Well what a waste - I thought I’d use this one over another because you could add names of your own to the likes list for your partner to see and in 12 hours apparently I’ve seen “all” the girls names??! Completely stupid - Several duplicates seen and there must have been only 100 options. I’ve only opened Kinder 3 times! Don’t bother

After I purchased additional name packs, Kinder immediately crashes every time I try to open it.

We really liked it because see we were having issues agreeing on names. Then we found out after the first list you have to pay a dollar for each new list. A book of names is about 12 dollars for 100,000 names. Not paying a dollar per 50 names.
by Treegust
In the early days of Kinder there was a plethora of names and it was fun and easy to use. Now it’s impossible to connect with your partner, always an internet connection issue and you need to pay each each name set.

I made an in-app purchase for an additional language. The selection of names was tiny. What a ripoff. Would like my money back.
by John A Westlund
I enjoy Kinder but I wish there was a way to reset your selections or switch to new list for a different kid
by Forbes1776
My wife and I bought some of the name packs and they only contacted about 5 names. Quite the rip off.
by Angela331
But I can’t connect my list with my husband. We’ve tried many times. So, it’s useless currently.
by Nickname211021
The concept is cute. We went through the original pack of names pretty quickly so I purchased the packs. Kinder proceeded to crash, won’t reopen, and I can only assume I’ve lost all my likes and such associated with it. I don’t see any way to contact Kinder developer outside of Kinder either so that’s frustrating.
by Eeh2014
Enjoyed at first but as soon as I paid to add more collections of names now Kinder immediately shuts down when I open it.
by Alylop1005
There’s like 200 boy names it let me see. I had it for an hour or two before running out. Waste of time.
by As121719
I would be very curious to find out how they decided which names to include as it seems very random and very limited. It seems to me it would be easy enough to include the top 1000 US names as released by the SSA. As other reviews have said, a lot of the names from other cultures are inaccurate as well. It’s a neat concept and it’s kind of fun to get conversations started, but in reality the actual names in their database are an extremely random selection.

Delete app after the first suggestion.. Homer..

Whatever new update yall did right before june 22 messed up Kinder , I cant even access Kinder anymore after the update while right before I could

Ran out of names too quickly.

This is such a great, easy way to see what you and your partner like in names. I love that you can select different cultures/languages too. The only thing I wish was different is that there is no information given on the names. You swipe left or right on the name, but you can’t click on it to find out which language it’s coming from or what it means or anything. If you have more than one language chosen at one time, there is no way to tell which one the name is coming from. I keep having to Google names that it suggests. But it’s still a good starting point!

After being undecided and deciding between three names for many months with no conclusion.. I downloaded Kinder the month my daughter was due. I found a whole new name that I love and has good meaning - Eliana. That’s her name now. Thank you very much. Very happy I stumbled upon this.

I love Kinder. Easy to use and save names you both like. Really clean look too. Highly recommend.
by Jookitcz
Wonderful app - super fun and useful. But I ran through the library of names in about 15 minutes. It would be awesome to be able to import more names from other websites!

1st. They have arranged all the names in mutually exclusive categories, so some quite common names cannot be found without swiping through hundreds of ethnic names I have no interest in. The developers should create additional categories like the most popular in the US, classic biblical names, etc, and allow names to appear in more than one category.
2nd. I spent a great many hours early in my pregnancy swiping through thousands of names (way more than I should have had to!). And now at the end of my pregnancy, I’ve gone back to see if there were any good ones I’ve forgotten about (and matched with my husband) and it’s lost my data! Unacceptable.
by VadHt
0.99 per category. Not worth it for names you can Google for free.

Clara is not a guys name ever... and I wish they added pronunciation to the names.. also I want to see the name with my middle name
by Expecting Mom 22
It won’t allow someone to connect to it as my partner. Gives an error tried multiple times
by Admiralpumpkin
The interface is nice.
But the name list is trapped uselessly in Kinder . Add an export or share option ASAP!!

I have never felt compelled to leave a review before, but I’m doing it today so that others can have a better idea before buying a language expansion. I purchased the Japanese name expansion today, hoping it would give me some ideas for a Japanese name for our baby. The names were... disappointing.
Around half were real names and gendered correctly, 1/4 were just Japanese words put in as a “name”, several were gendered incorrectly, and on occasion I got the random not Japanese name like Archibald and Holden (I had the English name setting switched off). It was only $0.99, but i would hate for a non-Japanese speaking person (like a second or third generation Japanese American) to fall in love with a misgendered word for a Japanese name and end up with one of those tattoo-fail moments—except as a name for their child.
Otherwise Kinder is easy to use and intuitive, so I gave it two stars.

There should be an option to suggest names as there are very limited names for Vietnam specifically. Also, some of the names are ridiculous and are not even Vietnamese. There should be an option to report incorrect names as well. After going through just the Vietnamese names alone, I am afraid to go through the English names as I feel like there's only a limited number of names as well. When reviewing names, I want to go through all the options that are available out there.

Easy to use, and provides a fun way to look at names from lots of traditional names (and not so traditional ones, a la Pokémon and LOTR) that my wife and I used to find some unique names.
Unfortunately, after accruing around a dozen matches and hundreds of disliked/liked names, we lost all our matches when I upgraded to a new phone. Since there is not really a saved profile or account save for Kinder itself, all my likes and matches were saved on my old phone and were lost, forcing us to start all over again.
Names also tend to repeat with only slightly changed spellings from others you may have already seen and liked or disliked.
Overall useful app, but beware of restoring/upgrading your phone or Kinder if you’ve already invested time into using it!!
by Elwood_37
We have fun with Kinder. It sparks some good conversations.
I really wish there was a way to export the whole list of matched names though. Since our likes aren't linked to an account we can log back into, it seems too easy to lose all the data. Being able to export the list would help.
I also really wish there was a way to look at your stats, too. What percentage of names do I like? Would be so fun to know (and compare).

My husband and I have loved swiping through names and seeing what we match (and don't match!) on. The only thing keeping it from a 5-star rating is there appears to be a small glitch; my husband's app is showing a couple matched names that my app has not updated to show, even after completely closing out of Kinder .

Awesome app!! We love it! So creative and fun. Only giving 4 stars because it needs to be taken to the next level! In Tinder you can click into the people up get more info on them. On this app you should be able to click into the name and name origin, meaning, and famous people with that name!

I don’t think Kinder is the end solution to choose the name for your child, I just hope to inspire, get the discussion going in a positive way and help out! Having a baby is a fun, sacred, but also tiring and possibly stressful time.
Through Kinder you can quickly swipe name suggestions you like to the right and dismiss the ones you don’t like.
If that doesn’t help it might be your time settings; those must be set to automatic, otherwise the connection mechanism can’t connect you unfortunately.
They were having their first child and my question was: ‘How do you find a name?’.
You get one name set for free based on your location and if you want you can easily buy additional name sets for a small fee.
Kinder is a super simple name choosing app.
Purchased name sets will also be available for your partner.
If you can’t connect it might be that the connection code is expired.
We are very sorry, unfortunately we don’t have a feature to save your likes, dismisses and matches just yet.
As you can read, Kinder is just a small one-man company.
I’m a Dutch guy who had an idea after having dinner with a couple of friends years ago.
You can connect to your partner to find matches.
Yes! It might not show up in a split second, but if you’re connected purchases will be shared.
So please bear with us! If after that time you still don’t see them, please try to restart the app.
