the best quality time-lapse shooting! It has many options, such as choise of
shooting resolution and format, motion blur and light trails effects, HDR,
panning motion and more. After shooting is complete you'll need to export your
time-lapse as a video file or image sequence.

About Skyflow

It has many options, such as choise of shooting resolution and format, motion blur and light trails effects, HDR, panning motion and more.

Note that if your device has an 8-megapixel camera, which has a 15% lower resolution than the actual 4K, there will be a bit of quality loss while exporting 4K video.

After shooting is complete you'll need to export your time-lapse as a video file or image sequence.

but the export will be limited to the 540p resolution, 30 fps and the video will contain a watermark.

Restrictions are unlocked via a one-time In-App purchases.

Great control and quality time lapse app

It’s great at taking Timelapse so I highly recommend it but I give it 4/5 stars because of its file handling system. Skyflow can generate both huge video files and thousands of raw image files so the inconsistency of the file handling interface and the inability of its image to be handled in the iOS Storage app make it hard to work with. A popup that says “Where are my files?” leads to an Apple website explanation of the iCloud but sometimes files are kept internally, sometimes on the phone’s iCloud account, and sometimes on the camera roll, so the “Where are my files?” popup should say where the software actually sent it.

A tutorial or documentation on how to adjust thousands of Raw files in post would be helpful for using that feature.

Again: 5 stars for the time lapse feature and it handles day to night sunset time lapses well. I wish there was a way to ramp the shutter speed but at least it can adjust exposure over time or lock exposure if desired.

A great app!

I used to use Lapse-It Pro, but once they upgraded that app it became totally worthless, and I switched to this app, and I’m very happy I made the switch! It seldom crashes, even after shooting an all day time-lapse, I come back and it’s still shooting. I’ve been able to capture great storms and sunsets for example, and after thousands of frames it’s still recording, while the other apps usually crash after a thousand frames or less. Once I figured out the settings, I now get perfect videos every time :-)

Good Little App

I used to use iTimeLapse Pro, but hadn’t in a long time. I tried it out and it randomly crashes. So, I started looking for a replacement and came across Skyflow. It is clean, intuitive and simply works. It has some bells and whistles like noise reduction and hdr, but the simplicity hooked me in.

I like changing the frame rate while capturing. It means if you speed up the capture for just a small section, it will give that section a slow motion effect when being output. Like, I captured a frame every 3 seconds during takeoff and landing on a recent trip, but a frame every 10 seconds during the flight itself. It’s a subtle, but nice effect.

Best Timelapse app on iPhone, period.

List of pros would be just too long to post here, but as a many years timelapse enthusiast I’d say Skyflow has _every_ feature you could ever wish for on a mobile phone: 4K jpegs, a lot of custom controls, preview playback _while_ shooting - everything you need.

2 more features I’d like to see:
- manual focus control: for plant photography it’s quite hard to focus on a tiny dot, manual thingy is needed here.
- settings presets: I’d like to save and load presets of exposure/shutter/focus settings.

The best Timelapse app for iPhone

Getting a good 4K Timelapse out of an iPhone is very difficult and there are very few camera apps out there that do it well. this app is hands down the best Timelapse app I have used. First, it has never crashed on me during a Timelapse and I use on multiple iPhones without issue. The in app processing options are great and very high quality.
The options to lock focus and aperture separately along with real-time previews for motion blur and light trail effects is unmatched as far as I know in Skyflow Store. This review is based on the pro version.

I LOVE THIS APP!

If I could rate 10 stars I could. Sky Flow is so much fun to use and explore the various settings/tools, especially as a novice photographer. The only thing I wish it had was a way to see the internal file size of individual time lapses as well as an ability to duplicate them so that I can trim the same lapse in multiple ways. Anyways, I cannot recommend this enough and the paid version for a few bucks is totally worth it!

Looks good, but...

... it looks like you can only export photos through iTunes on your laptop. Not super useful if you want to upload your stills or videos to Twitter or Instagram. If i’m stuck having to use my laptop to get the photos out of Skyflow , I might as well just use my real camera ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In reply to dev: yes, I plan on uploading quite a few photos to various sites as I’d hoped to use this during a fashion show. I know it’s a far out edge-case, your’s seems like my best option now (especially since the time lapse built into iOS won’t even let you export stills :(

App is very good but,

I have had a good experience with Skyflow. Time lapse pro was my app of choice. Skyflow has it beat hands down. I have one problem with it. I purchased it so it is totally unlocked. I put it on my iPhone and an iPod Touch. Skyflow works good on both. I installed it on an older iPad and it’s like I haven’t paid for it. It shows a watermark and a lower resolution. I would like to use Skyflow on the iPad to not tie up my phone for long periods. I give it 4.5 stars even though it doesn’t work fully on the iPad.

All that and more!

Although the time lapse on the iPhone is fun and relatively good quality, it is nothing compared to what Skyflow does for it! Brings the full potential of iPhone time lapse to the user! With a great many technical options, as well as preset options. Breathtaking eye candy! It is a wonderful and mysterious world, with Skyflow you will capture it in stunning 4K! Blown away every time I use it!

Need the full version

Solid app. Has all the features you’d expect for a decent time lapse software. Beware though that you need the paid version. Relatively inexpensive so definitely worth it, but can’t use the free version because they put a watermark on your videos when you export them (kind of cheesy if you ask me but so be it). For a few dollars it’s worth it but can only give 3 stars for them adding something that’s in my opinion a little gimmicky that they use to force you to buy the paid version.

Perfect for time lapses

I don't own an action camera (only an older iPhone 5 SE) but I wanted to time lapse myself setting up my studio gear for 8 hours. Skyflow was perfect in every way - easy to use, 4K exports (after in-app purchase), and I could set the duration that I wanted. It even allowed me to make edits after the recording. Get Skyflow, it's the best one in store.

Works on iPhone 5/iOS 11!

Kudos on making a really great app that still supports old devices. I have a ton of old iPhones and while their video functions pale compared to their modern counterparts, the still cameras can still spit out greater-than-HD timelapses at short intervals with Skyflow. I can have 4 angle coverage of any event!

Great app for my needs, one ask

I would like to be able to set a custom FPS output. I want to do a custom “slideshow” to vary the style of video ultimately created at our gym(one hour class). When capturing 1080p, I can only do 24fps as the smallest frame rate output. This means I need to shoot at least 1s intervals or faster or it will be too quick to watch any movements.

Trim Video

I really like Skyflow but it is awful at trimming videos. I used the trim tool to erase a pointless part and it deleted the rest of the video so it was only the pointless part. There's no way to go back?! I just took an hour long video and now it's gone. I also exported it before I trimmed but didn't click "photos" so it didn't save. I think when I export it should automatically save to my photos. I just wasted an hour filming. Will probably find an app that was me trim out sections and restore deleted videos.

Uhh...

It’s ok but I didn’t understand nothing on dat app. It would be gud for professional photographers but I really had absolutely no idea what was going on and how to control things. I’m sorry but nah, this isn’t that good of a app. I really did not know how to do anything. In conclusion, get it if u want but it’s hard to work and I deleted it so yeah bye. (I really don’t think anyone gonna read this review but that’s totally fine just tryna help out here, also there are a bunch of other good reviews but mine is actually like completely honest)

Versatile

Didn't know I needed Skyflow until I tried it. Has lots of features and settings to make all kinds of timelapses.

Each timelapse is created as a project, and you can go back and keep adding frames. This is my favorite feature because it lets me easily create timelapses that span multiple days (such as plants growing).

Great app

I tried a couple of other time-lapse apps with good reviews, but Skyflow is much superior. It has the features and the capacity for taking long time-lapse videos. I tried the free version, but soon upgraded to full version. The developers have done a great job and I appreciate that.

It’s great, but more features please!

I shared a nice time lapse (fully unlocked) with some friends and I got a simple question back, “What time was that taken and how long of a time lapse was it?” Simple questions, but there’s no info in your app to tell! It shows the number of frames, but not any time stamps or time between captures.

Also, simple cropping would be a big help!

Good app except…

My one problem with Skyflow is that it won’t geotag time lapses, even though I have location services turned on for Skyflow and the geotagging setting enabled.

Other than that, it’s a real good app and I highly recommend paying the $3 for the full features!

Fantastic

When I go storm chasing are use this app to record 4K video raw with light trails long exposure and the Amy favorite and most used app for photography and videographeresults are fantastic. I highly recommend Skyflow to all of my friends who are jumping in the time lapse projects for storm chasing whether it be lightning storm structure or sunsets.

Good time lapse app

Edit** after contacting designer with my problem
Great app, with lots of options for capturing timelapse with easy to use interface. One advantage of Skyflow is the ability to export pictures to an sd card that you can attach using a dongle to your phone. But one thing to account for is if you want to export your timelapse you need twice the size of the file captured as free space on your phone otherwise Iphone wont allow it. For example if you want to export a 1gb file you need 2gb free space on your phone (this was the problem I faced and the designer answered it)

Quality app

There is a lot to love about Skyflow!
It has fine grained controls over the capture, a well designed camera interface, and a one time purchase model (at a great price I will add)

I would love to see some updates just to be sure it’s maintained for newer phones, and also a vertical mode for the interface would be a nice touch.
