As with a bunch of apps, I had to pay first, then on my first conversion... error and message it couldn’t convert. Typical. Won’t try again. Won’t buy again.

App creators like this need to allow for a one-time trial to see how TheEbookConverter works and if it works before requesting payment

In trying to convert from iBooks to PDF, TheEbookConverter provides a link with instructions on how to do that, but when you try to read the instructions, and advertising video pops up. There's no way to get rid of that advertising video, it covers the whole screen, and even after you watch the advertisement, you're forced to watch it again. They've covered up their own help instructions with a an endless video that you're forced to watch can never get past. How stupid is that!

This used to be a good app up until a couple of days ago when they changed it and now you have to pay to convert any type of file basically... which was the main point of TheEbookConverter . I uninstalled it, of course. Do yourself a favor and don’t install it.

I just downloaded TheEbookConverter onto my iPad because it states it will convert kindle to pdf so I can move it to another app. When I open it up and click on any “obtain” request it takes me to the developer question/help website. I even attempted to follow up with registering on that site and now states I have no authorization. Sooooo what does this FREE APP DO???

I tried over a dozen times from multiple devices to convert an ePub file to mobi. It never worked. TheEbookConverter doesn’t convert the files itself, instead it uploads your files to a server on the internet to do the conversion. It freezes during upload phase most of the time, if not it freezes during the conversion. Save your time and look elsewhere.

TheEbookConverter is basically a bait and switch scam.
I bought the original version and paid for it, and it was working fine.
Then Apple introduced subscriptions, and the developer became greedy and turned off all features that I already paid for and wants me to pay monthly subscriptions to enable the same features that were working before.
Save your storage space and money, and use a free online ebook converter.

Converting ePub to mobi. Pick file. Choose file conversion type. Tap convert, and 5 minutes later it’s still uploading. Or says it is. This isn’t a 4K movie. Just a book. Too many conversion apps, programs, and stuff out there to wait for this one to work. Deleted. And $4 a month, A MONTH, is way too expensive. $10 lifetime option MIGHT be worth it, if it worked. I’ll never know.

I had purchased full app via in app purchase and after few months app accumulated a lot of converted and non converted ebooks. As app do not offer cache offloading. So I uninstalled and again installed. The clean new install did not allow purchase restore and app did not recognised my previous purchase. So as TheEbookConverter did not allow any kind of conversion I had to click purchase button with the understanding that my previous purchase will be recognised as in all good apps on App Store. It did not. It charged my 9+$ again. I thinks apple should look to this problem as this is a clean rip off right under their nose. Very disappointed.... Beware of TheEbookConverter and developer.

This really is not a good app. It needs to upload everything to the company server, which takes forever to process. Half the time it just stalls and crashes. Really not worth the service. I would gladly pay for an app that did this offline, but this is not TheEbookConverter . Also, their servers are awful, so files over a certain size will not work 10-15Mb max, so if you need to work with larger PDFs, this will not work and you will be wasting your time watching the upload meter stall and crash if you leave app. But the company is deceptive in not telling you that.

Unable to convert to two page view pdf like I created in Affinity Publisher. After converting the file, when I click on “preview” I don’t get a preview. It just asks me to save it again. I have to go to Files on my iPad to open and view.

Converts files, good job, all the files showing up in Kindle named Safari is a pain. They are named correctly before the conversion, even show correct after but when sent to Kindle, they are always Safari. No way to rename them. 👎👎👎👎
Quick response from developer. Might be a Kindle problem renaming the file. Will look into this. Thank you for the quick response.

It got stuck on the upload at first

File wasn't downloaded correctly at first (corrupted and too small)

Not local program, it sends file -which might be private- to an unknown server and redownloads it. A real issue if you need to convert offline and are worried about privacy

Certain file types require a subscription but there's a week long free trial

It got the job done in the end after a bit of hassle. Good for what it is.

This is a great app that does what it promises and is worth the Lifetime Pass fee I paid ($9.99 at the time). Frequent updates and bug squashing keep it working well. Don’t listen to the cheapskate one-star reviewers, who are not reviewing TheEbookConverter or its functions but only their own poor attitudes. TheEbookConverter delivers big! Thanks!

I was tirelessly looking for a software or app that can easily convert my PDF file to EPUB but I continuously failed to find anything that worked. I even purchased a $70 software but my PDF photos didn’t covert. It was too glitchy. It wasn’t until I downloaded TheEbookConverter that I got the results I was hoping wishing and praying for. It was seamless and fast too. Definitely recommend. Don’t sleep on TheEbookConverter!

Works great!!! Is there a way to purchase the lifetime pass after the trial? I saw that option before selecting the free trial but only seeing the monthly subscription now.

For weeks I have been trying to complete some CEUs online but could not seem to understand or retain what I was reading very well my iPad was bothering my eyes. I found TheEbookConverter and converted online reading to pdf and then TheEbookConverter and to my kindle in minutes. Eye strain gone! I could finally relax enough to read comfortably and retain

Fast and easy to convert pdf to ebooks for multiple readers. I use ePub and read on iBooks. It’s definitely worth getting TheEbookConverter!!!

Good app with intuitive interface

TheEbookConverter works great! :) We were able to convert all of our favorite EPUB books from The Mises Institute into MOBI format so they could be used in the Kindle app! :) The only 2 very minor inconveniences that we encountered are: (1) uploading the original file takes longer than a normal upload should take, and the progress circle never moves during the process so you don’t know how much uploading time is left. (2) The MOBI file doesn’t have the advanced features of a Kindle book (such as zooming out to see a preview of all the pages), but this is to be expected since that is a proprietary Kindle feature. Besides those 2 minor inconveniences, everything works fantastic with TheEbookConverter! 5 stars!
