    The day of the Personal Touch is gone!

    I guess I’m somewhat old fashioned, but I would still like to talk to the doctor when test results indicate that there are new significant health concerns, instead of receiving cryptic messages through the app containing misspelled words, medical terms that require Googling and warnings like “URGENT- see the first available cardiologist!” Imagine getting that message and having all weekend to sit around and ponder it because the phone lines are closed until Monday! A simple 5 minute phone call saying “here’s what we have learned and here’s what we need to do next” should still be the norm when circumstances merit it. Maybe once they figure out how to bill for it, the personal touch will make a comeback.

    I have severely underutilized this app...

    Everything from billing to electronic copies of paperwork, results, follow ups, “homework”... It takes the guesswork out of everything. To be fair, I give credit to the doctors, too, who see results from a separate visit at a different location and follow up with a note acknowledging they’ve seen it and providing more insight or assigning additional tasks/appointments within the app. It relieves a lot of stress and minimizes personal legwork and time chasing information down.

    Not much more effective than e-mail

    What I was really looking for was consolidating all my health & medical data in one place. Though this app claims it can, it doesn’t. Besides, lab results and vitals are only presented in a report format. I’d prefer a graph to follow a single detail’s peaks & valleys accompanied by an overall overview report that includes advice on how to best improve myself & what to avoid. I was hoping this app would sync all vitals & labs to Apple’s Health app. That would’ve been the best. It doesn’t, & even though my doctor claims the’ll eventually get around to that, I personally doubt it. I don’t believe I’ll be hanging on to this app much longer.

    Efficient

    Signed in yesterday after a few years and very easily was able to reset my password to gain access. I emailed my doctor last night about few questions and got a call from the nurse today at 8:30am with answers. So simple and effortless. I also made an appointment with my doctors, which was also easy. Love this app.

    Basic app but has major room for improvements

    It’s a bit buggy and slow to get your results. Often need to reload the same page a few times until you see your info. But the BIGGEST flaw is that they do not allow export into Apple Health app. This should be standard in health info systems and allows one to track your own data forever. Please bring this feature and export into Apple Health like many of the other modern providers have already done.

    Crashes when Change Calendar

    This app allows the user to pick a calendar type when you save an appointment to the iPad Calendar. It allows you to switch from the default google calendar to a different one. But as soon as tapping the option, the app crashes.

    Can an app be gender bias?

    When a medical app/records site can’t support a person changing their name, it’s a problem. People change their names for marriage, divorce, and identity alterations. The majority of WOMEN will do this at least once, many more than once in their lives. This system assigns user names as first and middle initial with last name - and then no changes allowed. My reward for being a loyal NorthShore user from the beginning, is that 11 years after a divorce (and six years after a new marriage) my log in is still my ex husbands last name. I can’t update the user name to MY LEGAL NAME. My doctors get messages from me, or send me reminders, and the user name isn’t even my name... that’s confusing for everyone, and just stupid all around. Do better NorthShore. Fix this.

    No calendar for appointments

    When scheduling appointments through the app, a drop down calendar would be better than a daily scroll. Having to go through six months to get to the date I wanted is not patient friendly. Also, the screen asking for the appointment type-established patient yearly exam had redundancy when you have to fill in a box stating what the appointment is for.

    Suggested Update

    I think the app is pretty easy to use but it’s missing some features. One that’s been bothering me is that I can see my inbox to read my doctors messages but can’t see my Sent box to see what I emailed them. Is this something that can be added? Thanks!

    I couldn’t manage my health care without it.

    I love that I can schedule my doctor visits, message my doctors, view my test results, pay my bills and also act as proxy for my Mom. I never talk to anyone anymore just use the app or my PC!

    Only works when connected to WiFi. Doesn’t work over network connection.

    Can only use with Wifi

    For everyone unable to log-in, you have to be on wifi (if seems). I thought it was a bad app, or an update. As soon as I tried it with wifi it worked and I logged on!

    Doesn’t work

    This app was great for a few weeks but I’m finding the last few weeks it just doesn’t load. I don’t know why it doesn’t connect to any servers but I can’t even log in. I enjoyed having the capability to send direct messages to my doctors, set up appointments etc. as opposed to constantly being on hold but this just doesn’t work anymore so I have no reason to keep this app.

    App woke me in middle of night

    I did not appreciate being woken up by the North Shore Health app at 4:30 in the morning to receive a notification that my billing statement was available!!! #FAIL #ANNOYING If you download this app, be sure to turn off sounds notifications or else they will send nonurgent messages in the middle of the night.

    NorthShore connect

    This new version is a nightmare. You need magnifying glasses to even be able to see or read what is presented. It took me over 40 minutes to “sign in” with the misleading options to start looking at your personal account. I cannot believe how horrible this is. The last system was PERFECT. Always responded in comprehensive way and ALWAYS easy to interpret your medical tests and reports. PLEASE GO BACK TO OLDER APP VERSION. Joan Berg This won’t even let me submit my Review. Terrible! Tried 10 “nicknames” and this tells me they are already used!! Ridiculous!
