Switcher Studio Video Platform Reviews

Just used the trial version to use 5 feeds to stream high quality video of our school’s Xmas music concert to Facebook. I was extremely impressed. I’m suspicious that those who report connectivity issues or unreliable connections are working with inadequately provisioned WiFi environment/AP. Your going to need a good Access Point that isn’t bogged down with other devices for this to work well. But we had zero connectivity issues and great results with 5 feeds on a Ubiquiti HD Access point dedicated to the task. The software was intuitive and powerful. I loved the pre-made animation and graphic templates. They were easy and looked great. Some more capability in terms of custom design here would be a nice feature to add in the future. Only other thing I’d really like to see added is the ability to connect an HDMI or other camera source via a hardware partnership. Also the ability to add an RTSP source would be really nice. Overall really impressed with this. I suspect we’ll be buying a subscription at the end of our trial.

I started a little podcast out of my little store, in my little town. It was just about things going on around the area. It’s called Around Pickens if you want to check it out. About 6 month into it, I added a web cam and started doing FB live along with recording the audio. A friend started cohosting with me to add some friendly banter, then we started looking at adding an additional camera. WE found Switcher! That was September of last year. Since then, we have added $2k/month in local advertising revenue, but the best part is how many people started asking us how to do what we were doing.... fast forward to May, even during the COVID-19 stuff, we signed a lease for a 3 room studio, and now have 14 other shows that are renting space and equipment from us to create their own shows..... When we max out the rental space, we’ll be making over $500k, that’s not counting all of the live streaming events we do! All thanks to this one little app.

Well I really love SwitcherStudioVideoPlat, but paying $30 a month for a limited user like myself is hard to stomach. I actually think I only used it live a couple of times in the year I was subscribed. While this is obviously not a problem of switcher studios, It just makes it hard to justify it. I wish there was a single purchase price and maybe a minor monthly fee. The system itself is well thought out with not too many confusing bells and whistle‘s to get in the way. I’ve used it with an apple router that I take along with me and had great luck. I also use six of the DJI Osmo units and the control is very simple. I rarely broadcast live so I can’t speak to the ability to live stream so much, but as a way to capture Multi camera video for editing later in FCPX it’s fantastic.

I’ve been using Switcher Studio for about four years now and it has transformed the entire way that I do business. I travel to create live-streamed videos with nonprofits around the U.S., and because of the simplicity and efficiency of Switcher Studio I’m able to create broadcast-quality, edited productions in real-time using equipment that can be transported in a backpack — or even a pocket. The Switcher Studio team has also fostered an incredibly tight and supportive global community on social media that shares ideas both with one another and directly with the development team, who are always listening; I’ve had multiple ideas implemented into SwitcherStudioVideoPlat over the years. Simply put, Switcher is the most important app on my iOS devices. It is mission critical to the work that I do, and if you’re looking to step up your live-streaming video approach, it should be to yours, too.

Switcher Studio is a great app, would 100% recommended it to anyone, it has multiple viewing angles, you could put in pre-recorded videos, transitions, etc. By using the free trial version it’s something I would use. But, the pricing is NOT okay. It’s outrageous, for the plus monthly version, it’s $350 a month! With that money you could just by a decent laptop and stream with Streamlabs OBS, which does way more things that this. Even with cheapest version, it would be about $500 a year, a year that’s not too bad, but like I said, you could just get a laptop for that price, get a capture card or use the Streamlabs app and mirror your screen. Switcher Studio should do something like Cinamaker. They have a completely free version but with a bunch of restrictions. For example on the free version, you’re only allowed to have 3 screens at once, nothing more. And, you’re only allowed to have 5 images in total, and 1 or 2 pre recorded videos. With a full free version, not just a trial, many people would use SwitcherStudioVideoPlat.

I have used switcher since it was Reco LIVE 9 years ago or more.. I love SwitcherStudioVideoPlat like I love my momma.. I love my momma a lot.
Anyway.. I updated to the latest update and the sound cuts out when I am using Twitch, and on Periscope as well.. This is a problem. Also, The sound bar green light indicates the sound is working and I can hear it too.. Only the viewers hear nothing.. Remember, they hear it at first for maybe the 1st 30 seconds.. sometimes up to 5 mins.. but then it cuts out. Not sure why this happens.. I can see and hear the sound the whole while. When I play it back, the video doesn’t have the sound either where it cut out. Please fix this.. Also, it appears this is not happening in the IPHONE version of SwitcherStudioVideoPlat .. So far anyway.. I am using the latest update IOS 13.1.3 and a few days ago was using the latest before that. Using the Iphone 11 pro as well..

We have been live streaming weekly worship, daily devotional and special announcements since March. The only problem we have had is operator error. At first we assumed our internet speed was adequate. WRONG! Internet installed in church 10 years ago, low rate = low speed. Took three weeks to figure out. Should have used their excellent support. Since then, like I said, only fault was on our end. I now pre-record Sunday survice more often then not. Will go alive again when we are back in the sanctuary. The less you know about live streaming and more problems you will have. I have learned a great deal, would have saved time if I had just asked for help. The Facebook page set up for users is helpful as well. My advice. Keep It Simple at first if you are new to doing this stuff, don’t be afraid to ask for help, stick with Os operating system and you will be find.

It’s hard to justify the subscription. I’ve had to do some tweaking for stable set ups but there are so many issues to deal with on the back end it becomes hard for the target user demographic to afford. I had to buy a few items to make sure I have hardwire connection stability. For most that defeats the convenience. Not complaining so much as being realistic about the limitations. I use a Sling system for major productions and wanted this in my run and gun webcasting kit. Have also recommended to some other vendors on the community only to have a majority come back with the same concerns. Just a suggestion ... why not offer a tiered system? Maybe limit the multi cast points to 2 for a lower price. Technically it’s great for the casual user as well as semi professional. I’ll use it occasionally but can’t handle that monthly when I may only utilize it 3 to 5 times a year. I’d gladly give five stars once they give some more realistic user base consideration on pricing.

I signed up for switcher based on their marketing commercial that this would be an easy option for creating a high quality steaming option. I then had to find multiple
Workaround to get descent sound using external mics, a mixer a professional camera and more. I wanted this to work and spend 3 months trying to make it happen.

I hired two tech professionals to help me get this set up. Beware there is nothing about this that is easy! You would save money just using a professional to steer you away from this option. I spent over $2000

I finally contacted switcher and they set me up with a very nice person to help with my setup and sound issues. I spent 1.5 hours showing him my entire set up and going through multiple work around only to have him tell me that I needed more equipment or workarounds and they were trying to figure these issues out.

I was fine with this and thankful for their tech help. I asked them for a refund of the 3 months I spent figuring it out with no progress $120 and they refused this.

I have a small business myself and if anyone were to ever be unsatisfied with my product I would refund them with no question. I asked multiple times and they did not budge. I would never ever recommend this product or app. It’s completely terrible to have bad customer service in this day and age where we are all just trying to make things happen. I will post their terrible responses in another review from my cohost on the project.

This is my daily driver for recording and creating assists for church and other recording events. One cam, two cam, three cams... I wish I had four. Record in sync and great quality. From time to time I have issues and may have to restart SwitcherStudioVideoPlat , WiFi or a device or two. But SwitcherStudioVideoPlat has awaken the creative side of me. Even with the issues this is the best camera switching app I have seen on the market for the price.

Why not 5 stars...because I want a Apple Watch camera control app to control the cameras so I can leave my stationary cameras use my portable camera. And when I get to the spot I want to show, use the camera control app to switch to the remote cam and then back to the other stations.

Switcher Studio is a fantastic live-streaming app for networked iOS devices. My one quibble is that, for $300 per year, I would greatly appreciate the flexibility to add a DSLR or camcorder to the mix using the RecoLive software on my Mac. As far as I can tell, Switcher does not recognize some, or perhaps any, video sources running into a Mac - for example, a camcorder connected to the Mac with a Blackmagic Shuttle or Mini Recorder. I think that the $300 annual subscription price is fair, given the functions, ease of use and support that you get with Switcher Studio, yet I can’t help feeling as if enabling non-iOS devices connected to the same network wouldn’t add enormous value to Switcher and its capabilities.

Like many others, I purchased Switcher Studio for my church to begin live streaming when covid shut us down. It’s been very intuitive. The first week we were up and running albeit with a few glitches. After 4 services, we were really doing a professional job. What makes this a five (for me) instead of a four, is that virtually any problem or question I had was answered rapidly by the switcher enthusiasts user group; amazing, experienced folks that helped me with audio as well as switcher related stuff. Btw. Or online attendance is now higher than our in person attendance was; we’ll never stop streaming.

So on this past week I used your app for a huge conference. I instantly fell in love with with all the features and the idea of “switching”. I am not a videographer or photographer but my team and I were able to use this is no time. Out of no where the system would crash. In the beginning, we believed it to be the internet server that we used but it wasn’t. We had people to pay for the online version for the conference and they were not able to receive what they paid for. The moment we disconnected for. Switched and went directly to Facebook live, we did not have any issues. We desire to pay for the service but we do not want to pay $300 a year for an app when it isn’t reliable. Why does the system shut down and not connect the way that it should?!? Does it disconnect because we are in the trial period?!

We testing it with 4 iphone and it run smoothly for about 12 minutes live on facebook with standard quality (not even HD quality) then one of the camera frozen which was used on the switcher as handheld camera to move around (not remote camera). I guess SwitcherStudioVideoPlat have bug or the phone cant handle both (camera and switcher at the same time). I saw people use it without a problem and I used the IphoneX as a switcher since IphoneX is the newest and the most powerful iphone.

I love all others thing SwitcherStudioVideoPlat give us. Its awasome. I hope they design more lower thirds and animated backgrounds and the feature I can add background music too.

Hey there, I just downloaded it and using with iPhone 7+ and at first seemed great but then the comments weren’t coming in and viewers told me that they couldn’t hear well at first and that comments seemed to be disabled and users couldn’t click on certain buttons pertaining to Facebook while watching the video. Could this be because I’m running off of data and not WiFi? I want to give my viewers the best possible broadcast as I do an online ministry and it’s dependent upon people’s comments because we pray for healing and miracles and instant feedback is vital! Please let me know what I can do to best serve the viewers. Also I’m running it off of one phone not multiple cameras. Thanks!

SwitcherStudioVideoPlat is like a television studio on your phone/tablet. It is also intuitive for people who have no idea what they are doing (like me). Plus whenever I want it todo something, turns out it can. For example, I wanted to show a PowerPoint and turns out a little piece of software downloaded to a laptop can give Switcher access to whatever is on the screen of your laptop (or whatever is captured in the lens of the FaceTime camera.
In short SwitcherStudioVideoPlat gives you everything you need to produce an engaging video...now all you have to do is find something interesting to shoot!

The latest update as of October 3 needs to have the audio monitoring fixed. The sound from the audio monitoring is so light I can barely hear anything that’s coming through to better mix my live stream without it peaking out. In the updates previous to this latest version I able to hear clearly the audio from the audio monitoring without it have to peak out to hear it. If you can fix that audio monitoring issue that would make my life as a sound tech so much easier! Thank you!

I’ve been using Switcher since 2015, although technically it was called RecoLive back then. This is truly a wonderful tool. The folks at Switcher have worked hard to give users what they ask for. If you’re new to Switcher, give it some time and give yourself some time too. You learn as you go and with that knowledge (and new equipment as you can get it, because it took us a while and we’re still adapting), eventually you’ll grow your stream into something you’re happy with. SwitcherStudioVideoPlat was great all the way up and to the point that it stopped working I know it’s not my phone because several different apps that do the same thing work as well I am stuck at the home screen so I am unable to actually ask for help. SwitcherStudioVideoPlat says that my camera is unavailable and to go to my settings but all of my settings are enabled SwitcherStudioVideoPlat is broken. This is actually very disappointing because I use my phone as the switcher in my iPad as a second monitor but now I must use my iPad as a Switcher and wait and not have a camera angle on me that I would like it says up to eight devices but that’s totally not true if I can’t even enabled the settings if this is a broken and needs a update please let me know

Good luck reaching someone for support. This program came highly recommended by a member of my industry. Signed up for the free trial, but couldn’t get the devices to work. Probably something wrong on my end, right? I scoured the FAQ and help pages, did everything I could, still couldn’t get it to work. I reached out for assistance the only way I was able to, by messaging the chat on their website. It’s been 2 days and I’ve heard nothing. No other way to contact them for support. I’d bet that a 10 minute phone call for even text convo would have solved my problem. If you can’t get real time support for a program like this, don’t bother signing up. I was excited to try this out. Really disappointing.

I give it 4 star because you missed one big future.
The best and huge future you missed in SwitcherStudioVideoPlat is stream with iPhone screen/Record with iOS screen/ screen record.
SwitcherStudioVideoPlat will be better and will be the only and best app because if you add this feature you can add overlay and intro in the stream it like you streaming with PC but it only in one app. It like stream with OBS.
Hopefully you add this future and add donate that pup up in the screen and add PayPal

I’m needing a video switcher to record live Sunday mornings at church and stream it like be through Facebook. I’m in my second day of trial and just testing it out before Sunday, there is too many interruptions. The signal drops, broadcasting stops and go. If I go live and record for 30 minutes is fine, more then 30 minutes it stops and goes. I want my live stream to last at least 2 hours. Is this because I’m on the free trial? Would it get better? I’m nervous paying $300 plus a year if this is going to happen. Can you please let me know if this is going to be be fixed? Other then that I have no problems. I like SwitcherStudioVideoPlat .
