I purchased a lifetime subscription to the Taxbot app years ago. Shortly after purchasing the lifetime membership, the company was sold to Hurdlr. Hurdlr recently (a few days ago) notified me that in order to use the same services I already purchased with Taxbot, I need to pay for another subscription because Hurdlr doesn't participate in lifetime memberships. This is a direct breach of contract. The service that I purchased from Taxbot was paid for in full and details should have been worked out with both companies prior to transferring of ownership & grandfathering those in that previously paid the hefty lifetime membership / subscription price. I have reached out to Hurdlr's customer service via chat and since my last message, despite being shown as read by their customer service agent (along with my next message, asking for verification of their physical mailing address) - I have not heard any response back. I have saved screenshots of the chat messages, recognizing that despite the fact that I had a lifetime membership, the company so graciously allowed me to continue using those services (which I rightfully already am entitled to, as I paid IN FULL when the company was owned by Taxbot) since the transfer of company hands but that I will need to repay again. I would like to avoid legal action regarding this matter and have reached out to the contact information that I can find for both Taxbot & Hurdlr, all upper management and owners/previous owners - as this resolution of this matter involves both companies.

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE Re: invoice# 0C63CA31-0002 Receipt# 2232-7229 Amount stolen from my credit card $59.99 (unauthorized charge and abuse of personal information) and need to be returned to the credit card you stole this money I canceled my subscription last year! This is an unauthorized renewal. I don’t use HURDLR since beginning of 2020! You do have to return my $59.99 money right away. You are stealing my credit card information for a canceled subscription. I canceled the 2020 subscription way before the end of the year 2020. I canceled the subscription! I demand the void and return of this unauthorized renewal of subscription of $59.99 to my credit card immediately You don’t post a valid phone number to contact your customer service Regards Elena Taboada

Disappointed

It does not give accurate addresses which I need for my records. It takes up to .5 of a mile to activate when you start driving. Also it frequently thinks a red light is the end of a trip. So when you are trying to expense a driving log, good luck trying to figure out what client you were working on because you are 3 blocks away and likely on another street by the time it begins. They say you can link the trips but seriously it would be less work to write it down at the time. Trying to recreate the driving record once a month would be impossible to do accurately. If you use the manual option, once again you might as well just write down your start and stop so what good is this app?? It does have some accounting things in it but I am not interested in any of that so this is a complete disappointment. It cannot even get my home address correct, it shows up as an ENTIRELY different street! Seriously y’all need to do better than google timeline (which is more accurate and free by the way) to charge 60 a year :(.

Unbelievable!

Just started using this this app 4 days ago. Changed all the settings after purchasing the program as recommended to track ALWAYS. My first trip registered fine. Was using my bicycle for my first day of work after driving 850 miles to get to it. At the end of the day I realized that it was recording everything! Didn’t want to track my bike mileage. That’s good I guess. Notifications showed over 170 trips. At least that worked. Also been driving over 2 hours one direction for the last two days. Over an hour the day before. Today I finally broke down to categorize these trips AND they were not there! Not sure where all those bike trips went. I cleared all my notifications this morning, including everything not related to HURDLR. Maybe that’s a bug. Not sure, but I’m done anyway. Only my first trip which was registered even though it showed up as 3 or 4 because when you stop for gas or a SHORT break it stops and starts a new trip. This app actually made my life harder. WOW! Canceling my trial/purchase immediately!

Never written an app review before, but...

So I downloaded the free version of this app and LOVED the mileage and expense tracker. Everything worked seamlessly and the automatic tracking, especially for mileage, was enormously helpful for tax purposes. I liked it enough that after the free trial ran out, I purchased a monthly subscription for premium. As soon as I purchased the premium subscription, Hurdlr suddenly was unable to connect with my bank account. In other words, though it had been automatically tracking and logging my expenses, now it won’t connect to my bank account and will not track or log anything. That alone is aggravating but what’s most frustrating is that I have been trying to resolve this problem for close to two weeks with Hurdlr customer service. No dice. I keep being told that my case is being escalated and they ask me to try to connect my account repeatedly with no difference in outcome. In other words, I’m paying for a subscription that I can’t use and that customer service can’t help with. It’s inexplicable given that the thing worked flawlessly when I had the free trial. Classic bait and switch, it seems. UPDATE: Well after two weeks I finally just updated the app (something customer service never recommended) and voila, it works again. Notwithstanding that my issue was fixed, it’s astounding that customer service was borderline useless even though I’m ostensibly paying for that support.
