I’m saddened that I feel compelled to write such a scathing review on Anki. I was the founder of the first fan group for this product many years ago and worked with the designers on testing and trade show demos. (Was not an employee just the first and original fan of the game) I stopped working with them and promoting my fan group a couple years ago when they took the game in a direction I disagreed with. Since that time my set sat idle. Recently a child came into my life that I felt would love to play Anki. To my disappointment I set up my track got out the cars and found out that my old set does not work anymore. I was not upset for myself but for the child who saw what it and he was jumping up and down to play. I reached out to my old contacts via email and phone to see about a resolution and they have chosen not to reply. I looked into a resolution online only to find out that I would be forced to buy for another $149 an Overdrive starter just to get my old set to work. I spent thousands on this game in both money and my time, I will not buy the new set just to get my old set to work again. To me that shows a great disrespect to the customers. Also that none of my contacts with the company that I assisted years ago will even respond to me, also shows a lack of respect and loyalty to someone who thought so highly of the game. This game is on another level of trash, I got this game for Christmas and fell in love with it and have tried to stick with all the issues and everything for the three years I have had it. It takes me at least an hour to get into one match with my brother, we have to restart the phones over and over along with the WiFi, turn the cars off and on countless times and when we do finally make it into a match, we can’t even select a car. I have spent over 1000 dollars on this game, I shouldn’t have to do all this to play the fricken game. The cars don’t charge most of the time for Christ’s sake. I take major care of this game by cleaning the tracks one by one getting all the stuff off, the same with the cars. I kept all the boxes to all my stuff I bought and put it back in when done. I am just tired of dealing with not getting to play a single match with someone without the game crashing, not connecting to cars, having the host or other player disconnect, or have the car come off the track every 10 seconds, which I’m fine with if I even get in a game. Fix this Anki...fix it...now.

I’m only 15 years old and I spent time saving up $150 to buy the original Anki drive. Anki won’t even give me a refund. Years ago I bought the original Anki drive app and spent a few hours on the game. A few months back I bought another $50 car to use along with the game only to find I can’t open AnkiOVERDRIVE . It disappoints me I can’t use $150 of amazing technology sitting at my finger tips. Anki says there over drive app is compatible with the old cars and track but that isn’t true. The old app didn’t have an option to buy coins with real life money and the new app doesn’t work too well with the old cars. I have the original track and the cars start about 2 feet in front of the starting line. The new app is a scam and is no fun compared to the old one. Why can’t Anki just leave the old app up on AnkiOVERDRIVE Store? This is the worst decision Anki’s ever made and I will never be recommending this company to anyone else.

Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I long for the days that you could put the cars on the track and just play. Now, if both players aren’t using the same version, you have to waste time updating AnkiOVERDRIVE , installing a new firmware version for the car and logging back in. God help you if you forget your login and password. By the time you get everything straight, the kids have lost interest and I’m ready to throw the whole thing in the trash.
If you do get it running, the clunky interface doesn’t help. Controls are a pain and you spend much of your time chasing the cars that CONTINUALLY go off the track. Once they do, it only gets worse because once they tires get dirty, they swerve all over. So stop the game to clean tires. Fun.
Occasionally, when the stars align, the game is fun. But for as expensive as it is, it shouldn’t be as incredibly aggravating as it is.

I love this game and a year or two ago it was prefect

But now it’s changed

Problem 1 campaign
The new campaign is dumb it’s too easy
And since I like to play this alone it isn’t rewarding anymore beating the same people(also the boss music in old tournament was a nice touch) the old people were so cool the new ones aren’t even new they are just reskined and stupid

Problem 2 connection
As in a lot of the other reviews my cars don’t work as well

I do not think it is my cars though. One of my friends bought a brand new nuke then we played campaign and it was not working like it used too. The cars wobble on turns

Problem 3 minor problems

1 I don’t get as many items as I should in the shop
2 won’t connect or load cars or takes a while
3 you have neglected all the cool people in campaign

All in all this gets two stars because I love it but it needs major improvements so anki please fix my problems

And really I am extremely upset angry disappointed and saddened with the so called new campaign and the worst part is there is no videos about the old tournament

Fix. Your. Game.

The game is great, but updates for the campaign have changed the experience to much and engines sounds to realistic for cars that look futuristic. the old campaign was called tournament. it was fun and the commanders felt like they had their own lives and personalities. now it feels like they were held at gun point and lost all their personalities. we lost several commanders from the old mode tournament that is now called campaign. i want them back and the old engine sounds. they felt like they belonged to the cars. the current engine sounds fell like they belong to the fast and furious. i am also disappointed that the company that bought anki , digital dream labs haven’t decided to update the overdrive and fast and furious apps i really hope they can update and take care of what anki had left.

I have had so much fun with this game and love playing it with friends and highly recommend this game for anyone. I keep buying more add one to make bigger and crazier tracks and love it. The only things I have had an issue with is a few almost impossible and an actual impossible challenge. So the first campaign match where you are against fuzz and can use weapons has an issue. His challenge states you must disable him with a medium range weapon but being the game forces you to use only a short range weapon so even after completing the whole story mode and going back you are still only able to use a short range weapon on him aka impossible..

The issue is that the last battles you must disable your opponents between 11 to 15 times in a matter of 120 seconds and using a car that can’t instantly kill like a truck does. It seems the only way to beat this is to have two friends buy trucks and help you but even then the opponent would need to be disabled every 10 seconds or less and the time it takes the car to become active again is about 5 seconds which makes these challenges near impossible

I really like this game. It’s fun and entertaining. But, (and I only have x52, groundshock, nuke, and skull) nuke has NO support item upgrades, and skull has four weapon slots while only having three weapons! What is with that?
The only cool thing about the update, really, is that all campaign users can use super trucks! And that’s just you guys being lazy about not making more characters! The new system for weapons is AWFUL. When you shoot something, only the automatic guns will let you switch at any time. If I have, say, a depth charge charged up (skull), and then some other car is coming up behind me while the depth charge is awhile away, I can let go, but then have to wait a few seconds before I can use my other weapons! If I don’t have the boost support upgrade, bye bye skull. So FIX IT! Also, make the free play have longer games.

FYI If you are having trouble with your car on the track, take a wet rag and rub it on the track. Then take tape and rub the sticky side on all parts of the back tires. There will be way more traction. Don’t use duck tape, though.. scotch or electric is recommended

I’ve been playing Anki OVERDRIVE for quite a while now, and I just love the game. It’s very fun, never gets old and is very addicting. The only problems I have with it are the newest updates that Anki has released. The Supertruck X-52 is my personal favorite and vehicle of choice, and the interface used to look so cool. Now (specifically the Rage option) looks very cheap and lacking effort. Also, the narrator’s voice is way too “calm” and sounds almost creepy. Also, I really don’t like having to start over with my upgrades to X-52 every time a major update is released. I had every weapon on it fully upgraded, and now they’re all back to level 1. Finally, I bought it may be a good idea to occasionally put a Supertruck Power-up thingy in the shop, but for a bit more coins.
Hopefully, maybe, Anki takes a look at these problems. It is such a fun game and I absolutely love it, but I hate these newest updates. Thanks!

I love the idea of a video game coming to life, and ever time I play with it, I enjoy it. After awhile I get bored with it though. I want there to be more game modes and more guns and stuff. Maybe make weekly or monthly tasks/missions. I love the idea of upgrading the cars but I feel like there needs to be more stuff you earn/get when you reach a certain level.

I believe that you, ANKI, can make this game even more fun than it is!! In a nut shell, id love to see missions/tasks (monthly/weekly), more game modes, and last but not least, a better, more fun upgrading system. Like a legit video game. Where you upgrade ur car and get certain powers and can do more cool things on the track.

Anki overdrive has been a blast, I used to play all the time, but the most fun game of all was the one shot one kill race mode. I played this with everyone and we always had a great time. Then it was taken away and I played a lot less. I did see this latest update “brought back” the golden sniper but it’s not the same as the original because this version is only about disabling the other cars. In the original version, you could also do a race for laps, but with all cars having the golden sniper (one shot, one kill). That was the best game Anki Overdrive had to offer and it’s no longer available which makes Anki a lot less attractive to me. If there’s anyway the race version of one shot, one kill can be added back, this would be 5 stars no doubt and you would have a very appreciative fan.

I love anki overdrive It's really fun but it's hard to beat the game. The commanders can shoot you when you're across the track and if they are turning or they just got on the track and started racing if you shoot sometimes you won't hit them. Also when I place down a mine they can drive over it and be fine. The weapons should be for every car that you have and if you level up one car you can level up the other cars you have. They should also add some more things to the track and cars like they should make some more trucks and cars to play with and the battery in the car should last for a little bit longer. They should make some more track peaces like a higher stand up thing or one that can hold two tracks or a six or eight way intersection. I love anki overdrive but it needs to change a little bit.

This game is very fun and is something that I would 100% recommend to get. But I have one issue with the car’s, I just pulled out the set after years of not playing it, and when I signed in to a new account, it shows up a list of things you need to do set up the game, like make a track and choose a car. Well when I tried to equip Ground Shock but it just kept denying it, I soon then skipped it and played the game. I then see in my menu that Ground Shock can’t be used, (in the actual game) and I became confused. I tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. I might not be able to use Ground Shock again :( But in the garage, it says that I own Ground Shock, which confuses me even more, can someone please respond for any advice that they can give me on how to fix this problem. Please

When I got this close to Christmas, I was over-excited; so excited. But, after a year or so, Anki went out of business. Luckily, my Anki Overdrive cars GroundShock, Thermo, and Skull and my super truck FreeWheel, were in perfect condition, so I didn’t need to get it repaired. But then, suddenly, the AI started to, well, not work. What I mean by this is that....... Well, so the AI were always sharp and smart, so I sometimes got beaten up by them. Now, the AI aren’t moving; when i selected Gold Tier AI’s, they weren’t doing anything, the cars were just rolling, nothing happening. So, I tried those cars that weren’t doing anything, to see if their wheels were failing or something, but no; it worked just well for me. The AI’s are fine now, almost. But overall, I would recommend this to ANYONE.

The idea of this game is downright genius and playing it is so fun. If you get it, you’ll love it, but for me personally, there’s two minor problems.

Online, it says that the Guardian’s brakes have been discontinued. However, I find that rather odd, since because I still have them, and the last update for the game was like, a year ago.
Also each time I try to buy the entrapment field for my car as soon as I get on the track to race with it, it disappears? I also thought it was my phone at first but after turning it off, updating it and doing everything in power it still keeps vanishing after I buy it. If that could be fixed that would be great.
