I like the idea but missing key helpful features

I like Rally as recently where I work we have a challenge for steps etc. I really love Rally and I like the idea but it’s lacking in reallly important features and functions that make this very unrealistic. It’s a nice idea and a great start but entering into each section meant to help has a check in time and reminders as well as recording results and making notes or journals and diaries...none of which are seamlessly integrated into Rally to open from that category and use. It’s more time consuming and tedious to have to log out and go to your notes in iPhone and write a memo in a timely and efficient manner especially working in a sales environment where your schedule is never a set schedule and you have to give customer service and do sales... build the important functions to make Rally a grand master piece other than that it’s no diff that anything else thieving ideas but unable to help. Also tracking steps... I wear a series 4 Apple Watch that tracks my work outs or indoor eliptical/indoor run. It only gives the option to use the Apple Watch and that’s it or just the iPhone... you think I’m gonna carry a iPhone xsmax on an elliptical and wave it around so it will calculate my steps-_- . If I just choose the iPhone it will be placed in front of me while I run and won’t track a thing...very aggravating and needs a fixin. Other than that it’s a cute idea but cute ideas don’t cut it only while grand ones make it big.

Bad Experience (UPDATED)

App is alright if a bit buggy; be wary of the rewards programs. After being given some misinformation by a coach during a wellness program I was told I was ineligible for the advertised reward upon completion because it was not completed in a specific window of time. Mind you I committed to a program for five months and completed all of the tasks.

Speaking with Optum Health reps made it apparent that they did not care and were more interested in proving me wrong than trying to empathize with a client who they had misinformed at the outset. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the customer service left such a bad taste in my mouth that I had to speak on it. They simply do not care about their clients.

Update 6/3: two this app reps did reach out to me today and the interaction was night and day from the prior one I had. The reps treated me respectfully and gave me a partial credit. More so, they made me feel as if they saw me as an actual person - which is all we’re really looking for. I have changed my review from 1 star to 3 to reflect this pleasant (and unexpected) resolution.

The Worst Wellness Program

We have participated into other programs through other insurance companies. This is the least motivating and the most stressful program. It doesn’t always track what activity we do even though Rally is attached to our fitbits. Poor instruction leads to more work and less outcomes. The only activities allowed to decrease insurance premiums is walking -which is already a health habit in our lives. I received the reward after 15 miles whereas my husband chose a different “ walking course” and only received half the reward after 32 miles. It makes no sense. You aren’t allowed to stop the walking program once started so he had to complete double the work for half the reward. The prizes (% off from movie tickets) are useless for people with money and insulting for those trying to make ends meet. The customer support is blaming and have yet to answer a question directly I guess because their training mimicked this awful program. Also I suspect people are using the no-heat dryer trick with their pedometers because some people have a ridiculous amount of steps.

Too many bugs

I like the program but there seems to be issues with Rally . There is a barcode scanner where you can scan and get the nutritional information. I scanned rice and it said it couldn’t find. Scanned another food and it brought up another brand. When searching certain foods you have to figure out how they have it listed or it won’t come up. Example: searching foods from restaurants you have to type the food then restaurant not the name of restaurant first. No place to specifically track water but you can under the meals. Problems with logging in. It says it can keep you logged in for 30 days. I have not even been on the program for a month and it keeps logging me out. Also says my password is incorrect. I’ve had to change it 3 times already. I guess I am holding it up to WW standards because their app is so great and user friendly. I can’t imagine the problems a less tech savvy person is having if I can’t figure it out.

RAH RAH RALLY!!!...

So I am a 57 year old female who is really trying hard to get healthier and stay that way. I lost my 30 year old daughter to breast cancer (no fault of hers; just genetics)10 years ago Saturday, March 23rd. While it still hurts you know I thought of what I’m trying to do and thought hey “ I’m doing this for me, and in memory of my daughter!”

I love the fact that this app really is encouraging, cheers me on, and makes me feel like I’m really important-Wait; what? I am important! And am committed to doing the best that I can to achieve ALL of my goals.

If you need a site (Health Wise), that’s going to cheer you to the finish line, then this app is your site. Every time I complete a mission I’m encouraged to do more. Thank you to the inventors of this app......Stretching out for my goals has never been easier or more rewarding-literally!!!!....

New update is hot garbage

All the recent 1 star reviews are factually accurate - the UI refresh is bad. Want to do a “City Walk Milestone”? Click on Activities and then... Browse Activities and then... Exercise? Group Challenges? It’s buried and nowhere does it even say “City Walk” except in the Reward section. But not only is the UI redesign bad, it’s also full of defects. I click on the first “Group Challenge” called Hollywood Hustle and it says “Details: 30 Miles -16 Days” - what does negative days mean?? So I join London Lunge which says “5 miles 3 days” I hit the 5 miles and sometimes the “Milestones ring” shows it’s at max reward and sometimes not. I think maybe it’s 7 miles? It’s not obvious. I hit 7 and it consistently shows the Milestones ring all green. It ends. No reward. Now it shows the Milestones ring as not full. Must have been 9 miles? Who knows.

Hey Dev Team - how could this release have gone better? Did you spend enough time on unit & integration testing? Maybe UAT so you got this feedback sooner?

Activity tracking painful and auctions are ridiculous

While I want to get healthier, Rally wears on you to a point it becomes demotivating. At least two times a day you need to resynchronize you health tracking device with Rally. Its just like at any time it disassociates your step tracking. Additionally it does not track any other health stats like weight or heart rate that can easily be tracked yet its just a check, yea I did it.

As far as the coins, for the 15 or so items in the marketplace is a good starter but after 3 months, not one change to the marketplace, this should be constantly rotating to encourage you to keep going. But the biggest disappointment is the auctions. On average auctions costing 250,000 coins, that is like 10 years of tracking activity, might as well say you will never be able to buy anything in auction.

App just requires a relook at what its really suppose to do, encourage or discourage you becoming healthier. Currently long term it discourages you.

.,

At first, I was resentful to complete these little programs on this app in order to acquire a discount on my insurance; however, I have come to appreciate the assistance they offer, how they keep me accountable, and keep me focused on my goal. I highly recommend the weight loss supports, the materials which were mailed to my home, the interactive group sessions, and the calls from nurses, following up on me; asking me pertinent questions which help me to stay fixed and determined. I always thought loosing weight was something I should be able to do on my own; but getting the phone calls and receiving the timely soul-searching conversations, has truly been a support to me at this time of my life.

Unintuitive Design

I want to continue using Rally, I really do. But it’s incredibly frustrating the amount of times I have to log in to my account through Rally and in Safari. At this point, it doesn’t make sense to use Rally at all and just stick with logging in from a browser. Another frustration is how difficult it is to find where to check in for my daily activity. It’s hidden in the rewards tab, rather than the activities or home tab like the rest of my goals. This was difficult to find in both the browser and Rally . There’s an error when I try to switch over to the ‘Find Care’ tab. To cash in this app coins, I’m unable to view the deals without cashing in my coins first. Lots to improve on and I hope these issues get fixed because I was really looking forward to utilizing Rally because I see how it could be beneficial.

Good App But Needs To Be Updated in Some Areas

I downloaded Rally awhile ago when our employer distributed paperwork with our insurance program. I kind of forgot about it bc it didn’t really do much for me.

We just told last week that some changes were made so I went back in. The daily activities are kind of fun and while yes, some people can cheat. I find that it helps me stay on focus with my parallel weight loss program.

My one criticism is that your water tracking is very outdated. No one really tracks cups of water any more - they track in ounces. I already use a water tracker app and it offers standard water bottle sizes (16.9, 17, 20 ounces) plus you can customize it yourself. To track in this app, I have to convert my total ounces to cups and round it down. The developer should change this feature to get with the times.

Also, you should allow a user to enter data daily. I forgot to enter my water intake one night before bed and had to enter it the next day along with the total I drank that day. While in the scheme of things it washes out, it would just be nice for someone to see their daily water intake. I would also suggest you not make that one a challenge-make it an actual feature of Rally .

Where’s the accountability?

I have participated in other apps that promote healthy habits, linking to either Fitbit or an exercise app. This program only holds you accountable for opening Rally and clicking a button saying you completed the “goal” for the day. There is no way to log dietary/ fluid intake, viral signs, weight, % of body fat/water among other health factor. Literally you can login Rally and click complete- never even getting off the couch... anyone can “claim” they completed the “goal”. Also, the rewards.... 10-20% off different items? Why can the reward points be cashed in FOR the items? Save them up and get a real incentive for no cash out of our pockets! That’s what I’m talking about!!! I have been using Rally and lost 30 pounds—> guiding my own diet and exercise plans! There should be better incentives!! I’m sure entirely with more thoughtful incentives, more people would suggest the program to friends and family!!

I hate Rally

In Rally itself there is a screen for submitting feedback. Once I wrote my feedback it gave me an error message that said I couldn’t use two Special characters in a row. Bear that in mind as you read what I wrote:

“ I just really hate this app. Rally is, year after year, difficult to navigate and use. Some links pop open into a new window where I have to set up info before doing whatever it is I needed it for, and it’s even more difficult to find something I’m looking for. I just got my biometric screening results back and I have yet to find the results on Rally (thank goodness the company that does it sends paper results in the mail). I just hate it. Altogether it’s just way too complicated while appearing streamlined and easy to use. Even submitting this feedback I’m getting an error message about using “special characters”. I’m pretty sure the most exotic characters I’ve used thus far are parentheses. What on earth. I just really, really hate Rally.”

Additionally, when I came to the iTunes Store to review this horrible app here is the text that was automatically supplied for me:

“Extremely easy to use. Helped me to get more motivated about missions and challenges. I would highly recommend Rally.”

Are you kidding me? That is the polar antithesis of how I and everyone I know feels about Rally.

Level Up with Rally

Rally has opened my awareness and the access to track my health daily. It’s something you always talk about doing, but never seem to get around it. I will say the incentives are definitely a motivator. And not just the fiscal gains but the newfound obsession with having tangible goals and accomplishing them all AND it’s good for you in every wellness way possible (mental, physical, & spiritual.) One of the best decisions of made in 2020. Especially with everyone suffering from heightened chances of developing mental illness or having increased levels of those same illnesses. If you haven’t discussed this app with your friends and family, you are really doing a disservice to your people.

Rally Age Functionality/Accuracy

I used Rally a few years ago via employer’s healthplan. Employer changed to a different healthplan for a few years, then returned to the former plan, making access to this app possible again. My account was still in this app system, but I have been unable to update or retake the Health Survey which determines a this app Age, and appropriate recommendations vis a vis Rally . Very Frustrating to follow instructions for retaking the survey, and then end up stuck on a page with no way back to Rally , and dead links to the Health Survey. If I try to accomplish this through my profile menu I get dumped to my dashboard, even though I selected to retake the health survey. Hope this can be fixed. Trying since January; even deleted Rally and reloaded it back on to my phone to make sure that I had the most current version.

Great motivator!

I love Rally! It’s a great motivator if your having a hard time getting started on a workout routine. It gets you up and moving, with little baby steps. You pick the areas that you wanna work on and Rally sends you little reminder messages to get up and moving whether it’s walking lifting weights or just doing something active for a few minutes. I also like that you can set up the Reminders to go off once a week twice a week or seven days a week Rally leaves it up to you. I also like the gym reimbursement through my employer it’s also a great motivator when that money is deposited into your bank account just for working out!

Very Useful app

I do agree with some reviews, where's the accountability, it is easy to cheat the system. I am also surprised that as a paid system, although paid by my company, that it doesn't use your food tracking app for its info like it does for steps. I would also like the ability to upload my own profile pic. Those things are ugly and limited.

Otherwise, I really like Rally. It is user friendly, easy to get points and cash every month, so there is motivation to use daily. Plus, there are challenges I didn't think would be there that I use. I did use the FitBit discount and it was better than I thought. I cannot wait to connect my Charge 3 to my this app. Thanks this app, just need a few tweeks to make it better.

Horrible new interface

Like what other users said, the new user interface is horrible. The original interface was pretty good. I don’t know who is the person in the management thinks that it’s a good idea to change the interface to the current one. What I used to access now requires me to click through so many places to get to. Some of places I just can’t figure out how to get to. Some locations can’t even register the action no matter how many times I clicked the button. To the this app Health management: you don’t need to change something that’s is not broken. If you just took over the management, you don’t need to change Rally to show that you’re doing something for the company. If you are not a smart person and you don’t really have any good idea, your biggest contribution can simply be leaving the good things untouched!

Love it, totally beneficial

It's wonderful! Easy to use. Quick check-ins to mark your daily goals completed. Easy to find answers to questions that you may have. Having the ability to choose my challenges allowed me to focus and keep in check what matters and benefits me the most. For example, dimming the lights well before bed - this is intended to help with my sleep. Some others of my goals are feeling grateful daily, meeting with friends once a week, talking to a friend on the phone, laughing out loud, walking 2,000 steps a day (which is automatically completed based on my step count recorded by my Phone's health app. I love Rally!

Zero customer support

You’d think something as easy as resetting your password would be accomplished without any headache. I recently purchased a bunch of gifts with my coins and received emails for each purchase. Then, magically, Touch ID won’t work so asked to enter password. I tried but apparently forgot it. I select the option to reset and was told I’d receive email instructions. That was a week ago! I tried over and over and nothing. Checked all my inboxes and junk box just to be sure. Then I reached out on the website and submitted an inquiry asking for help. STILL NOTHING. On top of that I’m still getting reminders to complete my tasks but have no way of checking them off. Additionally, my purchases are just sitting around waiting for me but I can’t get to them. I’d give zero stars if I could. Don’t understand why I can’t reset my password. Does anyone care?

Updated, changed to 5 stars. Check in on Activity has changed

Developers quickly responded and corrected. I use Rally daily and truly enjoy starting my day off with the positive reinforcement.

Following is my original complaint. With an update when you check in for an activity it takes you back to the top each time when you select done. Previously it took you to the next activity. This new change is frustrating and time consuming. I am a faithful user, but if not fixed soon I will not continue to use.

Meh

Not inspiring. But then I don’t need to have some app tell me to eat right get enough sleep meditate every day go to the gym run ski bike drink water go to yoga and avoid sugar like my life depended on it. I do that anyway. Always have. Well, since I was 8, so >almost< always.

Seems sorta silly to “check in” with an app about stuff I do every day even when no one is watching. That’s right don’t hate but I do what u do not because I need to get in shape loose weight develop healthy habits or reduce stress but because I Want To.

Being active is how I was raised, it’s what gets me out of bed at 0430 every morning. Being healthy feeling good looking great and having conscious awareness I am creating a reality that allows me to fully enjoy life is better than any ole app.

How about giving me my discount on medical insurance based on the ability to bench press my body weight run a mile in 6 minutes or less touch my forehead to my shins and a psychological evaluation once a year instead?

Seriously, that would take far less time to complete and present a more accurate picture of my overall health.

Do they know people fake the stuff on Rally yet? Hope so. Because there’s a whole heap of ppl who just pick a challenge and/or
Goal they can just click and check in while they’re eating a Big Mac drinking a 64oz regular Coke without actually performing the action.
Just saying.

Motivating and Focused

I was looking for an App that could give me that last bit of motivation so I could lose weight. I already am active, eat pretty well, etc, but couldn’t fight my night time snacking habit that was keeping me from losing a few pounds. this app turned out to be the buddy I was looking for. What I like is that it coaxes you to make small changes and makes it quick to check in each day so that you feel accountable but not lectured. And the reminders are surprisingly helpful. You can set them for any frequency. Best of all, it’s working!

I like it

I like Rally . It keeps me honest. I use Rally faithfully to check into my missions. It keeps me from procrastinating and I can earn a few bucks on the side to treat myself. I give it 4 stars because there is a part in Rally where you answer a series of questions and then it tells you your age based on your health. I am 50 years old in great shape. I eat well and don’t smoke. I work out 4 to 5 times a week doing various programs such as boxing, strength training, running, Zumba, etc. Well you would think Rally would take at least 5 to 10 years off my real age but it doesn’t. I can keep up with the best of 25-30 year olds. Anyway, it’s still a very good app.

By

App

Rally is a great motivator but needs upgrading so that the user gets accurate credit for time exercised. Rally seems to freeze up and in order to get number of steps walked to match between devices the user must sync constantly. Should be automatic. Should have a goal icon of how many miles left to reach the 33 miles required by our insurance plan. When the 10,000 step goal ends the user may think they have reached the 33 mile goal and stop walking. I have had two or three weeks where I missed my 33 mile goal by 1.3 miles because I didn’t realize that I had to go to challenge page to see that I had not completed the challenge. The goal and challenge page could be on one page to make it easier to meet goals. Just need a big upgrade.
