First, The Bad:
CTLegacyVersion is fragile, often crashes and too much human error. We (customers) can add wines, which is cool, but it has lead to multiple versions of the same wines. That leads to less accurate data on ratings, price and “drink by” dates. I also don’t love that consumers can edit the drink by dates. I like wine, no a little bit, but would love for a sommelier, or someone more knowledgeable to tell me when the wine should be drank.
The Good:
The fact that you can take a photo of the label and it finds the wine (usually) is amazing. Also, when a wine isn’t there you simply send an email and they add it super fast.
I do like that they take average prices in to account, can add to where you’re storing (wine fridge vs. wine rack, and where you drank it. I also enjoy the friend feature. I like to peruse what my pals have stored so I can tell them we should drink their (insert nice bottle) when we have dinner together.
Overall, it’s free and easy to use. I think they’ll continue to update and it will get better.
Tip: I donated some money to get the Premium version, and it didn’t seem to have a ton of perks. So if you expect more, you don’t get too much more.
