Love the new app design. Much more functional and easier to use than the previous version.

DSrouter is good for changing some of the settings of the router, but I really think it could use an option to secure DSrouter with Face ID or Touch ID.
Until then, I don't think it's a good idea to leave DSrouter on a device with a profile saved.

Love the features but needs dark mode theme

I love the router. I love my many Synology boxes - 8 and 18 drive units. I think DSM is a decent piece of Linux management software. I think SRM is a very nice porting of DSM to a router. DSrouter, however, leaves much to be desired. What it does it does adequately. The basic overview in real-time is even quite good. The fact one cannot fully administer the router through DSrouter - probably 60% of functions are unavailable - is highly annoying. Why can’t I access the DHCP table? Why can’t I add to the DHCP reservations? These are fairly basic admin functions. I wouldn’t mind except that there is NO WAY to access SRM via iOS except using DSrouter . It CANNOT be reached by a browser. That is UNACCEPTABLE!!! The DSM app offers desktop mode to obviate the fact it doesn’t allow access to most functions, why doesn’t the DS Router app??? With that it would have 3-4 stars.

Many have stated it...it’s a solid start but needs a little more. DSrouter is not full function. The router has a lot to it but DSrouter does not 100% control of it. I have the IPS app and I get alerts all the time through DSrouter but I am not able to click an alert and still down on that alert like I can accessing it in the browser. If you ConnectTo setup with your router, you can access it through Safari but the experience is not great. Again, just wish there was more control in DSrouter . It’s almost like this was just a “let’s build it and see what happens” and the there are two separate groups working on this at Synology...one group on DSrouter and another on the SRM (operating system of the router).

They have added a lot of good features. However for safe access if you are trying to pause, resume, or reward, from the safe access list, it hardly ever works (currently that hasn’t worked properly for me once in 5 months) if you try it will either fail silently, or most the time it does the action you requested to list item right before or right after the one you clicked on. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to reward one child and it rewards another or tries to pause a child’s connection only to have it pause my work computer’s connection.

It’s nice but extremely annoying because it doesn’t actually work like advertised.

I use this with an ac2600 router from Synology that has an atrocious internal web interface for SRM interaction.

DSrouter works even when the router SRM interface is hung and settings changed through DSrouter seem to speed up SRM’s internal web interface recovery.

What is missing in DSrouter is the ability to add additional login profiles. After adding one profile, you can modify it but not add another. It asks you so scan a QR image on the back of the router that I assume other router models have.

DSrouter works for what it does, but most of the router functions are missing. Administering WAN is what I’m missing the most.

Because DSrouter doesn’t offer everything, you have to use a web browser, request desktop mode, hope the resolution cooperates, sometimes turn the phone sideways and back, and use the ring buttons. DSrouter would be better.

Even better - make an API and somebody will build an app that works.

Great app! I was surprised by the capabilities available for monitoring a router from my phone, it's what I have been wanting for so long. Router itself is great, typical Synology quality software that blows the doors off anything on the market.

Being able to monitor home internet connections and security remotely is a huge plus!

DSrouter is terrible. We traded in our Gryphon router because DSrouter couldn’t consistently turn on and off the WiFi or manage devices, so we got the Synology router which was top rated by CR. Big mistake! App can’t set up the router, when I delete and redownload it immediately seems to think I want to check my mesh access points (which we don’t have) for some reason. Gives error codes with no explanation of what the error is, etc etc. Just overall very poor UI/UX.

I love the router. But going back some updates, I started having problems printing from my Apple products and using Apple AirPrint. So like a good customer, I called customer service then waited for a new update. The following update fixed the problem. Then I noticed recently that I can’t print again. So now I’m back to using my old Apple AirPort Extreme.

Great app with lots of features. Please add some more helpful app notifications. Things like a never before seen device connected, whether a device has exceeded a certain amount of data usage or if safe access or threat prevention blocked something. Thanks!

Really user friendly app. Much better than their desktop interface even though it's not as feature rich.
Suggestion: needs a universal on off slider for enabling and disabling parental controls across all devices.

It’s been a while and despite feedback DSrouter still has not been upgraded. I can’t even make many basic configuration changes from my phone, yet DSrouter wants to highjack control when you try to call up your router page in a browser. Please upgrade DSrouter with more functionality.

Synology is completely scattershot and disorganized when it comes to iOS mobile apps and overall branding of their products for consumers. Come back in 5 years if they're still in business and have figured out what and who they are. In the meantime, their apps are incomplete and abandoned for a newer app that is incomplete in a different way and then eventually abandoned as well.

DSrouter, just like the router, and the web interface, is awesome! After years of fiddling with buggy, non-supported routers from the big guys, it’s been a pleasure for me to work with the Synology router, and DSrouter is like a cherry on top of a delicious Synology pie! (Sorry, got carried away!)

DSrouter is excellent but it is good if I can change the measure units that are always presented as kBs (KiloBytes seconds) because here in America we use mostly Mbps (Megabits seconds).

Absolutely love SRM but DSrouter needs some work. Not sure if this bug is only present for iPhone X users but on the Security tab, the first Port Forwarding rule is hidden. You only see it if you pull the list down. Would love to see DSrouter optimized for iPhone X. For a company that makes great management software this is a little weak.

Finally a router that has a proper operating system. Enough with the buggy and horrific UX of Netgear and Asus. Synology nails it with an out of the box proper parental controls and VPN. Highly recommended.

The router itself and web-based interface are great. Skip DSrouter as it is useless.

It worked until the latest firmware update as of March 2020. Slower to refresh data than the web-based interface when it did work. Sneakily defaults to sending analytics data to Google even if you’ve turned it off via the web interface.

I would be great if I could toggle VPN for my WAN connection, mange my second WAN connection, and change units from MBs to Mbs.

Not only does DSrouter not let you turn on the VPN, but you can’t even access the administration page via a mobile phone, it automatically takes it to DSrouter . So I have to have a computer if I want to change to a VPN or some other settings.

Make directions more clear when setting up app.

Good app for monitoring, not so much for managing.
I still need to launch the web interface to turn the VPN on/off, amongst other things.

Great app would like to see more functionality around VPN selection and quick Smart WAN switchover capability.

Seems to be great at all the basic stuff - but definitely want more out of DSrouter . Particularly to control my custom VPN on and off. More function and you’ll get ***** stars!
