Timestamp Camera Basic Reviews

I almost never write reviews, but TimestampCameraBasic is bad enough to warrant one.

I needed an app that can record video with a timestamp for an audition video. I took a number of takes using this camera. TimestampCameraBasic corrupted every single file. Sometimes it wouldn’t record any video. Sometimes the audio was cutoff. Sometimes it added two minutes of blank black video. By the time I checked my recorded videos and found what TimestampCameraBasic did, I lost two hours of my time and several good takes.

TimestampCameraBasic caused an incredible amount of damage and wasted time. Don’t download it.

The purpose of TimestampCameraBasic its to time stamp a moment. We’re someone needs to make sure that Wht there doing is in fact in real time. If I didn’t want to time stamp, I’ll jus take a regular photo. Tell me why is TimestampCameraBasic benefits anyone if you can manipulate old photos in your camera roll and bring them up as current photos taken in that moment. It defeats the purpose of real time photos.

I use TimestampCameraBasic for as a time card verification, to ensure employees are on time, they can jus take 20 random pics and say there on post Upload and time stamp, with out being on post.

TimestampCameraBasic should allow you to do that.

I installed TimestampCameraBasic and deleted it a couple of hours later. The photos app already shows the date and time above the photo so the only reason to stamp it on the photo itself is if you want to transfer it to another device or print it. I found that when I tried this, the top and edges of the photo were cropped out and only left part of the time and date stamp. Changing the location from top to bottom didn’t help because the stamp is right on the edge of the photo. I thought I could change to a smaller font but when I tried that, a pop up ad filed the screen and said I needed to upgrade to the paid version. The only place where the date time stamp showed up properly was on the original device. Anyplace else only about 1/3 of it appeared. Even the free version of TimestampCameraBasic is isn’t worth the price.

I noticed that some random pictures have the timestamp and all the other ones are missing the timestamp. I need to know that each photo I take at a certain location has a timestamp since iPhone doesn’t supply a Timestamp edit with their crappy camera app installed on the phone. Plus I need to be able to access and download The pictures that I take with the timestamp app, but my upload and download apps can’t find them amongst the pictures on my phone. The timestamp app says the pictures are being added to the album called Camera roll which I can’t find on my phone to take pictures from. Other than all that, the timestamp works fine, but only when it does.

TimestampCameraBasic does what it says, provides time stamps and location on photos. I have a couple issues though. I find the address accuracy is pretty mediocre. 3/5 times it will be one address away, which makes it kinda pointless because I do deliveries and it makes it seem like I'm at the wrong place. Houses in this area are pretty dense, so I will give it credit there guessing based on GPS. Next issue, I have an iPhone 12, but TimestampCameraBasic runs like I'm using an iPhone 3G. Camera takes 5-10 seconds to come up, many times it ends up crashing or lagging severely when I try to take a picture.

I like all the settings it has and different configurations of the stamp needed for the photos weather it’s a small map of you location or just the date , but where it falls short is the times that you need to open TimestampCameraBasic and it just freezes , prompting you to close TimestampCameraBasic and open again hoping it will work right this time. If they can just fix this I’m sure everyone would be happy with TimestampCameraBasic

I work in the gig economy and use TimestampCameraBasic to record pictures of my deliveries with address and time of delivery. About 40% of the time the address is incorrect. When that happens I close TimestampCameraBasic and re-open it. About half of that time, the correct address will display in the photo. The issue is the other half retains the incorrect address. It frustrates me but I cannot record reliably what I need. Otherwise, TimestampCameraBasic has been very useful. I am able to include a pay address which is beneficial in receiving some tips. Overall, a three star rating and if they could get the GPS working properly to record correct addresses all the time, I would give TimestampCameraBasic a five star rating.

Recently, I take a picture within the timestamp app and can see it on my phone, but when I go to my gallery it is not there. This is a new occurrence in the last couple weeks. Hoping it is a short-lived glitch. Otherwise, I still really appreciate this out!

I like TimestampCameraBasic . A couple of much-needed improvements:

1) The location on each pic only shows the name of the city where the picture was taken. It does not show State or Country. Since there are many states in the US with cities of the same name, a necessary improvement for US customers would be to show City and State in the GPS location.

2) A second improvement suggestion is to have the ability to automatically change orientation when you turn your phone /tablet sideways. So, for example, take a picture in Portrait mode, but display it in Landscape mode when you turn your phone / tablet sideways.

This fills in the gap of so many things that the standard Apple camera is missing like pausing a video recording. I would use this as my only camera app if you could quickly toggle on and off the Timestamp feature. Sometimes you want a quick shot without the time stamp and it is to cumbersome to go through the menus and turn off the time stamp, location, map etc and then turn all those back on. If you had a toggle button on the menu which would just show/hide everything then this would be a 5 star app

Update: The developer has since contacted me to tell me they are adding the camera selection for the iPhone 11. With this contact I have bumped my rating from 2 to 4 since the cust svc was the main issue I’d had. Once I see the update I may bump to a 5!

Original post: While TimestampCameraBasic is helpful due to its ability to stamp AND greatly reduce file size, I recently encountered a deficiency for iPhone 11. TimestampCameraBasic does not allow the 11 to select between the 2 cameras. I contacted cust svc about this and after several email messages, I was told only the 11 pro and 11 pro Max allowed camera selection, and you need 3 cameras to allow for switching cams. This is crazy! Every other camera app I’ve seen provides switching between the 11’s 2 cameras! Not only was I disappointed with the response, but the message came across as rude. I wish I could get my money back.

I do Instacart for a living and anyone that does Instacart knows we get a lot of people lying by saying an item is damaged, missing, or worse that they never got their order. If not for TimestampCameraBasic and the fact I always take photos of delivery with it, I would’ve been deactivated long ago. The reason I gave 4 stars is because once in a while it will say your next door to the address that you’re at. Anyone that does deliveries I recommend TimestampCameraBasic

I hate to tell you but the newest version didn’t stop the restore settings bug. It’s quite the pain to have to open settings every 15 seconds and hit restore before taking every photo, and hoping you can get it taken before you have to hit restore again. Had TimestampCameraBasic for at least a year and until this latest version, I haven’t had any issues. Please fix the fix!

I have an Apple IPhone and I can’t pause a video when I’m filming videos! So when I found TimestampCameraBasic from my friend who uses it and also has an Apple IPhone, so she used it and told me that I should try it out! It is an awesome app and so useful for filming! It makes my videos look more professional and It’s so cool! I think everyone who films with an IPhone should definitely try out TimestampCameraBasic and see if it worked as great as it did for me! I love TimestampCameraBasic! So useful! I had absolutely no problems with TimestampCameraBasic! I was so happy when my friend showed TimestampCameraBasic to me and I hope everyone likes it as much as me! (If you read my reviews on this!) I love app, no problems! Very useful!! 👍👍

I have a job that requires that all pictures have a date, time and location. TimestampCameraBasic is extremely accurate to where it’ll change addresses as I walk a road. The 4.99 upgrade was extremely worth it as I can choose the format and resolution of my pictures.

I love TimestampCameraBasic. For one I love that it has the time stamp. That is the amazing. Two, on the IPhone, after you start recording, you can swipe from the top down and it will record in the background for a maximum of 30 seconds before shutting off. With TimestampCameraBasic, there doesn’t seem to be any such problem. I covertly video for my job for long periods of time and it works well

I purchased that pro version and was very happy with it but when I restored my phone to factory settings and tried to download TimestampCameraBasic again the pro version was not available. So do you need to pay for TimestampCameraBasic again every time you restore or get a new phone?

Images which do not have date and time in the image are mostly useless and/or time consuming when trying to make an album. This is why I have bought Nikon for years, to get date and time in the image. Metadata is not particularly helpful and/or time consuming. And now there is location. Very nice, with a couple of frustrations: move a couple feet and the text description changes; and not being able to free style a caption. If I have missed an improvement, please make note of it. Thank you for your great product and the continuing improvements. Ed

TimestampCameraBasic was recommended and highly rated and so far it has lived up to my expectations! When you need exact documentation time stamped this is it! Sometimes the GPS can be a little off but normally it’s spot on! I would highly recommend this myself to anyone that needs to document Any picture as proof of delivery or whatever may suit your needs.

TimestampCameraBasic allows me to put a description of each photo or video as well as address and date and time stamp. I work for 4 national investigator companies for SIU and Locus insurance investigations and I have received compliments on my photos and videos have a description. I can type in description right before taking the video or photo and it shows on the product. Worth paying for! Highly recommended. Have not had a single tech issue. Super easy to use. Thank you developers. I would pay more for TimestampCameraBasic.

I also had a little trouble with the text font color not always standing out against all of the photo background so I just made the background of the font box as a lighter color and made the text to darker color. it did make the text stand out . jarred the picture a little but you can always see then the date and whatever I was trying to say and playing withing with fonts, it came out looking like a unique sticker. kinka cute. still playing with it.

Use TimestampCameraBasic all the time at work to track project progress. The time lapse feature is great though I haven’t explored if it can take regular videos also, which I could see also coming in handy. Only complaint is that the advertisements will drain your battery - risky when you’re out on the site and far from a charger.

I am a private investigator and use TimestampCameraBasic for field work. It has been flawless, accurate and in conjunction with my iPhone 10 is replacing my video camera, Go-Pro and often my 35 mm for many jobs.

Easy to use, video or photo option side by side, no freeze ups or distracting ads. Saving a lot of time retrieving imprinted metadata. This is the one!!!

Nice app. Easy to use. One button clicking to take picture and save to picture roll. Other apps take 2-3 clicks which takes too much time. TimestampCameraBasic needs to have a custom text line so we can add the name of a site or project. That would help for work. Also needs to allow orange text on time stamp. Orange stands out from most backgrounds. Add those 2 items and it will get 5 stars.

Update: They added different text colors but you have to pay for them. They added the customized text. Bonus: they added a map feature which is awesome. 5 stars from me. Very useful app.

Great app that does exactly what it says it does. The time and date of the picture taken are placed in the corner of the photograph. This is a very useful tool if a photograph needs to be authenticated by its date and time taken. Works for both photo and video. I am very happy with TimestampCameraBasic and would gladly have paid 10 or $20 due to the amount of use I give it.
