My company makes us use Hotel Engine. Very bad experience consistently. We will book rooms, get to the hotel, and then be told by the hotel that there are actually no rooms available. Whether you get your loyalty points for Hilton is 50/50. You never know. And they don’t even have a loyalty program for Marriott. Then asking for help from Hotel Engine support is pointless. Don’t do it.

EngineCorporateTravel is unreliable. When I try to make a reservation, 9 of 10 times I cannot process the reservation and have to close EngineCorporateTravel completely, open it back up and start all over again with a different hotel. I have uninstalled and reinstalled EngineCorporateTravel multiple times, but still have the same problem. I can’t keep count of the numerous times my people are left standing at the hotel desk unable to check in, and can get no help from the “support desk” at hotel engine after I finally have made a reservation.

Booked a room with the ap and used it while on a nursing travel assignment, they say that you can obtain points through Wyndham using the ap for certain hotels however I contacted Wyndham and basically it was a lie since it was 3rd party. Bad business for advertising. You shouldn’t lie on other companies to receive business and make the customer feel like there are perks to utilizing your service

This is the only review I have ever written for an app, this thing is terrible. Constant booking errors, half the time they don’t carry your rewards information through especially IHG. Since my company started forcing us to use it for booking our rooms in December I’ve easily wasted 20 hours of my life dealing with its issues. All of my companies 30+ pilots HATE using it. It has easily become the least favorite part of my job. Terrible experience.

I accidentally booked flight by mistake and did cancel immediately. I then requested a refund and the rep claimed to have issued a refund but NEVER received the refund to my account. Called them many times and they all claimed the same. Even got my bank involved but still fail. Now I lost the money. Another issue is adding payment, it seems simple but keeps getting declined. Contact the support and just keep getting disconnected.
I was using EngineCorporateTravel just because I got discount with company but regretted of using it.

This is the worst app I’ve ever used for booking rooms not user friendly at all needs a lot of improvements and that probably will never get done cause nobody cares when you tell them about the problems every single night there is a problem with a room and it’s taking an extra hour to get into the room this is getting old

There are some good deals out there. You have to be careful I booked a hotel room at the Hyde Hotel in Hollywood Florida room cost was $148 plus taxes and fees that came to $302 for one night stay then when I checked out I got hit with another set of resort charges taxes and fees by the hotel. Tried to go through Hotel Engine with no avail. So what should it cost me $300 to stay the night at this property ended up costing me $585 that’s why I say be careful careful especially at properties that charge resort fees because they are not in the price of Hotel Engine and they don’t let you know that.

After talking to the sales person at HE, I signed up for an upcoming trip. I did not know this, but as soon as I booked the rooms, they billed me. After a couple of weeks, the trip plan changed by one day so called customer service to cancel one day on both rooms.
Upon arriving at the hotel, they moved one room and hotel canceled the other due to a “no show” and hotel engine’s cc didn’t work. We called customer service again and they said they’d call right back. No fun sitting in hotel lobby for three hours and several attempts to contact HE was a dismal failure. I then called and got two rooms at a different hotel and I’m still waiting for the refund from the original hotel.

Avoid Engine and save yourself time and money by doing so. I can not even get the login on EngineCorporateTravel to work to review my account. I have been quoted figured that were “negotiated” then took 6 weeks to have paperwork on, all of which was wrong/more expensive. No one owns up to their work nor timely in their response, unless them getting paid is concerned and then they will not stop calling even when you’re very clear on when you’re available and intent on your request. Being in sales, contract negotiations specifically, I hoped someone could take over that burden and let me be a bride. Not Engine. They aren’t even honest - they sent me a “we got it!” response when the agreement was in hand, but intentionally left out all the differences from the original agreement so I’d sign and hopefully never catch all the errors. Really bad business practices and very dishonest.

Every single time I have booked with this company I have had hotel issues or refund issues. The staff seems friendly at first but do nothing for you when you are in need. They don’t listen to your preferences on the phone and don’t even reward the refund! I have been put on hold for 30+ mins before or told “we will call you back” when in reality after 2+ hours you will have to call them back just to be told they couldn’t do anything for you. It took a WHOLE DAY to discuss if I could get a refund for a hotel that I canceled in the allotted amount of time on EngineCorporateTravel but them telling me I couldn’t?! Even though I was within the policy’s rules. I booked a hotel the had okay rating to find out I was put in a room with BED BUGS and I am told I am getting only half of my money back in travel credits whenever I asked for a full refund to my card. They disregard your preferences and try to just scam you out of money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!! They only want to screw you over!

Hotel Engine does not do price match. For example, I’ve found Staybridge hotel from IHG website for $95 and $90 for government rate. HE charges the same hotel at $99. They’re in the business of reselling at higher markup. Small pocket change but multiplied by thousands of transaction per day equal substantial profit margin.
Hotel Engine is a mediocre platform for hotel reservation. State of TX has a multi-year contract with Hotel Engine (HE) which makes no sense since it is a new player without a proven record. It’s better for State of TX employees to book direct with hotel because at least it gives them more choices. HE search result is very dishonest and misleading. On the mobile app, there is no way to filter out room that is not available on the search result so you end up wasting time clicking through each hotel to find it has room available. Prices are often higher than direct booking. I would not recommend EngineCorporateTravel to anyone unless you don’t have any other option.

I relied on EngineCorporateTravel for all my travel needs. As a weekly traveler for work. Since the “log-in” update a month ago I can’t access EngineCorporateTravel . I have to go on an actual computer to access my account. Which still takes a few log in attempts. Extremely frustrating especially since I sent an email asking for assistance and still haven’t received any.
The last few years I booked everything in EngineCorporateTravel for “hotel engine”, which was awesome and absolutely amazing. Now “Engine “ honestly is a massive disappointment and has massive app issues especially with logging in. If you need EngineCorporateTravel for phone use only wait for more “bug fixes “.

Great rates but… Twice this week I have tried to book a hotel. First time “the room is no longer available at that price”. Started another search, the same hotel/rate appears, go through booking and “no longer available”. Second booking, found my room, entered details/CC etc and EngineCorporateTravel hung. Gave up and booked on one of the big sites.

I made an account with this company bc of their ‘promises’ to be significantly cheaper than anything you can find publicly …. I am drastically disappointed. After submitting my CC info, just so I could finally VIEW the actual offers, it’s nothing different price wise. The only difference, I can see, Is the ability to accumulate loyalty pts. Meh… big whoop

EngineCorporateTravel is great. Reservations are quick and easy. Only advise I have is read about section of any hotel you like and look at parking there have become more and more money hungry hotel that charge $10 or more per day to park in their parking lot. Since buried in description most don’t see and hotel don’t say anything but will charge you with card on file in middle of night and slide receipt under door read parking section closely they will get you if not.

I had a horrible experience with a hotel and Hotel Engine handled my situation with diligence and quickness. I am very happy to have you guys! My heartfelt appreciation goes out to the team. Thanks so much guys!

Love the ease of use of EngineCorporateTravel. Really helpful with my favorite bookings on the fly and also being able to use my rewards points.

I don’t know where I heard about this but I’ve told several others. It’s a great app for a small business owners that travel a lot for work
