🏷️ About:
Note: To use Bookings, you need an Office 365 Business Premium account.
Microsoft Bookings is an appointment scheduling app that helps you keep track of your bookings, your staff and your customers.
Bookings seemed like a great way for a small business to handle clients without all of the additional fees of an app like Square. Unfortunately, it stopped working when I updated my phone and I didn't realize it until a client called to ask me where I was. She had altered the time of her appointment and I didn't receive a notification. When I tried to open MicrosoftBookings - nothing. Microsoft told me to talk to GoDaddy and I have always had good experiences with GoDaddy support. Unfortunately, this issue is on Microsoft's end and even though I contacted them again, I have yet to receive any sort of acknowledgement or advice in regards to why their app has stopped working on my phone. I can access Bookings through a web browser but the screen is cut off and hard to navigate and all of this defeats the purpose of the simplicity that I wanted. I guess I will return to using Square or GoDaddy's built in scheduling but I am not happy about this. I enjoyed the idea of being able to designate specific days for specific services and neither of those allows this flexibility.
Terrible Location Field implementation and no app support
2022-07-22
by Vlshdk
Location field is inconsistent. Exact same format (number street suffix city state zip) sometimes results in location field that is clickable and sometimes results in a field that is not clickable (cannot open in maps, cannot copy). I’ve tried all combinations of punctuation and abbreviations. There’s no rhyme or reason behind which format works or doesn’t. Address autocomplete universally does NOT work and results in non-interactive location field.
In app support does not work (404 or similar). MS support says they aren’t related to MicrosoftBookings .
Stopped Working

App stopped working a week after using it. “Failed to load bookings, try again later” 4 other team members have the same issue. Website on desktop works fine. Not useful for people always away from a computer. There is no “mobile web” version of the site either, making the service useless for IT professionals. Submitted feedback about the issue but never heard back.
Bugs make it extremely frustrating to use

Pros: shows the bookings calendars Cons: does not work with dark mode, the background switches to black, but the text is also black so you cannot read anything. Does not save which calendars you selected to filter to, so each time MicrosoftBookings is opened you have to select the calendars you actually want/need to see. When you do get it filtered to the calendars you want to see it takes forever to load the actual calendars.
Bookings itself is great, but the iOS app is terrible.
MicrosoftBookings lacks support for dark mode, which makes it nearly unusable because it puts black text on a black background. Unlike the Outlook app, there is no setting to change the theme within the Bookings app, so your only option is to stop using dark mode altogether.
I wish I could say this is a new issue, but it’s been around for at least 5 months.
None of the feedback buttons work, all of them throw an error stating that UserVoice is not properly configured. If you tap on MicrosoftBookings Support link in the AppStore, it goes to a Microsoft page that doesn’t exist.
I don’t normally leave feedback by submitting one-star reviews, but in this case I don’t have a choice. Hopefully a developer sees it and fixes these issues.
Crucial Feature Missing
2022-11-26
by Gabriel B
I love Bookings as a feature of Office365 and it works great within Outlook, but it’s annoying that when I receive a notification from within MicrosoftBookings , I’m unable to accept or reject the booking request. All I can do is see the request and the details. Either the feature exists, but is hidden behind poor design or the feature is missing, which is a huge oversight. Fix that and MicrosoftBookings moves to 5 stars.

Started with the online version and saw an app was available- logged into MicrosoftBookings and the first thing I noticed is that, because I have my theme on my other account set to dark mode there is a clash in dark mode on MicrosoftBookings but no settings to change it - another is it won’t load my calendar or staff- I get an error every time, I’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled. I tried to go to the settings to report a problem/make a suggestion/use the help and all of those features are broken so I decided to write a review in hopes these bugs and features can be fixed. I’d love to use MicrosoftBookings!!
Potential to be great.

MicrosoftBookings has a lot of potential but it is lacking a lot. Aside from the constant app crashing and long period for updates, some features would be great. Notifications for appointment blocks/time off are annoying and should be allowed to set a continuous date. Also is there a link available to provide to customers who would like to book based off your available slots? It would also be great if you can include a text notification feature granted MicrosoftBookings download is free but requires a paid Microsoft license to utilize. Also, it’s 2018 and the developer is Microsoft, no way MicrosoftBookings for iPad is this terrible? Most companies use iPads for everyday work now. C’mon Microsoft, I have faith in you!

It’s a great app. It’s so easy to manage my appointments, check who is booking and call them straight from MicrosoftBookings . My problem is with the program itself rather than MicrosoftBookings . Bookings is not sending correct reminder times for appointments so my clients are ending up extremely confused. For example, they’ll book an appointment for 7pm using the website link but they’ll get a reminder saying their appointment is at 12am. Fix this and it’ll be 5 star!
When you open MicrosoftBookings for the very first time, there is a filter that excludes all users, so the calendar looks blank. I looked all over before noticing the tiny filter icon on top. I clicked on the user names on top. Nothing.
Very bad design to have everything invisible when you first use MicrosoftBookings . I hope they fix it for future users.
Love the convenience but…

Love that I can manage the bookings from my phone however the time zone does not match the time zone on my desktop. Cannot find anywhere on MicrosoftBookings to change the time zone.

Is excellent for scheduling services. The only thing that is a problem is that the search in unavailable. Before the last update the search function is disable. Is very difficult to search the customers in the calendar.

There’s definitely somethings I would change. It works great for simple bookings but for my business I wish you were able to just make designated blocks which dictated to the calendar. With out then you have a ton of setup.

OK, I am new to MicrosoftBookings. It appears to have the right stuff. I have added three different calendar links to my website. I wanted to keep my free workshops off the paid services calendar. It is working for my organization, Routes to Knowledge. I’m sorry to read the ability to accept payment will no longer be available.
I use Bookings for scheduling meetings with students. It’s quite helpful to have MicrosoftBookings grab all the information so that I have it on my phone and I can just quickly check when I am meeting with students. Prevents me from having to go to my laptop to check what has been scheduled.

Vikings is so easy to create and use. My clients can just schedule time with me for anything from a 15 minutes chat to a day long consultation session. I add my Bookings link to my email signature and my website. Rather the going back and forth on available dates, this helps clients just book it. JRP9206

I love MicrosoftBookings/feature. I place the link on my website, social media, even my email signature. Therefore my clients can just book their own appointments. It reminds them of our meeting & that’s up to me, how many days or hours in advance of their scheduled appointment. No more going back & forth asking when each other is available. I just send my “book now” link. You have to put what you’re doing on your calendar so no one will book time that you’re busy. It’s great. Saves time!
Used before the iPad app and love it better this way

It is extremely handy. I tried it on the phone, but it is a little too much information for the screen. iPad works far better. iPad with keyboard even better than that. It does have a learning curve just to set up Bookings and is even harder to get other employees to get into (my partner refuses to use it), but I can see how great it would be with everyone on board. It definitely helps with my own scheduling, especially as I integrate it with my Outlook calendar.
MicrosoftBookings is the best! It keeps me organized and does the work for me. It keeps my appointments with enough time in between each to get ready. I don’t have to be looking at my calendar to see when I can see anyone. I just direct them to my Bookings and that is it. Then, every morning I check who I have to work with and do it! I love it!
Adding customers from outlook

Adding customers from outlook should be seamless with one click. Now we have to enter the customer information manually.
When will bookings add texting/sms reminders feature? This would take MicrosoftBookings to the next level. Many would be willing to pay a premium for this feature.

I use MicrosoftBookings for my law practice and have been very pleased. It’s very user friendly and it’s great that it syncs to my outlook email. My virtual receptionists have no problem using the public link to help schedule meetings. Highly recommend!
