Good

I love this works for me never had a problem. The reason for 3 stars is bc of Apple Watch support you can put NissanConnect on Apple Watch but can’t lock, unlock or start the car on Apple Watch bc it tells you to open NissanConnect on your phone what’s the point of having NissanConnect on the Apple Watch if you don’t support it for people that have cellular on their watch. I hope in the future they add it to the Apple Watch app where you can start lock and unlock your car using the watch so I don’t have to pull out my phone please add this in a future release once this happens will be a 5 star for sure.
Update: I open NissanConnect on Apple Watch and it told me to open app on phone so I did then I went to my watch and clicked on home icon and saw that I can lock, unlock and start my car on watch so I clicked on lock car on watch and it worked this will make it much easier to use thanks and keep the updates coming :)

Unable to Connect to the Server at this time.

It worked great in January when I got the vehicle. I used it OFTEN to check the status of the door locks and to check tire pressure. But yesterday I was going to show off NissanConnect to my daughter, and it wouldn’t update! “Unable to connect to the server at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.” So I waited and tried again a couple of times. It finally gave me the status of the door locks, odometer and how many miles I had left of the tank of gas, but it was unable to update tire pressure. Today I’ve been trying again, and at one time I was able to lock the doors, but NissanConnect wouldn’t update to the new status. I’m soooooo disappointed! I was ready, willing and able to subscribe to continued services (though I feel they should be included free with the purchase of the vehicle). Not now. If it won’t work every time I try to access the info, I’m not paying for it! Great idea, but the reliability isn’t there. I HOPE NissanConnect is being worked on and that it will become reliable once again! Come on developers.....we are counting on you!

HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!!!

Absolutely WORTHLESS!! Wish I could give ZERO STARS! I don’t even recommend the free trial!
Ongoing, unresolved, for 3 months now!
Worked for awhile, then all of a sudden stopped working. Customer support “tried” to be helpful. After troubleshooting over the phone I was told to take in to local dealership. They diagnosed a bad TCU unit. So that was replaced, which still did not solve problem. The car sat at dealership for 3 weeks, to which lead engineers, technical support, Nissan Connect (NC), and Sirius XM was all consulted. Nobody could diagnose a problem. The car is now back home, still not working. NC support is apparently escalating the issue, to which I’ve had little to no follow up. I’m the one that has to initiate calls to follow up. The support team is useless, and no one seems to care, including the escalation team, to which I’ve spoken to and are aware of the issue! I will NEVER RECOMMEND this product/service to anyone, and will give all my effort to discourage people from even thinking about using/subscribing! I’m absolutely fed up and disgusted by this!

No remote start

Just lock and unlock are enabled. App used to have a remote start on application. Not worth a subscription if that’s a requirement for the Nissan connect app service provides. Why would we pay for someone to google stuff for us? Also the maintenance features are totally off. Nissan makes great mechanically engineered vehicles but their software and the software services with them are poorly designed. If their software engineers and release software was as good as their mechanical engineering i would be much happier. The audio from iPhone doesn’t always go to main speakers in car sometimes it goes to the iPhone speaker instead. I tried multiple Apple certified cables and iOS is up to date. Other than their software issues Nissan’s dollar per feature and quality value is highest in the world for vehicles and I hope they get better software engineers.

Foundation is laid , now build Nissan.

I am a big Nissan fan after owning Chevys, and a Ford or two. My first Titan was an 06 bought in 2010 used with around 45k. After putting nearly 200k on it. I could count on one hand how many things I had to replace to continue driving it. First was the stereo (must have) second radiator, third window regulator. The rest just wear and tear maitenance which I did religiously, always synthetic . And always cheap gas. I sold the truck to my brother he is currently still driving it. So I bought another one and I expect Nissan to be competitive in all categories but especially technology..and sadly they have been slacking but I think with enough irritated owners speaking out it will be remedied soon.

Why $8

I purchased my Rogue and downloaded NissanConnect only to find out the only “Free” option is to lock and unlock my car. I want to be able to start my car remotely using NissanConnect and not have to go to the door to do it. I talked to customer service today and I was told I have to purchase a subscription $8 monthly! You have to be kidding me? This is my first brand purchase and my previous cars (Buick & GMC) I never had to pay a monthly subscription In order to use NissanConnect features. However, after reading these reviews Nissan has a lot of work to do to clear the issues up and I really wish you WOULD NOT charge $8 to remote start your car. I really could care less about the ridiculous “other” features you added. I live in Michigan it snows! Geez stop all the crazy charges.

Nonstop issues for the last few months

You’d think since you have to pay for this service, it would work. Too many times to count since the beginning of the year, NissanConnect either doesn’t load, signs you out & then can’t sign back in, won’t start the car with an error messages of possible reason but not the specific reason, takes forever to load & is just super inconvenient. I “thought” buying a brand new a car with the feature was a major plus, however, with it working whenever it feels like it, is not. I would have bought an after market remote starter for way less $ and much less issues like my husband did for his Toyota had I known it would be like this.

Now useless for anything older than 2018

Nissan was already behind other manufacturers by only offering Nissan connect on upper tier trims while others offer it for all vehicles, now Nissan is one of the few manufacturers that are willing to screw over their customers by not offering a continuity plan when 3G gets shut down. So much for customer service. Why make sure you get to use a feature you expect from a platinum trim when instead they could ignore you and push you toward a new model right? Even if you don’t offer it for free at least give us the option and give techs the very simple instructions to supply older vehicles with a 4G TCU and tack on a discount if you’d like to at least appear caring for a nanosecond.

Broke.

I just bought a 2021 Nissan Rogue about a month ago and NissanConnect was working flawlessly. Now I do the update and it’s broke. It will not open now which makes me mad because I start my car while I’m at work so it can be warm when I leave as there’s a ton of snow on the ground now. Please fix what you broke.

So obviously Nissan doesn’t care about NissanConnect being broke. Your update broke it and you have done absolutely nothing to fix it. Even with hundreds of reviewers letting you know it was broke. Don’t waste your money or time with NissanConnect because it doesn’t work 95% of the time. And the other 5% it takes 15 minutes to get it to open. Faster to walk to your car and use the fob to start it.

Needs Lots of Work

NissanConnect struggles to connect most of the time even when being less than 20ft from the vehicle.

Not all information loads when updating and sometimes it won’t update at all. Tire pressure readings seems to always struggle.

***NISSAN PLEASE READ THIS*** - Why isn’t the vehicle displayed at the top of NissanConnect the actual model of vehicle the user owns?! Color included. This seems like the easiest and most impactful fix to the whole app! This is what would help connect the user to your app on a more personalized level, otherwise you feel like NissanConnect isn’t even intended for the vehicle you are trying to control via the technology.

One of the worst experience I have ever had

When I first bought my Nissan the car came with 6 months of the services for free, during this time NissanConnect functioned rather well and didn’t have any issues. I decided to renew for 8$ a month just so I could start my car from anywhere. Well I lasted about 3 days before canceling the services completely, and deleting this awful app. One hour it works completely fine, and then another hour NissanConnect is completely broken and can’t connect to the car at all. There is absolutely no point in paying for this service if it is not going to work 99% of the time. Other brands seem to have this figured out , yet Nissan continues to charge for an awful product.

Needs a lot of work

Both my husband and I have NissanConnect for a Maxima and a Titan. Our vehicles are 2021, brand new. NissanConnect tells BOTH of us that Maintenance is Required for high oil pressure. No warning in our vehicles. For my husband. It told him his door was open and it never updated his mileage left in his gas tank after he filled up. It’s been 2 days and the Mikes in gas has been the same. We were super excited about the prospect of starting our vehicles from NissanConnect , and sometimes it is hit or miss if it will work. I know it’s new, I just hope they fix the bugs by the time our free trial is up so we can decide if it’ll be worth it.

Crap Service

Have had my car for less than a month, new 2019 Nissan Altima. Tried using the remote unlock feature tonight after leaving a movie, tested to make sure it worked before leaving my keys in the car and going into movie, and it would not work despite multiple attempts. Contacted support and they said they couldn’t do anything and directed me to roadside assistance. Had to wait about an hour for them to show up and open my door, hopefully they didn’t damage anything. What is the point of offering NissanConnect and service if it won’t do what it’s supposed to. Had it on my previous car and it worked without issue. This isn’t a good sign for a new customer to the brand.

By

Disappointing , but trying to be hopeful.

I was hoping NissanConnect/feature would work for my 2021 Nissan Rogue, however NissanConnect rarely works. The times it actually works it is nice.
Often NissanConnect will not lock the car or the remote start won’t work. Also the location of my car is often about 4 hours behind even if I refresh NissanConnect . Which I think could be why the locking and remote start will not work as NissanConnect thinks the car is further away than it really is.
I hope with updates to NissanConnect , the benefits of having it will become useless

By

A small inconvenience

NissanConnect is great! The only issue I have is when I try to open NissanConnect to remote start my car , it literally have to open and close NissanConnect about 10 times before it opens for me. The loading symbol just keeps loading and I have to close it out and open it again. It eventually comes up but not convenient at all when I’m in a rush or hope to warm my car up before I get in. That’s my one complaint.

By

App doesn’t seem to work when I need it the most

I would’ve rated NissanConnect higher if it worked when I needed it. It seems to not work when it’s the worst weather out or when I really need the NissanConnect to start my vehicle. I don’t know if NissanConnect is overwhelmed with users or what but I don’t think I’m gonna want to pay for the service when it doesn’t work. Disappointed with the percentage of the time NissanConnect actually works. It also seems that if you give a poor review it won’t except it giving you a difficult time entering a nickname.

By

Works 90%

I have now been using NissanConnect for 2 months and it works fine. My car is in a garage under my apartment and it still gets my car started. Only had an issue twice where it wouldn’t start the car for no apparent reason (I locked the doors to be sure). My only real complaint is that NissanConnect for my watch will only work if I’m holding my phone with NissanConnect open....completely defeating the purpose of a watch app.

By

Update is fantastic

Prior to the update, the remote start feature didn’t work without first unlocking the doors, then locking them again, even if the doors were locked initially. It didn’t even work if I locked through NissanConnect and the attempted to remote start. It had to be those 3 steps. This update fixed that! It finally does what it’s supposed to do! I have a 2021 Nissan Rogue

Nice features but horrible load time

Recently purchased a Nissan Rogue which comes with the this app services. Downloaded NissanConnect and set everything up. The features within NissanConnect are nice and I like them all. The reason I gave it a 1 star rating is the horrible implementation. It takes NissanConnect forever to load/login even if I’m at home on a very strong wifi network. Having to wait 1-2 minutes for NissanConnect to load to gain access to the features really ruins it all.

Have to say if Nissan doesn’t fix this issue with NissanConnect I definitely won’t be paying for this app after my trial period ends.

Works well except for below

Does everything it says, if you subscribe to the Nissan Connect service. The only glitch is in planing a destination (and even more complicated a route with multiple stops) to export to the car GPS. So many steps, that it is a lot easier to physically get in the vehicle and enter directly into the system. Wow....so much an effort.

I use the locator when it is parked, and have remotely activated lights and horn to find my car in a dark parking lot left by my family. The Apple Watch functions are impressive, and not that delayed considering the electronic path traveled accurately from Watch to Vehicle. It is nice to confirm the vehicle is locked remotely, and the engine start function is impressive if your are separated from the key controller. I’d give NissanConnect a 4.5 for these reasons, but since it works, I’ll stretch to a 5. I am very happy and grateful.

Come on, all you who criticize. Quit whining and complaining. The technology wasn’t available until recently, and can only improve. I find the concept itself amazing, and enjoy using it. Hey Nissan......still waiting for a vertical lift Z !!!!!!

Some What Disappointing

I guess the disappointment comes in the fact that after loading NissanConnect and following all the directions, you must wait 24 to 48 hrs before you have full services. Considering your paying $12 monthly you’d expect to be able to have remote access ASAP!! I will just have to wait my 24/48hrs to see how things turn out. Stay tuned

New update! My rating won’t change but I hate the fact that it takes so long for the signals to be sent to the vehicle while using NissanConnect on your phone!! If that could be solved then this would be a great app!!!

By

Speed

The speed from the time you initiate the command in NissanConnect until the vehicle responds is a little slow. Minor complaint.

It’s NOT working! The worst app ever!

Seriously, for Nissan to have this absolute garbage of an app is shocking. I haven’t been able to login for more than 2 months, NissanConnect would just drop on a sign in page.
Today I updated NissanConnect and was able to pass by the login, I actually logged in and provided the VIN# upon request, then I was asked to sign an agreement AAAAND NissanConnect dropped again, bringing me back to sign in page.
I signed in again, the VIN# request, - provided - agreement - sign - drop.
I did the same dance for 2 more times and I am done.
You need to stop bombarding me with the letters to sign for Nissan Connect, because IT’S NOT WORKING!!!

Works perfect. People are broken

I read the reviews and wondered why there was bad reviews as everything I’ve used Nissan has worked as advertised. Take note, that you must have the paid Nissan connect service. You must register an account with Nissan connect. So, I don’t see why the bad reviews other than people are broke and don’t know how things work.

The app keeps crashing.

When I click on NissanConnect and sign in and click on the terms and conditions. NissanConnect will crash. I even deleted NissanConnect and reinstalled it. I even reset my iPhone and I have the same problem. I tried it on my iPad and it’s doing the same thing. My work phone is a Samsung note 5 and NissanConnect works just fine on that. I’m thinking it has to do with iOS. Maybe Nissan hasn’t updated NissanConnect to work with the release of the updated iOS. But one thing I must say is, if your going to create an app. You have to work on it and keep updating it. This is bad business.

Not compatible with Altima S, SR, SR VC-T, SV

I’m so so so mad! Having NissanConnect SHOULD be a standard feature for all of the newer models! The this app app updated its term with SiriusXM and its compatibility with 2019 & 2020 Nissan models. The bad news is, only 3 Altima models are compatible with Nissan Connect: SL, and Platinum, and Platinum VC-Turbo. That’s it. Nissan excluded 4 POPULAR Altima models from this app! If your car is not on the compatible list, NissanConnect will not work at all. It’s a dead app for your car. Well, it’s a bad marketing for customers who bought Nissan vehicles this year. How am I going to check on my car or start my car in the icy winter? Nothing will work!

By

Terrible app

NissanConnect was working perfectly fine when I first purchased my vehicle and began using it a couple months ago. Would lock and unlock with ease. Then one morning I locked my keys in there by accident. NissanConnect WOULDN’T WORK! It said it couldn’t unlock the doors. Called Connect Services and they attempted to multiple times on their end and it still wouldn’t unlock! Needless to say, I was late for work and my husband had to come home from work and unlock it with his key. The engine start/stop has never worked either. LOVE my new Nissan Pathfinder, don’t like NissanConnect! It’s garbage.

Great App But Needs Improvements

I love NissanConnect because of the access to turn on and off the car and all that other good stuff that comes with it. But the Apple Watch app needs to be worked on. I always get an error when I use it or it requests for me to use the phone app which defeats the purpose of the watch app. The phone app is great though. Never had issues with the phone just the watch. Needs to get fixed.

The Nissan app has worked with Android phones for years, but you only mention Apple products. Your safety assessment is not reliable given the information you have provided. First you do describe what you're looking for with your NLP. Second, when you go off of thousands of unqualified reviews you can not have any confidence in the quality of your conclusion. I applaud your efforts, but you really need to leave safety evaluations to people who have expertise in application and device security. That or be specific about what you mean by security. My comment are based upon 25+ years of cybersecurity experience.

The app has always been slow whether it was just refreshing with the correct info or if it was remote starting the vehicle. Won't update when activating the app. Takes several times of refreshing before the correct location and info shows up. For some reason the "keep me logged in" box checked means that app may keep you logged in and it may not. I find the app rather frustrating to use and damn sure not worth the $15 they're charging for it now. It's time to fix the app Nissan. 2020 Titan 4dr.

The customer service is worst and the App equally disssaponits - customer service can't issue refund at all, they say they don't have an option like that. Come on Nissan u can do better

Kathy   2 years ago

Worst ever call and they tell you that you cancel service but they won’t give you a refund.whoever you speak with good luck trying to understand them

New 2022 armada. repeated emails from nissan to activate app. Tried 5 times and kept getting a portal error. Telephone number the app prompted you to use said they were still closed for new years on monday, january 3rd. Tried subscription phone number, person who answered said they only do billing and couldnt assist snd the app personnel were still closed for holiday. Have had lexus and infinity service over the years and nissan connect appears to be useless. should have stuck with the lexus 460 I was considering. Dont buy nissan unless you dont care about repeated solicitation and then no service if you need service. And avoid greenacres, fl dealership. No customer service.

Frustrated. Bought my 2021 Nissan Titan in May of 21. I downloaded app on phone and entered VIN # into app. It says that the Vin # dies not match. I tried doing the same procedure on my desktop computer and the message I get says, "Error! We are unable to process your request. Due to the discontinuation of 2G cellular network access, NissanConnect EV services can no longer be supported on this vehicle. We apologize for the inconvenience. For more information about the discontinuation of 2G cellular network access, or to learn about your vehicle's other capabilities, please visit the FAQ section of our website." I have gone to the dealership 3x and they can't figure it out. Finally, on that 3rd visit, they said that they entered the wrong VIN # into my radio system at the factory. They said that they have now updated my VIN # and to try and access and enroll again in 24 hours. 4 days later (and after trying to activate NissanConnect everyday since I've left the dealer), I am still getting the same error. App says wrong VIN # and the desktop version says my car is 2G/3G and not compatible. The dealership thinks that I can just keep coming back as they said "To keep trying until the figure it out." I have a job. I work all week. I can't keep driving to the dealership 2 to 3x a month until they figure it out. To say I am disappointed with Nissan so far is an understatement. :-(

The Nissanconnect service is garbage. My car is brand new and the service has never worked. The service department is clueless on their technology on their cars. My car has been in the shop for several days and the system is still not working they are just baffled. They told me corporate is aware that it does not work and to come pick up my car until they find a solution which could be a month or so. Terrible customer service. I have never had such bad service before.
