Not working with iOS 14. SideBooks was great previously.

I have loved using this app for reading scoresheets. With the new update the triangles in the bookmarks no longer rotate to show sub-headings. I can’t find a way to contact the developer to get the problem fixed.

Seems like a great app. I like that I can load a PDFs and write on it. You can connect to Dropbox only though. Only problem is that it takes too long to load each page. I really like the bookshelf look. I would love to use SideBooks in the future when it had improvement.

So far the best pdf reader I found. However, I wish there was a sort by rather than it always being in alphabetical order. I wish I could sort by the date opened or uploaded

I’ve been using SideBooks for a while but recently started to use it a lot more now that I have a tablet and can really appreciate comics viewed using it.

It’s amazing at what it does for the price—free! It’s an app I’d happily pay for, especially if we could get a bit more out of it, like a more customizable bookshelf look (it also gets a bit crowded, and the labels can be difficult to make out), and perhaps the ability to mass edit books (e.g. bulk change the cover to “the second page of the file”).

Definitely recommend this to anyone with lots of comics in ZIP/RAR or even PDF format.

I love SideBooks so much. I use it to store my crochet patterns. It ran perfectly until the newest iOS 15 update of SideBooks . Now it crashes when I add books/files to it. It didn’t do that before you updated this app 6 days ago. Please fix this so it’s back to being amazing. Thanks!!

I would give it 5 stars if the Dropbox feature allowed bulk downloads instead of 1 at a time.

An additional feature I would like is multiple bookshelves to categorize the books/docs more efficiently. Or in my case, have a shelf that is for my kids and one that is for me 😁

How about adding an eraser in the pen toolbox? I can select pens and colors but can’t erase when I make a mistake on the writings.
I also like to be able to open files stored on my iCloud Drive directly without having to import to SideBooks . Thanks.

i’ve been looking for an app all night that had specific qualities. I was willing to lose out on a few features if it had the others but SideBooks hit all my requirements to the T. It can open RAR, Zip. transfer from a cloud service or itunes file sharing. It can read right to left, up to down, and obv left to right. it has no ads, not a one. it has a pleasant book shelf and it will make the cover of the book the cover on the shelf. it doesn’t turn multiple pages just to let u change an option, instead you have to slide your finger halfway across the screen to turn and tap to pull up the options. if you’re looking for something to read your comics or manga on, i guarantee you SideBooks is the one u want.

I looked for a long time to find an ereader that has all the benefits of digital reading and reads like a regular old book. I’ve used SideBooks for a year and i love it. The only issues i’ve run into are when i’ve tried to read huge textbook pdfs (gray’s anatomy, principles of internal medicine, or principles of neural science [causes SideBooks to crash], i put all my huge textbooks in kindle) but i’ve read all of my regular pdf medical school textbooks in SideBooks and it has been a dream. Thanks!

SideBooks emulates a real book. I use it for textbooks. Great search and table of contents features. On iPhone I love the crop feature so the content can fill my screen instead of dead space. Love it!!

This is really the best PDF reader you can find! I love it! It’s packed with so much features that are so useful and practical. Even the navigation and the wood styles are awesome.

I’m using this review to hopefully put in a feature request sine the support site is in Japanese.

I love this reader….it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for except…PLEASE give us multiple sizes of thumbnails to choose from. They are so small it’s sometimes hard to read what on the cover.

My favorite iPad reader was Bookman Pro. Just updated my iPad to a new one, and found Bookman is no longer in SideBooks Store. This is pretty close, but since many of my documents don’t have pictorial first pages, I usually select from a title list, which this has. But it seems to insist on separating them by read and unread, which I don’t care about at all- I just want to see the complete list, instead I potentially have to look on both lists to find something. But so far the alternatives to this reader had worse problems so I’ll live with it for now. Other annoyances here is it appears the only option to delete a document is from the bookshelf view, not the list view and it is near impossible to identify a document from the bookshelf that does not have a significantly distinguishing first page.

In version 2.83.4 fixed the frozen bookmarks problem. I love SideBooks !

I don’t usually review apps, but when I do, SideBooks must be the best!! I love Sidebook because I have a lot of manga in pdf format. SideBooks makes reading manga reaching into another level! I can choose reading style from left to right OR right to left depending on the manga titles I have. SideBooks is really cool! 5 stars for sureeee
