I absolutely LOVED the old version of this app, I used it everyday. I started using this app as a total beginner and it helped me progress to intermediate level. The classes were really beginner friendly, you could preview the poses, had a countdown of how long the pose was being held, it was relaxing and easy to follow. The class titles were easy to tell what the class was going to focus on. The instructor was easy to follow and had nice, calming voice. I loved that there was very little talking. I loved the simplicity of it. The new version is none of that. The class names are stupid and you can’t tell what the class is about because they are things like “better than coffee.” Because of the angle of the camera, you can’t tell what the position is fully supposed to look like, which could cause injury. With the old version, I was doing intermediate classes. I tried a couple of the new beginners classes and it was very difficult for me, the new beginners classes are definitely not for beginners. I don’t know why the developers decided to ruin a good thing. They were already the best reviewed app out there and rightfully so. They won’t be anymore after this update. I will be canceling my subscription and finding another app.

I’ve had this app for quite a bit now, I paid for premium ages ago and up until recently it was worth it. They released a large update with new classes and instructors which was nice but got rid of classes I liked and while annoying at first, I got over it. That’s not the biggest issue this now has. Mind you premium was/is $50, which I agreed to pay for the old version of the app. This new version you’re lucky if you make it though half a class without a glitch or the whole app just crashing. I’ve reached out to the makers and was told just to restart the app, which does nothing. It’s incredibly hard to focus and enjoy a yoga class when I have to stop and attempt to fix the buggy new update every few minutes. I would say 9 times out of 10 I have to spend a good 20 minutes restarting a class to see if I can get it to play past where it froze the previous time. I’ve tried using a different device. I’ve tried on and off the WiFi. There is just no fixing it and no help from creators of the app. So sad because this was one of my favorite yoga apps and now I’m feeling like I need to find a new one after paying so much for this. PLEASE consider working out the bugs of this new update and not just ignoring the issue after you’ve gotten money from people!

I’ve done yoga for a long time, and I thought I’d give this app a try since in-person classes are closed (as they should be) due to the pandemic. I tried one of the short, free beginner classes, and I’m pretty disappointed. There were inadequate audio cues, which are especially important considering I’m using my phone so visual cues aren’t as easy to come by.
Speaking of visual cues, the model in the video did the most advanced version of each pose, and no modification options were given. If a true beginner were to watch this video, injury would be likely unless they are young, healthy and already pretty physically fit.
Yes, of course there are limitations to offering yoga classes in this format, and I’m sure the app developers have some kind of disclaimer somewhere in the app saying to use this at your own risk, etc etc, but in my opinion it really doesn’t absolve them of the responsibility of doing a better job to prevent injury. Even yoga DVDs that were produced 10-20 years ago did a better job! I don’t recommend this app.
