I have tried over 40 times probably to scan my drivers license & it’s a nightmare. my hands can be shaky sometimes & it scans it so fast that every picture keeps turning out blurry or the shiny film on the card makes it glare so that Yoti can’t see all of my cards information!!!! it is such a pain to get it scanned! & right when i think i got the perfect picture it gives me the error message saying that it won’t approve it!!!! my drivers license is BRAND NEW. there’s nothing wrong with it. there needs to be some changes with the automatic scan so that it’s more diligent. the format of my card doesn’t seem to be the same as the example either. one side is vertical and the other side is horizontal but it only shows a horizontal scan. it should have a feature so that it can be flipped vertically or horizontally for a better picture taking experience. it is so annoying sitting here behind the screen knowing dam well i’m a real person trying to get verified. please fix this! sorry but Yoti really got me heated. i was on it for almost an hour yesterday & tried again today! i got no luck.

I just downloaded Yubo yesterday and I saw in my profile settings that you had to verify with Yoti to get the yellow check mark thingie. So I downloaded Yoti and got passed the 5-digit password no problem. But then when I tried to fill out my info, it said I needed a physical ID card. I only have a permit so I used that. Two problems: 1, my card is made vertically but the scanner is horizontal. 2, I tried two times to get my card reviewed and both times they said that it wasn’t approved. What the heck is up with that?? Both pictures came out perfectly! It could be because my card is printed vertically but you can still clearly see the text. Why can’t I just enter my stuff manually?!? Having to take a picture of my card is SERIOUSLY STUPID AND UNNECESSARY. And, having to be verified on Yubo is also SERIOUSLY STUPID AND UNNECESSARY. But I think if we were able to enter our info manually, all of us would have a much better time, and you would have much better ratings and reviews. Facts. I hope you guys take this into consideration because at this rate, no one will download Yoti or Yubo. I will be deleting both or them. 😡

When I first started using Yubo, I didn’t think I was going to be using Yoti like how I am now because a friend has recommended Yoti to me. That is why I put in a fake birthday. But now that I am on Yoti almost all the time and I have made friends on there, you guys locked me out of my account because you guys think I am a fake profile. I am unable to use this app considering I do not have a State ID, a driver license, nor a passport. I have followed all of the instructions when you are not able to use this app to verify your account now I am just waiting for you guys to respond to me to verify my account so I can talk to my friends again
Honestly, I feel as if this feature is unnecessary and stressful because why should I need to verify my identity?? You guys said you locked me out of my account due to “security reasons.” I think you guys should reconsider this feature. Thank you.

I am going to see if I can start a petition and report to authorities to get this abrasive bully of an app taken down. No my id and otherwise are not required by law and you do not need nor is it required to scan my face. And some of us dont have an Id or school verification I use yubo normally just like everyone else, and i keep getting pressed to give you people my extremely personal information for the sake of “security reasons”. This is obviously not the case because hackers have been found all over Yoti and nothing is being done. I want my account back, and I want to be able to talk to the ppl ive made friends with. This “this app ban” was unreasonable and unprovoked. I had already verified my email and number. My id is not needed. Very unreasonable and obviously untrustworthy app. Edit: Yubo has told me to contact them directly but that is not possible. The best you can hope to receive is a robotic email response. Ive already tried.

I was able to verify my identity on Yubo quickly and easily using Yoti.

At first I was concerned, because I was worried the bad ratings were due to some sort of scandal or scam, like this app sharing our personal information. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

It looks like the reason for the low rating is because most of the people using this app are coming from Yubo (as per the partnership), and most of the individuals on that app are young people between the ages 13-17.

Understandably, many minors likely have trouble with handling verification, due to it requiring some sort of personal documentation, which the vast majority of people under the age of 18 know very little about handling. As a result, many teens may be getting frustrated and writing the negative reviews.

If I were to offer any advice, it would be that this app should put up more warnings somewhere that are noticeable when opening Yoti and getting started. A warning that would explain that the individual probably should get help from a parent, guardian, or other trusted adult, etc. That’s the only thing I can really think of that I would recommend they change. ❤️

Ima just say, i think its very suspect for all the information you ask for, i simply don't trust u having all this info on me, i did the passwords like everybody else, the face recognition, i did it all. But pictures of my drivers license and personal information that i don't think apps need access for, i don't think u should be this concerned with who people “really are” even when a great majority of people are exactly who they say they are. Idk if ur trying to prevent cat-fishing or what but its definitely over doing if u think about. You can say it sum you don't support the information we are willing to give but it just makes you suspect, respect privacy cause i don't wanna give that kind of information. I think you should fix sum of your app to be more of an extent so people enjoy your app more. But who am i, its ur app your rules who am i to judge. I dont know but definitely suspect. I mean give up your drivers license to a random app you just heard of and im sure u would feel the same.

you guys literally have no good reviews cause Yoti is horrible it asks for WAY too much personal information which is honestly sus like we’re all kids on here who are just getting blocked off our yubo accounts trying to get our accounts back it shouldn’t be this much of a hassle and we shouldn’t have to be verified in the first place I literally did everything Yoti said just for it not to work and for my account to still be blocked i’ve only got to have yubo for two days before my account got blocked and i’ve made two or four new accounts just to have it do the exact same thing so you guys really need to fix that everything about this needs fixed i’m just trying to reach out and make new friends during quarantine and there’s no other good apps like yubo the rest of them are so dumb and sketch it’s just so disappointing honestly as you can tell i’m mad

You guys ask for too much I’m trying to have fun on yubo but I can’t because I need to verify with this app it’s really dumb to be honest I got blocked today because of it and who’s identity am I gonna be taking a Pokémon’s identity I don’t think I can shape shift but since everyone thinks I’m not a person I gotta download a dumb app for another one after being blocked several times for it it’s honestly annoying to have apps like this you guys wanna change identity fraud but why use it on a app where no fraud could be made why waste it something that is not needed you guys are just trying to make money out of these apps paying you for services that aren’t even needed yubo is an app to find people and make friends but is not possible if I keep getting these dumb blocks there can’t be any identity fraud in a app that mostly has 13-17 year olds that just talk nothing is gonna happen you just a make bank easy for literally doing nothing

I wish I could give a lower rating Yoti was terrible for the following reasons. While the first few steps were simple enough what with my birthday and picture I was not at all pleased when I was asked to show my identification to an app. Another reason I was highly displeased with Yoti is because the only reason I downloaded it in the first place was because I had to further prove I wasn’t a bot even more which to me makes absolutely no sense because I hand already had multiple conversations via phone or video chat plus the only reason I had to do this was because I said the same thing multiple times even though I was far from the only one doing it. Overall this was a terrible identification app and would not recommend it to anyone and I will definitely be deleting Yoti along with Yubo which is also awful.

I have a apple medical ID that has all the info that REX Hospital has on me and they said they only can have physical cards I’m 13 and I can’t even have a medical ID let alone do I have a driver’s license, a state ID and a passport I gave them a ID and cropped it because it had my personal information on top of it and then they say you might wanna try with a valid ID with full date of birth you don’t get those in middle school you can get a ID with your name a barcode and you’re grade no picture and even in college it doesn’t have full DOB? Like what am I supposed to do as soon as I downloaded this basement bargain app my account locked Yubo should’ve know better than to partner with an app with 2.3 stars it ruined Yoti entirely you’re letting 20+ year olds on Yoti but will lock other people’s accounts when you should be focusing on pedophiles on a minors app this is ridiculous!

Yubo wanted me to download a second app to confirm my identification. This seems very sketchy to me. Why don’t they include an identification system in their app? Tinder and bumble both have an identification system in them that doesn’t require you to download a second app the request all your personal information of you as well as your legal documentation. I understand that the developers are trying to make sure no one is lying about their age or whatever but it seems very suspicious when they want me to download a second app that request almost all of my personal information. I do not feel comfortable giving out all my information online as well as pictures just so you guys can get hacked and then all my information gets stolen. Please create a better system yubo!

Alright so I’m not one for listening to other people’s reviews for things so the 2 star rating didn’t bother me too much.

I downloaded Yoti and open it up and you know those weird evil apps you see in movies? The opening animation truly gave me that vibe. Continuing on, I wanted the yellow check next to my name on Yubo so I kept going for a little while.

It was up until it asked me to take a photo of my personal items that I started to feel uneasy.

Procrastinating on that I decided to just take a picture of my face because that was the first step. At the time when I first downloaded Yoti it was around 4:30am bc quarantine schedule and it asked to take my photo and I didn’t turn on the light bc it had a flash. Move on to the second photo I turn on a light bc it requires a green circle to take the photo on Jesus Christ it really is as horrible as everyone else says. Apparently my face doesn’t match with my own face. The green circle hardly picks up but even when it does it still doesn’t work.

At this point my hands are shaking and I don’t have the patience to keep this up.

About to uninstall and wanted to warn everyone else from Yubo; it’s not worth the headache.

I’ve been using yubo for the last 2 years and have no problems with my account. It recently told me that I needed to verify my account. At the time I had no idea what to do, so I wasn’t active on Yoti for a good month or two. I recently decided to give the verification a try and it worked after a few days..Used Yoti for a good few weeks. My phone broke, when I got my new one and downloaded yubo again, it told me I had to do the whole verification process again. This is very frustrating and needs to be fixed. I shouldn’t have to verify every time I log in.

I agree with most of the reviews on here that Yoti is ridiculous. I understand theyre partnered with yubo and yubo is just using this site for verification, but their responses to complaints seem nothing more than hypocritical... obviously an ID is used to make sure you can be correctly identified, but this app claims your information is stored very securely and you're the only person who will ever have access to it. what is the point of entering it into Yoti if you're the only one who has access to it? they have to see it to verify it, do they not? it all sounds shady and I understand why people are wary of Yoti, it seems like a security breach and a risk people shouldn't be forced to take.

When I didn’t have the documents they didn’t “support” and tried using the other loophole it still did not work and I still could not get to my Yubo account. A permit is considered an ID document everywhere else but for this app which is bizarre. I reached out to this app and didn’t get any useful information. They emailed me and everything. EVERYTIME I tried I never got verified. And i don’t know why it’s my account that has to be verified when everyone else I know that uses Yoti doesn’t have to go through this process. If we have to get verified before using Yoti then why does Yubo let us create and use an account without saying we have to get verified first.

i would give it a negative amount of stars but i have to choose a star. i had to verify my yubo account and it won't let me. says it doesn't accept my form of identification. but i don't have a driver's license nor a passport. do not offer it if it ain't gonna work. honestly a piece of trash app all i wanted to do was open my messages on yubo. but yubo is also trash now bc i won't be able to ever get into my account bc this stupid app. i hope you have this fixed for people later on. but i won't be using your services again. i have more of a chance ordering something for free off wish and it working and being exactly what it said then getting into my account.

The situation you’ve got for scanning/taking a pic of a driver’s license is terrible. It always comes back as saying there was too much glare. Well no duh, you force the picture to be taken automatically and always with flash. Your scanner never picks up the back of my card, so I have to go through 4 steps every time to rescan. Let the user have the option of taking a manual picture from the start and it will save everyone some headache. Yoti is a waste of time with being able to verify an ID. I bet thousands of people delete it for this reason.

For some reason the first time I put in my date of birth, this app accepted it, which is correct because I am definitely 13+ but I had to delete and redownload Yoti because something went wrong and it wouldn’t review my video. Now I am trying to create another account and Yoti keeps telling me that I need to be 13+ to use Yoti , I am. This is very confusing and I would like to have this fixed so I can get verified on yubo.

I think it’s pretty stupid how Yoti doesn’t support vertical id’s, most of the users on here are teens trying to verify their yubo account, and most of us are not over the age of 21 (where your id is supported on Yoti) I’m pretty sure most users do not have anything other than that and getting a hold of my passport is a no as my parents keep it locked away for only vacations and whatnot. But seriously? I can’t use my provisional drivers license? That’s kind of retarded and I think you should consider supporting our permits and starters driving license cards. For now I will make sure I never use Yoti and hopefully others realize Yoti is as stupid as I think.

Just wanted to let you guys know I thought it was a very simple app easy to get through the set up. The other reviews complained about not being able to take pictures of their IDs and it was so simple I couldn’t believe it. it didn’t work once and all I did was clean my ID and then it took the picture just like that no problems. Simple if you read the f&q which people should do before they get anything just makes sense thanks

So I download this app because I wanted to get verified on Yubo I start it give phone number, agree to terms and then I get hit with a 5-pin(by the way make it like 4 or 6 not 5). It guessed I’m 19 but I’m 17 I don’t have a pass port, drivers license, or a ID. So because I don’t have one of these I can’t enter in my gender, birthdate, or my own name. I have a birth certificate and a drivers permit. Also the biometric stuff is all out off wack I did that face word scan thing and it took me 5 times to do. Also how it take like 3 times on add photo to tell it was me like what?!
So if I could someone from the dev team to let me put my name, date, and gender that would be nice. Also it said some 13+ how can a 13 year old possess a drivers license, passport, or state ID.

I used Yoti for the first time today. Had no issues going through the steps and I live in the US. Just follow the instructions and wait for the notifications saying that the next step is ready. The scanner did change my birthdate by one number so after a nice email exchange the information was updated. Overall I’m happy with how this app is performing with an account that is not located in GB. Thanks!

Honestly it’s really annoying how I have to use a document for my information. Why can’t I just enter it in? I’m just trying to get verified on yubo and I have to go up and get a document? You guys should really fix this. It’s really one of the biggest things wrong with Yoti. It’s a inconvenience to have to go and get a document. I wish I could just enter in my information. And the scammers are extremely slow. Overall I hate Yoti. It needs much improvement.

I downloaded Yubo and to get verified, I had to sign up for this.
Okay. I follow all the steps.
When I get to ID and all that I take a picture of my STATE ID....says it’s expired yet it clearly states it expires in 2020.
I tried 3 times and got the same thing.
I email them about it and they ask for a screenshot.
Well, I deleted my account on the basis I need to protect myself.
I clearly explained, again, the situation and I was pretty much blown off.

“We're sorry to hear that but as ever, if you need any help with Yoti in the future please do not hesitate to get in touch.”

This was the freaking response.
Yoti may be good but your customer service is severely lacking and it’s appalling that they won’t try to help offer solutions.
I don’t recommend Yoti on that account alone.

Yoti is hot garbage if anyone could help me it’d be great. Every time I try and scan my drivers license it takes the pictures and tells me it couldn’t be used when I know for a fact I have a active and legal license. What makes it more ridiculous is that apps require you to use Yoti specifically to be verified and it doesn’t even do what it’s supposed to. It’d be much appreciated if I could get some help.

Hello, I’m a user on Yubo and have already emailed their/your support email. (On 12 hours with no response from either) I saw this coming with my account being locked with the new update, considering it’s not veritified. Although I’ve tried to APPROVE my CALIFORNIA ID MANY TIMES, Yoti almost refuses to work with me and my vertical ID. Really, why doesn’t it register them? :( I’ve talked to many other vertical ID friends who have the same problem. Help and fix this please!

I couldn't add my license. After contacting them. Sending them pictures of my license they still couldn't figure out to add it! I have a Massachusetts DL! They also forwarded me a email they were having with another customer by accident! They wouldn't even give me a direct answer other than "we are working on it" that's not enough when you're handling people's information.

Listen- no matter what Yoti claims, you should never give your information out to apps like this. All they do is scam you. The people running Yoti are going to reply to this and say it’s not a scam, but you cannot listen to them. If you want your account verified, please find another way. This is not safe. The whole purpose of these apps is for identity theft. Please be safe online and never trust companies like this.

This is like the most basic scam ever, “we need your date of birth, don’t just enter it in, please take a photo of your driver’s license, your passport, or your state id, once you’ve don’t that I’ll be able to steal your identity with 0 problems” this is mind boggling, I go to check my Facebook advertisers who have uploaded a list of my info and guess who’s there on the list, FREAKING this app this is a dangerous scam

Seriously who thought this was a good idea? Harvesting how people and speak and uploading a video for it to be “analyzed” for a few minutes. Pretty much asks you for everything except your social security number. Wouldn’t be surprised if my bank account was drained within the next few days and my likeness is being sold on the dark web. Great app!

Yoti is atrocious in the amount of info they demand you to give in order to use it. I shouldn’t need to give you my license and voice and pictures in order to recover passwords. Seems very sketched. You have to give them consent on god knows what is hidden in those lines of consent. Awful everything is approached very suspicious. I don’t believe those 5 star ratings were real. Probs just their con artists reviewing themself
