slow to update

2022-05-22

This is a commercial app, so the developer probably doesn’t care too much about BlackBerryWork rating, since it is very difficult for the user (company) to change vendors. However, over the long run, if this doesn’t improve, I hope companies take the feedback from the users (us) to switch to a better email system (office?). So the best thing to do is to complain to you IT folks, in addition to writing reviews!

IOS update last week, the majority of apps had day 1 updates to be compatible with IOS. Why was the last update for BlackBerryWork a month ago??? This is not a free app, it’s a commercial app that is very important to users. Please fix this! I also have the external keyboard lag issue.

Notifications suddenly stopped

2022-06-23

I’ve used BlackBerryWork with no problems for 2-3 months then overnight my notifications stopped working. I tried everything to get them back but nothing worked. I see that several people have had this issue, has this ever been resolved?? BlackBerryWork is unusable without proper notifications.

Notifications work but can’t open to read emails

2022-07-24

Been happening for a month now, idk if it was from an update but I’m definitely logged in and getting email notifications even with titles showing up but can’t actually open and read them, it just keeps asking me to login and spins forever and just errors out.

Log out issues

2022-08-25

Literally the worst app I’ve used. Randomly locked out even though the password is correct. Then that locks me out of my work account which is another huge issue. I’ve reset my password no less than 50 times (not an exaggeration) in the last month.

When it works, it works fine but, when it doesn’t it’s a nightmare. I would NOT recommend. If you have to use it good luck.

Hours with tech support & it still doesn’t work

2022-09-26

This rating should be 0 Stars. After downloading BlackBerryWork 3 weeks ago (and about 10 deletions, reinstalls, installing on 2 additional devices, with WiFi , without WiFi, etc), BB Work will not open. Each time, I receive an error message that the connection failed. It would be great to get work email on my phone. Evidently it won’t be with BlackBerryWork.

Touch ID implementation failure

2022-10-27

The latest Blackberry “feature” is BlackBerryWork now, I assume, times out versus closing itself as I find the next time you reopen it it goes straight to requesting your special password (yes the PITA one) versus prompting you for touch ID or Face ID input. So you have to close BlackBerryWork and restart it to get to the friendlier ways to open BlackBerryWork . Corporate email administrators find a better choice than BlackBerryWork. It is terrible and is getting worse.

Work slow to respond while typing with iPadOS 14

2022-11-28

It is extremely difficult to type email (perhaps more) while using Work. BlackBerryWork responds extremely slowly while typing—meaning that frequently I will have finished typing a long sentence while the display is working the 2nd word. I have not observed this problem outside of the Blackberry apps.

Worthless app that somehow only gets worse

2022-12-29

Started getting the infamous lack of notifications glitch that many other reviewers have discussed. That causes real issues at my job because I’m on call 24/7 and responding to urgent emails 20 minutes late is unacceptable. In an attempt to solve the issue, I downloaded the most recent update. Now I can’t log on at all. I just see the blackberry work logo for a full minute and then BlackBerryWork crashes. Utterly baffling. Email apps are at the bottom of the totem pole in terms of technical complexity and yet BlackBerry still manages to screw it up. Excited for the company to go bankrupt.

Been decent but latest update ruined it

2023-01-30

It’s been decent with BlackBerryWork with enough capabilities and speed, but the recent update seems to have completely bricked BlackBerryWork . Email notifications come through, but you can’t see the preview anymore. Once you open BlackBerryWork , takes forever to load and show the content of the email. First thought it’s my employer who’s having issues with their server, but app is working who haven’t updated to latest version yet

Notifications are NOT working!

2023-03-03

I only have one basic function for BlackBerryWork...to display notifications for incoming email. Epic fail. Notifications stopped working the night I was on call and thought it was odd nothing was coming through. Luckily I checked manually and did not miss anything important. Uninstall/reinstall fixed it for a while, now the same problem is back and the fix I did last time is it working! All settings are correct. PLEASE FIX THE ASAP!!!!!

“The Request Timed Out”

2023-04-01

If you’re ok with the above phrase, then BlackBerryWork is for you! You will see this message over and over again even if you have 4 bars on your phone. BlackBerryWork is so bad and so slow to respond, that productivity suffers greatly by just wanting to open the application, if it opens at all. If that weren’t bad enough, someone at Blackberry thought it was a good idea to put a cartoon type party scene (complete with a saxophone player and two people dancing) with the message “The request timed out” only to add salt to the wound of frustration. Flee BlackBerryWork...

Why can't you view your own emails?

2023-05-03

It is inexplicable to me why Blackberry has designed BlackBerryWork so that, when clicking the up and down arrows to scroll through an email chain, not only does it skip right past the emails that you have sent, it's impossible to view them as the main email you're looking at in the chain. This ridiculous oversight means that if I ever want to reopen something I've sent that someone has replied to, I have to exit the main chain in my inbox, navigate all the way to "sent mail" and find it there. Shoddy design all around.

It should be better

2023-06-03

I’ve been using Blackberry Work for years. Prior to that I used actual Blackberry devices. Honestly they were great, in 2008. But then they stopped developing. I get that it’s secure and companies have the architecture, but the email client tool is so so. The search function is very good but that’s it. Tasks are awful, calendar is ok. Shouldn’t we able to expect a better suite by now? Why don’t they give up and sell to MicroSoft. It would be so much better to use office. Again not great but better. Even better would be if Apple bought them. It’s time for this relic to vanish.

Email stopped working with last update otherwise great app

2023-07-05

I have used BlackBerryWork with much success for 6 years through my company. I heavily rely on the email. Unfortunately the latest release 2 days ago broke my ability to pull email from apple iphone. Uem controls in place, no changes. Work starts loops a bit then closes. I still at least get calendar notifications.
4/18 still broken for a week

No Longer Receiving Push Notifications

2023-08-05

I have been using BlackBerryWork for about 1.5 years now and it has been working fine. However, recently, Blackerry Work has stopped providing me with push notifications.

My company IT is useless, but after reading some of the reviews on here, it may be a Blackberry Work app issue and not an IT problem.

Fix this ASAP.

Slow as pond water

2023-09-06

God forbid you delete something that you didn’t mean to or want to review something you just sent.... BlackBerryWork literally takes hours to update delete and sent files. It’s maddening and I would not use BlackBerryWork unless like my company does, somebody forces you to

Password issues

2023-10-08

I was forced to change my password and have not been able to sign back in since. When I “forgot password” it prompts an access key from my work email, and the key provided does not work. Why can’t Work be like every other app on my iPhone and either allow password saving or to use a third party Authenticator like Google? One headache after another.

Slow

2023-11-08

This used to work fast, had no problem starting up and getting latest emails and calendar updates. Few months ago it started being very slow, and it’s getting worse. Very long time to connect, and it reconnects every time you return to it after briefly going to another app like zoom. Please fix! Used to be 5 star, it was a lifeline.

Email no longer works

2023-12-10

App automatically closes when I open it to view email. Can no longer access my business email. I saw other reviews fir the same thing. I hope this will be corrected soon.

Typing lag with the introduction of iOS 14

2024-01-10

Love BlackBerryWork but the latest iOS update causes the typing on the ipad pro with the magic keyboard to be way out of sync. I am usually done typing and have to wait for the text on screen to catchup. This is not the case in any of the other apps. Kindly address with an updated app!

I Wish I Could Give 0 Stars

2024-12-16

Whose back did Blackberry scratch to worm their way back into the corporate realm with a product like this? My phone has not been right ever since the transition from Good. It took two days just to load, then hours to complete the clunky setup. Since then, the battery life on my phone is abysmal, the sync with Outlook is inconsistent, and it demands my password all the live long day. And it’s quite a coincidence that after having this phone for three years, just a couple of weeks after getting Blackberry I have an OS glitch resulting in my phone becoming disabled. Since this isn’t my personal phone, I couldn’t just plug it into iTunes for a reset, so I had to wait a week for Apple to “verify my identity” before I could get back in. And I’m off to contact the help desk because after everything I did just to get my phone back to baseline, Blackberry got wiped AGAIN, and I need an unlock key. This is total bull. If Blackberry wants to stay in business, why can’t they just stop sucking??!!

Poor implementation of a BYOD app

2024-12-16

Maybe it's how it is put into production at your particular place of work but I've found this application to be a kludgy attempt at delivering a much needed service for a corporate user. 1) I can't turn off notifications on my device without completely disabling BlackBerryWork , 2) why on earth does the UEM Client have to run simultaneously with the Work app? Just adds to battery drain (I suppose) and adds yet one more app running in background on my phone that's as useful as a 6th toe. 3) useless biometric login - even though I have fingerprint authentication enabled BlackBerryWork requires I manually enter a password every time I open or after a few hours of not using. 4) by default I can't access applications outside of the Blackberry environment via Work (e.g. Safari or Webex). My guess is this is a veiled attempt to get corporate users to stop using mobile devices as a cost saving measure . Really a huge step backwards from the Good app.

Terrible email experience

2024-12-16

BlackBerryWork is just terrible. Frequent crashes. No ability to search calendar. Unlike the iPhone version, the iPad version has no setting to turn-off auto-advance to the next message when you file/delete a message. This totally breaks workflow if you don’t want to read emails in sequential order. Why would the developer have completely different behaviors on iPhone/iPad version? Also, while you can specify how many days worth of email to download, BlackBerryWork NEVER cleans up used memory meaning that if you get a lot of email, BlackBerryWork eventually expands to fill your entire device. You’d think that setting BlackBerryWork to download only 2 weeks of email would keep only 2 weeks of email on the device and recycle the memory...but you’d be wrong. Unless you have to use BlackBerryWork for work (like I do), run as fast as you can.

Ruins iPad Pro Functionality

2024-12-16

I’ll add my voice to the other complaints that if BlackBerryWork is running in the background, you can barely even swipe to another page of apps. The lag is astounding. Having installed BlackBerryWork just a few days after getting my brand new super-powered iPad Pro, I was horrified to discover the effect and was worried there was something wrong with the device. Now that I know what it is, I’m just profoundly annoyed that I have to force quit BlackBerryWork every single time I use it in order to make this very expensive and very powerful piece of technology work at all. Developers should be working on a fix ASAP. The idea that the iPad Pro would have an easier time editing 4K video than swiping to the home screen with BlackBerryWork in the background says everything you need to know about the disastrous programming here.

Pure garbage

2024-12-16

BlackBerryWork and its sibling "Blackberry Access" are pure garbage. They're so buggy and full of inadequacies, eg simple conveniences and features that one would normally expect but are missing. For instance, in the calendar, you would think you could just click on an hour row in the day view and create an appointment on that time. Instead, it just does nothing at all. You have to click the create button, and the appointment time is defaulted to today's date and the current time, so even though you scrolled to the date you want to make the appointment on, it's started out at today's date and if it's 11 PM, you have to be careful to scroll back to the right time in the AM. So ridiculous and would be so easy to implement little things like that. Pure laziness or lack of care for quality.

Terrible Application.

2024-12-16

I have to log in every time I need to use the application, which is very inefficient. The notifications sometimes notify me with the email Subject and the sender, but most of the time just alert me with "email received." Which is very frustrating because then I have to log into my account to see what the email is. I get quite a few company-wide emails that are unimportant at the moment and have to go through this clunky process to see what the email is about to see if it is important. I wish I didn't have to use BlackBerryWork for my work. Google works every time and has always been amazing. Also, it does not sync with my email. So if I check my email on my computer it will not update on my phone until I log in and manually reload BlackBerryWork .

Constant problems from the IT side

2024-12-16

Let me start off by saying you have to set up all the features so they can work. Time consuming. Nooow getting BlackBerryWork installed and set up is tedious. Some users it’s easy going and then others I have to play a game on the phone. Will it install or will I have to reinstall and make sure everything is done in the correct order. Which by the way walking through a USER sometimes can be more of a pain to deal with then dealing with these issues. Another issue is people keep going off line but can send an email!? It’s not everyone, it’s spread out. I have to un install everything and then play that game again. GOOD WAS GOOD a flat GOOD but BlackBerry well it’s not any better if not worse. With that I’m off for a beer or 5 ✌️

DO NOT GET THIS APP

2024-12-16

GOOD definitely took 10 steps backwards with the Blackberry app suite. This is the worst app I have ever downloaded to my iPhone. My enterprise is currently testing BlackBerryWork and it is UNUSABLE. It takes an average of 2-3 minutes for email to update, with a maximum of 6 minutes one time; that is if you don’t have to close BlackBerryWork because it froze.

I dread having to switch between my calendar and mail - more times than not it freezes and again I have to close out. I have told my enterprise that because BlackBerryWork has so many performance issues and usability issues that we should not be moving forward with this and I have opted to switch back to GOOD messaging.

I honestly cannot believe BlackBerryWork suite was ever release.

Email alerts don’t work on iPhone X

2024-12-16

Since I purchased the iPhone X I have been having problems getting email alerts. At first it works then it stops working without changing any setting. The only way I can make it work again is to reinstall BlackBerryWork , and it works for 2-3 weeks then Stops again. I still get alerts for calendar events but not for emails. This is half of what BlackBerryWork is good for (to alert me of emails) so half dysfunctional (or functional).

And Now, WIth IOS 11.2.2, No Email Notifications

2024-12-16

I generally like BlackBerryWork. It has been fairly reliable and does what it needs to do, mostly. I accept that it is difficult connecting to so many different corporate systems. But now, with an update to IOS 11.2.2, my email notifications have stopped. I still get calendar notifications. I and others in the office that updated have the same problems. Others, that haven’t updated, don’t have the problem. Shame on Blackberry for not checking all IOS updates, and for not informing users about this problem. And for having absolutely no one to call, and now no message board either to contact. Oh, and for not answering anyone’s comments in the reviews.

I don’t see why users hate it so much.

2024-12-16

I’m a network admin that uses this service daily. Well installs, configures, and manages daily. I have no real issue with this bundle, users tend to hate it but I think that lies more along the line of the lack of ability to remember a password or other basic and simple instructions. The network admins are the ones who have to configure the server and get it installed on end point devices. I don’t know why the users complain that it’s the devs fault when it’s technically their IT department that’s lacking in the training of its use.

3.5/5 stars from me because listening to everyone complain makes it harder to work with.

P.S. if you want it to work let your IT department actually work with you and slow down while letting them show you what to do. 20 minutes to fix a problem is better than it not working for months.

Could use improvement but still not terrible

2024-12-16

I really do not have an issue with BlackBerryWork overall, but I do wish that on my iPad, I could find a way to make it where if I delete an email it does not automatically open the email underneath it. On my cell phone, I have no issues with this but I cannot seem to locate a way to do that on the iPad. Otherwise, I find it helpful to see mine and my executives calendar and the email on the go. The biggest downside is that I notice a lot of times my calendar does not update on the fly. I’ll get meeting notices, when the meeting has been canceled already for a couple of hours. Overall, it is still nicer than having to carry two phones.

Latest updates have fixed my gripes

2024-12-16

I originally gave BlackBerryWork 1 star because the performance on the iPad Pro was just abysmal, but over the last month or two (coincident with the release of iOS 13), performance is now what I would expect (I’m not sure if the performance issues were due to an iOS bug or a Blackberry Work bug, but regardless, it’s fixed!). Dark mode is fantastic. I really like the calendar widget. My only complaint at this point is the fact that the functionality is broken up between a number of apps that automatically switch between one another is a bit irritating, but it’s manageable.

Working similar to Good, except for attachments

2024-12-16

After transition, all contacts were there still and seemed to work very similarly to the Good app I was using the previous couple years. The biggest drawback is I can no longer attach pictures taken with my phone to an email. The folder containing photos on my phone is not available within BB Work. A loss of functionality is not what I anticipated when moving from Good to Work. I had no choice in the matter, so what can I do...
If you don’t try to attach photos to an email, BlackBerryWork seems to work just as well as Good if you have experience with that.
