Not user friendly

Not only do the jobs take forever to load and to decline ones you don’t want to work but there is no way to decline or unconfirm a booking. I was confirmed for a booking without being contacted by the agency to reconfirm that I was still available. Unfortunately I had accepted another booking for those dates the day before and being a BA who applies for multitudes of jobs it’s not possible to immediately unapply for everything else whenever I get booked for an event. There was no way to decline the event on this app and write in a message explaining the situation. No direct contact info was listed for the booker nor is there a way to direct message them in PopBookings . The only way was three dots on the booking page that went to the chat for the event. Of course they didn’t see this message and when I finally found a direct email 2 days later the agency was unhappy with me and treated it like I cancelled on them when I was never available and tried to contact them the entire weekend. This is completely unfair and I’ll probably never get booked again with this company when I feel I did nothing wrong. All because this app doesn’t give an option to decline or cancel a booking and doesn’t have a way to easily get in direct contact with a booker. That way I could have immediately let them know. It’s all just very impersonal and not user friendly.

Horrible customer service

Can you even talk to a real person? Their “customer service” is an ai that only always you to respond with preselected options. If you issue isn’t one of the preselected options, tough luck. Does it at least along to you say that your issue wasn’t resolved & you’d like to talk to a real person? Nope. It ends the chat.
I’m using this platform for booking gigs with a single company & I'm frankly thinking about just not working with this company anymore so I don’t have to deal with this app. I constantly get recruit emails for companies I have no interest working with because they have nothing to do with what my work is. Is there an option to opt out of receiving these emails? Nope.

Beware

Agencies should just stop using this app. It’s very slow and a lot of times unresponsive, and the one time I was able to apply for jobs, AND GOT BOOKED for one of them, I NEVER ONCE RECEIVED ANY KIND OF NOTIFICATION about the booking. No email, no push notification, no nothing. I only found out about it when the agency that hired me text messaged me 10 days later after booking asking if I’m ever going to confirm. At that point I was already booked during the days, and I’d have to pay for expensive travel. This would have been avoidable if I received any notification the moment I got booked.

Beware.

Too glitchy, needs a fix

this app App is too glitchy now and needs to be updated without the bugs. There have been messages stuck in my app for over a year I still can’t access and it only shows me my bookings for half of a second until it disappears. Can’t confirm or view bookings that won’t show in PopBookings . Also a lot of these bookings are underpaid. Getting offered $28/hr for a job that should be at least $40/hr, and accepting bookings that lie about the pay and want to pay you less after.

Great concept, could be improved easily

Having to connect with each individual agency and fill out the same information again and again makes me question- why not just apply to the agencies directly? The payments section is inaccurate. I don’t know if that is bc the agencies I’ve used opted to use a payment system outside of this app but regardless, it hasn’t been useful for me. The calendar and “bookings” tabs are separate but essentially the same thing. It’s great in theory but the execution just isn’t there. The one star is only because I did book through it so... more money in my pocket but I did not see any pros as far user experience or design.

Constant Dysfunction

Took me weeks of persistently trying again and again to sign up because it kept freezing. I finally created an account and the sorting function never works right. I’ll select by state and search and every state comes up in the results. When I go back and correct the state, it’ll show me listings from only one agency in my state, then I go back and reset it again and select all agencies, when I return to the results, it’s showing jobs in some random state. It’s very frustrating. I try to avoid using it and it’s about to get deleted if they can’t fix it after two months already.

Beware!!!

This “platform” apparently will ONLY take responsibility to connect you with “the client” or multiple various agencies for Brand Ambassadors, and will easily and 100% of the time side with “Client.”!!!
If you work as a brand ambassador to do a liquor demo and the store manager refuses to have you do the demo because they were not inform of it, you might just truthfully submit your recap as it happened and the client will say that they want to backdraft payments from your bank account and this app will do just that for their clients… you will reach out to them to let them know that you drove over 30 mins each way to each gig and took photos and name of the manger and successfully submitted an incident report of how the client refused to have you do any demos in their store, but this app will ask you to submit a signed affidavit by said manager within 2 days (which happened weeks ago..!!) otherwise they will to proceed to withdraw money from your checking account!!
I have submitted several requests asking them to delete my profile but they refuse to do so!!
Don’t mess with this platform if you’re not looking to waste your time and have to deal with nonsense!! So illegal in so many ways!!

Constantly loading

A few things:
-whenever I have to check in to my events the check in doesn’t work because it says I’m not close to the location. (Usually it places me at least 20 miles away from the event)
- every time I try to connect with an agency, it won’t let me select anything or type in the field boxes
- I have to submit photos to my event managers after an event through the chat and half the time MAYBE one photo will upload. I’ve spent hours trying to submit 10 photos and then end up being reprimanded for only uploading one or two.
I’m at the point where I don’t like to work for agencies that use PopBookings because it is so unreliable and is a constant headache.

Sad Story

This ap rarely lets me log into my store and if I do a split demo it definitely doesn’t let me log into my second store.
I also can not clear any old dates of demos I have already done, if I want to view them I have to go through a backlog of dates to see the new dates. I have also confirmed dates and then had my employer ask me to confirm the dates - but, I have.
I had the same trouble when I first was introduced to this ap three years ago and it doesn’t seem like it’s gotten any better. I know my employer really wants to support your ap ..:/ I can’t say I feel the same. My thoughts is ; you might not have enough help to keep up with the bugs etc -but you really should put more time & $$ into your ap because it could be so smooth- so as much as I dislike leaving a 1 star review - your ap really drivesmecrazy.

Very frustrating and honestly, I wish my employer didn’t use this

Outdated - do not recommend

I have used PopBookings for over six years and it has always been a frustrating experience. The only reason I keep it is because unfortunately companies keep using it as a platform to book Brand Ambassadors and gigs alike. It is extremely outdated, there are always glitches and it is super slow to load whether you are on WiFi or not. I wish PopBookings developers would spend more time making it a user friendly experience, it seems like they never bother to test the consumer side of PopBookings because everyone I talk to about PopBookings in the industry agrees that it is not a great app to use. They also charge marketing agencies to use PopBookings , and then also take a % of your pay without you knowing when you book a gig through PopBookings . While PopBookings may be free to use, they are taking money out of your pockets each time you book an event on PopBookings . This is not disclosed information.

If it didn’t bug out frequently, I’d give 5 stars

It’s easy to use and fairly intuitive when it’s working. It bugs out often, sometimes not showing events my boss has assigned to me already. I have to delete and redownload at least a few times a year; more frequently, I have to refresh several times or log out and back in to see the latest events. I’ve been using it weekly as a brand ambassador for 3.5 years and it randomly gets more or less buggy over time. Some days it’ll be great and others it will be nearly non-functional.

Terrible update.

Before the update, PopBookings had some issues. However, the new update has many more. I have a disconnect between PopBookings and website—applying via email blasts don’t go thru, dates are listed differently. Unable to remove something from the job board, or change reply to postings, and have issues with my profile pop up every time I log into PopBookings . App also freezes quite a bit. The format of the new app is difficult and also doesn’t allow for “add to calendar”. Last version was much more user friendly!

Cannot use my app!

My app has been automatically updated and every time that I try to use it apple tells me I do not have the latest version and brings me to PopBookings page without an option to update and only the option to open PopBookings . Then the cycle repeats and I cannot respond to messages, apply for or view jobs, check in- etc. I also can not locate the function that used to allow you to add booked jobs to your calendar; that was one of the most useful features!

So Buggy

I rated three stars instead of one or two stars because SOMETIMES it works. I have clients who use PopBookings and have requested I use it too. It crashes ALL THE TIME. I can’t even log in to the desk top version on my Mac.

-If PopBookings shows several job posts and I apply for one job, all the other job posts disappear.
-If a client sends me a message on the job board it is impossible to respond: my responses won’t send.
-When I try to use it to check in to a job or check out, about half of the time, I can’t do either.

At the time of this review, I have just deleted PopBookings and am reinstalling it hoping that I will be able to respond to the email alert I received from a client. PopBookings , once again, just crashes every time I open it.

The desktop version won’t even let me sign in. Fingers crossed this most recent re-install will allow me to respond to a client regarding upcoming work.

Glitchy

For weeks I couldn’t even log into my account without a pop up. Then when I completed my account for the longest is said 98% instead of 100% keeping me from being able to be booked for jobs because my “profile was incomplete” Finally contacted customer service and they had to fix it from their end. I asked friends of mine how it’s been for them and they have had some of the same issues. Once your profile is 100% it’s not bad(yet) but It shouldn’t have taken so long just to get set up.

The app does help

At this point PopBookings before I wasn’t getting a single bit of work I wasn’t getting nothing now I’ve gotten about two gigs in one month and getting more. They’re all not in New York City but they’re in New York State which is good White Plains I took a trip to Jersey not bad just make sure PopBookings is getting you jobs that you can travel to close to you in New York or wherever you are but if you’re driving and you’re grinding PopBookings is for you the jobs that they have you can do you wanna make some extra cash I say, take it.. you don’t want any extra cash you want to just cruise by and use this for basic income don’t do that this is only for gigs that are here now and going

So many amazing clients to work with! This gem is a must have ! It has helped me grow for over ten years! I have learned how business works and market any product or services! I’m grateful for hands on experience , as I learn what God wants for my life! PopBookings will connect you with any agencies! Literally so many it’s poppin off like popcorn baby!

Big problem with the app can’t confirm my booking

I love PopBookings been using it for quite some time now but for some reason now the I have a new iPhone 14 PopBookings not allowing me to confirm my booking this is a big problem because if can confirm my booking with the client I won’t be able be booked ever again because it looks like I don’t want the job .. At this very moment I been using my iPhone ES with my personal hotspot from iPhone 14 to confirm my booking I need you guys to fix As soon as you can possibly can Note: PopBookings doesn’t work with new IOS 17.1.1 Update

Lifesaver for demo and promo world!

My experience with this app has been amazing! Communication is very smooth through PopBookings and finding events my area is very easy and straightforward. I love how easy it is to apply for events directly from my phone. This makes it so much easier not having to do everything from my computer!

Helpful and constantly improving

I'm using PopBookings ince one year ago, I've seen a lot of improvements (ex. check-in out of chat). There is something call "recruit mode" that is a possibility to apply to job of agencies that you are not part of, is great because you have more possibilities to find a job, at the beggining it was really confused, I din't know why I was seeing those jobs and how it was sorting jobs (recruits, my agency, invited...). Anyway, once you learn how recruit works (love to get paid directly to my bank account in 2-3 days), is very useful, I really hope one day I could see a demo or tutorial to use all the features in PopBookings because right now I'm still cofused with job boards jobs, but I'm pretty sure PopBookings is helpful and is working for me
