While it’s quite fantastic what Expo has managed to do for the developer community and RN, the majority of the apps I have come to use and test often feels cheapened and watered down. Sure, it’s nice to “get 2 for the price of 1”, but maybe instead of being so focused on making the lives of developers easier, it also makes sense to consider the quality of apps that are being released into the ecosystem. It is regular people, after all, and not just developers that use apps.

While I am new to using Expo, so far my experience has be delightful. With open sourced dev tools I often run into at least one issue getting it set up and working. Not with this. Developers keep up that good work!

I was pretty overwhelmed at the idea of getting started with building a mobile app. Expo takes care of all the tedious bits so you can focus on building features. Can’t recommend it enough!

ExpoGo has made react native development a breeze. This is some serious developer magic, 10/10 would recommend for beginners and experts who are developing in react native.

There are so many apps that add to much confusion and too many features. This keeps it simple, but let’s you make sure you’re progressing week to week

Cheever et al have given us many great things already, however I truly believe expo may be one of their best technical accomplishments to date. Great work y’all !

Please add safe area layout support so the tab bar isn’t clipped by the home indicator, and the navigation bar isn’t clipped by the sensor housing

Am having problems since the latest update, it seems ExpoGo gets stuck when i try to open

No joke ExpoGo is amazing for developers. I have made 3 apps with expo so far and it is so much better than all other react native tools so far. Love it.

Was extremely useful until the developers decided to start removing core features

I appreciate what they’re trying to do here. Mobile development is hard. But yeah there’s still a lot of frustrating things to deal with and it works like 75% of the time.

Don’t have the option to reload with two fingers long press anymore!!

Latest update of March 29 has taken a core feat of ExpoGo : you can't open shared projects. You can only have your own projects. This makes it useless if you are testing with multiple project as a guest (not signed in).

You can do anything with JavaScript. If you feel forced to eject from Expo to achieve “a native experience”... boy you’re just not javascripting hard enough.
