AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

Booked a whole house for a few nights to celebrate a graduation. I don’t live in Louisiana but I am originally from there so I still have a LA state ID and phone number. Booked through AirBnb and was confirmed. One hour before I was supposed to check in the company says that due to a new policy implemented the same day I would need to pay a security deposit to them which was not listed on their Airbnb listing and is also against Airbnb’s policy. Turns out the deposit they wanted was $500 which is outrageous especially one hour before I was supposed to check in. I asked the customer service rep if there was anyway to avoid it and was told if I didn’t want to pay it I could just cancel the reservation all together. Extremely rude to tell someone cancel when traveling for a deposit that was not disclosed anywhere in writing ONE HOUR BEFORE CHECK IN. I reluctantly paid the $500 deposit which I was told would be refunded 48hrs after check-in. The actual property was decent but not perfect and had some imperfections which I documented on video just to be safe. When we finally checked out....THEY DID NOT RETURN MY $500 DEPOSIT! I called the customer service and was told they would need to speak to a manager and that it should be ok and to just wait. Subsequent calls I have made have been unanswered. I had to call both the BBB and AirBnb to try to get my money back. NEVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

Creekside Rv less HOSTEEVA would be perfect

We arrived after midnight. We were assigned Lot 17, but someone was already there. We attempted to reach this app, but with no success. An owner of one of the lots saw our confusion and came out to us and asked if we booked using this app. They explained that this is a regular occurrence and suggested we pull in to an empty lot with the this app sign since it would have full hookup for us. After we did this, I contacted this app again pleading with them to make sure we would not be staying at a lot that someone else was assigned to and have to move. We went to lot 50 and I told them this. After 2 am someone from this app contacted us and said they show were are assigned to Lot 17. I told them everything all over and they told me to just stay at Lot 50. When I initially booked this, I was told checkout was 12 noon. When they sent confirmation for Lot 50, they said our checkout time was 10 am. I have never stayed anywhere with such an early checkout. The grounds are beautiful and it’s close to so many things with just a short drive. The only problem I have is with the booking. In the future I will contact owners who rent spaces and try to make reservations through them and I will NEVER use this app again. There were no apologies for this and no special commendation for this unnecessary stress.

Remodeled - poorly

The rooms were ok. The beds were very comfortable, but both were queens. Not a king as advertised. The towels and hot water were great. Having kitchen things and a fridge with water and ice was great. Have a TV and place to sit with friends great. But, the TV is antenna only, no cable. The seating has mismatched cushions. No biggie but a sign of they just don’t care. The appliances were scratch and dent sale items. The island is not an island. No overhang or place to put your legs in front of the bar stools. And the granite on it was meant for a counter with a wall along the one edge. Just looks like they used what they had or could find. The wood work and trim and a door didn’t fit so just cut off and installed. In the bathroom the counter space in inches can be counted on one hand. The tiniest vanity I’ve ever seen. In front one step is mismatched height so we watched several people trip like us the first time and try to regain balance. The worst though is hearing the upstairs guests return hours after you’re asleep and fuss at each other about losing their ID on bourbon st. Or whatever. The walls are so thin. Felt like we were taking a shower with them it was so close and loud. And the floor is not level. Several hills and valleys. I would not recommend for the price. Or maybe that’s typical construction in NOLA.

Some good, some bad

Stayed there for Labor Day weekend. First the positive:
Great location near the St Charles streetcar line. Renovation is pretty. Nice big couch fit all 8 of us. The unit is clean.
Areas for improvement: first off, the walls and ceiling were incredibly thin. We felt like our neighbors were in the unit with us, and that is no exaggeration. You could hear everything— walking, conversations, etc. There are finishes which need completing. One upstairs bedroom had several electrical outlets, but none of them actually worked. There was also no dresser in that room. The room we were in had a dresser by no closet. No bedside tables, no lamps. A luxury unit should have these things. The refrigerator was dripping water on the floor, which we had to keep drying up. The TV broadcast no stations I’ve actually heard of. No ESPN, no HGTV, no Fox News, CNN, Discovery. I couldn’t even find local affiliate news, but I’m not sure about those. The posting does not specify that there is no designated parking. There is free parking on the street by the unit. I received a parking ticket for being too close to the intersection, and the people in the adjacent unit had their car towed for the same reason. We had a great weekend and didn’t let any of it bother us, but what I have shared above, we would have like to have known.

NYE 2019 Stay in Nola

The stay was decent and place was pretty. I originally was very excited to book. However, the owner cancelled my reservation citing that listed the price wrong. There’s was no phone call, only an email to which almost looked over. I was told the refund would take seven days to come through and that they could not assist further. With no place to stay and forty eight hours before my vacation, I reluctantly rebooked for a MUCH higher price. They did comp some money but it was nothing in comparison to the stress of having to rebook. If these things occur in the future I would suggest directly contacting the guest via phone.
There are some needed repairs (the tile on the floor is coming up)almost fell down the steps. There were also roaches in the shive making cooking my meal impossible. The downstairs was not heated and was very cold. We were provided two small heaters to assist with this. The neighbors were extremely rowdy and rude during quiet hours. We were told that no parties or loud behavior would occur after 9:00 pm. I awoke at 4:00 A.M. to constant screaming and loud music making it impossible for me to go back to sleep. However, the place is close by everything which was great!

California Bldg New Orleans

Check in was very easy. Space appeared to be clean and updated. Master bedroom was extremely hot. Turned air down and went for dinner. When we got home and ready for bed could not sleep in master bed it was broke. Mattress was falling through bed frame. Next morning while looking at apt. Noticed the vinyl floor was peeling up everywhere. Outlet was hanging off of the island. Good thing my children are old enough to know not to touch it. Went to make breakfast and the handle is falling off the skillet. Tried to sleep the next night and it is very loud. Need to put curtains on the windows to block some of the noise. Heard nothing but sirens all night every night. Last night there spent over an hour on the phone with customer service at 10pm because the smoke detector was beeping every 2-3 minutes because the battery was dead. Needless to say customer service did nothing. My husband 3 blocks to Walgreens and bought a 9volt battery so we could sleep. All of this could have been prevented if simple maintenance was done!! Thanks for the ruined vacation! Will NEVER use this company again and will be sure let everyone know I talk to to not use it either!!!

It was ok... but not what I expected

Check in was easy, The room was a decent size, upon arrival it wasn’t as clean as it should have been. Pasta sauce still on the fridge. There is no daily cleaning and no mop so it was hard to keep the place as tidy as I would have hoped. The day before we checked out someone was parked in our spot. I chatted with this app staff who gave me a parking spot that wasn’t even in the garage. When I called the woman on the phone was very rude and told me “the policy changed as of today and parking cost are starting at $18 per night”. And there was nothing she could do about it. I was not having it and argued with her. She then said she would look at Expedia website (whom I booked through) to see if the policy had been updated she then came back on the phone and said since it was still showing as free parking on the website she “would make an exception” what poor customer service. I literally waited over 30 mins for a new assignment. Perhaps if the customer service from her wouldn’t have been so bad, this place would have gotten a few more stars.

Fort Lauderdale

this app was very quick to respond. There was coffee available. The room was musty upon arrival which was not very welcoming. There was no decor on the walls which made it not so homey. The second bedroom had no tv and only a small nightstand, so there was nowhere to put clothes except in the floor. The balcony only had two chairs, yet it was a two bedroom condo making it very likely there will be 4 people staying. The small bathroom had no where to put shampoo in the shower, so we had to put it on the floor. There were no kitchen towels. We probably should have requested those, but didn’t. We had to request a cookie sheet because there was nothing that could be used in the oven and we requested a can opener. Both of those items were delivered very quickly. There were only enough towels and washcloths for 1 day of bathing so we had to do laundry every day. All in all the condo was clean, but somethings could be done to make the stay nicer.

Hosteeva downtown San Diego

Fairly clean, nice to have a fridge and microwave. Bed is super firm and uncomfortable in my opinion. The barn door is cute but it’s hard to keep it closed. Nice walking area however the “free parking” should be listed as “extremely limited free street parking that you have to switch every night due to street sweeping” we often had to park a couple blocks away but if you don’t plan on having a car then the area is great, tons of restaurants and bars nearby. We thought the room was very clean until we folded up the couch and realized no one had swept under there in awhile. Also the address we got was misleading... I think it was correct but you go through a door that has a different address written on it which was confusing, we were walking around the building trying to open nonexistent doors for a couple minutes. For the price, the value is there.

Merchant Loft 504

We stayed in the beautiful 504 1 bedroom apartment. It was very modern. All the appliances you need for a home away from home stay! Coffee with sugar and cream. Pots and pans, cups plates, full sized fridge, dishwasher. Large tv in living room, sofa that opens to a bed, with an extra slide out bed, so you can easily fit 3 kids just on the sofa. The bed was very comfortable with a large closet! The bathroom was HUGE and stocked with soap & shampoos! There is a terrace on the 7th floor to sip drinks or watch the morning skyline. There is also the designated smoking area up there. I’m a travel agent and I travel all over the world. I didn’t receive any discounts for this review. Also, the location is great for walking to Canal Street, Bourbon Street, the Riverfront and the French Quarter! $200 deposit and $75 cleaning fee.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed.

Was so excited to rent this place only to be harassed all night with unnecessary complaints. First is was music which we turned off then it was sounds of furniture moving. Well we have to move the chairs to sit at the dining room table. Then we were told we couldn’t watch tv after 9pm. I understand about no noise after 9 but I felt like I had to tiptoe around the place because the last complaint was loud walking with a threat to be thrown out by police. I paid $2100 for 2 nights and would have felt more welcome at motel 6. I didn’t even stay my second day. I checked out as soon as I woke up. Especially because I couldn’t turn the tv on until 8 am. They can keep the money. I am soooo upset. What I really want to say can’t be said. The furniture was dirty and chairs peeling horribly. My husband has bedbug bites after lying on the couch. The dresser is damaged significantly. I’m just outdone.

Great location

Great place to stay if you are here for a good time and want to stay in the center of everything. You can bring your own alcohol and store leftovers in the fridge. If you are looking to sleep and rest, go stay at the Lowe’s Hotel around the corner they might be more your style. We will stay again since this has so many great amenities-the negatives can be overlooked.

-Rooftop usage (great views)
-Window that opens
-Secure entrance
-No Keys needed door locks
-Large bathtub
-Constant contact with management if needed and fast response
-Feels newly renovated and has a nice flow

Cons-
-Uncomfortable furniture (the sofa is a futon that feels like a brick bench, the bed feels like a large infant mattress with no cushion)
-The people upstairs sound like a herd of elephants trampling people (might just have been our neighbors for the night)
-I love the street sounds and they don’t keep us awake but for most people that would be a con
-No designated parking area, although there is parking nearby when you are lugging food, drinks, clothes and camera gear it’s a long walk

Huge space

I got more than I expected which was wonderful. A fully functional kitchen, dining room and living room for a great reasonable price. I stayed right next to the working out room which again was very nice. The methods of communication was mostly through text messaging and links. The only issue I had was the location was very difficult I assumed I was looking for a huge hotel sign but it was a building and the address given was a main front street location that was not the real entrance. Much confusion there and caused frustration for me because the second address given led me right in front of building. Other than this everything was very pleasant

Unbelievable Beware

Received this picture in a text saying that I would be charged 300 because the shower door was broken and loose. I informed them that we didn’t leave this unit damaged in anyway and asked several times that my daughter be allowed to inspect the unit on our behalf. I was told that the manager was not on site and that maintenance would be going to the unit tomorrow. I questioned whether anyone had entered the unit after we left and was given two separate responses. First time was that the manager entered with the cleaning crew and saw the broken door. Next time I called I was told that the crew called the manager after they entered. After the 3rd call, i was told that I would not be charged as the door came off the hinges. I felt like I was being scammed especially since we were not going to be able to see the so called damage we caused. LESSON LEARNED: take pictures before you leave.

Loved it!!!

Very good location! Enjoyed this place. Very convenient and short Lift/Uber ride to where ever you want to go. The unit could have been a little cleaner when we arrived. When we arrived had a smoke smell. The a/c and fan lighting controls were complicated to set. Fan light came on in middle of night (3am) each night of our stay, wasn’t sure how to fix that. Plenty of room for our family of 4. Very safe environment! Walking distance to great restaurants, Ice cream shop (a must to treat yourself) and more. Definitely would stay here again!

Orange Beach- Summerhouse

Upset! Got to location without any knowledge of how to check in until I finally got a hold of someone via chat for this app. Process took way too long, as we were tired and ready to check in! Once in, unit was sub par, little hot water in bathrooms, cabinet under kitchen sink was literally hanging on one screw hinge and there were missing lightbulbs. Contacted this app to let them know about lightbulbs. Also asked for late check out due to stress and issues with no help. We will not be using them again. Was NOT relaxing and it’s the first time I’ve been to the beach when I actually couldn’t wait to get home. Only positive was the view was amazing and the master bedroom bed was comfortable. Security guy felt sorry for us upon check in and was very very nice but not affiliated with this app. Never again!

San Diego...

I commend this app for finding a use for some poorly designed Micro-Apartments in downtown San Diego.
The location was good but that’s about the only positive thing I have to say.
Check in was a pain since the location was advertised with “free parking” which really meant “street parking” - an important distinction in a downtown of a big city. Our confirmation email showed the address as “435” but once we arrived, we eventually learned that the apartment was in another location. This is pretty basic information that you should ensure is correct in your confirmation email.
The room itself was not that clean - there were hairs stuck to the shower walls from the last tenants, and most of the provided amenities were already half used. It’s a hard pass from me.

Very mediocre

When we arrived, the condo was not very clean. The shower still had hair in the drain, the beds had small hairs in them, and there were dust bunnies throughout the condo. And, we did not receive a card to access the pool and workout facilities. At one point, we ran out of towels and toilet paper and had to request more which took a while. Thankfully, we ran into the man in charge of our condo in the elevator and got his card. It would have been nice to know ahead of time his name and contact info specifically instead of the desk’s number. The directions for parking could have been WAY more specific since we had no idea where to park and no one at the condo helped us.

Studio 434 room #306

The place is very nice. My first time ever staying in San Diego or a BnB! Our room was 306 with a window facing the Main Street. Nothing bad to say about the room. Had everything you need for a home away from home. Even had Netflix on the TV. Very cute space.

However there are lots of homeless people roaming the streets. We were woken up quite a few times by a man screaming at himself, at 6am. Also be prepared to walk because the complex has no parking so you need to park on the street somewhere. Was very worried about our car all night.

Great place to stay!!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were so much better than I anticipated. The only reason I didn’t rate 5
Stars was because of the horrible condition of the street to access the building ( the city must do better)and the hot water didn’t get very hot but I would still book again. Have already sent pictures to my family that were not able to come so that we can plan a trip.
Everyone was very helpful and very easy to work with. Thanks for providing such great service!!!

We stayed at Crystal Shores Condos at 931 W. Beach Blvd. in Gulf Shores Al., from Monday Aug. 22, to Thurs., Aug. 25. We liked the location, and we generally liked the stay. But, there were issues that HOSTEEVA did not directly address. First of all, we arrived at the appointed time. 3:00 p.m. and immediately noticed that the cleaning that had been done was insufficient. There was food particles in the microwave, and the conventional oven. There was dried tomato on the floor under the dishwasher. There was sand caked on the dresser in the bedroom, hair on the towels, and the coffee table looked like it hadn't been wiped off in months. The cleaning charge was $402, even more than the 3 night stay we had booked. I called, and after some tap dancing by the Hosteeva people, a woman arrived to clean again. After she left, we realized she hadn't cleaned the dining table. My wife cleaned it and it was filthy! Additionally, when we took the sheets off the bed to wash, (we weren't leaving anything to chance), we noticed that the mattress on the King sized bed in the master bedroom had large sunken that more resembled the grand canyon than a bed. We had to pad the gouges with towels to make it sleep-friendly. Then, when my wife was in the shower, she noticed the tub filling. The stopper was open, but it was clogged with so much gunk, even the plunger couldn't clear it. Luckily there was another tub. It worked fine. During all this, the Hosteeva people were doing the typical tap dance to avoid our concerns, and put us off by saying, "The people that handle this kind of thing are not here today, they will call you tomorrow. Tomorrow being Tuesday. They called me on Thursday, three and a half hours after our check out, and mid way into my drive back home. It went to voice mail...I was driving after all. When we got home that evening, we got a text. Asking us to rate our stay. I said 2. They made the usual blah, blah, blah, then said "FYI, we are going to leave you 5-star review." I was livid. I know this is long, so I will end with this...These people advertise bargain accommodations at some nice condos, and they are not too bad. However, their customer service is rotten! Every person I talked to, which was at least 5, was a foreigner, and each time it was a tap dance, runaround, "we don't handle that department", "someone will call you", and they never did, until we were on our way home. I will be touching base with the Air BnB people that had this place on their site.

I prepaid reservations in Hollywood, Florida 2020 and unfortunately, we were hit by hurricane. They agreed to 6 mos extended but then we were hit with the pandemic. I have written text messages that they would give no expiration date. I tried to use my credits today and they stated it expired! I am livid and the supervisor wouldn't even get on the phone with me! Its a scam and will never use them again!
