Terrible App Terrible Cheap Mattress
2022-05-21
by Jonathonedward
First of all I did not buy a bed... I bought a 1200 dollar air mattress... app does not track sleep well at all...I have nothing but problems controlling my mattress... first “bed” only lasted 7 months then they had to replace it.. they upgraded me this bed was better but after a year one side keeps losing air and I have to inflate three times a day...I’ve been constantly inflating for six months until the last week when SleepNumber won’t control the bed... I’ve tried to repair the bed 100 times and it always freezes on a different spot.. usually when verifying my internet connection which is always working fine... can’t get “bed” to connect to my main Wi-Fi network or my guest.. when I first got mattress couldn’t get it to connect to WiFi and was on the phone with sleep number for an hour... I figured out that it wouldn’t connect because my network name had an apostrophe in it.. no one from sleep number figured that out though...I created a guest network just for the bed to connect to... worked fine until the last few months the bed has been offline...app is terrible mattress is terrible and I wasted 1200 and can’t keep my mattress inflated and I work all the time so I don’t have time to call these clowns... don’t waste your money go to big lots and buy a normal mattress
Horrible experience

The sleep IQ technology rarely works for tracking and measuring my sleep. More often than not, the tracker says that I’m in bed for like 16 hours when i was actually in bed for 7. It will often show that I’m currently in bed and it’s tracking my sleep whenever I am out of bed and looking at SleepNumber . There’s no way for me to troubleshoot this. When we got a new router, I failed to get back online. I tried everything the internet told me to do without success. When I finally had time to call customer service after work, I was on the phone for an hour. I had to make sure the bed was plugged in, unplug it for 20 seconds and plug it back in, shut down my Apple Watch, make sure nothing else was connected to my Bluetooth, connect to the 2.4 rather than the 5g, change my password on my router, change the name of my router to all one word, no spaces or punctuation- to finally get connected. The gentleman assisting me said that there is a list of routers that are incompatible with the sleep number bed, but luckily this wasn’t my issue. SleepNumber or website should have this disclaimer. I would also think that the troubleshooting screen should have all of these requirements listed clearly for customers so they don’t have to waste 30 minutes on hold and another 30 minutes on the phone talking to an unenthused employee. We spent nearly $10,000 on our bed and I expect to have awesome technology, app and customer service with a product that actually works all of the time.
Beds are great but their tech is poor

First off let me say that I love sleep number beds. So much that I upgraded and bought a second one. This is not a review on the beds this is a review in SleepNumber . And sleepIQ in general. I discovered that once you put in your email address to use sleepIQ you cannot remove it, therefore there is no resale value in sleepIQ, secondly upon getting a new bed you cannot use the same sleepIQ information carrying over to the second, and this is due to the fact you cannot use the same email address to set up an account for the second. So if you upgraded like I did be prepared to create a new email address specifically for the bed information. All that aside though in SleepNumber it can tell you asleep vs awake, that information does not transfer to the health app in iOS, the only information transferred over is “not n bed.” This is truly disappointing on a number of levels. There are applications that sit on the night stand next to the bed that can send information in separate chunks and have it register in the separate categories. For a company that is making money hand over fist in their beds (again comfortable as they are) they are claiming amazing features that is using technology from the early 90’s and the beginnings of the internet. Listen SleepNumber can control the bed via Bluetooth and via same network internet connection, not allowing the accounts to interchange or be deleted is just lazy programming.
I feel ripped off!

My wife and I purchased two Ultimate king size pillows that were non stock items in the store. We received them a couple weeks later and noticed they were considerably taller than the smaller ones in the store. We tried removing inserts but I could not get a good night sleep using it. I returned the pillow to the store and was told that they had several other people return them expressing the same experience over the last couple years with that pillow. When we purchased the pillows we used 150$ of inner circle rewards that I would now lose. Had I known it was different in thickness than the smaller demo pillows and several had been returned because of it I never would have bought them. It’s like bait and switch. I couldn’t get a refund So I had to purchase a different king size pillow that once again was not in stock so I couldn’t try it before I bought it except this time I would not be able to return it. So I am now waiting on a pillow that I was not able to try in a king size and like it or not I own it. And I lost 150$ in inner circle rewards. We enjoy our bed but feel we were deceived in purchasing a pillow that they knew was different than the display pillows we layed on. They should have told us! And I lost 150$ in inner circle for there deception. Shame on you!
So SleepNumber works ok. Not great all the time, it does glitch and say the wrong things about the position of the bed from time to time (like believing the bed is already fully upright even though it isn’t). But glitching comes with apps and restarting SleepNumber from time to time isn’t the end of the world. For me though, I draw the line at forcing both users to choose the same Privacy Mode. I own a Split King, which is literally two separate bases with two separate mattresses. We can do everything independently (with the added exception of the lighting apparently), but we are not allowed to have only ONE bed collect data. I actually feel personally violated by this. I’ve only had this bed for 4 days and I already feel as if you’ve committed as serious personal violation against me. Seriously. For 2 of those days I thought his was on and mine was off. I was so confused why I had to go into SleepNumber yesterday to turn mine off again, then I realized what was happening. I’m bed-bound, my husband is not. Your app literally thinks I’m sleeping in bed all day, every day with this on and, quite frankly, I don’t need or want your app tracking me in my bed. My husband does want to check out this feature though, so I’m allowing it to track me for his sake, but I’m livid that THIS is the best your company could come up with in terms of allowing Privacy for your users.
Bed is Great - App Needs Work!

I love my sleep number bed when it is working! But I am really disappointed with the way SleepNumber is working. It will randomly stop tracking my sleep. I like to have my bed set to private because it has a terrible set up where you can’t sit/relax/nap because it thinks you are in bed for the night. So I turn the privacy mode on in the morning (my dog like to nap on the bed during the day), and turn it off at night so it can track my sleep. At least 1-2 days a week now, it won’t record my sleep. And even when you forget to turn privacy on, so it tracks you as “sleeping”, and you go to adjust, the edits don’t correct your overall scores, making this data unreliable! Also, I have the air flow tracker on so that it could adjust as I am lying in bed. This only works about half of the time. When it works, it is fantastic. When it doesn’t, it’s just a regular bed not worth the price I paid for it. I have tried to baseline my bed but as soon as I start it, SleepNumber says it is done. I don’t think this is reliable as this baseline option literally does nothing to readjust my bed. SleepNumber needs to be improved - Sleep Number advertises this as a smart bed - but in my case lately, this is a regular bed i overpaid for. There is nothing smart about it at all because SleepNumber is continually failing!
It’s... Okay

Positives: It connects to my bed to adjust the sleep number, flex fit up and down, and turn on foot warmer and light. This is much better than the incredibly clunky remote they provide. It kind of tracks my sleep. It’s convenient that I can turn on my foot warmer from another room.
Cons: Lately, it often doesn’t give me my sleep IQ information fully until the following evening. For example, several times this week it gave me a very low number and said I only slept a few hours. It took most of the day for it to finalize and give me accurate information. The bed also believes I am out of bed when I am not during the night. I don’t know what it senses, but it’s not right which makes me wonder how inaccurate the rest of the Sleep IQ is. I still like the feature but imagine there are s lot of bugs in it. Also, connecting via Bluetooth can take a long time sometimes, so actually adjusting the sleep number/flex fit/accessories can take sometime as I wait for 10-15 seconds each time I go to one. Not what one expects in this world of advanced technology.
Overall, 3 stars for me. I do love the convenience of adjusting my bed from my phone. I just wish the Sleep IQ was faster and more accurate.
App needs smart updates

I’ve had my bed for a couple of days, but I noticed that SleepNumber could be a little more user friendly. If you’re expected to inflate the bed after you wake, why not have a reset button within the Bedroom Control tab option. I was also confused by the Sleep Tab. After waking up after my first night, I couldn’t figure out how to have app recognize that I was no longer in sleep mode. I had to go do an internet search to figure out how to make the adjustment. Again, why not have a sleep and wake option within the Sleep Tab instead of having to go to Settings Tab each time. Also, what’s the point of Connecting Apps if it doesn’t show up as a reference point within SleepNumber . I connected my Nest Thermostat and Nokia Body Cardio Scale expected that it was going to be a part of a sleek dashboard, but it’s no where to be seen. SleepNumber would be great if it wasn’t so basic. I’d love the ability to be able to connect the bed to my other smart home devices. Enhance routines by allowing you to automatically adjust your bed to your sleep number at a certain time each night. Create IFTTT applets that connect to LIFX lightbulbs, etc. Maybe an Alexa option that allows you to adjust the settings without having to grab your phone or the remote. Just my thoughts.
It’s fine, but...

SleepNumber is fine, but it’s not very intelligent and it should allow for more user control. On intelligence, if I get in bed in the middle of the day for an hour - that’s probably a brief rest or a nap, especially if I later have a full night’s sleep, but SleepNumber treats a nap or any lying on the bed like any full night of sleep. It should be able to recognize this as a brief rest or nap and automatically remove it from the overall sleep scoring, flag it and ask how I want to treat it, or treat it a different way. As it is, it throws off the overall sleep score, and I have to go back and remove it. Why can’t SleepNumber track maps or brief middle-of-the-day rests as just that? On user control, when I do get in bed, the tracking starts and there is nothing I can do to stop it or adjust it or tell SleepNumber I am just resting or taking a nap. It should allow me to stop the tracking or provide some input so my overall sleep score remains accurate or is tracking what I want it to track. Without the intelligence or user control, I have to do a bunch of after-the -fact removing of sessions for SleepNumber to track my sleep appropriately - or it would be nice to have naps or rests tracked but tracked separately - that would be intelligent sleep tracking. Seem like pretty simple and obvious fixes. On a separate note: SleepNumber is great for controlling the bed.
We love the bed (i10 with FlexFit 3 base), but the SleepIQ app has problems. More specifically, the bed has connectivity problems with SleepNumber in both the Bluetooth and Cloud mode. We have not experienced the problems that others have noted with the SleepIQ app itself— once we are able to get the bed and SleepNumber talking to one another. This process is hit or miss at our house; about half the time I need to power off the bed and power it back on before we can get any kind of connectivity between SleepNumber and the bed with either Bluetooth or Cloud. It can be a bit aggravating at 2:30 in the morning when you’re finally able to climb into bed only to have to recycle power to the bed before you can turn on the foot warmer, which is one of my favorite features.
Bottom line: Love the bed, hate having to arm wrestle with getting SleepNumber to work; once we get connectivity between the bed and SleepNumber working, the sleep IQ app seems to work fine and accurately tracks our sleep.
And in case you’re wondering, I’m an IT professional with 30 years experience. I have a mesh Wi-Fi network in my house with a Wi-Fi node in the bedroom and have maximum Wi-Fi connectivity in that room. I’m using the latest SleepIQ app (v3.7.0) on an iPhone 8 with iOS 11.4.1.
Great to add as extra remote but as sleep tracker it leaves a lot to be desired.

I have an Apple Watch a Fitbit and now the sleep iq apps. The only one I feel is somewhat accurate as well as user friendly is the Fitbit app. The apps all have some adjustments but the Fitbit allows you to adjust the start and end time in bed both forward and back. This allowing SleepNumber to recalculate your sleep based on when you actually are in bed vs when it automatically activates.
The sleep iq only allows you to shorten the time of sleep calculated. I have had it shut off at 2 am and was truly in bed till 6:45. 4 hours and 45 minutes of sleep not tracked. So my sleep score was unfairly low. When I have gone to sleep At 10 pm a lot of times it says im not in bed or I’m in bed but not a sleep for 1 to 2 1/2 hours again giving me again an inaccurate score as I like the concept of SleepNumber . And I would like it to be a secondary way to compare my sleep the weeks that I have used myself I have been dissatisfied. Please keep trying to configure the settings and allow user adjustments to allow for adding the time you get in bed to sleep and get up to help recalculate the sleeping score more accurately.
So for now it’s more of a way to have an alternative to using the actual remote.
Nice app for controlling Sleep Number bed

SleepNumber will save you from having to buy the $40 remote, but you lose a few features that are on the remote, such as a pre-programmed “Reading” position. Unfortunately there is only one “Favorite” position per person - would be nice to have more.
Regarding the SleepIQ stuff, it’s mildly interesting and gives you somewhat of a comparison between how you slept last nice vs your average night, but it is easily confused. If you go to bed and read for awhile or wake up in the morning but don’t get out of bed right away, it will count those extra minutes/hours as “restless sleep” time. It would be better to have buttons for “I’m going to sleep now” and “I’m awake” vs. having SleepNumber guess those things based on when you got into and out of the bed.
Update: It would be quite useful if you could designate one or more FlexFit Base settings as not counting towards Sleep Time. For example, if I choose Zero G to sit in bed and read, it should not try to track my sleep. As it is now, I need to adjust my readings every morning to remove my reading time before I go to sleep and after waking up.
Customer service

We have had the sleep number bed for over 10years now and last year we upgraded to a flex king option with dual temps. Everything worked fine until about a few months ago, our remote and apps stopped syncing with the bed controls. We have to unplug the power to the bed and dual temp each time we want to change the bed settings or the dual temp settings. I called customer service last week and they were very responsive and sent a new remote out. However the remote only works for one side. So we can only control one side of the dual temp and still need to unplug the bed to control the other dual temp and the bed. I will need to call them again and request another remote for the other dual temp. I can’t imagine having three different remotes to control one king bed. It’s a bit frustrating. Wish they had listened carefully and sent a dual remote out instead. If the problem is in the dual temp controller, they should replace the dual temp instead of making us have three different remotes.
Hoping someone from the customer service will look at this review and make amends.
Split the difference

My wife and I both have issues with our back and require two different types of mattresses. Naturally that is not easily accomplished without two complete separate beds. In comes Sleep Number. I gave it a 4 star because I split the difference between my wife and I. My wife absolute loves it!!! Me, I’m okey with it. Although I do not get excited about much anyways. But my wife is happy and the pain in her back is relieved which is worth ALOT!! I say a lot because I’m paying for my bed right now that we have had for 3 months. The downside of this bed- it’s cost!! Everything about this bed is expensive. So as long as you get that in your head, oh well.
The only gripe I have is that we bought our bed two months ago and asked the sales person if the beds ever go on sale. We were told possibly. Well, Labor Day hits and now our bed was on sale for almost $3,000 less than what we purchased it for. I was not happy at all!! If my wife didn’t like the bed I would have returned it or lit it on fire in front of the store ( that’s sarcasm people). But seriously, I was not happy.
Final thoughts. 1) if you can get over the price, it’s great. 2) if you have serious back issues, it’s great.
Good app and great to control bed with. But four points that could be improved:(1) if I sit on the bed to, for example, do some computer work, the bed logs me as going to bed to sleep. If this happens at 8:30 pm, the next day’s log shows that I went to bed at 8:30. (2) while you can edit that bedtime to be the real bedtime (say, 11:30), it says that the change will be reflected in my SleepIQ but will not recalculate the other averages. But don’t all of those other numbers (periods of restlessness, number of times out of the bed, etc.) affect the SleepIQ? (3) need to add a timer feature to SleepNumber . We almost didn’t buy the separate remote control but am glad we did because that’s where the timer is. I usually use my phone while my husband uses the remote but I have to hunt it down when I want to set a timer. Seems like it would be easy to add that feature to SleepNumber . (4) 10 minutes is too long for the underbed light to stay on. Would be better if you could set the time: 3, 5, or 10 minutes.
None of these ideas make this a bad bed! It’s a great bed and app and I highly recommend it. Just wanted to share my thoughts for improving SleepNumber .
App works great

I’ve read some bad reviews that talk about SleepNumber not working or providing wrong data. I’ve had no problems with SleepNumber. It’s pretty accurate letting me know how much I’ve slept and whether it was restless sleep or a good sleep and it matches how I feel that day. The controls for firmness work great...... most times......, and this is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars, because every once in a while it will give me a bad reading and say I’m at 35-40 when it’s really at 50 or 55. When that happens I just reset the system or just inflate real high like 90 or higher and then set my sleep number back down to 35-40 and it usually gets right back in line. As for the bed itself, I have been waking up with a sore back for over 20 years, nothing major just sore enough where I had to walk around for an hour or so before it started feeling better, and I have tried no less than 4 different mattress over those years and it wasn’t until I purchased the Sleep Number that I am finally waking up feeling great. It took about a week or two before I found my sleep number but once I did, no more sore back. I don’t have the adjustable base so I cannot comment on that but just on a flat base I feel great.
A few glitches, but mostly good stuff!

First off, I love our Sleep Number bed and the SleepIQ app. After many less expensive mattresses over the years, nothing has given me the great sleep like the Sleep Number. But this is about SleepNumber , not the bed itself. So…. SleepNumber is great in letting me adjust the bed and for tracking my sleep. I love seeing how much restful sleep I experienced each night. Along with that, there is plenty of useful information to help a person make life adjustments to improve the quality of sleep one gets. With that being said, there are times when SleepNumber will think I’m still in bed or, for whatever reason, will not set the bed to the chosen number. This is usually easily fixed by restarting SleepNumber , but it is an annoyance. Also, it seems like there would be an easy way to make adjustments for tracking naps without the nap times being thrown in to the overall sleep quality statistics. Of course I just turn off tracking if I lay down for a nap, but again, just a minor annoyance. A few small additions/changes would elevate the rating to 5 stars for me.

I am a 47 yr old female and I have Multiple Sclerosis. I had gotten to the point I lived in silent pain all the time. When I was first diagnosed we went out and bought one of the greatest memory foam mattresses on the market. After a few years it started to sag in the places we laid every night and where I spent a lot of my time when my body just would now go. After finally 11 years and now losing down to 88 lbs. I was waking up with bruises from laying on bones. It was time to make a change. We went and looked at the sleep number and I was hooked. The pressure points were immediately relieved. At the touch of a button this bed adjust to the best number for you; And keeps adjusting as you move around at night. My Husband who was constantly changing positions during the night does not flop around like a fish anymore! The first night we piled in let the auto-adjust do it’s thing, and we both were out like a light. No more tossing and turning. It has helped with my MS pain tremendously, and it has helped with my husband’s back pain (an old compression injury). Even with out pain I would recommend this bed to ANYONE that is looking for a restful nights sleep. It is hands down the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We are so glad that we made this purchase. It is definitely worth every penny!
An idea on how you could add an alarm feature

So your product has been working wonders on helping get a good nights rest and understand how I’m sleeping much better. I’ve found that getting comfortable and falling asleep have become easier as continue use of your wonderful bed, but I have a game changer for you. You’ve integrated a bed time reminder into your app but how about introducing an alarm like no other. I like the idea of being woken up gently. I find that it really sets a tone for how my day will go. However this is not often a convince that’s afforded to me. It’s either an alarm, my wife or infant son making aggressive noises to jolt me from my slumber, often leaving me in a less than favorable mood for a few hours each morning. The I got to thinking what if my mattress could wake me? Introduce an alarm into the sleep number app that begins waking you fifteen minutes before you want to be awake. It starts by gently increasing the incline of the flex fit base by fifteen degrees every five minutes till it’s in the upright position. Allowing you to gently and quietly rise and shine.
Love it, but please keep us Night Shift workers in mind.

I have been using this bed for a while now, and I love SleepNumber features that gather my sleep and health data. I am a Sleep Technologist as well and find this information would be so useful to us and your physician and sleep specialists when we see you in the clinics and sleep labs. I love the monthly report that you can download, save, print, and share. This would be so valuable to them. Your data is pretty accurate. I am amazed at this technology. I confess as a “Trekkie” I always hoped to see the “Star Trek Bed” from Dr. McCoy’s sick bay, it appears we have finally achieved this. How amazing we were already dreaming this technology decades ago and we made it happen! Can I make a recommendation? For future, perhaps find a way to screen users who work night shift and include features, tips, coaching, articles, etc specifically for us? Much of the sleep support is mostly for “day walkers” but us “night walkers” have a completely different circadian rhythm that needs constant vigilance and support to maintain optimal a health and heart health. Thank you!! Keep up the great work!
Very Disappointing.

We were told by the sales people that you didn’t need a remote because SleepNumber did everything. NOT SO. (1) We bought a remote a single remote just in case, and found functionality like timers and various bed positions on the remote that don’t exist in SleepNumber . I have to use my phone to set my favorite sleep position and the remote to have it adjust to flat after I’m asleep. Why? (2) Tech support told us it’s because we have a FlexFit 2. The sales people told us the only difference between 2 and 3 was the foot warmer. Apparently also NOT TRUE. Allegedly more app functionality with the 3, other than just heated feet. WHY? (3) Routines? If you don’t have a foot warmer, all you can do is set a reminder to go to bed. Isn’t that just an alarm? My phone does that without any special apps! I would think a routine is set my sleep number and bed position at a specified bedtime, make the bed go flat an hour or two later, and reset everything at a specific wake up time. I guess not. (4) Getting my IQ sleep score. My husband apparently meets the random criteria for being in and out of bed. I’m apparently always sleeping. I’ve tried troubleshooting and resetting the bed. Nothing works. SleepNumber is a waste. You have to spend $90 to get complete remote functionality.
Really frustrating app

by Roadracer9x
This is without doubt one of the worst apps ever written. The Bluetooth implementation is abysmal. Every time you select a new control page for the bed, SleepNumber has to resync with Bluetooth so you cannot start controlling the bed until the sync is complete or it defaults to cloud control which can take up to a minute. If that weren’t bad enough, the bed itself has very flakey Bluetooth hardware which seems to go out just when you really need to change your head or foot position. Each time Bluetooth goes out, I unplug the electrical connection to the pump, wait 15 seconds and re-plug it in. That seems to fix the Bluetooth temporarily until the next time. The most frustrating problem is that the slide buttons that control Responsive Air and the under-bed lighting are too small to swipe reliably and don’t operate while SleepNumber is resyncing. They used to be much bigger and more responsive but someone decided to change them for the worse. In cases where the bed does not correctly record sleep and you want to edit the sleep session you get a message “Finalizing Sleep Session” that comes up for days or forever so you cannot edit the sleep session.
It seems that SleepNumber is purposely bad to force you to buy this app’s dedicated remote.
Pretty much useless for sleep tracking

My wife and I bought an i10 split king with a flex2 base. She gave up on SleepNumber pretty much right out of the gate. I tried to like it for a while, but the data it presents is ridiculous. Some nights it has me in bed for 16 hours. Some nights it has me in bed for 16 minutes. Some nights it has no data collected, and some nights I’ll somehow have 2 entries for the same time with different results. As for bed control, pretty much gave up on that too. On our third night we lost control of the bed, and nothing we did would fix it. Tried unplugging the bed, reinstalling SleepNumber , nothing worked. Contacted customer support who basically told me “Gosh, that sounds awful. Wish we could help.” And so I went back and bought a remote.
SleepNumber and the whole SleepIQ system need a LOT of help. The whole thing seems tacked on, and that’s not cool when it’s one of the main selling points of your product. There are literally entire commercials talking about how smart this bed and app are, and I just haven’t seen it. The bed is comfortable, but the sleepiq feature leaves a lot to be desired. Definitely hard to justify the price when the features are half baked and inconsistent.
Bed tech needs a lot of improvements

Ok, we spent $5,000 on our new bed We have a new sleep number smart bed and SleepIQ app on our phones. Turns out SleepNumber only works on the 2.4 router band. That means if you have a new Comcast X1 mesh router, the apps dont work and you have to reconfigure the router to split the bands by naming them separately (BTW, defeats the purpose of a mesh router). This was the solution given me by the sleep number folks to make the bed and app talk to the store's network. Seems to me an app holding a router hostage is not the brightest way to configure a software solution. That said, the X1 routers are new and hopefully the sleep number folks will update SleepNumber to work smartly with newer set continuing technology. We still have these connectivity issues even after doing all of that. Our 100 nights is coming up soon and we are seriously thinking of returning the bed. Unfortunately we’re not allowed to return the metal base which is where the network problems lie. The technology side of this bed system was a strong selling point for the store and now we’re having these continuing issues. Oh, and you already sent a completely new bed, et al, last month to fix the bad pump and light issues.
As someone who needs to frequently adjust positions and firmness of my bed throughout the night, it’s really aggravating to go through so many steps when uncomfortable and trying to get back to sleep. Last thing I want to do is spend extra time fumbling with my phone and dealing with the bright display at 3 am. There should be an iOS widget or some way to quick connect in. Right now it is tedious.
Also, I’m not sure if it’s SleepNumber or the bed but it’s not uncommon for it to not list my bed or, if it does, partial functions are only available such as being able to adjust the head but not foot or only being able to change firmness. No idea why it flakes out but it’s awful when I really need to get out of my current bed position.
Update: Wanting to respond to the new app UI refresh. It’s prettier for sure but overall, I’d say my concerns above still remain. It’s possibly worse now although I haven’t tested side by side yet. A lot of animations now just delay getting to the point. Allow me to adjust the bed as quick as possible and get out. Also, I wish it would remember my bed side as a default so I don’t always have to reselect it.
I think that it is OK

I honestly have not had too many issues with the system or SleepNumber. Some connectivity issues since I moved with my bed to a new home. After some online troubleshooting and going to google for some help from other sleep number users, I managed to get my bed back online in the new home and on a brand new WiFi router. I would have to say that my only issue with SleepNumber is how it tracks when I’m in bed. I work long hours during the week and use my weekend/days off to take a load off and lounge in bed for several hours out of the day. Not to sleep, but just to watch tv or read a book. However, the system/app is tracking me as sleeping during hours that I am not....I’m only relaxing. I don’t know if there is a way to fix what the bed should monitor as “sleep” as opposed to anything else you’re doing in/on the bed. Aside from this issue, my Bluetooth connection from the phone to the bed works fine as a wireless remote to change the bed position or sleep number and turning on/off the under bed lighting.

App is crap, I've submitted obvious suggestions to Sleep Number, and have been ignored. It's as if they fired their programmer(s) after the first version of SleepIQ was written.
What's needed:
*Capacity for multiple favorite positions
*Faster app loading
*A user interface designed by a programmer who has taken at least one basic class in UI design
*And most importantly, perhaps, integration with Alexa / Siri / Apple Shortcuts.
SleepIQ's IQ is significantly below average; it feels like the app was written in the early 90s by an amateur.
The bed's novelty quickly wears off when you realize that you paid a lot but 1) customer service doesn't care, and 2) there's no way for you, the customer, to extend / customize the app's features yourself.
Never again.

SleepIQ regularly has the time that I actually go to sleep incorrect which affects all of the ratings. On the other side of the bed, my wife's seems to be accurate. What gives?

The app is worthless except for using it to set the bed. It says I am sleeping when I have been at work for over 3 hours!! You can NOT change times to reflect the ACTUAL TIME you were in bed. It's just a cop out for not including an actual REMOTE CONTROL for the bed. I am done with it. I have turned on privacy mode so that it will stop collecting useless, inaccurate info.
