Blocks internet access for other apps

I did not experience the slowdown of browsing, widely reported by many other users. However, when connected to this app, some connections simply don’t work at all. Most notably, Apple App Store, when it can’t search for apps and can’t update the apps. Another app is LG SmartSync - it can’t connect to their servers.
There is a remedy however. Your home router most like had not one but two connections, one for 5 GHz, another for 2. Configure this app app for one of them; whenever this app is blocking your connection, switch your phone to use another one. Don’t forget to switch back.
I tried to report this problem to this app tech support, but did not receive any response at all. By all signs it’s outsourced, so not a big surprise. I also reported this to Apple.

Internet access lagging or blocked completely.

I enjoy having the this app mobile app on my devices, the only issue is on my phone certain other apps won’t work unless I turn this app off and I have the same issue with certain websites. But otherwise I don’t even think about it, it just does what it does and I earn rewards for my everyday routine.

OMG fix your ish

I have been doing this app for a very long time. I got a new phone, the iPhone 12, and I have been having problems with my account through this app not only on my phone but on my iPad and on my computer as well. I do not use chrome, I use Safari which is unfortunately mot supported by you guys...☹️ I'm trying to get both of my devices activated again I don't know what to do about my computer but I do want both my iPhone and my iPad active again. Every time I try to login the captcha throws an error and won't let me sign into the website through Safari and it does not recognize my device even though I added it already to my account, Nielsen refuses to accept that information. Please advise as I would like to continue to earn points by being me.

Not impressed with this app

Nielsen is a waste of time I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody you go through all the problem to sign up and install Nielsen and then you can’t get into your account I thought my app was working for the last two weeks and it hasn’t been because apparently there’s two check-in‘s and they don’t let you know that I talk to customer service I did what they told me to do when I still can’t get into my app I am not very happy with it I wouldn’t recommend Nielsen to other people but that’s on you

iPhone13

iPhone 13 wasn’t listed in the registration process; the newest iPhone listed is iPhone 12. The registration process wouldn’t let me register my iPhone 13; only my iPad is currently registered. Is there any way to register my iPhone 13? Thank you.

Don't waste your time

This apo is ridiculous and doesn't work. Plus it blocks your iPhone apos feom updating. I get more passive income from Facebook viewpoints and iftt then this qpp and wuth no side effects. If you uave Nielsen on aby device and/or your computer. I highly recommend uninstalling it and wipe your hands clean.

Nice app

I have had Nielsen on my phone for several years, and it’s an easy way to earn rewards. If there is one drawback, it’s that sometimes I get messages that Nielsen isn’t connected, and I have to open it so it will reconnect. I don’t know if that’s a glitch on my end or on neilsen’s. But overall, Nielsen is a great way to earn rewards without doing much.

Ugh!

I was not able to use my phone and Nielsen wont stay open on my other device and it keep saying my account is inactive. After they sent me points.

Do not bother you let them collect your info for free. Support won’t even answer been a few weeks and I can’t even sign into my account keep saying account not active thats not true really. Im very upset.

By

Real

Does this actually give 50$ dollars for real

By

Not usable

Literally every time I have it active, it blocks 100% of all apps access to the internet.

By

Disaster

Nielsen is TERRIBLE, they barely give you ANY POINTS! Your whole phone is gonna start slowing down and just out right not working as should! DO JOT DOWNLOAD Nielsen!! I’ve warned you all

By

Doesn’t work

App doesn’t even launch. 1 star from me

By

Scam

App uses a lot of battery and “rewards” are minimal

It’s the best

I love how I can earn rewards just by having it on my device. I especially love that I don’t have to read a bunch of emails or sign up for anything or purchase anything in order to earn. I just wish I could earn the rewards faster. I would also like to add I’ve been a member since October 2014 I have Nielsen and use it on my iPad when I first installed it I noticed it did seem to slow my device down. Then I found that my device wasn’t slowing down because I was running Nielsen in the background it was running slow because of all the other apps I had been using were still running in the background not to mention all the web history and data from my web browsing just like on a computer every once in a while you have to clear out the cache and remove the junk files. So for those who claim Nielsen caused their device to slow down try shutting down apps running in the background. Clearing out your web browser history, try deleting some of the past text messages you have stored on your device because it’s easier

Lame Carrier Support

The Mobile Rewards (for Apple phones at least) seems to only support AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint! Really stupid. I have a brand new iphone SE, the 2nd gen/2020 (and i still have a 5C, 5S’s, and 1st gen SE’s), but i use Straight Talk/TFW. I previously had Sprint, so now it makes sense why the Mobile Rewards stopped working for me a few years ago. 😒🙄 The ‘major’ carriers are too expensive, and don’t work any better than the cheaper stuff (i live in a rural area). I’m part of a few other research panels, and none of those care about Who provides your phone service, only about your Device/Data Usage!!
I have a ~10 year old laptop for the this app ‘Computer’ rewards and that’s fine.. Just doesnt make sense to me. —— Oh, and i Joined this crap in 2016. All you get for a ‘connected computer’ is Sweepstakes entries. I still have old emails where i contacted “Customer Support” and it Sucked back then too! (My issue was NEVER Resolved. My rewards most likely stopped working when i switched carriers, and that was never asked..) Seems the ‘Support’ hasnt improved much after reading the recent reviews.

Screwed up my cellular and wifi

I used the old vpn app on my iphone 6. I just upgraded to an iphobe 7 and tried setting it up fresh on this device, but after installing the wifi and cellular device managers it totally killed my cellular connection and I couldn't use wifi in some apps either. Nielsen 's "leave panel" button kept saying it couldn't be removed. Great. I fixed it by going to setting > general > device management and deleting the two nielson installations, and when that wasn't enough i went to settings > general > reset > reset network settings. It rebooted my phone, and now I have to add all my wifi network passwords for home, work, etc, but my phone appears to be working properly again. Next step would've been factory resetting. Stay away from this service until they get their $h!t together!

Yes, it IS That Bad

When I was giving Nielsen my WiFi password
last night I had a bad feeling. I should have listened to that feeling. I immediately noticed a dramatic drop in my Internet speed so I decided to uninstall Nielsen and forget the whole thing. I followed this app's uninstall instructions to delete their profile but that wasn't enough. It seemed to be even worse today, to the point that my emails wouldn't even open. Thank goodness I found Espyke's review and suggestion to reset the network settings.(settings>general>reset>rest network settings) In my case it's my iPad that Nielsen messed up but the solution is the same. Thank you Espyke! If people have been complaining about this for the last four months then why hasn't it been fixed?

Not Compatible With All Carriers

There really should be a caution about not downloading Nielsen unless you are with the specific carriers Nielsen works with. I have Xfinity and since it uses Verizon I chose Verizon and had a nightmare of a time after losing my cellular data connection to Xfinity. Xfinity had no idea what was going on and it was only after I did a Google search that I found out how to restore my phone with Xfinity. If you have experienced the same thing go into Settings>General>Profiles and remove this app. I have nothing against Nielsen as I was never able to utilize it. As I stated I just wish there was a warning sign.

Easy to use

I’ve been with this app app for awhile and I have no complaints . It’s easy to download on your phone and had no issues there even with my new phone. I only had to contact support 1 time as couldn’t remember my password and they were great in a quick response and got me the help I needed. I have not cashed out on rewards yet as I’m letting it build. There’s nothing to do just use your phone and let the rewards begin to build.

Spotty access and no support

For the past week or so Nielsen has stopped working. My status says it is inactive and not earning any points. I have tried getting help through Nielsen and now through their website. There response was it will take 72 hours to respond. So now that puts me at two weeks on missing points. So frustrating.

Update 8/20: Even worse support, I have tried multiple times to have someone reach out to me over three weeks ago. My app and my this app account says my device is active, yet I can’t log into my own account to redeem or check points. So what are you keeping my points from me? Highly disappointing for a this app branded app.

Unprofessional company

I have attempted to sign up with this on 4 different emails. Each time awaiting your responses to ask me things I already clearly told you. Only to finally be told after 7 days the email would no longer work. Even though I clearly stated I clicked the link and set the account up. Not one time did you ever ask me what sort of device I was using. I had to figure it out on my own that an iPhone 6 is not a compatible device. Absolutely asinine. You should be asking that. Even when I get my new device next week I won’t be signing up with your panel after this headache. Try being a bit more professional.

I am finally just.. annoyed.

I have downloaded this stupid app so many times. Why do you people even have iMacs, iPhones, and iPads as options if they aren’t “eligible”? No matter what, when, why or how -my devices are: “Not Eligible” It makes no sense. How is it that iPhone users are installing your stuff, benefiting from it, and leaving reviews? My phone was brand NEW the first time I attempted to use your software. I jump around from site to app trying to join, and nope! I guess I’m just not invited to the party. Oookay then. Well you get one crappy little star from me, as I am forced to leave SOMETHING. There should be a negative star for situations like this. Or maybe a 👎.

Great Company, buuuuut....

Nielsen is a great idea, BUT do NOT download it! The moment you download Nielsen , your phone’s performance is slower than a turtle. My internet, my social media, EVERYTHING is very slow. My phone is brand new and it should definitely not be this slow. I have contacted customer support and they say they forwarded my email to tech support but we shall see. They also said my data wasn’t being transmitted either and I had Nielsen for a while before I sent the email. These issues have been going on for months according to the reviews, so I doubt it will be fixed. This is surprising because this company is great.

Great easy way to earn rewards

this app is a great company and there app is a very easy way to earn rewards and it’s not confusing. Just download Nielsen and within a few months of having it on your device you will already have enough points to start getting gift cards or other various rewards you can cash out your points with.

Nielsen

Full disclaimer: this app paid me $5 to leave this review. Nielsen is fine; it doesn’t really slow down my iPad as far as I can tell and I occasionally rack up rewards. I set it up when I was in between jobs to help me feel like I was doing something useful, however meager the rewards may be, and now that I’m working it’s not a bother so I’ve left it up and running.

By

You get rewards for doing nearly nothing

I figured, since data is collected on almost everything we do online now anyway, why not get s reward for it?! This runs unnoticed in the background. Every month or two you get an email telling you that you’ve earned rewards points. Go to the site and redeem them. Simple!

By

Do not get app

Install app as part of a paid survey. Didn’t trust app so I did my research and they pretty much track what apps you use. Decided to uninstall and you first have to delete your device from Nielsen , app would not give me option to delete went to the website and Nielsen made my data SUPER slow. Tried logging in in different phone and it kept saying password was incorrect tried resetting it and I wouldn’t get the email. After about 2 hours of trying to delete account from app I just decided to delete Nielsen from my phone.

Absolute garbage for support/customer service

I’ve reached out to support countless times trying to regain access to my account and redeem my reward points. I’ll get a generic response maybe 1 out of 10 times. I have quite a few reward points racked up after letting Nielsen run for close to a year but now since I reset my password the site is telling me that my account is not active and I have no points. I’ve been trying to get this resolved with support but have had zero luck even getting them to respond or acknowledge my issue.

Stay away

Don’t install! Besides Nielsen it routes all of your info through a proxy. Taking all of your info and slowing down everything. If you do uninstall, make sure you manually remove the profile and proxy their software sets up and doesn’t fix. If you don’t, you’ll still be passing info and having slow speeds. Edit: after doing all of this to remove it, it is still showing active with the current date in their site. You need to wipe your phone to completely remove. Nielsen needs to be reported.

BEWARE!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD

Nielsen will bring your phones data & WiFi speed down to a CRAWL, absolutely horrible!! Spent 3 days trying trying to figure out what’s wrong with my iPhone X, 2 trips to Sprint, and a trip to Apple store which is where they discovered the problem. Not only did I have to remove it, I had to completely reset the phone to factory default because Nielsen will get so embedded into your iOS that just removing Nielsen won’t fix it, this is basically a VIRUS. Apple store employee told me Nielsen shouldn’t even be allowed in Nielsen Store. STAY AWAY FROM THIS NIGHTMARE OF AN APP.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD

I used to do the paper & pencil surveys for this app. When I saw the one for the computer panel, I said why not. After downloading Nielsen , the program didn’t work and kept sending me back to the sign up page. Nielsen has made my phone run very SLOW! I removed it and the certificates, but none of my devices work the same. I wish I would’ve read all the ratings first. I think once they have your WiFi and password they install bots and spiders. I think it’s time for an FBI investigation and a class action lawsuit. DO NOT DOWNLOAD You’ve been warned!

Causes my browser to hang up and stays like that indefinitely whenever their VPN is enabled, causing the app to be unusable when using a browser. The only time I can leave it on is when using apps only.
