Not for Mac

terrible

Don’t use Evo! They take your money when they want!!!

Evo will find any reason to take money from your account, especially with fees that they just pop out of no where and then they tell you nothing can be done about it. Just canceled my account. It’s not worth it!

Poorly designed

EvoCarShare has so many usability issues and bugs. Both UI and UX must be designed by the same people who built it. Please hire a dedicated ux designer for your app to improve the functionality.

App Crashes Mid Ride

Losing cars because App crashes and will not reopen. Must delete app and reinstall each time in order to get access.

Do Better!!

Yes Evo I have booked this car many times!! So now you’ve blocked me from booking it!! Well I have to start booking the car early because if I wait until 30 minutes before I need to leave guess what? THERE WILL BE NO F&@$ING CARS ANYWHERE NEAR ME!!!!! And all your users know this reality.

And bring back the radar but make it better. By the time I got the alert a car was near me it had already been booked. Having a radar that will automatically book the car would be ideal.

Get it together and get better FFS! Having EvoCarShare is useless if I can’t get a car when I need it.

I would give this app NEGATIVE 5 STARS if I could

My word EvoCarShare is infuriating to use. Complete and utter garbage. Freezes. Takes forever to show cars. Logs you out all the time.

Doesn’t support keychain properly

A iOS widget? Hahaha dream on.

How about unlocking cars with Apple Watch??... pffff... never gonna happen

I use and pay a fortune to use Evo every day and every day I have to deal with this horrendous experience of excuse of an app.

The worst!

For a least a year but more so in last month or so in Vancouver. unable to book a car, map can't locate me. Can't open car when get to it. Always asking me to log in. Says wrong password every time. I only go to EVO as a last resort.

Literally the worst app I have ever used. Ever.

Nearly every time I use EvoCarShare it crashes and I have to restart my phone. Not ideal especially when you need to end a ride and get charged money when it happens.

(UPDATE: It’s an iPhone 8 Plus)

Lost a Few Really Helpful Features

You can no longer book a car multiple times, which was a huge perk of using Evo before.

Also there is no longer a radar feature which is a huge bummer.

Latest app version does not work

After showing the logo it loads a completely black screen. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Same problem.

Keep getting logged out

EvoCarShare consistently (but with no clear pattern) logs me out. The way it behaves is to open, look for cars, say there’s an error, then I have to force close it and open it again and then I says I’ve been disconnected and I have to login again.

Sometimes this happens when I switch from WiFi to cellular data. Sometimes when I’m using the same connection. I can’t determine a pattern.

It is incredibly frustrating.

Edit: thanks for your response. I’m using iOS 14.4 on an iPhone 7. I’ll watch out for that release and let you know if it fixes it consistently.

Most infuriating.

This is how I experience the Evo app almost every single time I use it.
1. Launch app
2. app crashes
3. delete app
4. reinstall app
5. launch app (cross fingers it works OR repeat steps 1-4)
6. log in
7. book car
*if I lock my screen or switch apps before I find and unlock my car EvoCarShare crashes again, and I have to repeat steps 1-7

I have iphone 11 pro, always update system, and app updates, location tracking is on, blah blah blah every possible user error has been addressed and I can’t get anyone in support to help solve this. I hope it gets better soon.

Terrible customer service

I’ve been trying to access their services for the past two months and the information they requested, which I provided, was “not enough for them” even though the document provided was government official and indicated the information they requested. It almost felt like they didn’t want to grant ME access to their services? I’m from Puerto Rico by the way. Anyways, deleted EvoCarShare .

New design is slow

I’m Evo’s biggest fan, but the new app design is very slow to load each screen. I’m always left with a progress indicator when trying to do things before that were fast.

Also the design seems to have God’s towards Android style which I’m not a fan of.

Please update and I’ll change my review.

Customer service lacks empathy

Turns out mid-ride I find out that the car has a flat tire. I pull over to a safe spot, then call the helpline - I shared the story and the guy’s reply was that he will take it off the road. Showed no concerns for the driver, didn’t bother to ask if my ride was over or I needed to get somewhere.

And guess what, I see that car parked with the flat a week later the incident too.
Am thankful that this service exists but I miss car2go.

Good Update

Looks much speedier. Starts up faster. No radar anymore? I guess that’ll come back soon.

Steady improvements

Thanks for continuing to make it better. I wish this was in other cities so I could use it outside of Vancouver.

Love the radar!

So happy to see the the radar function, app is so much more stable Great Job!

Radar is finally here!

As a regular user of both EVO and Car2go, it’s great to see EVO app finally offers the radar feature! The new design is so much sleeker and booking is a breeze! The cluster feature also makes the map view less overwhelming and finally the map will pan/center to my current location when I launch EvoCarShare .

The best in-class carsharing app!

I really like Evo. I think it's the best carsharing service. Plus they have a great app and super cars. Especially when you need more space ;-) thank you Evo!

Needs some work

EvoCarShare is very glitchy and making a reservation always requires trying to reserve several cars before it actually works and lets you unlock one! I get error messages all the time. iPhone 6 support, as well as the ability to view your past trips/billing would be a great addition!

New design is slow

I’m Evo’s biggest fan, but the new app design is very slow to load each screen. I’m always left with a progress indicator when trying to do things before that were fast.

Also the design seems to have God’s towards Android style which I’m not a fan of.

Please update and I’ll change my review.

I am extremely disappointed with EVO’s handling of my account. I did not use the service at all over the past year and even removed the app because I no longer needed it. Despite having zero activity, I was suddenly sent an invoice for charges I was not aware would continue. I reached out to explain that I had not used the service and that I wasn’t informed about any extra steps required to avoid ongoing charges. Unfortunately, EVO refused to acknowledge the situation or offer any resolution. Their response was unhelpful and showed no willingness to consider the circumstances. It’s frustrating to be charged for a service you didn’t use and receive no understanding from customer support. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend EVO. Their billing policies are unclear, and their customer service is not supportive when issues arise.

New user here. I have used a car five times and a bike once. Positive experiences. I love the fact that you can pick up a car anywhere and drop it off virtually anywhere. The app is great too. Recently, the service came to our rescue in a downpour with my family. I have figured out the billing process and it is pretty straightforward. If you drive longer than 37 minutes, you are charged for an hour, which is in your favour, so you might as well keep the car for another 23 minutes. It's least expensive if you use a car for exactly one, two or three hours. Those are the lowest hourly rates ($20.20, $19.17, $18.82 per hour, respectively, for BCAA members). I'm mystified at how these cars are maintained, though. Do they have a mobile crew that services them curbside? I have encountered two with low washer fluid, dangerously dirty windshield interiors and a low tire pressure warning light. I reported them, but I don't know how quickly the issues are dealt with. My biggest complaint, as a bigger guy, is how uncomfortable the Prius is to sit into. Once in, it's fine but especially when people don't slide the seat back, it is difficult to get in. I learned early on that users are charged from unlock to lock, including any stopovers, so plan your usage carefully, and remember that the meter is ALWAYS running. I'm still learning the ropes, but it seems like a great service. I have no other car share companies to compare to. The bike experience was not as great, but it came in handy once. The seat wouldn't stay up.
