What good is an app if it does nothing?

I have a Cube+ I haven’t used in a while and find myself wondering why I bought it. So, I put the newest version of PolaroidCube on my phone and had to update the Cube’s firmware.

Seems like a majority of the time, PolaroidCube will not take a still photo.

What I have seen so far:

I tried multiple times to take a still photo with PolaroidCube . I click the button on PolaroidCube and it would beep as if it took one, but then nothing would appear on the screen. No photo was taken. I must have tried 20 times to take a photo of a mural and none of them took.

Without PolaroidCube , I can’t take a photo at all.

When I go into the picture gallery of PolaroidCube , only the most recent photo appears. No other photos. If I want to see any other, I have to take the card out of the camera and open it in my computer.

Sometimes, PolaroidCube is stuck on motion picture form. There is no option to change modes. I have to go into the picture gallery, open a photo, and pray I can change modes this way.

It’s all these issues with PolaroidCube now that reminded me why I quit using the camera then. The phone app is just random. It should be a red snapper, but I get a box of nothing most of the time.

Don’t Waste Your Money On A Cube

I’ve had my cube for 5 years and with the exception of the first 6 months, I seem to try to connect for hours via PolaroidCube . It is beyond frustrating that they haven’t fixed the connection issues yet. I don’t even want to give it away bc it’s not worth the headaches someone else will have trying to connect to the cube like the majority of the Cube owners. I recommend to anyone wanting to get a cube, think twice and pay the extra $ for a GoPro. You would think after so many years of customer complaints Polaroid would at least attempt to update PolaroidCube . Last update was over 1 year ago.

even worse

I haven’t tried using my cube+ on an iPhone since PolaroidCube refused to show a preview on my iPhone 7+ years ago. I have a 12 Pro Max now and now PolaroidCube is refusing to connect to the camera even though my iPhone is connected to cube’s WiFi. Also tried it on my iPad Pro and get the same results. The Cube+ stopped taking properly exposed photos years ago making the only way to take properly exposed photos with it possible being via connection to PolaroidCube. Which no longer connects. I know features on old tech dwindle over time but sheesh. I guess the Polaroid name doesn’t speak much about long term support.

Library

PolaroidCube does have a library, for those who don’t know how to look it up when you’re in the regular screen or to record there is a thin green line at the top of the screen, when you touch it, it reveals your library there. Just posted this for a review that was left of someone that was confused or didn’t know how to access all the files at once. Good luck I hope this helped. 😉

Needs a library

When talking video or photo, and you want to see what you recorded you can only see the last photo/video. It should have a library so you don’t have to delete the photos/video to see the other things on your sd card when your on the go

Works well for iPad 8

Downloading PolaroidCube and connecting WiFi to from cube to iPad was under two minutes.
I attached my Polaroid cube’s WiFi to the iPad. Then I opened PolaroidCube . It connected easily.

You can do live feed, and change the picture settings. You can later send photos through text or email.

Live feed not working/Solved the problem

After much frustration and total silence from the developers of PolaroidCube here’s what worked for me: After you connect via wifi go to the wi-fi settings and click the name of your camera (“cube+” in my case) to access the wi-fi configurations , copy your router number and scroll down to “configure DNS”, click to access the configurations, click “manual” and paste your router number and that did the trick for me. Good luck everyone and thank you SUPPORTING TEAM for ignoring our complaints!!!!

What happened?!?

This used to work well. Now there’s no preview?!? It crashes! It doesn’t show connected in PolaroidCube ?!? But it’s linked to the phone and the camera shows it’s on and casting a signal?!? And you can’t even reset PolaroidCube to re sync!?!! WTH?!! It’s nice you can go live on fb but Who cares if I can’t preview what I’m doing how it’s positioned and if it doesn’t stay connected!! Sooo not happy is a gross understatement!! Polaroid you are to well known for this kind of shoddy workmanship. Fix this. I have two. Otherwise this was such a waste of money!!

They don’t fix the app problem for long

I’ve been experiencing with PolaroidCube that is not showing the live image on the screen until the photo is shot for a half year already. I also contacted their tech support team if the could fix and developed PolaroidCube , but no one seems going to contact me back for their move or updates. I feel like I wasted my money and time having this. Sure thing I’ll consider to get another action camera which could work better than cube.

Too buggy to use consistently

PolaroidCube lost the connection to the camera after each recording session. The only way I could find to get around it was to delete then reinstall PolaroidCube . Completely impractical for on-the-go use. Polaroid support was unable/willing to help. In fact I'm still waiting for a promised callback from them. So, I've returned the camera and accessories, and deleted PolaroidCube again. This time for good. Bye.

Junk!

Bought the camera, installed PolaroidCube ... it took about 10 tries to get the camera to update. I can not see any footage on my screen in live time. Screen stays black. Only way to know to know what I’m shooting is to look in library after I already shot it...
Update: I uninstalled PolaroidCube and reinstalled PolaroidCube and I still get a black screen my iPad Pro AND my iPhone... what a waste. How can you sell something that doesn’t work?!

No longer works

Does not connect through IOS 13 and Polaroid is no longer updating PolaroidCube for future app use. The cube still works but all files must be uploaded through your computer. No more live streaming.

By

0 stars since iOS 13 update

This camera was “meh” at best before the iOS 13 update, now the cube+ holds the same functionality and value as a paper weight, but hey, atleast this paper weight has a magnet! The Cube+ will no longer connect via PolaroidCube even when successfully connected to your phone’s WiFi. Save your money for a better product such as GoPro.

June 7th, 2020 (STILL QUARANTINING)

I was so excited when I received this as a gift! Setup and WiFi connection was easy... until it came to actually opening the application. Camera isn’t working, and I didn’t even have any green buttons that people are speaking of; just the camera information on top of screen. Now what do I do with it ?...

By

Facebook Live?

I purchased this under the impression that I would be able to use it to use Facebook Live but it appears the “live streaming” is only live to my phone. When I select the Facebook button on PolaroidCube , I’m told PolaroidCube is in beta mode and I don’t have permission to use it.

App Can’t Connect

Even though the Wifi connects, PolaroidCube cannot connect to the Cube + The other option is to use the SD card with a persona computer, which defeats the use of many photoediting apps, since uploading photos to the computer and downloading them back to a phone or digital tablet.

Laggy! Update please!

It’s so so laggy on my iPhone x 12.1.4! the format is also not correct and it takes along time to load. I wanted to get back into using my cube but it seems impossible because PolaroidCube isn’t working so well. An update would be fantastic.

Doesnt like iPhone X

PolaroidCube doesn’t work well with iPhone X, everything shrinks into the screen and overlaps so you can’t see what you are pressing. Probably I wouldn’t ever been interested in Polaroid cube if I knew PolaroidCube wasn’t compatible with iPhone X. App is 1 yr old... no interest in updating it?? Looks like there company itself has no love for its own product.

No compatibility with video viewing while phone and cube are linked

Just a drag. Camera still works fine. But not worth the amount people are paying for the WiFi linking

Very nice

Love PolaroidCube , not the most advanced but it does its job well, oh and please get rid of that Facebook link in there or make it small.

No preview on my iPhone 7 Plus

On my iPhone 7 Plus running 11.4.1 I saw no preview even after disconnecting and reconnecting, and even deleting and reinstalling PolaroidCube . Preview shows up intermittently on my iPad Pro 12.9” also running 11.4.1. However, the preview shows up consistently on my semi-ancient iPhone 5s, my Droid Turbo, and my Kindle Fire 7.

Otherwise, PolaroidCube seems to work fine on iOS. Allows controlling of the Cube+ resolution, camera mode and more. It’s just that the live preview is one of the big points of having a wifi cam.

UPDATE: I updated all of my devices to iOS 12 and the issue persists. :( Please fix! This is a big deal as I can't live stream from my 7+ and it's my only device with a wireless data plan! (AKA the wifi features are of little use to me without a video preview.)

Doesn’t work with iOS 13.1

The live option doesn’t work with the new update anymore. This has been a problem for iOS users for what looks to be about a year now.... now you will need to take the SIM card and put it into a computer to get the footage. Very disappointing.
