Had a paid account @ tutanota under sundayr@redacted that I can not access since you changed from tutanota to tut. Can not recover my account. I put in a alternative email, and no recovery access code is ever sent to it. I had not changed any information. You make it extremely frustrating to get any kind of help. Please advise how I can access my account, and delete it. I have business emails that I have not been able to access in a very long time.

I desperately need help! Two days ago I found that I can not log in to my email account steve.handy@redacted. I have since tried to contact Tutanota using my work email, steve@redacted, as well as through the Tutanota Facebook page and Reddit (r/Tutanota) ad have not yet heard directly from anyone. On December 14, 2022 my credit card was charged 12.81. I did not sign up for a Tutanota account as I wanted to wait for a security issue to be resolved on my computers before I added email addresses that would only be hacked. Those hacking me might use one of my email addresses on a card they also hacked the password on. I would like to talk to your billing department to clear this up. I have no way to login to cancel the account you say I have. I have put the only email address I have but they have hacked or hijacked all three. I simply do not want to incur more charges on my credit card. IF you believe that I made this purchase, I need some confirmation of the name on the account, the email address used and the purchase. Basically, I need a receipt for the transaction. The email address I entered here was hijacked and unusable for 6 months in the last half of 2022. I have access now but they will likely hack it again so please respond quickly.

I accidentally clicked the link to terminate my subscription. NOW, after I could not reach ANY customer service I want to terminate my account. I only opened it two days ago. The only answer I got to anything was how to reset my password and after 3 tries and it telling me password is OK, it kept not allowing login due to invalid credentials. The price is right but when you give NO SERVICE to customers, ANY price, even a penny, it too high. Therefore, I am requesting a refund and going up the list to your competitor that has excellent customer service. You can redact my email address or not because I will never be back.

Hello, I have a problem, some trading scammers are using my name and my email to trade. I don't want somebody else using my details to make money - can I please change the name of my email so I can continue to use my account? I need help. I see others have had some problems too. I just want an email that no-one else can use. It seems you have had some change in policies. So I suspect I will have to lose my records. I am on low income and I am 61 years old. I don't understand how these things happen, and I want to be able to use my email, but will need to change the email address in order to prevent these people using my personal information. I don't understand how people overseas can get details from anywhere to create accounts. I am very stressed and hope you can tell me if I can just change the name of my email, and if not, what amount of money is needed to have an account with you. If it is dear I will have to change service. I do have health & memory problems, so it would be easier talking over the phone. I am in South Australia.

1st time ever setting up an account and it notified me based on ISP address that I couldn't establish an account due to abuse based on ISP. As soon as I use VPN, this account was approved. Make noticed, There are several people using this ISP! Not right at all. ISP internet service provider

Good afternoon, Dear tutanota team. I not receive the emails from CoinMetro app. That make me cannot login. I would like to confirm something. Is possible than from some reason tutanota provider start block that messages? Would You like to check are emails blocked on Your side? The email adres of sender is hello@redacted The email topic is "New Login to Your CoinMetro Account Detected!" The emails was received quite well all the time till few days ago. Contacts names deleted and can’t save them- drafts won’t delete

I have had tutanota for a month. Unable to add contact name next to my saved email contacts - I’ve tried a few times and clicked “Save” when logged into desktop and through the app. I am now unable to delete my drafts, too, when logged into the desktop tutanota mail (I have the paid version), and I am a little nervous about that, and the fact I’m unable to save any contact names. I have plenty of storage. I switched my entire business over to this email client after over a decade with Gmail- I didn’t even transfer anything over. Tutanota saved all my contacts names fine before until recently, but now they’re gone, including the inability to delete drafts when I click the trash can icon to delete.. What is the deal here?!?! I have updated everything and brand new everything- please fix this. I would’ve rated 5 stars before, but now I don’t know what is happening. Thanks -

Steals location without prompt

This app will literally steal your location without asking for it. How? If you have the Compass Calibration location service enabled under Settings-Privacy-Location Services-System Services (at the very bottom), then the app will access your location upon launch. This is evident by the location arrow that appears in the status bar (if you have the setting enabled) when the app is launched. Not sure why an encrypted email app needs to know anyone’s location, and more importantly why it steals it behind users’ backs instead of using the standard location permissions API and asking the user if they allow access to location. Very sneaky and underhanded. Not sure I trust this app with my supposedly encrypted emails any more. Shame on Tutanota and shame on Apple for allowing any app to access user location without asking for permission first using the compass calibration location setting.

This is honestly the worst iOS app.

First, the search doesn’t work properly even on the latest iPhone or iPad Pro. It hasn’t worked properly for over a year. Searching requires an “indexing” process, which is represented by a UI which doesn’t tell you how far things are and doesn’t make you aware that it tends to freeze without warning. I’ve let it “index” for a week to no avail, just to be sure it was broken.

Next, there’s no way to export your mail from them. So, if you want to make a backup then that’s too bad for you. If their service goes down, your emails are 100% gone. Unfortunately, it does go down and has happened a few times this year already.

The app constantly freezes, presenting an error that an “Unknown Error Occurred”. This doesn’t close the app, but your actions will fail to work until you restart it manually. At which time, it often fails again.

Ignoring all of these complaints, this mail app provides a lesser mail experience than any competitor I’ve seen. The UI is essentially a poorly built, janky web app which fails repeatedly and doesn’t feel trustworthy.

If their UI is of this quality, then I imagine their security is broken somewhere in the same way.
