I downloaded FlyingCalmly because I do have a fear of flying and particularly turbulence. In reading their terms of use it says "do not use FlyingCalmly if you have a fear of flying" So let me get this straight, an app called "flying calmly" says this? Defeats the purpose doesn't it? Before reading that I also purchased all of the bells and whistles of FlyingCalmly and unfortunately it isn't very informative in terms of the censors. There is nothing explaining what you are looking at so don't bother with that upgrade. Also not easy to navigate. App needs some work.

I think that the one thing that the developers don’t take into consideration is the route the crew might take.

When you enter your flight info, it basically gives you a forecast for a flight that’s in a straight line (which all flights never travel in) and an unknown altitude.

I’ve had FlyingCalmly for a while, it can be a hit or miss in my opinion, this morning I took a flight from the Dominican Republic to New York, FlyingCalmly showed no turbulence.

When I get on the flight, the captain comes on and warns of some turbulence over Turks and Caicos, so exactly as the captain stated, turbulence started over the Turks for about 45 minutes of non-stop chop.

So like I said before, it can be a hit or miss because I’ve been on flights where FlyingCalmly shows turbulence and then there isn’t any, or it shows turbulence and there is.

I can probably say that FlyingCalmly have an accuracy rate of about 70% or so, it kinda helps but like I said before, it needs to take other things into consideration, I know the developers are not going to get every flight plan in the world, but it would help it there was any other way of having more accuracy.

FlyingCalmly is useful for those that have a fear of flying or dislike turbulence. It helps an individual prepare for turbulence in advance. Be mindful that if you are on one of the first flights for the day, this information can be more inaccurate. Had a first flight out that FlyingCalmly signified we would experience a lot of turbulence throughout the entire flight but we only experienced small pockets.

I really like FlyingCalmly. It is spot on and has really helped me come a long way from being anxious about flying. The only thing I noticed is that when I put in my flight, even when it’s almost time for my flight, there isn’t any information available. Is there a glitch?

I love FlyingCalmly. As someone with flight anxiety- I find it helpful to see what my flight may look like beforehand and plan accordingly.

Flying is very hard for me. I get serious anxious and panic attacks. Flight aware helps me know when turbulence is normal and expected and helps me combat my intrusive thoughts. I love that it works in airplane mode

I have loved FlyingCalmly for years! I am a professional travel journalist with severe flight anxiety (go figure). But I figured out some of it can be alleviated by understanding turbulence patterns, and FlyingCalmly is hands down the best I’ve found.

Knowing weather conditions high in the sky is another art in itself! It calms me down when I learn more than just the weather, but the conditions when up in the air! Great app!

If only I could get text updates directly to my phone if the weather changes for an up coming flight.

I am not a huge fan of flying, but do it quite a bit. FlyingCalmly has been eerily accurate and I find it helps me to see beyond the turbulence into relaxing through the flight.
Obviously, awareness and information are a great power to have, and FlyingCalmly delivers.

I am a nervous flyer and hate turbulence. FlyingCalmly has always been spot on and helps me prepare ahead of time emotionally and for the flight. For example, If it looks like it will be bumpy and there may not have service, I pack extra snacks. I use FlyingCalmly now every time I fly.

FlyingCalmly is wonderful for knowing what to expect on a flight. The predictions aren’t 100% accurate, but they’re based on the best information available to science. Even knowing that jolts can happen unexpectedly, being prepared for when they’re likely to happen and knowing how long they’re likely to last is extremely helpful. Many thanks to FlyingCalmly developer for making this and improving it over the years.

Used to be great. Every flight # I enter now receives the same message to save the flight number and when the info is available I’ll receive a notification. Leaving tips doesn’t seem to make a difference.

I am a frequent flier who deals with fear of flying. Sometimes I’m totally calm….sometimes I just can’t shake the anxiety. What I appreciate more than anything is being to anticipate the bumps. FlyingCalmly is just terrific. It’s got a very clean and intuitive interface, and it’s laser-accurate in my “field testing” so far. This is the one.

I had a problem with FlyingCalmly which turned out to be of my own doing and techno ignorance. After some email exchanges , carlos pinpointed the problem and helped me correct it. But the customer service and quick response that I received is really unique in my experience. If all companies could act this way !

This is not the most detailed app, but it’s quick and easy and has been 90% on the mark every flight I’m on. We lost flight time at the bottom of the graph on one of the last updates - would be nice to get that back to change from 4 to 5 stars, but over all great app!

I’ve been using FlyingCalmly for a couple years due to my fear of turbulence during a flight. Though it doesn’t eliminate my fear it does prepare me mentally for the flight I’m about to take. Not to mention when there is little to no turbulence forecasted it does help put my mind at ease a bit. In terms of accuracy, I believe it’s been pretty spot on for me when it comes to whether or not I’m in for a bumpy ride.

FlyingCalmly has been like an answer to my prayers! It helps me so much to know what to expect going into my flight. Even if some turbulence is predicted, I feel better with a little less uncertainty. I’ve also learned that I can handle a lot of the “moderate” and “heavy” turbulence, which has been a huge confidence boost. FlyingCalmly is a must-have for the anxious flyer!

I never considered myself having control issues, until I read that control issues are sometimes the underlying foundation of flight phobias. FlyingCalmly has been spot on in terms of most turbulence timeframes during flights, which gives me an ever so small yet encouraging bit of control back while flying. Lol maybe I should simply go get my pilot license and conquer my fears.

I am terrified of flying and FlyingCalmly truly helped me calm down and breathe through my panic. I felt very confident using it when I needed to. The information is great and the exercise he teaches you really helped me focus and feel better.
