very easy to pick up and get going with, and if you’re f2p you’ve just got to be patient in the long run. Anyways, I’ve only played the game for a day, and have a few suggestions that would make this game feel like less of a grind.
1. Rather than having to tap to continue between rounds in a race maybe implement a 5 second timer that automatically moves on to the next round. 2. In the settings it would be very nice to be able to turn on the fast-forward speed rather than having to hold your finger on the screen, that way it would simply be max speed right away. 3. When you connect with Facebook it would be nice when you’re doing challenges that only your first name is shown and not the entire name.
Anyways, that’s all I’ve got for now. The first two would definitely up this game to 5 stars as it would make it feel much less like a grind. The third is simply a personal preference.
