Good but needs more accessibility

Stan has been great but it needs a few adjustments to accessing doctors and billing. As well l, as scheduling.
The Standford Children’s app you can message the billing department on invoices rather then call them and have long periods of wait times on hold when needing to work on incorrect invoices billed to patients. Stan does not allow you to message the billing department about invoice errors. Another issues is, it says you can schedule appointments with your doctors office but you really can’t. It just leaves a number for you to call to make appointments. It’s not consistent.

Set aside from this feed back I like the appointment reminders and e-check in. But that’s really all you can actively do with Stan .
The Standford Children’s health is completely interactive and it would be great to see that same quality work with the adult patient app for Standford.

Needs work

Overall, Stan is fine. The main issue for my use is that the screen view does not rotate for landscape use. I use a keyboard with my iPad and every time I open Stan I have to use it sideways or completely remove my iPad from the cover/keyboard. This is really a no-brainer, but here we are.

It is especially crappy when trying to use it for my online visits where Stan stays in portrait mode. It is infuriating to have to constantly remove my iPad from its holder just in order to use Stan.

Really not thought out. Don't you people use your own products? Time to find programmers who think and feel, and don't just sit there dreaming about their tesla in the parking lot... really.

Great and useful app!

I have found myself using the services of several Stanford specialists due to some ongoing issues with my ears. I downloaded and set up Stan before my first appointment. It is so incredibly useful and well laid out! Within Stan from my iPhone I can e-check in, message and reply to my doctor, review my visit notes, view and upload my test results, and so much more. Stan is also fully compatible with Face Unlock, which makes getting into Stan an absolute breeze. I can’t recommend Stan enough for Stanford patients- it really is a no-brainer!

Bugged throughout.

Stanford health increasingly requires that I use Stan for all medical issues and since they have info for health and insurance reasons they have all my personal data. Stan is so not ready for prime time, it’s laughable. For instance, it makes appointments that neither I nor my doc requested. It sends text and redundant email reminders for these unrequested appointments. It sends text and redundant email reminders to look at test results which don’t exist. I guess it’s a situation of the shoemaker’s children having no shoes. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley and educating some of the world’s most brilliant software engineers, it appears that Stanford health has cut a lot of corners (including inadequate pre-publishing testing for glitches) on software engineering it’s very bad app.

Best App

Honestly as a young adult who struggles with organization and dealing with medical bills, appointments etc, Stan makes it extremely easy to navigate and organize your needs. It deserves a full 5 star rating.
If you have Stanford, you seriously need Stan because it will genuinely make your life more organized.
From ordering your prescription, looking for doctors, messaging your physician, setting up appointments, paying bills and more, it’s super easy!
10/10

Big disappointment

For me, it is a nonstarter that my health care provider does not integrate with the Epic MyChart Central patient portal. This lets me connect my electronic health records from past providers. Unfortunately, in the USA, I don’t own my health record. Every provider has its own implementation. And every time I change employers, I need to change providers. Stanford MyHealth was on the list of participating EHRs on MyChart Central. However, when I signed up, I found myself on a site that had no function to pull in my earlier charts.

Stan also does not support letters, meaning I can’t get them in Stan , but have to go visit the web site.

It’s Superapp!

Started using it three years ago even before it was clear my diagnosis was MS. Since then I now have/had four Stanford MD’s from four departments, love Stan (don’t ask, but I am old enough to have been a kid when the B&W TV series starring the late Christopher Reed was part of my introduction into television - google it!) The website (that preceded Stan ) improves each time I visit and is indispensable for the aging and somewhat challenged brain. You youngsters will understand some day. Stay healthy, but get that app!

Needs an iPad version

Stan otherwise is serviceable. But until it’s as useful as picking up the phone it often just gets in the way of what you want to do. It makes it very hard to contact a provider to ask a simple yes or no question like “I’m bleeding from my fingernails, should I make an appointment or go to the emergency room?” How are you supposed to manage your care when the design strategy of Stan is to make it harder to contact your care provider?

Additional people bug

When trying to add additional people, especially ones with the same name, Stan goes nowhere. This seems to have come up on recent updates. It used to work. When I click on the plus sign, my contacts come up. Those with a different name are picked immediately. Those with a similar name go to the full contact info page and no further. I have to go to the native calendar app to add that person.

So annoyed

So annoyed how dysfunctional the messaging application feature is. Will erase the 1000 character capped messages which often need to be minimized momentarily to reference complex medical documents and jargon. Attachments feature will also erase messages. Seriously unstable and buggy. Could have been coded by a child not to erase text while in the application. Epic fail. Please address. Some app features not fleshed our but have potential- assuming someone develops them one day. Idk

Love this!

Stan is fabulous! It has been so helpful to keep track of tests and doctors since developing a thyroid condition. One drawback is that my primary provider at Stanford health does not use Stan , so some of my information is not accurate. It would be even better if ALL doctors at Stanford health used Stan .

Great app, but missing iPad version

Stan works very well and is very easy to use, but unfortunately, it doesn’t have an iPad version so you can only view the iPhone small area on the large iPad screen, which is not a good experience. In this day and age, not having an iPad version is inexcusable, especially for an institution like Stanford University.

Need iPad version with horizontal layout capable

This is a great iPhone App with add-on capabilities. However, we also need iPad App with horizontal capability especially with the video clinic visit available today. Hope the iPad App will be available soon.

Need to improve..

Stanford need to improve the service and atenttion any time when we try to make or schedule appointments that are necessary in the short time and not for 2/3 months in front. More comments about the blood pressure tester many times are out or with wrong lectures. Just improve and will be the best one. Thanks.

Totally Inadequate

What a total failure on behalf of Stanford Healthcare to create a video app for senior citizens to ONLY be able to use on mobile phones. I suspect it’s no problem for a Gen Z patient to talk with their Stanford Healthcare physician through a 5” phone LCD. EVERY other virtual meeting app works on larger screen computers including portals created for Physicans in other healthcare systems. But Stanford Healthcare forces patients to use a cell phone. Again ... another failure from Stanford Healthcare.

It’s a start, but really needs work.

The basics work ok. It really needs an iPad version, though. Under the circumstances of COVID-19 video appointments between myhealth iOS not properly supporting the iPad, and video on the myhealth website being IE only (I thought we were a decade away from that being common) video appointments are far clumsier than they could so easily be.

Excellent & Easy to Use

A previous reviewer is wrong about not having Stan available for the iPad. I have it on my iPad Pro. This is a very nice app that is user friendly. It does the job without a bunch of unnecessary features. Good job.

By

Great app

I use this on my iPad and I get a full screen look. I use it for video visits too. It’s great! I have other doctors that don’t use this particular app and it’s not nearly as user friendly.

By

Too many updates

Every week it seems there is a new update. How about fixing it properly so we don’t have to update every week?

By

Great app and easy to use

I have consistently have used Stan for scheduling appts and messaging my docs and it was been great! I am surprised at how many specialties are available

Face ID never works

Every time I login I’m asked if I want to enable Face ID, selecting yes does not do anything. Tried turning Face ID off and back on, delete and reinstall Stan , still same problem. Otherwise Stan is great.

Fantastic App!

Love Stan, it makes managing my health care really easy. It’s so nice to get my test results and have a record of them and also to be able to contact my doctor. I love Stan!

By

Doesn’t work

App won’t open unless you perform the update. Update completed. Stan continues to say an update is needed to open. :-/ App is useless

Edit: App, eventually, one day started working again with no changes on my end.
However, contact from developer says I have version 2.4. App Store clearly says I have version 2.8. 🤷‍♂️

Where to go?.

On the next appointment it tells you what address and building but not where to go once you are in the building. There is always desk to ask, but I would like to know the floor number and the department. Just so i don't feel so lost and stupid. Anyway, just a little more info.
Also maybe how long the appointment is going to be.

Not a bad start

Stan does help communication with doctors and specialists for those using the Stanford healthcare system. My biggest issues are that not only is there not a separate app for the iPad, but Apple Pay is not supported—it really should be, in this day and age.

By

Login Issue

The first thing user does is to login to Stan . I do remember my userid/password. I was only able to login at the doctors office. At home it’s very rarely I successful logging in. What good is an app if it fails 9 out of 10 times.

Here’s is the error I keep getting.

There was a problem communicating with the server, please try again later.

Easy AP to use

Great ap that is easy to use. Very easy to get messages from my doctor or to make an appointment.

By

Good functionality on iPhone only

3 stars for iPhone and 0 star for iPad. On iPhone it works great. But on iPad it is not supported, the screen size is not native. Any plans to add iPad support? Used to use My Chart on iPad but now My Chart is no longer supported.

By

Nice but with issues

The billing system is odd. It only shows each bill separately but does not show you the current balance.

By

Helpful app but…

That would be excellent except that it does not have landscape view. I am bedridden and use a stand for my iPad and it is virtually impossible for it to be used in portrait mode.
